    Ruth - gorgeous photo

Badger - yes it's a Moose. It was crossing the road in town near where we stay. We've seen Bull Moose on the trails but not in town.

Snow lasts night - a few inches - snow on and off all week.

    Next week is spring break

badger took the words out my mouth: Great pix, Karen! Is that a moose? Hope your mom is feeling better, badger.

Love the big skies and winter landscape, Ruth!

Lilacblue, at least the PM got a jab!

Had my weight training this morning. Zumba oldie but goodie later, with founder Beto Perez on youtube. Come to think of it I have been doing Zumba or dance fitness more than 10 years now. The trainer at the gym told me I needed to strengthen my knees/legs first. I did and have had so much fun since.

Badger: Hope your mother is feeling better after her fall.

Karen: Your pictures are images of Pure Joy and Love. Enjoy your visit with dd.

I've been walking/running on a regular basis. Meeting a friend at a State park this Saturday for a fun hike.

Pound this morning, Zumba tonight. Along with neighborhood walks; Bruno, me, DH, DS's girlfriend, her dog & DS's two dogs took a walk out at a lake. Nobody had enough hands to take a picture!

I've lost all my motivation. Not sure why but I'm stuck in the blahs. In general. Not solely for exercise. It's supposed to rain for the next five days so that likely won't help. But sun will be here eventually... spring is coming!

Together, Some days I'm in 'fake it to make it' mode. What I try to do - is try something different - shake it up and be kind to myself until it passes. Badger, I too hope your mother is feeling better. Karen, great photos and you all look so happy! Ruth, super photos and I can well imagine you did not have enough hands! Trm Tab, do you have time off at Easter and how is your mother? HeidiHill, yes he did get the jab and at the gym where I stream my classes I see one instructor in passing (she teaches combat) who is balking - including her husband at getting the jab. Her judgement of no jab hits me in the same place as those who voted for Trump - that has been an interesting observation! Edj - OMG you can train with Sami Mansfield - she is the #1 cancer exercise specialist in the US! I got into cancer specialist exercise in 2013 and that is when she came up on my radar. What she has developed with Crossfit is amazing. I love Sami and all that she does - do train with her if you can.

I spent the weekend five hours each day on zoom studying breath work for covid-19 and it was not yoga for covid 19. Signed up for a breath work foundation course in May to get all techniques down and it's what is required. Off to teach two classes, first class matwork Pilates and after Yin yoga. The gym now has a huge tv on wheels so I can now see everyone and myself - it's very cool and much better than the lap top the gym has been using.

The King Soopers shooting in Boulder yesterday afternoon has really shaken me up. It's 45-50 minutes drive but I've shopped King Soopers since I moved to CO 35 years ago. The one I shop regularly is about 1/2 mile and their is another 1 1/2 miles away. Before Covid, I shopped several times/week - now I try to keep it to once/week. Unsettling to think that it could have been my local store.

Together, sorry you are feeling blah. It comes & goes with me and grey weather doesn't help. Like Lilac, sometimes I have to fake it but am always glad I started. Exercise becomes a habit and I miss it if I don't do it. It's good to have a goal. Start with something you know you can do to create a feeling of accomplishment. My first exercise goal was to walk to the mailbox and back every day. Seems insignificant but chemo kicked my butt and some days it was all I could do. My next goal was to walk 100 miles. I got a cheap pedometer from WalMart and started tracking steps and distance. Instead of starting at zero and counting up, I started at 100 and counted down. That psychological trick helped motivate me to keep going. Then as I could do more, I set more ambitious goals.

My new goal is to shed the quarantine weight I've gained. Stepped on a scale yesterday for the first time since my doc visit last summer. My BMI isn't high enough to qualify me in the new vaccine eligibility group but I'm feeling fat. :-( Someone posted on a previous page about exercise as a prescription for health & wellness. I've prescribed myself a minimum of 30 minutes a day of walking.

Karen, I shopped at King Soopers when I lived in CO. It would have shaken me up, too. So random.

Ruth, three humans and four dogs? No wonder you didn't have enough hands to take a pic. That golf course will green up soon.

DH and I visited my mom in-person yesterday. She is doing OK but looking so frail. Her arm isn't fractured from the fall TG but it's swelling due to post-stroke non-use so they have her in a compression sleeve. Brought the bird feeding supplies. DH stuck the pole in the ground by her window, and I filled and put up the feeder. She was happy for the gift and the thought and will get pleasure from watching the birdies. Also brought some seasonal (artificial) wreaths and hung the one with spring birds & blooms on her door. She introduced us to a half-dozen people; having family visit is a big deal around there. The best part is I got a hug!! It was a good visit. Will stick to a regular weekly visit on Weds so this was a bonus.

Together, when I am in the blahs, I just do it (whatever 'it' is) anyway. I figure I might still feel blah afterward (although often one is not), but at least I will have been productive.

I am doing a catch-up day. I still don't have everything back together from the bathroom remodel & am trying to figure out how to arrange things for a puppy in the house. In a few minutes we will go sign the 'foster to adopt' paperwork. Yikes! I usually go to Barre Sculpt at 4:30 Tuesday but have a Zoom meeting at that time. So, my exercise today will be dogs, dogs, and more dogs.

Deb, I have some quarantine pounds I need to chip off too. It is sure easier to gain them than to lose them.

Karen, I am horrified by the events in Colorado. The deeper tragedy is that this type of thing is not a surprise anymore. I don't think it is political to say that there is something broken in the soul of America.

Karen, I feel the stress and understand a bit. I used to live in Boulder and even though that was years ago, it still feels personal, especially since I currently do a lot of collaborative work with UC Boulder. Yes, Ruth, there is something broken when this keeps happening.

Got my second Pfizer shot yesterday and took a nap! But today I am doing a few wheelchair exercises. I too, am feeling the blahs but try to push through them. and I do feel better afterwards. But yeah, I get it, Together. This broken leg has really thrown me for a loop because, even though it was an accident, I feel like it was my own dumb fault for being clumsy, and then I go onto a spiral downturn of feeling sorry for myself. With BC I definitely didn't feel that way: it was just bad luck and maybe less than great genes....maybe I was just stronger then. anyway, I hope the coming of Spring puts some spring in your step, Together!

I did a really good yoga session today--if you use YouTube at all, Five Parks yoga is GREAT.

I also have an ear infection :(

Thanks for the words, I went tonight as usual on Tuesdays. Since stopping my tamoxifen, I got my period again starting a few months ago, after 13 months with none due to tamoxifen. Since I'm 47, I bought some peri menopause vitamins tonight to try, a co-worker brought up that idea for my blahs. I do like the idea someone wrote that I'll feel blah with or without exercise (or any activity I'm too bummed to do) so might as well do it!! Great advice!

Ruth, you three are so cute.

Togethertolearn, yeah there are days when I'm just not motivated. But I would feel that way plus rotten I didn't work out if I didn't work out . . . so I do. Not sure guilt is the best reason but meh, it seems to work for me . . .

Very cold and windy this morning. Only two of us walked outside. Afterwards we hung out in one of the lady's heated shop/rec room. They live on the end of town and this huge shop out back with couches, a pool table, old cars being refinished (including the Volkswagen in the picture), grow lights for herbs, little birds in cages that her DH hatched from eggs). The DH comes out twice a day and lets them fly around the building and then back in their cages they willingly go (he is rather an old hippie). Her adult grandchildren and their friends also like to come hang out, play pool etc.

    Zumba tonight.

Ruth, congrats on officially adopting Bruno. He is a lucky dog. What big paws he has!

Edj, ear infections are miserable. I used to get them a lot until an ENT specialist gave me Acetasol eardrops. Apparently, the pH of my ears isn't acidic enough. I use a few drops PRN when they start to itch. Haven't had an ear infection in years. Hope yours clears up fast.

Rainy & cold here so was on the treadmill yesterday and today. Probably will be tomorrow as well.

After a 3 inch downpour yesterday, today we start 4 days of high 70's, that will end with severe T-storms on Sunday night...the roller coaster continues. Wednesdays are my worst work day of the week, so no exercise...a bad combination. Off to yoga at lunch. My studio is starting TaiChi as of April 1st...I don't think of that as exercise, but like the medidation/mindfulness of it, so will start that up as long as the scheudule holds. TT

4 dogs - they must all be well behaved to walk all 4 together.

73 on Monday and snow on Tuesday - spring time in the Rockies.

I have delegated the regular house cleaning to DD and DH - vacuuming the house, bathrooms and doing the floors. Last night I cooked the brisket - DH just needs to slice today - have my list of what needs to be done and I think it's really managing and easier than I thought. I was exhausted last night when I went to bed - couldn't even think when DH asked a simple question so I had both DD and DH look at my menus and list and everything was there. A lot of things that need to be cooked can be done at the same time. I plan to have it all done by 1:30 when I leave for hematologist at 2:00. I still don't know his labs to make of the. highs and lows but I think it will be status quo. I see medical oncologist in 2 weeks and get my Prolia shot.

Officially on spring break. I have my Friday away message on and later today, I'll switch it to to spring break away message.

Doing my Cubii and till 7:00 (another 45 minutes), then will get busy cooking.

    Have a great day.

    Lovely Martaj!

Karen, I hope you can have some time to veg-out during your spring break!

It was actually 3 people walking 4 dogs. DS's girlfriend goes to work at 5:00 am so is around in the afternoon. The two biggest dogs are in obedience school right now, which works amazingly well (we will have a candidate in the fall!). In a few minutes I am going over to a very untechie friend's house to try to teach her to Zoom. Wish me luck!

    Nice ink!

I ran today and as on Monday, I didn't look at my watch, I just ran by how I felt. Wow--I may actually be able to come back from all the health crap of the last three years. I ran 2.5 miles and my pace was 10:07. That's still off my previous normal but so much better than it's been. Hope is a potent training tool, you know?

I love this thread! I love seeing the dogs, I love seeing the tattoos and I love hearing the running stories.

I'm sitting at my desk peddling my Cubii and will walk to the grocery store in a little while to get some milk for our coffee.

I miss my big trouble-making Airedale (he's the one in my profile picture), so I especially enjoy the dog pictures.

I really like your tattoo, Martaj.

Ruth: great picture of all the dogs.

Well, it has started back up. Mowing. Dh and I put if off for as long as we could, lol. We both have push mowers and try to mow at the same time. I picked up sticks for 30 minutes and mowed for 80 minutes. Today was 81 degrees and we would have waited until it was cooler again but we've had lots of rain and it was time. We have discussed hiring someone to mow during the really hot and humid months. I don't want to be doing it when it's 95 degrees.

this week I’ve biked 59 miles and walked 2 miles. (Might go for a walk later today when the frost melts). I’m still biking at the lower resistance, but my speed has picked up. I’m hoping I am back on an upwards trajectory and the back/spine/arm thing that derailed me 4 weeks ago is a one time thing.
