How wonderful Falconer and hope you both have a super time! Good news Claire. Wonderland, hope all settles soon - thinking of ya! Fritzmylove, you read as strong and good work. TT, taking a yin training in July and I like how it makes me feel too. Octo, good luck on packing and keeping strength and sanity intact.
Spent the day yesterday in a yurt, in a field on a yoga psoas workshop and restorative yoga included, taught by Brea Johnson, who is coming to an end of her Heart&Bones tour. Twas a early 7am, two hour drive, yet rather special to hear birds singing and rabbits hopping past the sheet-plastic windows, with a wood-fed pot belly stove for heat on a chilly, continually passing rain to sunshine April Saturday. Needless to say, was feeling rather sore last night when I made it home and teaching Pilates this morning helped, for finally, feel better. Chilling out for the rest of the day with Sunday papers, laundry, taking our old collie for a walk and later, watching who wins the Masters.

Ruth - love the area rug - gad they found it - I had one similar till a few years ago when it got infested and had to throw it out///don't remember what the little things were called or how they got there. Now I'm careful to vacuum my area rungs every week - that one was in my spare bedroom/office and didn't vacuum it often as it didn't get used much........Haven't even bothered to look for another one...
Need to get in high gear today and get out all my passover stuff to make sure I have all pots/pans, utensils and anything else I need for the week. I'll start cooking Thursday night and Friday. My Daughter #1 and SIL arrive Thursday morning and are here till the 28th. I will miss not having my other 2 kids here. I have one guest the first sedar and none the second. so 5 the first night and only the 4 of us the second night. No company for any shabbat or yom tov (holiday lunches). As usual, I'll have too much food. I told my husband that I was making brisket one night and turkey breast the other night and he wants both so there is a choice. DH and DD also want chicken soup - wasn't planning on making for the sedar as their is always too much food. Oh well. DH is smoking the brisket, turkey breast and a couple whole chickens so I don't have to cook them! Feeling a little overwhelmed because its also busy at work. I start a new maternity leave tomorrow morning two days/week.
Have a great Sunday.

Karen, it's Claire's rug. But I'll take it if she doesn't want it.
Pound & Yoga today for me.

Watching the Masters on tv and dreaming of being somewhere warm while it snows here in Chicagoland. Will probably do some elliptical at some point today. Won’t be getting any activity outside unless the snow accumulated enough to warrant some shoveling. Spring, where’d you go??

Winter is back here! We took a family hike in the snow.

LB, I understand your soreness after a psoas workshop. The whole workshop? Mama.
Heidi and Fritz, sorry you have winter your way.
TH- wonder what those flowers are? Seem to have the shape of a marsh marigold, but I haven’t seen those in white.
Karen- hope all goes smoothly for you this week
Today little DS and I walked, then skip raced, along the creek. Then yard work before the rain comes East.

Exercise today for me was hauling crates of Spring/Summer clothes down to exchange them with the Fall/Winter wardrobe.

I too was watching the masters and dreaming of warmer weather. Exercise indoors, Canadian Airforce workout and RBG. Now rest. I am off today as I worked Saturday. Cheering on my Toronto Maple Leafs, raptors and Blu Jays keeping me busy lol.

I do not want warmer weather. It was 91 degrees the day of my niece's wedding. Of course, it was an outdoor wedding on a ranch. The wedding was beautiful. A couple of minor glitches and everything else went great. The heat was oppressive but the guests didn't seem to care. The band was great, the bar was open and the food was delicious. The reception was supposed to have ended at 1 a.m. but the owners told us we could stay until 4 AM. Most of the younger guests stayed until 4 am. My sisters and I left at 2 a.m. It was in a rather remote area but we had several Uber drivers on call. My motto is Do not drink and drive. I wasn't drinking at all. I was too busy. Tonight I'm going to run a few miles.

Walked puppies & went to Zumba. DH & I have been talking about switching banks for years (to move over to the institution DS has been working with for the past 6 years) and are finally in the process of doing so.....which, with all the direct deposits, online banking etc. that a person does now-days, is a real pain in the you-know-what.

I stole this from Phylis's Facebook page:

Watching the sunset after a hectic day of working from home. I did sneak in a 4 mile run which I needed for my sanity.
Just taking in the destruction at Notre Dame. Fortunately the towers....and it appears the altar....have been spared. I once got to celebrate Christmas Midnight Mass there.
Enjoying my rug immensely.
Can't believe that it's only Monday. YIKES!!!! - Claire

claire- I'm not religious but I love the Notre Dame. What a heartbreaking loss. I cannot tell you the number of times I've walked in the church to admire the stunning stained glass windows.

Hi Ladies! This is my first post in this forum. Before my diagnosis 4 months ago, I was a very healthy, active 46 year old who loves all things outdoors. I'm a vegetarian and I teach exercise for a living. I'm finally feeling less fatigued since finishing all active treatment(radiation) nearly 3 weeks ago, so I'm back to my regular routine. Today I went for a 3.5 mile walk/jog(walk for 3 minutes, jog for 1). Felt great to get back out there! Weather here in NH is perfect--54 degrees and sunny. I'll be starting tamoxifen soon and I'm hoping and praying it doesn't affect me too badly so I can continue with my exercise! Cheers all!

getting ready to run 3 or 4 miles. I met my new oncologist today. She is very warm, compassionate and professional. Overall, I was pleased with the whole process. As she's following the same protocol as my former oncologist which means no scans unless there's an issue with my blood work, complaints or physical examination. I'm very pleased. I am very glad I did not driving downtown Miami. I walked a half a mile to the metro rail station and took Metro to downtown. From there it was only one and a half blocks away to the Sylvester Cancer Center. All good.

Welcome, Kec1972! When I started Arimidex, one of my friends who was already on it gave me this advice, "Keep moving, keep moving, keep moving." So I did, and I believe that helped a lot with any potential side effects. A regular routine is wonderful, isn't it?!!!
I went to Pound this morning, out to lunch with a friend, and then; since it was the first day one could be outside without some sort of jacket, I ditched the errands and took the dogs for a very long walk. It's supposed to rain (not snow) tomorrow, so we are making progress weather-wise!

Jo - glad you liked your new onc
Welcome KEC
There is some crazy 18 year old girl who the FBI is looking for in Colorado who they consider armed and dangerous - she has made credible threats to repeat a "Columbine" tragedy. Reportedly she was last seen in the foothills west of Denver. She made a threat to the Colorado Department of Education. NO specific schools were named. I was in class after work when I heard about it. When I got home at 7:00 hubby showed me the video from the local news station of Jefferson County Sheriff. DH said the story was the first thing on the national news - and unfortunately, they showed video clips from the Columbine shooting 20 years ago - it wasApril 20, 1997 that changed so many people's lives forever.

All schools in the metro Denver area are closed today due to the above situation. Law enforcement was supposed to meet with school districts at 3:30, but by midnight, my school district, DPS had called off schools. I always wake up around 2:30 am to pee and checked emails and saw that schools were closed. I was still up at 5:30. My DD#2 saw me online at 2:30 am and texted me to find out why I was up and on Whatsapp. She texted me to tell me to call her when I woke up so at 5:30 she called me - we talked to for almost an hour. Over 60000 miles away she was worried about me. She wondered if I would be working on the crisis team because of this whole ordeal. She is worried that there may be other people involved with this crazy woman. She thinks schools should be closed the rest of the week and said that I would be very busy next week because of the situation. For 21, DD#2 is wise beyond her years. I'm not worried but it is unsettling - and how long do schools stayed closed?
That said, I really glad to have the day to finish getting ready for Passover. I can run errands today, get my hair cut and start cooking - all things that I would have to do after work and not have enough time. DD#1 and SIL arrive tomorrow morning. Looking forward to having them here.
Wishing everyone a great day!

It’s so scary to think that one person can force an entire city to shut down school. It makes me nervous sending my 4 and 6 year old to school every day if I let myself think about it too much. It’s clear that we have a mental health crisis happening in the US
Just got in from a brisk 2.5 mile walk around the neighborhood. It’s in the 50’s right now, and there’s a bit of a breeze, so my ears were freezing, but the rest of me was sweating. Not the best feeling 😂

Fritz - I've been working in the public schools since 1992 and remember OKC, Columbine, 9/11 and being at work - times have changed so much. My kids are all grown. But I still feel schools are safe - I generally don't worry going to work everyday. I have mixed feelings about all the school closings, but student (and staff) safety needs to always come first.

What a scary situation. Made more scary by the fact that it doesn't even surprise me anymore when there is a school shooting. It could happen to any of us......and, judging from the lack of action, that is apparently okay.....but that is for another (hidden political) thread.......
It is raining (not snowing) today so we Wednesday Walkers were back inside; after which we went over to the local college for a yummy breakfast at their cafeteria (which is why so many walkers are dressed in their school colors). I am wearing a tee shirt I just bought that says, "Sunny Skies Ahead". I am going to Lunch Barre in a few minutes & Dance2Fit tonight.

The suspect has been found dead of self-inflicted gun shot wound so she is no longer a threat. School should resume tomorrow as "normal" whatever that means. As the news unfolds it appears that she was an 18 year old senior and her parents reported her as missing. I feel for her parents. Listening to the news, talking about safety is making schools safe and making kids feel safe in school. OF course those of us who work in the schools want to feel safe as well. I am teaching with a School SW later this month a two day training of crisis training - for School Social Workers and School Psychologists - not just for this type of incident but even a weather tragedy or anything else we can imagine!!! We are supposed to plan tomorrow, but I don't know if the powers to be will want us in a school. For the last month plus of the school year, I only have schools on M,T,W and TH is a variety of other things.
Ruth - love your pictures of the WWW - hope your rain doesn't turn to snow

I don't want to jinx anything, but I'm THINKING about putting the winter boots in the basement closet & the car scrappers in the trunk.....

karen- mental health issues and guns are never a good combination. I am so sick and tired of school shootings and threats of violence against children in schools.

For me, having the day off today was great to be able to get some things done that I needed to, though the reason for schools to close was sad
My kitchen is ready for Passover - now to start cooking tomorrow night and then all day Friday. Trying to get organized with menu planning and a to do list. The 1st sedar is Friday night so I have to be done by then.
Sweet dreams

karen-I am thinking about cooking a vegetarian meal for Passover. Any suggestions? I cook vegetarian dishes all the time. I'm interested in trying something new.
Good Night

welcome, KEC. Glad to hear that your physical fitness is returning. It's an up and down process for many of us, so keep encouraged even if sometimes you don't feel great.
Hi Fit friends! I'm writing from Southern California where we are taking our spring break. I'm so happy to be back as I was a student at UCSB receiving my Masters in education 20 years ago. It's been a memory lane kind of visit, for sure. Yesterday we hiked 5k on intense terrain with steep elevation gains. The views were stunning. My friend has the good camera so I can't share those pics. But I did take this selfie of the blue blue blue sky and the palm trees outside our place. Happy holidays everyone.

I'm hungry from reading Karen's post! I'm going Easter Dinner shopping (ham, cheesy potatoes, Easter Basket treats etc.) later this morning, to hopefully beat the weekend shoppers crowd.
Enjoy your vacation, Falconer. All pictures with blue skies and palm trees are welcome!
I'll do Zumba this morning & yoga tonight; shopping, errands, maybe a little hanging out with the dogs in-between.
