Jo - lucky she has you to listen... I also find it hard to run when I'm sad - walking is good, glad you are doing that. Self-care is very important at difficult times.

Yesterday ran 3 miles and then weights. Today yoga and walking.

I'm so sorry about your friend, Jo. Sometimes all you can do is listen.

Here's the Walking Women this morning. At noon I am going to try out a new class called Lunch Barre. It's a half hour class people can sneak over and do on their lunch hour, so I am intrigued. I will go to Dance2fit tonight.

ruth-thanks. Went to see my opthamologist today for a follow-up visit from my Right cataract surgery. Much to my surprise I'm going to have left cataract removal on December 10th. My diagnosis is medically induced cataracts. Chemo is the gift that keeps on giving. The surgery is very easy though. The problem is I'm not allowed to run or do any strenuous exercise for a week. Last week I used my recuperation time to work on Christmas decorations. Next week maybe I will actually focus on catching up with paperwork.

Mickey- I'm able to run when I'm sad. Running is uplifting. My head wasnt in it. Tonight I ran and refocused my energy. Thanks

traveled to nyc today and then worked this afternoon/evening

Just now in room...140 minutes of activity and 20,000 steps...that is my definition of walking machine but Varga outdoes us all

Over the last week I've been doing my usual things: personal training twice a week, walking, some water exercise, various exercises at home, and groundwork with my horse, Rosie. Today, for the first time since June, I climbed into the saddle and let her do the walking. It felt SO GOOD!

Love the red truck and WWW pics! Welcome Mickey and Rocky! TT great work. We all know what it's like to walk in Varga's footsteps. Loopy Jo probably best to get it all done. Wishing you speedy healing. My eyes are also deteriorating, ugh.

Ran 3K and did weights, including a workout with an 8K kettlebell.

I missed the Valencia Marathon again this year. The thought of paella was not enough to motivate me. Maybe I should plan on something closer to home if I ever want to join an official race. This one along the Aare River next fall looks like a family affair. Maybe I could convince DD to run with me.

    Good morning ladies!

Jo so wonderful what you are doing.

Great job to all! Terrific workouts, walks, runs, etc. Such a busy time of year, any forward motion is a great thing! And keeps us sane and pleasant, at least me anyway! 😊

I am still participating in my holiday running challenge! Getting in 95% of the workouts. Yesterday I did yoga and the "Deck The Stairs" workout. A 40 min workout which consisted of running up and down my stairs for 2 min at a time and doing various strength exercises (squats, pushups, planks, triceps dips, lunges, etc) at the landing for a few minutes and then repeating the up/down steps and strength exercises for the entire 40 min. A lot of fun and I didn't even have to leave my house! No workout today, attending a Christmas concert with some friends this evening. Tomorrow I will run 4.

runnermum- My training for a half-marathon has come to a standstill. I cannot get past eight and a half miles. Once I get to the 8 Mile mark I start having issues with my knees and ankles. At one time you had provided me with a training app. I am unable to locate it would you be so kind as to provide the information again? I love this time of the year. It's perfect weather for outside activities. I know those of you in North Dakota and Montana and a few other places might disagree.

    Rocky-Great work

jo...think I gave you both halhidgdon.com and another mother runner websites. Is this your first half? Have you tried incorporating walk'breaks? I believe there is a program by Jeff Galloway that incorporates walk breaks. That may help you accomplish the distance? I have had some runner friends use it. Will try to find that for you too. Also do you do any core and leg strength trainjng? I MUST strength train and do some weekly yoga or I am prone to injuries. Some runners shy away as they feel it will make them sore but makes a huge difference for me. You dont need to do much...a couple 10-15 sessions each week can make a huge difference. I will post some links.

Ran 3 miles and then did weights today. Then went to the dentist for a crown and a filing. Tired now, amazed at those of you who exercise in the morning and again in the evening, that is really something! And doing half-marathons - can't imagine - pretty awesome!

runnermum- I started using Jeff Galloway's techniques after my BMX in Jan of 2018. I find after 8 Miles I'm walking more than I'm running. I will check out the short yoga videos . Thanks

I wanted to share with you my annual Christmas card. Usually I get dressed up in heels and glam for my annual card with my furbabies. This year I went a more casual route.

Still in NYC and started my day walking 1.5 miles up Broadway from World Trade Center to NYU...

Originally got on subway and immediately the conductor announced there was a medical emergency, heart attack, and police and EMS coming, train not going.  Wow.

Got out of subway and walked.  A cold start to my day, but walking up Broadway with the Chrysler Building as my north star up the street in the far distance...actually not a bad start to the day...especially versus the poor soul having a heart attack in the subway!

    Perspective.

    Happy Friday, TT

Walked to my local post office to mail out a couple of things today and walked home. Had my hubby home all day as he's sick with a terrible cold so I have been taking care of him, so after dinner I am going to workout tonight.

Had time for 20 minutes on the treadmill. Tonight we are off the the little DS snow ball. Maybe I'll get a little dancing in!

jo: Love your red truck pillow and especially your card. So cute! So sorry about your friend.

TT: Perspective for sure. Hope the person made it.

    Falconer: Dance on!

Like M0mmy's dh, I also am sick. My "not feeling good" turned into the crud. Went to the doctor and was given an antibiotic and steroid. Trying to get better.

We are expecting anywhere from 8 to 12 inches of snow starting in the early hours of Sunday. As you can imagine, the grocery stores are emptied of milk and bread. Tomorrow morning we are going to pick out our Christmas tree. Going to be fun decorating it while it's snowing outside!

Wonderland- what a beautiful image, picking out the tree and decorating it with snow outside. I don't envy you having to drive in snow. As artistic as you are. I bet your decorations are gorgeous. Post pictures. But then again we have a very cool 74 degrees this morning and high of 79 today. So I'll be running this evening. I'm on my way to work. This afternoon I'm co-hosting a baby shower and hopefully I'll be home by 6. Afterwards, time for a run and play time with the fur babies

Went to a step class yesterday and today will run. No snow or balmy weather here, but a brisk 15 degrees! Will layer up - nothing like the feeling of finally getting warm during a run when it's frigid outside! If it's too much, I'll abort and head to the gym...

Jo, you have to run when it's 15 degrees, if you slow down you will freeze to the sidewalk!

I have a touch of something too. I subbed yesterday; since I felt eating wouldn't be a good idea, I brought along a couple of bottles of Gatorade, survived the day, came home and slept 11 hours!! I feel better this morning so hopefully it was a 24 hour thing. I will probably do a little time on the treadmill later.

Only exercise I got today so far is getting the Christmas lights up outside with hubby’s help. Took a little bit of work and brain power on trying to remember how we strung them up last year but it’s done

Jo/ruth- it had warmed up to 20 degrees by the time I got out, so still need to move in order to stay warm, but somehow out of the teens felt better! Today I'm resting - last week was able to exercise 6 days in a row - haven't done that in years - so only exercise will be church, groceries and errands and then being a bit of a couch potato watching football - Patriot's country here :)

MOmmyof2 - DH used to have that issue every year and then started to write notes for where each light set was when he took them down and it was so much easier the following year.
