Spring break is coming to an end. I've been pretty productive in the house. Met a gf for tea this morning and we always gab forever. We'll get together again once I'm done school for the summer.

Nice weather this afternoon. Didn't need a coat when we walked before dinner. Saturday it will be near 70. For the next week it will be in the 50s and 60s and most days sunny. No precipitation in the forecast.

Can't believe tomorrow is April already - 1/4th of the year is already over.

    Have a great night.

Karen- how frightening for your DD and whole family. Glad you will get to see her in person soon.

LB- I loved when I did the Livestrong program at our Y. It really got me to try some different forms of exercise I hadn’t done before.

Walking has been my primary form of exercise recently. Waiting for the warm weather to get here.

Painted for about 4 hours (until I ran out of paint.....under estimated the job by about 1/2 a quart), went to yoga & am now sitting around watching the Grammys. I SHOULD be dancing around to the music!

*Edited to say that I did dance around until I got to 10,000 steps last night. Went to Pound this morning, I'm taking a painting break because I overdid it yesterday & my back is sore and tweaky.

Starting on planning my menu for Passover and the few days DD#2 is here before. I looked at my sedar menus from 3 years ago and I can't. believe how much food I made. Cutting way back and there won't be a shortage of food. Just about done shopping - just a couple things that haven't come in yet.

I'm counting weeks till the end of the school year - 9 weeks!!! Lots to do in that time.

Way too windy to walk after dinner last night. We didn't want to land in Kansas!!! Supposed to be windy again today but I don't think quite as strong.

Finished up the middle school yesterday. The new person seems strong. I was able to introduce her to all the students on the caseload. It was a stretch in one day, but we managed. I start the maternity leave coverage on Monday for the rest of the school year and through October 22. I'm there 3 days/week and my 4th day is helping with testing at a couple schools.

    Have a great Wednesday.

Did Barre again yesterday. She spent more time this time on the core, it whooped me out. I have come the conclusion, I have no core! Wore my sleeve both times and no issues with LE flaring up. :)

Sorry for sending the high winds your way. We had them Sunday-Tuesday topping over 55 mph. I think they were 30 mph when I did my walk on Monday. I will get on my bicycle once they calm down.

I got out hiking both last Friday and Sunday, exploring areas within a short drive of where I live. I just learned that there is a CDA Grand Fondo in September I think the Piccolo (little one of 39 miles) would be great fun. It goes along Lake Coeur d'Alene and then you take a boat back to the start. They have food trucks at rest stops so the eats are a few notches above PB&J sandwiches.

When I picked up my bicycle from the bike shop, I learned that they have a gathering place in the side space that serves beer with three on tap! I can't think of a better place to visit once I get things in gear. That is how you learn what's fun to cycle as well as where the good eats are.

Saturday, there is a wine extravaganza in town with pop up wine bars in the downtown shops. I may cycle over depending on weather. I also want to explore the Centennial Trail to the State Line. It goes for more than 30 miles into Spokane.

My goal is to get my fitness level up to where it was 3 years ago. No, I won't be doing the ride from Seattle to Portland this year, but I do want to be doing 60-100 miles a week. Because that transforms my body and boosts the mood. We shall see how it all goes. - Claire

As the winds are howling, the Wednesday Walking Women were back indoors this morning. I will have to take Bruno out for our 15 minute homework walk. Lucky he's big or he'd blow away. Dance2fit tonight.

I am on the injured reserve...UGH!

Was leaving my home on Sunday to go to the gym! turned to go, my body turned but not my foot so I corkscrewed my R leg and pop went the knee. Pain, swollen, ugh. Gratefully nothing broken but won't even start PT until next week when swelling goes down.

I'll keep reading and will report any progress. I joked with my DH that for the next six weeks my exercise will be PT at home and at the PT office and walking when I can build up some tolerance.

One good part of all that we usually do...when the orthopedist was checking me out on Tuesday...from yoga/pilates/etc. I can stand on one leg and balance, I can do bridges/yogi squats, I can put my hands around my feet for stretches, lots of other things of course but they were very much of the mind that while I would be unhappy being on the injured reserve list, that I was half way back to activity compared to most folks my age...

    and I am "only" 60Smile

We are past daffodils and now the azaleas are full bloom. TT

Oh no TT! My knee hurts just reading it. May you heal quickly.

    Stay safe in the wind!

This Sunday my friend and I hosted a tea bridal shower for another friend's daughter who is getting married in June. It was fun playing games, drinking hot tea, and eating little sandwiches.

I have no exercise to report. Felt under the weather for a few days but all better now. I've been painting something for my daughter as a wedding gift (her wedding is in October). It's a 8x8 wooden picture frame with interchangeable inserts for seasons, birthdays, holidays, etc. Here are the summer and fall inserts (they're 6x6).

We have high winds too! Homemom, good on keeping at it - consistency is key. Wonderland, that cat & sun are terrific. Just rented on Amazon The Electrical Life of Louis Wain.

Off to Pilates and then across town to teach golden oldies - 75+.

How darling, Alice! You are so creative!

Our high wind warning goes through 7pm tonight, and we woke up to snow on the ground. So depressing!!! Pound & Barre Sculpt are on my agenda. I need to get back to my basement painting project & Obedience School is tonight.

It's been quiet here today. I was the last post last night and now the first today.

I saw my medical oncologist for my 6 month visit and he isn't necessarily recommending the 2nd booster. He said recent article in New England Journal of Medicine says it only lasts a couple months. But he does want me to keep wearing masks - I've slacked off the past couple week, especially this past week at work, but I respect my oncologist so I will listen to his advice. He has done well by me for 16 years. He is keeping me on a 6 month schedule.

Supposed to be in mid to high 70s tomorrow then cool off - weather will be up and down all week.

DD#2 arrives in 4 days and DD#1 in 11 days. It will be nice having all 3 kids in one place. I can't wait to hug my girls. My son lives by us so we see him on our days off. All of them are happy to be able to see each other.

Everyone, stay well and have a good week-end.

    Ouch, TT, that sounds painful!

Wonderland-those are beautiful. What a lovely keepsake.

Karen- I hope you enjoy having your kids all together again; it’s so special when you get that time!
Listen to that dr; I backed off masking a bit at school and today I tested positive for Covid. Seems like the new variant is starting to hit our area. Going to be taking it easy for a bit

Yikes, Ginger, hope you have a mild case!

Interesting about the Booster #2, Karen. I was just going to schedule one through my pharmacy but maybe I should check with my GP first. It will be GREAT to have all the kids home, I am so excited for you!

The painting is done, now to clean the carpet & put things back in order.......also buy a new sofa because the old one is shot. We went for a long dog walk this afternoon.

Karen: Thanks for sharing the information about the 2nd booster. I will check with my GP also to get his recommendation. You are going to be a Happy Mama when all your children are home!

Ginger: Oh no! So sorry you have covid. Hoping for a mild case.

Ruth: I know you are glad to be finished with your painting. It's really coming along.

Walked/ran yesterday. First time in a week. Felt refreshing! Today dh and I trimmed the dead branches in our lilac trees. We have a row of them separating our property from the neighbors. Wanted to do this before they are in full bloom and are hard to work in. Spent hours clipping, sawing, hauling limbs. I want to get the yard ready for summer so all we mainly need to do is mow and take care of the small garden. The dogwoods and azaleas are blooming now. Spring is definitely here!

Speaking of Spring, I completed one more insert for dd's exchangeable picture gift. This is the last one I'm going to do. I will be giving her blanks and letting her design them. She's very crafty and will enjoy doing them. Here is the fun Spring one I painted.

DD#2 arrives Tuesday afternoon and DD#1 a week later. Ginger - I will definitely enjoy the kids. I haven't seen DD#1 since late November and DD#2 since late September. I'm taking next week off, but need to work this week. I'm starting to cover a need school - elementary school for a maternity leave. I will be busy!!! The SP is there 4 days and I'm only assigned 3 days.

I'd been slacking off on wearing the masks, but I'm back to wearing it. I have KN95s that I'll wear to work. I wore them to get my hair cut today and to the store on Friday after my appointment.

I am due for my annual physical with my PCP in May or June and will ask her about booster #2. There will be more data then.

    Have a great Sunday night.

Push mowed today for 2 hours. It was 65 degrees and delightful! I even wore a long sleeve tee shirt. Tomorrow the high will be 79 degrees which means in could get in the 80s. Decided to take advantage of today's temperature to mow.

I went to yoga and danced around the living room to Marshall Fitness for 30 minutes. We have a monster winter storm system headed our way Tuesday-Thursday.....potentially FEET of snow. I will be zipping around town doing errands tomorrow! And hope it doesn't start until later in the day on Tuesday as I have a 9:00am hair appointment.

After a cool no exeday yesterday, today was glorious. I was able to walk this evening for 30 minutes. Listened to Apple Music's morning walk mix. It was a nice blend of upbeat with a few chill pieces added.

I'm such a fair weather walker. But I'm trying to do better.

DH and I usually walk 4 miles 4-6 days a week but his back has been giving him issues, so we reduced it to 2.5 miles 2-4 times a week. That's why I go to the gym and do Barre. I'd like to go today and get on the treadmill for 45 min or so. Gotta get my motivation up! Still working on the taxes and keeping my Realtor business going.

I got up early, did errands, went to Pound, did more errands & may go back to the gym for another class tonight since I have some appointments tomorrow & after that we may be shut down for a couple days to an enormous snow storm.
