Nice pics, Ginger! I love biking along the Hudson and walking on the High Line. Gorgeous scenery, Claire! Have fun in Ireland, Wonderland! Ruthbru, I wanna see Mamma Mia too! And learn mahjong like patoo. Yellowb, I agree.
Yesterday was a weighted Tabata workout for 30 minutes on Youtube. A killer. Bob Harper said I should be proud of myself. Today went for a 4-hour bike ride with DD and her BF.

I want to be relaxing with you, Ginger!
The Walking Women did a downtown walk & stopped at the local business which made our new tee shirts (the store owner is the guy in the middle ). I'll be doing put-the-house-back-together things this afternoon & go to Step tonight.

We took our kids to the ZOO today, 6+ hours and my feet are almost numb. No more exercise today, I guess. I don't get it, but the kids are running in the garden as if they were sitting at a desk the whole day.... I would like to have a bit of their energy
Ginger, beautiful pics and the boat looks fabulous!

Ginger, great pictures. Did 2 hours water volleyball this morning and now my left hip is saying "are you for real!" So passed up pickleball this evening, just took some ibuprofen and will do pickleball tomorrow morning (which I was going to do anyway so only 14 hours apart and my hip probably would have violently protested). Got some housework and computer work done instead.
Night sculpted friends.

Ginger: Fabulous pictures!
Ruth: looks like WWW keeps growing. That's great!
Hi All. In between rain and preparing for our Ireland trip I have been walking/running. It's so humid that it's almost unbearable to exercise outside. Getting excited as we leave tomorrow!

Wonderland you will have a fabulous time, Ireland is beautiful, looking forward to seeing some pictures. Ginger what gorgeous photos and what a special vacation. Ruth you’re in the home stretch I’m sure you’ll celebrate when it’s all completed. I didn’t get selected for a jury just had to spend all day just waiting around in very uncomfortable chairs, I did go for a couple of short walks when they gave us breaks but it is so hot here it was uncomfortable being outside.
Tonight did Body Combat and Grit Strength class.0 -
I love seeing everyones pictures because I can go to the mountains and then for a boat ride! Looking forward to seeng Ireland too.
I have been walking every day at lunch this week, so I am getting in more exercise during the work week than I usually do. My company packed 700 more people into our main campus so if you go out at lunch you will not be able to find a place to park, so we have been walking instead. That is one good side effect, I guess.

Ginger, looks like a lovely trip! If you come up through Kingston and Saugerties you'll be close to where I live. When my teens were little we used to live closer to the Saugerties light house years ago and we'd hike and picnic there all the time.
I'm exercising most days- ran 2.25 miles on Monday and did yoga and biked yesterday. Tomorrow I go to my BS office for a survivorship visit that includes meeting with a nutritionist, a massage and a yoga class. That's one Dr appointment I'm looking forward to!

POUND this morning, house stuff, since it's really nice out today I'm taking off to grab the puppies for a walk, then yoga, then house stuff.....getting in lots of steps, that is for sure!

Hi ladies,
I am new to this particular forum. I have been increasing my exercise considerably since starting on anastrazole, and it seems to be helping my avoid side effects including weight gain. I started doing yoga 2x a week at my hospital while I was having radiation back in March, and have continued that (I just love it!). I also started bicycle riding (no Tour de France here, just around the neighborhood as much as I can), do a lot of walking and occasional weight machines and cardio at the Y (I feel guilty sometimes about not going to the gym more often, but in the summer I prefer to be outdoors).
Today so far, yoga class and a bike ride, probably a walk before dinner.

Welcome Miranda!
I have been packing, packing and more packing for my upcoming move. It definitely gets in the steps. I confess that, unlike you Ruth, I don't have the energy to also do something like Pound. It is very hot here, triple digits every day, and getting just the packing in seems to do me in!

miranda- nice to hear from you again. We were in the January surgery group together. Glad you're doing well.

Thanks, ruthbru and octogirl. Hi jo, great to see you again! Hope you are doing well.
Octogirl, where do you live with triple-digit temps? That's got to be very tough, especially doing something as arduous as packing/moving.

Welcome Miranda.
Been very humid here, but no triple digit temps, thank you very much. Getting exercise in where I can - last evening DH and I rode our bikes to town, they were having a river walk festival - well, the festival wasn't much, but the ride home at sunset was wonderful, the bike path goes through a wildlife mgmt area, saw a fox, lots of bunnies, and all the swallows eating the mosquitoes. A little buggy - had to remember to keep my mouth closed and ride fast! Leaving on Sunday for a camping trip to New Hampshire, so my steps today and tomorrow will be packing the trailer.

Falconer- we are in Staatsburgh now and head to Catskill tomorrow. It is beautiful up here!
Sunset last night.

Miranda: Central California. It has been triple digits for over a week. Which actually isn't that unusual for around here....and the next day that is projected to be below 100 is a week from Saturday, when it will drop to 99F! The good news is that humidity is a bit under 30%, so on the dry side; it could be worse. And even better news: we are taking a break from packing next week to head over to the coast for a few days to celebrate hubby's retirement and see some friends and family before we move out of state: the highs on the coast are predicted to be in the 60s and low 70s...can't wait.
I will be doing lots of hiking on that break, for now I am mostly packing, packing, packing, broken up by a swim now and then...
Wonderland, have a WONDERFUL time!

Welcome Miranda, I read an article this morning about bicycling being the "fountain of youth" I'll see if I can find it again and post the link - good news for bicycle riders. Octo the heat really is relentless I will be so glad when it breaks and I'm by the ocean so you know we are lower than you guys but still.... yesterday we had marine layer all day but it was still hot, they keep extending out heat index days, I feel so bad for the people being displaced by the fires right now, weather conditions are making it the perfect storm. Ginger what a beautiful serene place, your trip looks fabulous. Enjoy your day Falconer, sounds very interesting. Pat enjoy NH it's such a pretty state.,
Last night was Sprint class and then a jaunt around Costco, mostly food but a winter vest for my friend who lives in Tennessee, I had bought her one as a birthday gift last year and she loved it but unfortunately she was somewhere and it was freezing so she backed up too close to the fire and her vest melted, she called me wanting to find out where I had bought it as she wanted to replace it and so when I saw them in stock I grabbed her another one.

Ran a 5K this morning at 7. It went very well. Now I'm working until 4 pm. Another rainy day in Miami. Ruth inspired me. I worked on cleaning out my closets until 11 last night. These closets are filled with holiday decorations. It's taking longer to clean out these closets because I'm having so much fun looking at all my decorations. I am one of those people who decorate for every single holiday. If I had a groundhog I would probably decorate for Groundhog Day. Have a wonderful weekend. Keep moving. My secret for never having to clean out my clothes closets is simple. Every time I buy a new item I remove a similar item from my closet. Every 3 months I go through the whole closet and get rid of things I no longer wear.

hi all and welcome miranda2026. Great photos everyone and Wonderland, pls send Ireland pix!
It's been absolutely gorgeous here the past week, walked at lunchtime and after supper every day.
Saw family doc for annual exam last week. I'm healthy except for high cholesterol. She wants me on a statin but I'm resisting. Would rather try diet changes first. So: more plants & fish; less meat, cheese & eggs. It'll be a challenge for sure. Beer doesn't have cholesterol but red wine is "heart-healthy" so may have to add a few glasses a week to my diet. ;-)

missed yesterday's exercise. DD was having a flare up, and was quite sick so I didn't want to leave her slone, even tho she is a college graduate! I can see her medical issues are going to potentially impact my exercise scheule, and my local y closed, so I have to drive to get to a treadmill. I'll need to come up with a better plan.

Hello
From the little bit that I have read you all seem to be very active, friendly bunch!
4 weeks out from doing DD taxol. Started anastrozole two weeks ago. Only problem I see having is some joint pain in my hands and struggle with sleeping at night . I've been to a cancer rehab exercise class twice last week. First time I've actually got my body moving that much since surgery and chemo. I was walking during chemo until my feet develop the hand foot syndrome. Then it was too painful and hot to walk. Now I'm dealing with some neuropathy. Feel like I have rocks in my shoes. Got to love that!
My question is did you guys dive into all this exercise everyday or did you work into it?
I'm scheduled to go camping end of August and that incorporates four wheeling in the mountains. I want to be strong enough to do that. But I don't want to overdo it and set myself back either.
Also do you ladies wear a sleeve when you do your weight bearing exercises?
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thank You!

Some path cleaning in the forest today... and gardening then. No more exercise today, I guess. I fear Monday, my next AC

Falconer- I waved to you as we went under the Kingston bridge and past theSaugerties Light.

Welcome, Life! Definitely don't dive, but slowly work your way back into your normal routine. Since I don't have LE, I do not wear a sleeve. I have 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' phylosopy. Plus I think wearing one without a gauntlet can actually cause swelling.
This weekend my town has it's annual summer festival. I walked in a 5K (proceeds of which will go towards scholarships for families who can't afford memberships to my activity center). Then DH & I went to a pancake breakfast at the Fire Station (proceeds of which will be used for equipment), and I will probably wander around a park listening to music and inspecting Classic Cars this afternoon. There are some fun things about living in a smaller town! I have to touch up paint, hang pictures, get the downstairs (where everything was stored) back in shape, and then this 'touch up'project will finally be DONE (well, a most, we are getting a new railing but aren't doing that ourselves so have to wait until the summer construction season ends to get that done). Whew, quite an ordeal!
