Dogmom - glad surgery went well.....I don't walk my dog (125# St Bernard) as I can't hold onto her if she pulls. Thankfully she does her business in the back yard - She's 10+ so old for a Saint.

I'm really bummed - a friend who I med here on the boards, who I've met in person was just diagnosed stage 4. Its always in the back of my mind, but when I hear of someone turning stage 4, it hits hard. We don't just need a cure, we need to prevent this dreaded disease.

I got the nicest snapfish card with an even better letter from DD#2. This is the 3rd year she has sent one since she's not here for my birthday. I'm so lucky to have 3 great kids.

Wishing everyone a great Friday night and Saturday :)

karen- so sorry to hear about your friend progressing in the stage four. Try to remain positive. There are a lot of stage 4 individuals on these threads that are doing great. It is scary though. Summer break is just around the corner.

I have a 10K tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to it, then I have a long work day. Hope all of you continue to keep on moving.

A cold, rainy day here. I did a very unusual thing for me; I skipped my Saturday exercise class and slept in. I did 45 goeminutes of pilates with Denise Austin & walked on the treadmill this afternoon.

Karen, I hope your friend will respond to treatment & goes into remission for a long, long, long time. Heart

Dogmomrunner- the 10K went great yesterday. I'm getting ready to run a 5k this morning.

Ruth- It must have been a very dreary day if you slept in. Or maybe your body was telling you to take a little rest. Have a wonderful day

We are off to South Dakota for two family graduations. So......probably a day with lots of cake and no exercise!

Dog mom. I am glad your surgery went well and that you got in a walk.

Karen, so sorry for your friend. I do wish we had a cure.

Yesterday was yard work boot camp again. Two hours of mowing and trimming hedges. I have 292 minutes logged for the week. Nicer weather helps. Today I planted some flowers and one container but not really enough to count as exercise.

Fritz, I am not that creative but I have a good time with my fairy garden. You should definitely try it with your daughter. There are tons of ideas on pinterest for inspiration. Here is my work in process.

twohobbies- your fairy garden is adorable. My dogs think anything on the ground is a toy. I place large plastic Easter eggs out and within two to three days the Easter eggs are chewed to shreds. LOL the crazy thing is they never touch my Halloween or Christmas decorations. Who knows? Maybe my Halloween and Christmas decorations do not look like toys.

Jo - I know lots of long term stage IV gals - just hate hearing of another one.....Thanks everyone for your thoughts.....

Gray dreary day today - went for a run this morning, but nothing else....thinking of walking up and down the stairs to the basement several times.....too lazy to go out in the damp. Tomorrow and Tuesday rain and in the high 40s and 50s.

Booked my summer travel - exhausting coordinating it all.

    Sweet dreams

    7 more days!!!

We had a very fun day with the family. A great-niece & nephew graduated from high school in DH's home town. We got there a little early so drove out & poked around the old farmstead where DH grew up. I danced to Marshall Fitness for about an hour when I got home (it's a crazy guy on the internet....kind of like a modern day Richard Simmons.....who does routines to popular songs). Easy & fun (if you like to dance). We are under a FROST ADVISORY for tonight.....I am glad I follow my gardener dad's advice and don't plant before Memorial Day (speaking of my dad, today would have been his 99th birthday).

Hi everyone - well I was doing well until we removed the bandages. I started feeling lightheaded and before my husband could sit me down, I fainted. Maybe not quite a faint because I was conscious. I hit my mouth on the counter (marble stupidly hard surface) and chipped a front tooth, loosened the front two and lacerated my mouth. I posted elsewhere later about it on this board (on one of the rant threads because it was a really down moment for me) and I didn't want to be a downer here. Doing better today and will hopefully get my snaggletooth/hockey playing tooth look fixed at the dentist tomorrow.

Oh no, Dogmom. That is not what you needed right now. Take it easy and be careful.

Oh no, dogmom! Some things are definitely downers, and you can talk about those things here too. Be gentle with yourself. Let your mouth settle down before you do anything in the way of exercise (or even moving around a lot).

I stopped by the school to talk to someone, and came out an hour later having consumed a piece of banana cake and a donut (it's the last week here). Yikes!

I have an unexpected family issue and will fly to TN at 4:00 am Tuesday. My almost 85 year old mother and 71 year old Aunt decided to take a road trip from Fort Myers Florida to Tennessee. My aunt is not in good health and she's very anxious about driving through cities. So I will fly out and I'll be there chauffeur for 5 days.

Oh my, good for them for wanting to go on a Road Trip, and good for you, Jo, for making it possible.

My friend and I took the dogs out for a walk in the country. We came upon some horses, which fascinated Astra. She didn't want to leave! Zumba tonight.

dogmom, hope your dentist can fix you right up; that is scary! and I hope your time in Tennessee is a nice break, Jo, and yes, good for you for making it possible!

Ruth, I can relate on the frost issue: so, I was going to go for a walk at the office today (have I mentioned there are miles of hiking trails just outside my office?): but it started snowing!!! Snow may continue through tonight with temps at about 32 outside and dropping fast; drive home was a bit dicey with both sleet and snow, thank goodness for Subarus! I am SOOO done with winter, I just wish it was done with us!

    Hi to everyone,

Sadly I can't remember the last time I posted. More than a year probably. I am back with a goal to try again at getting into hiking shape. First though I have to have more surgery. Once I recover from that I need to be active and I miss all of your great stories and posts.

    karen-looks like winter to me.

Ruth- unfortunately this spur-of-the-moment trip meant a very expensive plane ticket. I have already flown out to meet them. I don't mind being a chauffeur. I'm grateful my mother and Aunt have a spirit for Adventure.

Jo, in the end you won't remember the money; you'll remember the memories you are helping to create.

I am off to POUND & then either am going to clean windows, spot clean carpet, or clean out the spare bedroom which has boxes of unopened 'stuff' that DH brought home with him when he retired (5 years ago).

Wow - nice pictures. We will hit 90 something this coming week here. I would love snow. My dentist made it look better but I will definitely be looking at braces at some point. My snaggletooth looks like it is trying to escape my mouth (well after that I can’t blame it). Good news is that I am back up to dog walking strength and hopefully can get some miles in soon. Good on you Jo, for helping your family

Did two loads of laundry and then I decided to surprise my hubby by cutting the grass. Haven't done that in three years when he couldn't because of a broken wrist as a result from a car accident. Took me a half hour to cut the grass. Hubby would have done it but he will be late getting home from work because the college where he works has graduation later today and he has to be there.

DogMomRunner: What a horrible thing to happen to you! Glad your dentist was able to help. Wonder what made you faint....

Vargadoll: So sorry about your dear FIL. HeartIt's never easy.

Karen and Octo: Wow! Snow! It's hot here and will only get hotter.

    Jo: Have fun in TN!

    TH: Love your fairy garden!!!

Ruth: Which chore did you end up doing?

    M0mmy: Mowing is hard work!

Hi Everyone! I caught up on all the posts since the last time I posted. Last week I had my second opinion about my afib. He switched my meds and it has taken some time to get adjusted. I mowed last week and it didn't go well. Mowing again tomorrow and hope it goes better. Yesterday I pulled weeds and other yard work for several hours. Last year we had a new deck built and I stained most of it except for a small portion that wasn't ready to be stained. So today I stained that portion. I hope to never have to stain a deck again! All those little posts that have 4 little sides to paint! It's been on my list of things-I-need-to-do-this-year so now I can mark it off.

We too SHOULD stain the deck this summer; but it is so much work that it can probably be put off one more year. I ended up spot steaming the carpets and got a good start at cleaning out the spare bedroom closet. Shhhh......don't tell, but I threw out a big garbage bag full of DH's 'stuff'......manila envelops, dried up pens, cords & keys to who know what, stuck together peppermint candies etc. etc. I also made a pile of things for him to go through, and another pile of things I brought down in the basement to be gone through later. Tonight I tried out a new class; Strength & Core. Hard, but probably what I need.

A rather cold, rainy, miserable day. Some of the Wednesday Walking Women walked outside, some walked in. Here we are at breakfast. I'll go to Dance2fit tonight.
