Heidi: I am so sorry about Allie. While in Nashville I showed the ladies lots of pictures of our new rescue cat. Her fate was the same as your Allie. It's sickening. I've never had a pet to perish this way. Dh and I knew we needed another cat so we went to the animal shelter and adopted 2 more sweet kitties. I hope you consider adopting another pet. They need you as much as you need them. Hugs to you and your family.

Had a fabulous Thanksgiving. Ate way too much. Walked/ran this afternoon.

Heidi I am so so sorry for your loss, sending you a gently (((hug))). Welcome rocky glad to have you join us.

I didn't do too badly on the eating front over Thanksgiving, not a piece of turkey passed my lips only because I had the prime rib and lamb and I only had small helpings of the side dishes, there were so many and I just wanted a taste of everything - the dessert table well that was another story. I did follow up on friday with a 90 minute Body Combat class and yesterday went to a special event where I did Body Pump, CX Works (a core workout) and Grit Strength, I was completely wiped out after that. Have been taking it easy today, catching up on shows on the DVR but I'm about to go out to Macy's, I need a new duvet and they are on sale up until now I have completely avoided to stores as I just can't be bothered and I figure it's late enough in the day the mall won't be too bad.

My week off sadly has come to an end.....I manage to do some things in the house that I wanted to get done - dusting and going through things.....I took most of the beanies off my dresser and taking 3 of 4 bears off the top of my bed....just tired of all the dust collecting....not going to give them away just yet, but putting in a plastic bag in my closet. Of course there is way more that I could have done, but I wasn't really effective with my time.....Didn't get the steps in that I thought I would.

DH has a 5am flight and gets in at 6:30am. I will pick him up and then go to work. Next trip to his mom's I will go with him. Thinking maybe Mother's Day week-end.....leave Thursday after work and come home Sunday afternoon.....Of course lots of time to decide. First, I need to get busy and make her birthday photo book. Hoping DH took a few pictures of them together.

Just a quick check in; I'm in the midst of Christmas decorating. I have basically not sat down since Friday (but still don't have as many steps as Vargadoll does on a normal day! I did pause for a pilates DVD yesterday & my POUND class today. Back to work!

Thanks for all the hugs and kind thoughts. Wonderland, so sorry to hear about your cat. It must be something in the alignment of the planets. We had an adorable neighborhood cat get run over last week and someone I know broke her leg when a metal gate slammed on her. So freaky.

Went on a long hike with DH yesterday. Today is a rest day so far but may do some Zumba later.

Pets are definitely part of the family. Hugs to those that have lost a pet. I currently don't have one because I don't think I could go thru the heartbreak again.

Exercise class was canceled today because they lost power in the building. We had a big snow storm and it took out several power lines in the area. Schools are closed and DH's office is closed and everyone told to work from home. I did get my exercise in today by snow blowing and shoveling the driveway. It was very wet and heavy. I'm exhausted!!! Going to attempt going out in a bit. Hopefully the roads are cleared by now.

I have been quiet of late but have been keeping up with all the postings daily. Blessings to all and thanks for keeping it real for me...through the celebrations and the sadness, a full life we all have. I have sent many silent prayers to you over the past couple of months.

I am three weeks out from my next surgery so am in count down mode.Trying to get ahead of Christmas details I got the tree up this weekend and will work on wrapping and doing details as a surgery on Dec 17th will mean no stretching and carrying through to after New Year's. The worst part of the surgery is no yoga/pilates/etc. for at least 4 weeks. Will become a walking machine...which I find more difficult in the cold and dark days of December/January.

Earlier this month I spent a week in Victoria, B.C. while at a conference. A beautiful place but one strangely difficult to travel to. Still working off the 4 extra pounds gained during that adventure...but overall should be 25 lbs less than my Sept 2017 surgery...so overall have to be grateful.

Went to gym Sunday and already today so off to a good post-Thanksgiving week! Best to all, TT

Hi TT, minus 25 pounds is VERY impressive! That's the thing I hate about surgery, having to be 'good' afterward. Argh, so boring!

I subbed today (7th grade English......a much better fit than the 8th grade Earth Science I did last week) and went to Zumba. It is REALLY cold here but that has kept the stormy weather south of us, which we appreciate very much!

Busy day spending $....and haven't left my house since I got home from work!!! DD#2 did some online shopping for clothes....I ordered new glasses and my iPhone 8....I'd been putting off getting a new phone, though I need it as my is 3+ years old, but Apple has a deal for a $50 gift card that ends today...so I figured I get the phone a few weeks early....definitely wanted to have it before I go visit daughter in a month during winter break.

Time for a walk with DH. Since school started I've put on a good 6# - less walking and more eating!!! Back to where I was a few years ago.....Keep saying I need to increase steps and decrease eating, but I haven't been successful in following through!!!

TrmTab, good to see you posting and 25 down is quite an accomplishment. A tv programme was on last night regarding menopause and zumba was mentioned as a bone builder: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6427259/My-secrets-stress-free-menopause.html DH and I drove Sunday afternoon to Dorset to attend a morning funeral yesterday for his aunt and drove home late yesterday afternoon. This area is called The Jurassic Coast, very stunning coast line. Beyond that, what struck me was little evidence of Christmas coming. No pubs, shops nor church we visited had any decorations up. The department stores have xmas going but the rest seems to be cranking up later this year. Hitting the ground running this morning, having 4 classes to teach including yoga for those living with cancer (Falconer, mostly restorative). Need to get the car loaded with mats, blocks and various things used for my exercise for older adults and to the scout hall early to warm it up. Been reading Becoming by Michelle Obama and love it - what an excellent writer and interesting life. Off to get this day going on this dark, cold, damp-foggy late November morning in the hinterdlands of Kent.

I love the Dorset coast! Interesting to know that there is a part of the world that waits until Advent before putting up the Christmas decorations.

I am shopping and giving'd out. Just an incessant barrage of opportunities to get me to part with my money. I did buy a pair of lovely Versace trousers at the resale shop, as I do like to support them and they were 30% off. But nothing else yet though may succumb to a deal on printer inkLoopy

I will get a lovely live tree and put it up once December arrives. I did catch up on exercise over Thanksgiving including a run in the rain yesterday. The snows are descending so hopefully skiing in a couple of weeks.

Need to get it back in gear and go into the nonprofit. Just a walk this evening..... - Claire

Pound this morning, and now am off for some more Christmas shopping (we are in a Winter Weather Advisory tomorrow). Maybe I will walk the grandpuppies this afternoon & Book Club tonight.

Here is a picture of my tree. The angel was made for me by an honorary auntie when I was a little girl, and I find a special spot for her every year.

Hi all: Hubby I spent the holiday with cousins in San Diego, and thanks to having work commitments here this week, I get to extend my stay! Hubby went home (inspections on the house we are in contract to buy are today, so he wanted to be there for that: fingers crossed it all goes well!)...The weather in San Diego, as usual, is pretty darn near perfect (highs mid-seventies, lots of sunshine, though rain is forecast for Thursday). So, I've managed a few long beach walks and some swimming; can't walk on the beach at home so might as well do it here. Here is a photo from one of those walks...

Been spending money and more money.....finally broke down and bought a new iPhone as mine is 3+ years old.....I was trying to hold out as long as possible but Apple had a $50 gift card this week-end and I couldn't pass it up since I was going to buy the iPhone 8 anyways.....Also bought a couple books, new glasses (ordered online for a great price - sure hope they are good) and other small things.....almost bought a apple watch3 because it was on sale for a great price, but then said why!!! the good price is gone so no more thoughts....

Was grey and gloomy today - even I was inside all day for work, I was near a big window and I could see the dreary day!!

karen-you go girl. Hit those big sales. I'm thinking about treating myself to the concept D rowing machine. But I'm trying to justify that $900 price tag. I had my cataract surgery Monday. Everything went extremely well. No running or any other strenuous activityincluding work until next week. I'm okay with it. My mom is from out of town so we're working in the yard today and repotting orchids. It's an absolutely gorgeous day. The temp 50s. And low 60s with sun. I've almost finished putting up all my Christmas decorations. I finished decorating 2 -10 feet artificial Christmas trees and one 7 1/2 ft real tree. I just love the holidays. Last year I was diagnosed on December 12th. Fortunately I had completed all of my Christmas decorations but the anxiety related to testing and surgery schedule changes caused a negative cloud over the holidays. Last year I did cook a huge Hanukkah dinner as well as Christmas dinner. My Jewish friends are Reform.

Hello! After taking a couple days off from exercising over weekend I was back at the gym last night. Ran 3 miles and went to Barre class after. Tonight I will probably bike and do some strength work after.

No Black Friday shopping for me or Cyber Monday. I rarely shop on Black Friday, hate the crowds but usually do online shopping. I was rarely online last weekend and didn't even look at the ads. We spent the weekend running around choosing flooring and new furniture for our lower level. While that sounds fun, picking everything out stresses me out and I was shopped out from that! I did some shopping in Nov so do have some gifts bought.

Yes Ruth winter is here to stay in ND isn't it. I am ready for March!

Jo - good to hear that the cataract surgery went well. Some people would say your temps in FL are cold!! But that is glorious weather.

Three walks today - finally got a walk in before work, but still only managed to get 14K steps....and didn't graze like i have been, so hopefully I have things under control :)

Chanukah starts Sunday night....I used to decorate when my kids were little but I haven't seen my youngest was in high school. Holidays are just different when there a no kids at home anymore.....DH and I never exchanged gifts at Chanukah...we only do our b'days. As the kids got older, $ is the preferred gift. Mailed a check to DD#1 and SIL this morning. DD#2 did some cyber shopping and I'll buy her something when I see her next month. DS is getting cash.

Old enough to have been empty nest for several years, but its only 2+ years and I miss the kids....hopefully there will be a next generation one day!!

DH took Mischa (almost 10 year old St. Bernard) for he check up today - very healthy especially for how old she is, but she has an abscessed tooth - don't want her put under anesthesia to pull it so hoping it will fall out on its own....Ver said with some big bones it might...

Ruth - love seeing the pictures of the WWW - the group keeps growing

    Sweet dreams.

I continued my active day with some snow shoveling, a puppy walk, and Dance2Fit. I ordered some long dangling lights for the picture window and have spent the last two hours untangling them, trying to put them up (at which point they retangle), untangling them again, trying to put them up again, untangling again......ShockedDevilShockedDevilI am now going to try to cram them back in their boxes and send them back.....

The end of my work week...for some reason this week felt really long....I'm ready for winter break but still 3 more weeks of work and they will be busy!!!

Got the iPhone XR . it ended up only being $80 some dollars more than the 8....I traded in my old 6 which was in great physical shapre and got $150 for it.....with the 8 they were only going to give me 75. I've pretty much set up the new phone, but still need to learn about all the features. Ordered a phone case that should arrive tomorrow so I need to be extra careful with the phone. Maybe I won't take it with me when I go out. I'm donating blood at 7:40. Only other errands is to the grocery store, then clean, cook and do laundry.

Waiting for DH to go for our evening walk.

    Hi Everyone,

I thought I posted last night, but I guess it never came through. little DS was having a little meltdown so I cut it short anyway.

Glad to hear your holidays are going well. We had a nice long break from work last week. We cooked a lot and exercised a little.

Lilac funny you should mention Becoming- just yesterday my hairdresser was telling me how much she loved it.

I drove to NJ on Wednesday to see a cancer rehab specialist- the doctor who wrote the book on it, actually. My neck and shoulder pain is still nagging, and my BS recommended him. Well it was a thorough visit and I left w scripts for PT and an MRI. He thinks I have a pinched nerve in theC5 area from biopsies and surgeries along with post mastectomy pain syndrome. There's atrophy of my left pectoral muscle- no surprise there. He gave me three trigger point injections. TBH I felt even worse yesterday. My pain level was really high and ibuprofen wasn't working. Went to bed feeling dejected and this morning it still hurts. Sorry to be such a complainer! Thanks for listening!

DD and I did make the Shakti FB page as we went to class Thanksgiving morn together.

Falconer, love the leggings in perfect pose! Ahh boo on the injections not kicking-in and still dealing with pain. Maybe it takes time? Is little DS in a Christmas play? Ruth, nice WWW Christmas photo. Jo, good to read surgery is over and healing well. Your home must look lovely. Cheryl, have BB #83 quarterly to attend tomorrow, locally as LM are coming to town.

Had an interesting conversation with a woman at the gym this afternoon. Her brother died in public from heart failure and no defibrillator was available. There is currently no legislation in the UK which obliges certain businesses or premises to provide a automated external defibrillator (AED) but under English law, there can be liability in negligence for failing to take appropriate safety precautions and having them available on premises (the gym has one) . This woman is making it her mission to get AED's in as many public places as possible. The UK survival rate is around 8%, which is low. I've never had AED training and thinking to do so and I've never witnessed a public CPR but do carry a pocket mask in my work bag. Off to chill and read (Falconer, it is an excellent book!). Have a good weekend everyone!

Well my p.m. exercise class was just cancelled...but I have been to 6 classes this week, Sun - Thursday, so that is pretty good. Will be getting a good walk in tonight as we head off for a Service of Lessons and Carols to kick-off the holiday season...our church is just over a mile from our home, so church then off to a bistro for dinner (and wine) and then a good walk home.

Great start to the weekend, Best to all, TT

Hi, I'm doing a quick check-in before I go off yo yoga.

I hope your shots kick in Falconer. Being in pain IS so discouraging and wearing.

I've had a couple busy days. Yesterday morning I had the annual physical with my GP. All is well.....other than the fact that I'm due for a routine colonoscopy and we got a date set up.....yuck. Something interesting in the doctor's notes is that I have "excellent peripheral pulses" which I directly attribute exercise! After the appointment I ran around doing more Christmas shopping and at noon reported to the school to sub for my 7th grade history teaching friend. After school, more shopping & then POUND & then I stayed for PiYo. Two teachers just got certified so we were their trial run class.......man, was I sore last night!!! I subbed in the same classroom all day today so have been emmersed in the mystery of history.

    Good morning!

A crisp, cold morning here. It's been 5 weeks now from my lumpectomy and although the seroma is still there, things look much better. I have started doing orange theory 4 times a week for the last 2 weeks. Feels so good to start feeling fit again. I am going to OT again today at 11am, and then meeting with a friend for a day of walking around and enjoying myself. In a particularly good mood today so wanted to share!😘 A happy mind, happy body👍

Forgot to mention, I am having the radiation simulation on Dec 6th to get that going. In January, they will start me with lupron and an AI. Trying to become as fit as possible by the time I am put into early menapouse. I am sure you lovely ladies have experience with how exercise helped with easing into endocrine therapy. Would love to hear some encouragement!😀

nomaddd, we, and all the researchers know how exercise helps us be healthier in mind and body no matter what we are facing in our lives! Your idea of maximizing your fitness effort when you feel well is a good one, and when you feel not so well, find a low level activity to do....walk a few minutes etc.

I am back to the UTI every 4 weeks schedule after going 7 months without. Took ABX for full 7 days and 2 days later symptoms returned! I've been spending more time after work just working on reports and not working out, so the plan is to get to the gym when I take DD to her therapist.

Keren, you will appreciate that I have all my annual and re-evals due by the middle of feburary. That's over 25 reports and all that goes with it in less than 16 weeks. I have a hard time getting to work out when I have that hanging over my head. I also have my annual observation and TCI training and parent teacher conferences. I'd better stop thinking about it or I will get depressed!

Falconer, I have to say you look great in that photo, kudos that you keep moving even with all your pain. Who is the dr you saw? Is there a specific PT the dr is sending you too? I hope you feel some relief soon. My good friend from work has a brother in Woodstock. Small world.

Sorry to not comment on everyone's successes. You have all been keeping me going! Here's to a new day and knowing we are really close to the longest night here in the northern hemisphere! These dark nights are hard for me!
