Salsa, thanks for sharing the link, I've got 7 minutes to spare! edj3, you can modify using forearms, which is dolphin. You will still feel the pull of the armpit on the scar - go easy. There is also a modification using a chair, but doubt you would care for that modification. I think you will be ok with dolphin and with 1 node removed, less likely to have issues occurring from lymphedema. Dogrunnermum, qigong is wonderful. I've been to a few Joe Lok workshops and in my seated tai chi, we include open door five. Falconer, well, let's see how I hold up with yin and assume it's 5 at least minutes for each pose, yet practice looks to be a few hours each of the 7 days. My 200 ytt was very 'off piste', contemporary movement based training (taught by card carrying atheist, no issues there by me, yet he thought 8 limbs and anything yoga esoteric - total bullshit - none of that ever covered) so hoping to fill yoga philosophical gaps of knowledge as well. TwoHobbies, when I read of those ticks, yuck and not worth blackberry picking - with you on that! Octo, like that you get comp time for volunteering - how cool is that!

Need to get this day going, slowly learning new release, ds is here and back to uni town on train tomorrow and I have to load crv with mats, blocks, bands etc.. for pink ribbon pilates @ 11am. Have a good start to the week everyone!

Great angle, salsa! I felt like you were about to mow me down when I saw the pic. Whoa! Dogmom and all, think about moving your workouts in nature or do some forest bathing, according to this new study

    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/jun/1...

Combined dance and standing abs workout yesterday but indoors. I did spend a ton of hours hiking in the mountains over the weekend so it was good to give my skin a rest. Will post photos from my phone.

Homemadesalsa think I mentioned this already--my folks live in Nampa, they're getting pretty old so we're having a family reunion in Stanley over the 4th of July week. My sons absolutely loved kayaking in the river there but my mom warned me the rivers are all really high still, from all the snow. Still it will be lovely, and we'll get to hang out and have fun.

And I forgot to mention today is a rest day. I'm terrible about actually taking rest days so it's kind of a big deal when I do it.

I just got done with a morning of house cleaning (blah). I'm off to mat pilates in a few minutes & will go to Zumba tonight. I will probably do something fun with the dogs this afternoon. Astra gets neutered tomorrow & I imagine she'll will be off the enthusiastic puppy mode for a couple days after that.

Heidi, that appears to be the Swiss Alps. Which suits your online name. Definitely not the Scottish Highlands.

I did my full workout yesterday, but today I got nervous about some shoulder pain, so just did half an hour on the recumbent bike. No trainer was in to answer my question.

Heidi: I want to go hiking with you! HeartGorgeous!

Fast walked early this evening in 93 degree heat and humidity. Next time I'll be thinking of Heidi's pictures to help me!

These pictures won't be stunning like Heidi's.....but they are kind of fun. We have a little Frontier Village at the edge of our town; old buildings, old machines, tourist shops, stagecoach rides etc. etc. On one hill overlooking the village is the National Buffalo Museum, on the other is 'The Worlds Largest Buffalo'. A herd of buffalo spends the summer in the valley. Since it was a nice, cool day; I decided it would be a fun place for a Doggy Field Trip.

ruth- in the mid- 1990s I traveled through the Dakotas, Montana,Wyoming and Nebraska. During those six weeks I tried to see things which were a little bit off the beaten track. I had a wonderful time at the Buffalo Museum. The bison were so majestic. It was a lovely town with friendly people. I went during the summer time. The pictures of you and the grand puppies were great.

That is awesome, jo! They've really updated the museum so it's even better now. Come back! Happy

Checked everything off my "to do" list today. Met a gf for coffee this morning and we chatted for a couple hours. Lots of catching up to do. Went through the hall bathroom linen closet - it was overflowing!! Several bags of towels and towels added to the give aways. going to take everything tomorrow. Need to finish up one kitchen counter, go through a wall closet with way too many things and then I think I'm ready to tackle the crawl space!! Of course, that is a long term project. I still have to find a couple things I put away for safe keeping that I don't remember where I put them!!

Supposed to meet another gf tomorrow morning for a walking get together - hoping the rain holds off till at least the afternoon.

    Sweet dreams

Hi edj3- Lilac’s the expert- dolphin instead of a full down dog will take the pressure off of the pectorals- you’re good to be in the trapezius muscles of the upper back. In PT my therapist noted a rounding forward of my shoulders and worked on reversing that by strengthening my upper back. I don’t think that the “push through the pain” philosophy of working out applies to our upper bodies after bc surgeries- do take it easy. Best- Falconer

Heidihill- what a cool place to be!

    All are looking lovely, active.

Thanks, Falconer, don't know why I didn't think of that!

Just over four mile run this morning. It's super foggy and humid today, we're on tap for more thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. Ah Kansas in the summer.

Good morning ladies! I have been gone to long! The past 2 months have been challenging my father in law passed away and both our cats crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I am ready to get back on track now! I did not read any post but will try to go back to mid May and catch up. Fingers that everyone is doing well and ready for summer.

Yesterday I did laps for 30 minutes in the pool. I was so thankful for 88 degrees yesterday! We have had several days of rain and the pool temp dropped to 77 which is to cold for my LE. It blows me up! I wasnt brave enough to wear my Fitbit in the pool. I have the Charge 3 and it is supposed to be waterproof. I would love to know of anyone else has one and has tested the water...haha!

Raining now and predicted to rain off and on all day. Had I known I would not have cleaned my Suburban so well yesterday!🙄

Have a great day! I'll try to back track and read a little each day

Varga, I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL and two fur babies. My condolences to you and your family.

Meeting a gf shortly at Washington Park - great walking path - we should be able to get close to 10K steps chatting if the rain holds off.

    Have a great day.

    Varga sorry for your loss.

    All the pics are awesome.

I am trying to find exercise that doesn't increase pain. Walk 3 km and yoga. I haven't done much yoga in about 6 months, so good to get back to it felt good.

Hugs to you, Varga. I wore my new Fitbit Inspire in the pool and it really works! If it says it's waterproof, then it is. Be brave and plunge that arm right in.

My Book Club went on our annual eat/shop/read/repeat road trip (to a larger town with a Barnes & Noble, more stores & more restaurants). We are on our 21st year and 247th book. A really fun day with a fun group of ladies. No formal exercise, but I'm at 9,000 steps so will probably tromp around the house for awhile until I get to 10,000.

Weights & abs today. My left arm and pec are fried, could be from rads. Only 8 more treatments (5 of them boosts) so I see the finish line.

Varga, my condolences on your FIL and beloved cats. MCBaker, yes, I am in the Swiss Alps for that hike. Wonderland, would love to be hiking buddy to you or anyone who makes it here. Ruth, you have the funniest and cutest pics.

I just checked with my insurance as I am racking up a huge PT bill. It looks like I have a $5,000 limit per year. I hope I can make it within the limit for the next six months otherwise I'll have to go somewhere where it's cheaper. (Italy or Greece come to mind, the further south the better.) My tight neck issues keep recurring. Doctor says I have several Independent factors that may be causal. Tell me about it. (like radiation to the spine, supraclavicular area, chest wall and axilla, for starters?) The good news is that the pain is so much better this week. I couldn't carry a heavy pack on our hike nor take the dog's leash but did use the poles extensively going downhill. It must have loosened up my muscles.

Did a combined Zumba Strong, kettlebell Tabata and deep yoga stretch workout. I gotta get out to at least dip my toes in the lake today but salsa is scheduled for the next 3 days. I am helping the teacher out in her other classes. Then it's another weekend of hiking.

My shoulders are bothering me, I am going to have to concentrate on lower body and core for a while. I thought I could work harder on upper body in preparation for surgery, but I guess it is not to be. Recovery from surgery is also going to facilitate healing of shoulder muscles from other insults. I did the recumbent bicycle and leg machines yesterday, need to get some core work also today.

Never been to the Swiss Alps, but the beauty of the land is an everlasting opinion. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/93.Heidi

Heidi try to keep doing the hiking with poles. You may have found the cure. I had an elbow problem in high school from bumping the ball in volleyball. I couldn’t straighten my arm. Went to PT, but it didn’t help. I started jumping rope for exercise and it happened to improve my arm! Thanks for sharing your beautiful hike in pics. Way different from my prairie wetland home. I definitely see a difference exercising in nature.

Ruth love that sign and I wonder how many have still tried to outrun a bison.

Went for a nice walk yesterday after a couple of gray cool days. We only hit 59 a couple of days ago, so quite a relief to have 78.
