Hi everyone. Thank you Ruthbru - port placement went well. It's a bit sore and I look like I was attacked by a vampire. I'm waiting for it to heal a bit before I put on a running bra. Can't wait to get back to running, although I really never liked running before. ;) Glorious pictures Claire. Congrats on the ride. Fritz - I could never do push-ups so good for you! I wish I could do yoga or something meditative but I don't think I'm that seren.

Subbed, walked dogs, Dance2Fit. We're having a very late dinner because I forgot to get potatoes.....one of the three main ingredients of what I'm making. Geez!

Took some time for a long walk at lunch at work today..but most of my exercise this week has been picking up boxes, moving boxes, unpacking boxes....we are making progress on getting settled in our new home, but it is slow going!

Great Octo! DogMumRunner, perhaps this new report on Yoga and Cancer will offer a bit of inspiration . Hope you get back to running soon.

Sunny, clear blue-sky spring morning. Off to teach older ladies in Woodchurch, then Pilates at the local leisure centre, afterwards, yoga for cancer, and after that Pink Ribbon Pilates evening class. This is my long day of the week. Tomorrow, off with a friend for a seated yoga workshop in north London. Looking forward to this training. Let's keep at it!

What a cute buddy Ruth! My pup would just jump all over me and then chew on the weights. Thanks for the link Lilac. My sister is a yoga/tai chi instructor and has tried for years to get me to get me to do it. Maybe now would be a good time to start. Hi Octo, moving is hard work. I hope you get all settled in soon. I'm off for an MRI today after a long dog walk

Oh my gosh, Ruth your grand puppy is precious!! Octogirl, I'd say moving is great exercise! DogMom, good luck on the MRI!

The weather has finally dried up after a week+ of rain so I've been doing a lot of walking around the neighborhood. Today is my daughter's preschool end of the year party that I've been working on for the past few months as the VP of the PTA. I know I'll go above and beyond my step goals by the end of the night, but will try to get out this morning for a quick walk before rads.

ruth- your exercise buddy is adorable.

Dogmom- good luck with your MRI today.

We're expecting another day of thunderstorms hi gh 93 degrees. The blister on my left foot continues to impede my ability to run outside but I'm able to run barefoot on my treadmill. There are two runners on my nature path who never wear shoes.. I am not willing to run or power walk outdoors bare feet. My yard is as far as I will go without shoes on. Most of the time I'm having to chase my dogs in the yard to retrieve my shoes. Lol

Walked dogs in the park this morning, then to POUND, then DH & I cleaned out the garage, storage shed etc. (it's our city clean-up week, so if we get unwanted things out on the curb, the city (or scavengers) will take it away). Besides hauling stuff to the curb; we got out the hoses, patio furniture etc. This afternoon a friend & I took the puppies on a fun trail walk. DS & roommate will be home late tonight, so I can relinquish my full-time dog duties & go back to being the fun gramma.

Hi ladies. You encourage me! I lurk but don't post a lot. Ruthbru, in particular you are very consistent which is encouraging -- I'm trying to get my groove back after losing weight after treatment ( and now have gained a bit more than a smidge back). And my walking needs to pick up as the weather warms. Tomorrow a long walk!!

    Thank you all! Heart

Yay reader!! Ruth is a motivator, isn’t she? Along with all the other ladies, this board encourages me to keep moving.

I’m slowing down considerably this morning. I’m really feeling the effects of radiation, and taking it easy today. I’ll still get my miles in as it’s a gorgeous 70* day, but it’ll take much longer. And as much as the sun gives me a boost of positivity, I’m trying to hide my skin from it as much as possible.

Posting what I do MAKES me exercise!😀

The Wednesday Walking Women walked on a nice path at the Regional Medical Center, which is on the outskirts of our town. I'll go to Dance2fit tonight.

DS got home from his Alaska adventure late last night. I'm giving the house a good cleaning now that I am off doggie-duty. The puppy figured out how to start the car last night (she sneaked the keys off the table and was fooling around with it,......all of the sudden I heard the car running in the garage!).

Okay, back to house cleaning I go!

My youngest son was home for Mother's day this year, and we celebrated on Saturday as he had to go to NYC on Sunday. We rode bikes down to the beach, a gorgeous day, and had lobster rolls at a clam shack. later that night he treated DH and I to dinner at our favorite place, combined mother and father's day present. Was a wonderful visit with him, he lives in London so we don't get to see him very often.

Other than the bike ride I have not been consistently exercising - a few days of classical stretch, but the weather here in the Northeast has been mostly cold and rainy, so no outside walking. Off tomorrow for a whirlwind visit with kids and grandson in DC, then on to a 90th birthday party in Virginia for a dear friends father.

pat- what a lovely celebration with your son. Bike ride, lobster rolls and great company.

Ruth- did I read your last post correctly? How did your grandpuppy start your car? I have all these visuals running through my mind right now. WOW.

Weather has cleared. I'm going for a three to four mile run.

Hi, I just joined the site and am excited to see the accountability to post what you're doing for exercise!

I went to ZUMBA GOLD today for the 2nd time---After 10 months of treatment it was so exciting to rock that class! (I'd been regularly doing deep water fitness and zumba a year ago in my "before breast cancer" life) So, I was a different shape and size but it was just as fun and as close as I've felt to "myself" in a year. Oh the joy of being "able" to do something!!!!

    Welcome walkinruth.

Ruth - scary to think that the puppy started the car - got to keep the keys higher up next time!!

I had my end of the year evaluation yesterday - it was the best one I've had ever and I've been a School Psychologist for many, many years - hope I can keep it at this level for the next 3 years - would be wonderful to go out on such a high!!! Don't get me wrong, the past several years, they've been quite good, but this year it was even better!!!

Almost time to count the days till the end of the school year. Last day of school is May 31st, but since I don't work Fridays, my last day is the 30th!!!

I think it got to 80 today - at my M,W school that I'm helping cover, I have recess duty - today I made sure to find some shade so not as many steps as some days - I'm outside for an hour, the last 30 minutes with 8th grade -

Starting to plan my summer. DD#2 just booked her trip back America in August. I signed up for a 2 day training the day she arrives - now I"m thinking maybe I'll cancel the training, but then again, I figure she will be tired for a day or so and we'll have a couple days together before i go back to work. She will travel 3 out of the 5 weeks she is in America to see friends, her sister and her grandmother, plus schedule dentist, pcp and all the other fun things!!

    Sweet dreams :)

Congratulations on your evaluation, Karen. I have no doubt at all that you totally deserve wonderful reviews!

I'm soon off to Zumba & will go to Yoga this evening.

Welcome, Walkinntruth and reader. I feel like the peer pressure here keeps me exercising.

Ruth, I think the dog is wanting to go for a car ride. You better teach the dog to open the garage first!

Pat, sounds like a great mother’s day. How nice to see your son.

Karen, good job and I know you look forward to your daughters homecoming.

We had a nice spell of sun and warmth this week. I did 2 hours of yard work Tuesday-so many weeds to pull and had great fun creating my fairy garden in the bed by the front door. Yesterday DH and I went to the lake for a hike. Chance of rain today may curtail outdoor activities, and thus, my fun.

Karen, way to go on the great eval!

TwoHobbies, a fairy garden sounds adorable! If I had anything close to a green thumb I might make one with my daughter.

Did a great jog/walk this morning. Good thing I got it done early because our area is currently under a tornado warning and thunderstorms will be moving through the area for the rest of the day/night.

I love the puppy starting the car! If only mine could start the car, drive to my work and do my job for me.

My husband and I started power walking this morning. He is recovering from a hip injury right before our half. And I am babying my right shoulder after port placement. As luck would have it, I had planned to start back running this Saturday and my surgeon called with the MRI results. The tumor is small enough for her to go ahead and do the lumpectomy. TOMORROW!! Guess I won't start back with the running just yet. I will have to just read about all of your adventures for another week

Good luck, dogrunner. What a genius dog, ruth. Great selfie, Claire. Kudos, karen on the evaluation.

Yesterday I was walking the dog and he all of a sudden decided to chase something on the other side of the creek. So I had to leap when he leapt, except I landed on a bush more horizontally than vertically. After that I gave warning to DD and DH that I will release my hold on the leash next time he even thinks of chasing something. He is still training to walk nicely on a leash but I am not allowed to try it myself until he has it down pat.

Zumba warmup, then arm workout with weights and Zumba music, and a Zumba cooldown. I finally recovered from a BodyPump class from a few days ago so could move my upper body again.

Ouch Heidi!! It’s amazing how powerful dogs can be when they’re motivated my something.

My walk was cut short this morning because of rain. I’m lucky I was able to get the 3 miles in that I did. Friday’s are when I clean the main living areas of the house including vacuuming and mopping, so that should get me moving more this afternoon.

Yikes, Heidi! Glad you are okay.

Aqua Zumba this morning and, since I sort of miss my dogly companions, I will probably take them for (a hopefully uneventful) walk this afternoon.

Heidi - glad you are okay. We've had many dogs over the years - when my youngest was 5 or 6 we had an English bulldog (we got him when she was 1) - winter time and she is walking Sarge - snow every where - Sarge decides to pull and go see something - and he ended up pulling DD horizontal across the snow. DH was with her and they still laugh about it when they talk about Sarge.

Two weeks and counting till I'm officially on summer break!!! Hoping these last two weeks are fairly calm!!

Best keep busy with vacuuming, cooking and another long walk. Had a great walk at 7 this morning.....it was gorgeous.

Hi and thank you for all the positive replies. Surgery went well and we even went on a dog walk this afternoon. My dog Carmen pulls at times so I am off leash duty for awhile
