Thanks beauties! Celia, good to hear in that side plank is in the current Bodyflow/Balance release (#89) I'm teaching and none in my class are willing to take the toe hold. I was a little blown away to be included in that they received over 400 photos.

I'll be teaching Pilates later - 5:30 and home the rest of the day working on this case study. No bathroom refurb this week and need to take advantage of the quiet and less frenetic activity in the house. Listening to a podcast as I write this post and jumping off to practice qigong and get laundry rolling.

Sounds like you will very much enjoy the pictures, Karen. I have lots of pictures that belonged to my parents, glassware (they collected antiques), and a few pieces of furniture. All of which I cherish. I feel like they are with me all the time (I'm sitting on the couch looking at a picture a great aunt painted as a wedding present to my parents 🥰).

In a little bit, DH & I are going to check out another State Park, should be back in time for Zumba.

57th day of 90+ in Denver. 4 wildfires burning in Colorado - news is saying will be smokey in Denver tonight - and people have seen ash in the metro area. Of the 4 fires, only one is contained and that is only 7%! Its currently 95 and high tomorrow is 97.

Thanks Ruth. How was the state park? Walked at 7:00 this morning but too hot to walk now - will walk after the sun goes down - probably won't get much more than 10K - did better last week.

Ruth, beautiful! Karen, 57 days 90+, that would make me quite crabby. Two classes in a bit. So nice to have the house quiet this week.

Ruth - gorgeous scenery! So lush!

Lllac - and 90s predicted for the next week - so that will put us at 64 days!!! 97 predicted for today -98 is the record so we could hit it. I do not like these high temps - but I also don't like sitting in AC all day. Our family room has window AC. I just got up - 5;15 and turned if off as the room felt cold - but I'm sure in less than half hour it will be back on. Heading out at 7:00 for morning walk.

    Have a great day!

New record high today in Denver - 100!!! It was 70 something at 7:00am when I walked this morning. Last week it was in the 60s in the morning when I walked early. DH and I will wait till sun goes down to walk tonight. Struggling to get 12K steps in. this heat :(

Just walked outside for a minute and the air smells like smoke from all the wild fires and its hazy too. Not sure if we should walk or not with the smokey air - but it won't be for another hour. We'll see what its like then.

It was hot here too & supposed to get hotter all week (but not 100....yuck). We walked the grand-puppies at a shady campground (virtually empty early in the week). I skipped exercise class to go to a retirement party for my good friend who retired just a couple weeks ago due to Covid. (I did a long term sub for him when he was undergoing cancer treatment several years ago and was sort of a sounding board for him as I had 'been there, done that".... so I really wanted to go to his send off). It was the first time I was inside a building with a group of people since March. I kept my mask on, so no food or drink for me, and didn't stay very long; but it was good to see my school people, if only briefly. Makes me sad for 'the good old days' where you could hug people, sit next to them, laugh loudly, eat food and/or have a drink, perhaps even whisper in their ear. Sad

Yesterday so beautiful out. Humidity has left us for a short time. Bright, sunny, nice breeze I'll take it. Long walk with dog, Physical therapy for lingering tightness in affected arm, (it has helped greatly). 9 holes golf. Hopefully another day like yesterday

Great run at 6:30 - only in the 60s - air wasn't too bad walking last night and was okay this morning but still air quality warnings due to all the wild fires.

Best get moving and start my work day. Have a great one.

Rainy, grey day and spent most of it in front of the computer bashing out case study. Absolutely no confidence that I have it right.

Off to teach Pilates down by the channel.

Thursday: Lots of exercise today, ending with Yoga in the Park.

Friday: Short walk with an old friend this morning, and will walk the dogs in a few minutes. My brother, SIL, & their daughter are passing through town about supper time. I am planning a backyard picnic, but I suppose I will have to let them in the house to use the bathroom.....Loopy

Great catch!!! You cleaning it? I love fresh fish - but when I buy whole boned trout at the grocery, I have them cut the head off before I bring it home!! I don't like my food looking at me!!! I haven't had sea bass in years. Enjoy! Great photo.

It's hot!! My phone says 93. It's also humid for Denver - when DH and I ran mid morning - we came home dripping!!! Doesn't happen often in Denver. Air quality is still unhealthy due to all the fires.

Baking - marble bundt cake per DH request - it will last us at least 4 weeks - we will cut it in sections and freeze 3/4. I wanted to make cookies for my gf who had a lumpectomy last week. I made oatmeal chocolate chip, not my usual recipe and I don't like how they came out - so won't be sending them to her. She lives about half hour west of Denver. Will bake my speciality on Sunday - mandel bread and mail them to. her Monday. The last time I baked them was 5 months ago as a thank you to all the nurses when DH was discharged from the hospital. I kept half for us and we still have a few left - I should have given them all the cookies. With just the two of us, I don't bake like I used to. It used to be what I did to relax - bake at least every Friday - now its only every few weeks.

Want to watch the headlines at 4:00pm news. DH gets updates from our local news station and a local teacher at a school that just opened for in person tested positive for in person :(

Have a good week-end. Stay safe and stay healthy.

martaj - Looking good! Sea Bass - so yummy!

Danced my you know what off at a 1 hour long Zoom Dance Party yesterday afternoon + Yoga/Relaxation in the AM.. Today was Yoga/Relaxation and Zumba. After my shower, had to take a nap.

This week, we have had several days where windows were able to be open overnight and for 4 - 6 hours into the day before A/C kicked. It was blissful, but back into the 90s next week.

    Hi all-

I can’t believe it but I think it’s been about 6 weeks since I have been on here. Where did the time go?

Well, we did it. We finished fixing up the yard in time for DD’s backyard wedding ceremony on the 14th. It was so nice! Just immediate family and very intimate yet socially distanced for medical safety. And now we get to enjoy our lovely yard.

I did end up going to stay with my 91 year old mom for 6 days when the tropical storm hit. We didn’t want her to be alone in her house during it, especially with tornado warnings and my sister who lives next door to her was away. It was so nice to get to spend time with her! We were fine at her house but my house lost power for 5 days and was blocked in by trees and wires so I stayed with her and DH had to deal with the power outage on his own. Just thankful it happened the week before the wedding and not the week of..

My school is planning to be back in person 5 days a week. Our Covid numbers are relatively low right now. Teachers start on Wednesday, 8/26 and students are back on 9/3. Everyone will be expected to wear a mask, Social distance as much as possible and we will go outdoors when we can. I don’t really know what to expect from my preschoolers but I guess we will figure it out together. I have been talking to some childcare center workers to get a sense of what has worked for them. Hoping we all stay healthy. DH’s high school is fully online so he will teach from home. Many schools around us are taking a hybrid approach of 2 days in and 3 days home with half the school in at a time.

Sending good thoughts to all the teachers out there for a safe year.

Ruth- you find the most beautiful places to hike! Love the photos.

Goodness, you've had a busy summer, Ginger. Sounds like the wedding was lovely. Hope school will go okay. Our elementary goes back on a 'normal' schedule. The middle & high school both have a hybrid schedule. At least for now. Uncharted territory for sure.

I went to Zumba this morning & did a 30 minute abs DVD. Very hot and humid!

Woke up at 5:00 and stayed in bed till 6:15. Donating blood at 7:30. NO other plans today except to pick up a few things at the grocery store, a couple walks, putter in the house. So basically a day of R and R.

It's 6:30 and looks hazy out - not sure what time sunrise is, but don't see any hints of the sun in the sky - to many fires till burning.

    Have a great day!

We are getting smokey skies from your fires, Karen. I did Zoom Barre Sculpt & Yoga today. I will have to run up and down the stairs a couple time to get my last 700 steps. We did some fun family things this weekend (outside). You don't realize how much you miss a person (or persons) until you have a chance to be with them again.

98 today - tied record high from 2011. mid to high 90s through Thursday then Friday mid 80s. Skies are very hazy and air quality is horrid. This afternoon when we walked the air was so still not a twig was moving. DH had a nose bleed this evening that took an hour to stop - he has the nose clip and Afrin they gave him in the ER in April - this was not nearly as bad - but it wiped him out. He really didn't want to go to the ER - He was light headed and nauseas after dinner. But I think he was just worn out. This afternoon he finished hanging the pictures.

The kids start tomorrow - I haven't looked at work emails all week-end. I usually check them Sunday night but decided I'm setting better boundaries this year. I put an away message on for Fridays. I do check emails on Friday, but only respond to those that I think are important and to my benefit. Thursday I sent 12 emails to students and parents. I only heard from 2 or 3 by Friday evening. I'm up early, so will check emails then.

Lots of steps today, but that's partly due to pacing in the house while talking on the phone - its better than just sitting.

Going to go to bed relatively early for me - by 11 - if I go to bed much earlier, then I'm up at 4:00 am.

    Sweet dreams

Hope your DH is okay, Karen. Good luck with the start of school.

We had a stormy night, lots of thunder, lightning, wind. But no damage and some nice rain, so we have been lucking out. I will go to Pound this morning. I have an eye exam this afternoon & will do Zumba tonight.

Nice walk this morning - air didn't seem to be as thick. And not hot yet. Another 98 day predicted.

Thanks Ruth - DH is pretty much dragging/worn out this morning. I'm sure as the day goes on, he'll slowly feel better.

Best get off the computer and get on the work computer. Lots to do.

I have been exercising throughout this past month including swimming, walking, running and cycling. I also continue my weekday routine of weights and crunches. I did a flying getaway to Lopez Island on Saturday, cycling 36 hilly miles. Long day, leaving at 6:30 returning just as it was getting dark at 8:30. Came home with bread and wine, both made from foodstuffs grown on the island.

Here are the pictures I thought you might enjoy. - Claire

My DH just called me outside and said "look at this" - it's raining - sure hope it keeps up, we really need the moisture. The air is so bad, maybe the rain will clear it up a bit - before it started raining the air was so thick, skies were hazy.
