Good morning all,
Maybe spring or summer on it's way soon. I certainly hope so. Getting tired of cold and wet. Been making masks for the community to pass the time and keep me out of refrigerator. So far made 600 and donated them all. Finished up radiation last Friday. Yah!!!! Just trial med every 3 weeks. Trying to work out more with stuff in basement. Not the same as a long walk with my dog. I want to get kayak back in water also, but toooo cold and wet. Everyone have a great day.

Yea Martai! Congratulations on finishing radiation and making all those masks. Good job on both fronts. In need to do more social distancing from my refrigerator too!!!
Dog walking & Zoom fitness classes yesterday.....ditto for today. Groundhogs Day #56 (or something like that.....they've all run together)!

Yesterday Zoom Yoga, today Zoom Pilates and a planned hour walk with DH before signing on to a Zoom Happy Hour!
While grateful for Zoom, I now exercise, go to church, teach, and have happy hour on Zoom...I am zoomed out. TT

I know the feeling, TT! And yet, I am going to be very nervous when they give the green light to do things 'normally' again......

I hear you Ruth...my gyms (I use two places) are saying they will start with a limit of half the number of students in a class to allow us to space out some...not really sure about that prospect.

TT - I'm zoomed and googled out!!! For work I have to do it - but not for leisure!!! Nice spring weather (70s) till Thursday when it will be high 80s. Cooling back to 60s by Monday. I want spring. I do not like when we go from winter to summer.
Finished my class last night - it was on zoom - took longer to do our presentations in small zoom groups than in person. I missed the last class that was given when my DH was admitted to the hospital. I think we were supposed to have 1 more but don't remember now. I hadn't done anything since the end of February for the class so I was pretty stressed!! Need to do a little work on my ppt and other artifacts, but not too worried. These are classes taught by peers after school. hours - we get a stipend and continuing education credit. Young people get the $ added to base pay but after so many years no more base pay building. Oh well, I'll take a stipend!!!
Waiting for DH to go for our after dinner walk.
Sweet dreams

I think the California four-stage plan is a possible way forward for the UK.

They are starting to open some things up here, with restrictions, on Friday. No way that I will be going into a restaurant or other group setting for awhile. I don't want to be one of the guinea pigs!
I walked by myself this morning and we took the puppies on a Field Trip this afternoon. Zoom Zumba in a few minutes.

A fellow sista posted on fb, I copied to my fb page and thought I would share here

Just a thought... As governors are trying to figure out how to ease back in to a new normal, please remember:
🛑 Some people don't agree with the state opening.... that's okay. Be kind.
🏡 Some people are still planning to stay home.... that's okay. Be kind.
🦠 Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening....that's okay. Be kind.
💰 Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may not lose their business or their homes....that's okay. Be kind.
👩🏾⚕️Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that's okay. Be kind.
📝 Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that's okay. Be kind.
😷 Some will wear masks for weeks....that's okay. Be kind.
💅🏻 Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that's okay. Be kind.
❤️ The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that's okay. Be kind.
We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind .
If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!
Don't judge fellow humans because you're not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind.
Please share this reminder for kindness. ❤I did!

Walked about three miles yesterday. Saw no one on my walk, which helped my state of mind! Then soaked in my hot tub after...

Been pretty regular about doing classical stretch most days, still stiff but beginning to see some improvement. Washing windows seems to be helping increase strength in my arm. Yesterday took a nice hike and hit my 10k steps for first time in over a week. Need more of that. Rain today

4 walks today - 3 with DH and still only 13K!!!! Didn't get as hot as they predicted - only 80 and cloudy - not ready for summer quite yet.

April was a good running month for me, I logged 136.5 miles. I've also stayed on track with strength work and the rehab exercises are great for my legs too. Tomorrow I have an 18 mile run scheduled. I'm a little nervous (longest distance in my life, once again and it will be fairly warm--I run better in cooler weather). I am determined to run the virtual full marathon next month and just hope I don't get COVID 19 between now and then. Afterwards is fine (well not fine but you know what I mean).

Wow, amazing edj!
I am still doing the same old, same old. Dogs and Zoom......the governor is easing restrictions in the state, which won't affect me because I am staying put....EXCEPT I am getting a hair cut/color Sunday. My beautician called; she'll be the only person at the shop, I'll wait in the car until she waves me in, she'll take my temperature at the door, I'll slather on hand sanitizer, she'll tape a cloth mask to my face, she'll be wearing a mask, no coffee served, no magazines available, no blow drying at the end.....I'm pretty sure I will be safer than when I make my weekly grocery run.
Happy May Day!

Good morning everyone. Going to a beautiful day today. Will get outside for a nice long walk and do some more yard work. My yard never looked so good being "stay at home"

Congrats on snagging a color/cut, Ruth! Also I am glad that your hairdresser is able to bring in at least some revenue. I am glad to have a cut that is OK if it waits a bit, and I do my own color. I will say that being "Zoom ready" isn't cheap as had to restock a number of items. I hope I am done with the restocking phase of things for a bit.
I think I will do a bit of retail therapy this morning and snag a gorgeous scarf. I find that what works best for Zoom calls is a scarf over a basic sweater. Casual and dressy at the same time for business calls. (For the record, I do wear something decent on my bottom half unlike the hapless newscaster who learned the importance of trousers the hard way!)
Enjoying my deck and the fresh geraniums that I planted last weekend. Working like a demon as we scramble for business in my market research venture and for funding for the nonprofit where I also work. I have the weekend task of updating a collateral. I don't need to worry in the least about my brain going stale!
Off for a ride in a bit. Important for my sanity. I think my favorite trails will open up this coming week, but I've been getting in routes I haven't done in quite some time. Fun to explore. Not to mention safe (unless I crash). I learned all about bog laurel during my run yesterday from someone who was also at the overlook point. We were safely distant and fun to learn a new thing. I got to see a pileated woodpecker close up this past week. I see and hear them all the time, but the first time seeing one close up. What a glorious sight!
I feel for everyone taking a financial hit as I have been there more than once in my life. At the same time, I am excited to see the innovation and change. So grateful to be largely self-sufficient and a good cook.
More later. Hoping for some sun today. Cycling is equally good exercise in the rain, but sun is a lot more fun. Rain or sun.....much preferable to staying inside. - Claire

Zoom yoga at lunch, then my weekly shopping, just back from 45 min hilly golf course walk with DH...now to a social distance happy hour! TT

Did Zoom Zumba this morning, met up with DS & the dogs for a picnic & walk in the park, a girlfriend came over & sat on the other end of the deck while we visited and had a hard apple cider. I then did Yoga Nidra online & we are ordering out for dinner.....so whoo hoo, a day without cooking!

Just cut my grass, the first time since last year that I did it. Hubby did it last week but with all the rain we’ve had lately it needed it again!

Got in not quite 16 1/2 mile run yesterday, and then 6 miles today. I had some left knee pain yesterday but that's why I've been going to physical therapy
0 -
edj...sorry for the knee pain, but WooHoo on the 16.5!
I have been thinking about this for some time since your marathon was made virtual...I'd like to think we can be your virtual teammates...if you let us know the date/time range, I am sure many of us can pledge to be there working out along side you. Ruth or I in our walks or Zoom classes, Wonderland and her herculean push mowing, Claire on a run or bike ride, etc. I also think it would be a fun team builder for us...think about it.
Just finished zoom church, have to teach a zoom class at 2 as I give a final exam tomorrow...hope to have a zoom yoga tonight.
Happy Sunday...but it could be Wednesday given my activities for the rest of today. Best, TT

Aw that is so incredibly kind of you--I would love that

Worked in the front yard yesterday, cleaning up leafs from the fall and moving rock around - that and 3 (or was it 4) nice walks and got almost 22K steps!! Felt good to have the time to work in the yard.
Yesterday started the run of 3 birthdays and mother's day in 9 days!! DD#1 turned 34! its funny, on my maternal side, I have 2 first cousins. They are quite a bit younger than me. My husband was asking me how old they are - and I said 49 and turning 45 this summer!!! My husband goes, I still think of "L" as a little boy when he came sailing with us (he was maybe 11 at the time). And now his son is I think 9 or 10!!. Funning thing is, my husband has seen my cousin many times since then and lots of times as an adult. This cousin lives in Banff. His younger sister lives outside of Toronto. I think its been 20 years since i've seen then. Last summer I drove to see their mother. Just funny how we age, but for some people we know, they stay fixed in time. The first time my husband met these cousins, we were dating and they were 1 and 5!
Start of another school week. I taking a PD this morning (virtual) on "Radical Self-Care). I know the woman teaching it. Nothing much on the calendar for this afternoon except planning.
Have a great day.

Oh Ruth, no...edj has been training for the marathon, we are simply part time supporters...
We need edj to help us here with date and times she plans to run, but my idea was something like this...given "e" likes to run in the early morning and with it being virtual, I would think a run from 5-10am might be her plan. Then we "sign up" to be her team mates in various hour time blocks. So at 5am central, perhaps some of the early risers (Karen) might go for their walk or our friends in UK and Europe might do their mid/late-morning routines, As we roll through the hours and time zones, there will always be one or two of us exercising in our ways as the marathon goes on. We can then post our activities and much like you and the walking women, share our exploits even while apart.
So, no, I'm not suggesting a 26 mile walk for you, I would probably do a one hour yoga/pilates class and perhaps an additional one hour walk as my contribution...did that make sense? TT

Sounds like a great idea, TT (I was kidding about doing 26 miles of exercise at once)!
I was completed the dreaded grocery run. It's a rainy day (which is good because that will green everything up and make it more springy looking). I'll do Zoom Zumba & Pound tonight.
For my fellow Yogis:
