DH still feels 'normal'.......whew!
I did a slow walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes this morning and have been puttering around putting up Christmas decorations the rest of the day. I will finish tomorrow. Just learned of four more people I know testing positive. Bad, bad......

Ruth, so pleased you are feeling better and that DH has not gone through what you have. edj3, So pleased Grace is getting better and son as well. A head scratcher those conflicting readings. Badger, you are a good daughter and hope more recovery becomes evident. We find out tomorrow what tier we are in for when we come out of lockdown on December 2nd and it's looking like the worse one #3 - no gym classes. In an hour I'll be in a Pilates class with my sister and her instructor in San Diego. I've been on these twice weekly classes since the beginning of November. Enjoy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today I cleaned house and went for a long walk. We had a bit of snow yesterday but today is sunny and beautiful (if cold, but that just means I have to walk faster!)
Sounds like mostly good news all the way around among folks here, so yay for that!

The Wednesday Walking Women are exercising on our own for now and reporting what we did. DH & I walked for half an hour this morning and walked the grandpuppies for about 15 minutes this afternoon. I still feel like I'm in recovery mode so that was enough for me. DH remains feeling fine!

Nice pic, Ruth! I may have to think about a treadmill. It rained here yesterday so my exercise was browsing the library. I don't mind cold & snow but cold rain but is another thing.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It's just DH and me this year so we bought a small turkey breast to roast. He made pumpkin pie, I made cranberry sauce, and we'll have carrots from the garden.

Baby Grace continues to spike a bit of a fever at night and get super fussy. We all hope that goes away soon. My son said he now feels like he has the worst cold in the world but his blood sugar continues to remain only slightly high (he has *excellent* control). My daughter-in-law said she can't entirely tell if she's got symptoms or is just that exhausted. I'm hoping for the exhaustion.
I got a reply from the super duper specialist about the x-ray results--I'd started to hope I could avoid surgery and now it sounds like it still may be on the table. This is what his nurse sent back in response to my question about which test was gospel, the MRI or the x-ray take a week or so later:
I spoke with Dr. R and he said the x-ray is what gives us the most up to date information. So I would say the Xray is gospel! He said basically you are producing a band of sclerosis in that area which is your body's way of trying to heal the stress fracture. He said that this could be an area of what is called hyperostotic non-union or is an area of bone formation in the face of a non-union. He explained that typically those situation do go on to heal but they may require surgical intervention. He encourages you to keep your appointment with the foot specialist.
So this morning I thought screw it and I ran 5k. Because maybe it's healing? It hurts so OK maybe that wasn't the best idea I've ever had but otherwise it felt so good to run. The appointment w/ the foot/ankle doctor is in one week and I'm looking forward to what he recommends as the best path to return me to running competitively as quickly as possible (with the best healing outcome, tired of breaking myself).

Ruth - nice photo of you and your husband. Glad he's still feeling good and you are on the mend. I'm sure you enjoyed the two walks, even if only 15 minutes each.
edj - glad you enjoyed your run. Hope baby Grace is feeling better, same with your son and hoping your DIL does not have Covid.
3 1/2 days of hiking. About 14 hours hiking total - hiking in the mountains so even more exercise than the Fitbit shows in steps - Anywhere from 20K to Sunday through Wednesday 102K steps. That will be hard to keep up that pace at home. We are heading back to Denver in a couple hours - just need to clean up and pack up. At home, need to take the smoked turkey parts (leg, wing, neck) out of freezer and then I still need to make the stuffing, yams and pumpkin pie. It shouldn't take long. And I need to get a few walks in. Won't walk till we get home. It's cold here in Frisco - at 7:00 am it's a whopping 9 degrees!!! 21 In Denver so by the time we get home, it will be nice walking weather. Will post pictures later.

My running group had a social distanced pre-turkey meal 10k this morning!A beautiful morning and so grateful for that run! Visited our parents wearing masks and social distanced! And enjoyed food and time with my boys! It was a good day!

I was very lazy yesterday. All I did was read, nap, and eat. Oh, I did watch the AKC national dog show on TV. Your fun pic reminded me, Runnermum.
Got so much sleep that I'm up before dawn. The newspaper was just delivered so will read that & have some coffee. My sleep schedule is way out of whack.
Supposed to be partly sunny and warm-ish today so will definitely get out for a walk later.

Great picture, Runner. We have been having absolutely unusually mild weather, which is such a treat! I walked 30 minutes in the morning and 30 more in the afternoon (I am definitely not back to 'normal' because usually I could walk forever.) I ordered Thanksgiving Dinner from a local restaurant so just had to warm things up. Since I'm not contagious anymore, I brought DS his food and visited with him while he ate and then went home, set a nice table and ate with DH. I set up a Zoom with my cousin so was able to visit with my 85 year old aunt and uncle in Wisconsin. Later my siblings, their spouses, all my nieces & nephews, DS, and we did a Zoom, which was wonderful! It is the first time the whole family had been 'together' in probably 9 years!

We have definitely been lucky with great temps this fall so far! Was surprised to wake up yesterday and see that light dusting but wasn't icy and was a beautiful run! And the snow was gone by 11am! Glad you had a wonderful day Ruth!

Runner - great photo.
DD#2 face timed me 3 times yesterday to ask directions for cooking a turkey. This is her first turkey at just 22. The pre and post pictures looked yummy. They are having American Thanksgiving for Shabbat dinner tonight. This morning she told me she tasted the neck and it was delicious. I think she also made the stuffing as she asked for my recipe earlier in the week. All my kids love to cook and are good cooks. I wasn't the good mom letting me help cook as it took longer when they helped. Sometimes with cookies or they could cook a dish by themselves.
Usually we eat turkey day dinner again on Friday night, but I'm saving the stuffing and yams for Sunday night and will take smoked turkey leg and wing out of the freezer Sunday. Tonight, I'm grilling chicken thighs and a few thighs. I best get busy cooking and cleaning as I only have 5 hours to do everything!

Walked 30 mins today. It was in the 40's so very nice for the end of Nov. Should be almost 50 tomorrow - crazy!

I do love planks. One of my workouts includes a lot of hip dips while in plank, and then shifting forward and back to hit all areas of the core.

LilacBlue - Whew, that planksmas schedule is something else! I do modified planks (against the wall or on knees on the floor) for 1 minute during Silver Sneakers classes 3-4 times a week. Still trying to work my way up to the "standard" plank. (At age 66 and only having started exercising in earnest in January, still a "work in progress".)
So thankful to be able to continue to exercise via Zoom as the winter months are coming up. Nice to be able to avoid driving!

It was an amazing 57 degrees here today. Lots of of people out with their strollers or dogs, others running, biking, or roller blading. So fun! i took two walks and felt like I had a little more 'bounce', the most 'active minutes' according to my fitbit that I've gotten since I got sick. I'm still zonk out about 9pm but am starting to get my taste back. Yea! This is DH's last day of isolation. He was VERY lucky because he never developed any symptoms throughout.

Had a window visit with mom yesterday, talking on our cell phones. She's pretty dispirited about left side paralysis and likelihood of having to give up an independent life. Care conference call scheduled for tomorrow afternoon so will have some more info then.
It was in the mid-50's here, too, so got in a 30-minute walk when we got home around 3 PM. Turkey leftovers for supper yum.
It will be cooler today but sunny. Will get in a walk. Nothing like seeing someone who can't walk to give an appreciation of one's ability.

We had sun yesterday and blah winter-like sunless all day today. Did a live stream class this afternoon with 225 other BodyBalance instructors on new release #90. I get the music on Friday to learn and I'll I'll start teaching it whenever we open - if it is in December because we may go back into lockdown in January as they are allowing a 5 day relaxation window from December 23rd-26th still with some restrictions. How about those anti lockdown protest marches yesterday worldwide? We have been in lockdown for nearly a month and two more weeks to go and then we may be brought down to #2 or not as I live in a tier 3 area (Kent). Trying to keep positive.

Because of working from home, I exercise less at times but my weight is the same as pre shenanigans. I try to come downstairs as often as possible.After mass, told hubby to drop me off at local supermarket which is about 0.5 mile from home. And I swam at non heated community pool this afternoon for about 20 mins.

Glad I walked this morning when it was sunny. The clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and it got cold this afternoon. Good chili-cooking weather.

After a wonderful week off and tons of time outdoors, its back to looking at a computer screen for the next three weeks.
Last Sunday (not yesterday), our first day hiking, I managed to fall twice - the second time I fell hard on my Contigo water bottle in the back area just below the ribs. Needless to say I was SORE. Iced it on and off that night and throughout the week, my back go better. Well, Saturday night into Sunday morning something happened. I woke up in agony middle of the night. Was sore most of yesterday but was manageable till dinner time. I coughed and thought I was going to go through the ceiling - it's been years since I felt pain like that - after the sharp pain subsided, my back spasmed for a while. Took 2 tylenol and went for a walk after dinner. As I was getting a glass of water before bed and watch the news, I was thinking, the tylenol is really doing a good job - till I sat down and sneezed - same pain as when I coughed. Laughing hurts and if I move a certain way. I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen but took 2 at bedtime. Woke up at 3:00am and took 2 tylenol. This morning I'm sorry and feel really worn out (also last night). On my back side, the bottom rib hurts when I touch it and the soft space below it. Poor hubby felt so helpless last night when I let out a scream. I'm trying to decide if I should go to the doctor or what. If it's a broken rib, there really is no treatment. If it's not a rib, then I'm really worried what it could be. I feel like i"m falling apart - this is my right side and I have tennis elbow on my left arm that I have no idea how it developed. I try to wear a brace a few hours during the day and for part of the night sleeping. Busy day today from 11-3 with non stop meetings - one on a student and the other with my intern - both 2 hours. Till 11:00, I have enough to keep me busy. Trying to decide if I should call the doctor when they open.
No walk this morning as its in the 20s but I used my Cubii for 1/2 hour which is 3K some steps. Will use it later again - probably during my google meet meetings. It makes them more tolerable.
Sorry for the pity party and making this all about me. Just feel emotional today.

Karen- I’m sorry that you fell and got hurt. The doctor may be able to give you a wrap to help your ribs feel better and supported while they heal. Also a pain reliever that’s effective and safe for you. I hope you feel better soon

((Karen)) ouch! I hope you called the doc to get an idea of what's going on and what to do. That sounds so painful.
Mom is doing better; she's really trying with PT. She can't walk yet but is able to stand with help and put weight on her left leg. Rehab at least four more weeks.
Walked this afternoon. It helped that the sun came out.
