Karen, so glad for your mom & daughter time!
Wonderland, what a difference! It doesn't look like the same space. I didn't do as much work as you, but LOVE the updated look of my family room area too. I finished up my tiling project in the laundry room & forced DH to organize his tools, so that area looks a lot better too. We also went through closets & I have 4 huge bags full of clothes to take over to a charity we support. I am taking advantage of the bad weather to get indoor things done! I went to Reset Yoga & danced around with Marshall Fitness in my living room yesterday. The winds were gusting to 50 mph & it was so raw that we skipped our dog training walk. We have to go out today no matter what. (The snow/rain has stopped for now but it is still cold & many places are dealing with flooding.) I am off to Pound in a few minutes.

The house is quiet. DD#2 left this afternoon. Miss my girls already. Worked at home today and of course didn't get done as much as I hoped. Will get back to work after our nightly walk which we are heading out now

I had a successful week last week walking. My Apple Watch says I had a 7 day streak. I listened to a Queen playlist a couple of days and relived my high school years. Then I found the Rotten Melons podcast and heard them talk all about pooping and menopause for a couple more sessions
I skipped yesterday and sulked after finding out I’ll need chemo. At the MO now. I’m starting next week. (Wednesday)
I’ll hit my sidewalk again today. Pre-habilitation is the name of my game for the next 7 days. Then I need to keep moving as much as I can through treatment (TCx4)
This seems like an encouraging place, and I need encouragement.

Welcome Sarahmaude, glad you found your way over here! Keeping moving during chemo is very, very helpful both to help you get through treatment and to help you bounce back faster once it's done!
I took my dog out for his training walk this morning (it was a not-very-springlike 28 degrees). We will go for a hike with our neighbor & her dog later this afternoon & then Barre Sculpt. I am now down to the basement to try to consolidate some old photo albums.

Well, I would like to report that daily walk as much as possible( Approx 5miles) helped me quite a bit after simple mastectomy last week. Less than two handfuls of Tylenol and Tramadol combined.. having a cabin fever so I walked about 10,000 steps. I got yelled at by nurses. Hubby got mad and demanded no walk. Guess I need to stay put until post op appt in two weeks.

Good for you, Castigame! Maybe walk, but closer to home (around & around the block might make DH less worried). Here's a now funny story (not funny then). After I had a hysterectomy, since I couldn't do any other exercise, I was walking like crazy. I was walking over a bridge in a park, not very near my home. Apparently some hornets had made a nest under that bridge because they swarmed out and were stinging me all around my ankles!! Well, I was jumping around screaming (a no-no after that surgery) and had to limp my way home (I must not have had my phone with me....another stupid move). That was the only time I took one of the prescribed pain pills. Yikes!!!

Big day today! Got my official OncoType Dx report. Scheduled my chemo treatments through June. Accidentally left the treatment center, remembered I still needed my Prolia injection, got that. (Extra steps!) Then I ran by the dry ice location to see about that. Found out just by going online and setting up an account, I can save about 40% off my 50 lbs per treatment. I came home, ordered my Penguin cold capping kit, and worked (telework) for the next 7 hours. Lunch was a handful of mixed nuts and yogurt.
Made some leftovers for my daughter and me. Then I walked 2 miles. I cringed when I read about RuthBru’s outdoor temperature. It was about 62 degrees when I left for my walk tonight. Cool enough for long sleeves, but really pleasant.
I don’t know how you guys are walking 5 miles a day during the week. Overall I’m at around 7000 steps for the day, and for me, right now, it’s good. Now to cool off and prep for tomorrow. I’m going to an in person meeting at my customer site where I have my office (government contractor) for the first time in 25 months! I’m excited. Now, if my big day and many accomplishments are just enough to help me sleep soon.

Welcome Sarahmaude and castigame. Glad you found us. I use my Cubii in the morning for an hour before work - I'm up early as I don't sleep well. Then I try to walk for at least 15-20 minutes during the work day. DH and I walk when I get home and after dinner. I strive for 15K/day. Today I went out after work with my teammates so just made 11K - about half of what I did last week when I took the week off to spend with my kids. The house is now quiet as the girls are back in their respective cities. DS lives by us. I don't enjoy the gym, exercise classes or equipment. I keep saying I need to do exercises for the core, but I never do. For a period of time, I was using 2-3# hand weights but stopped when I developed tennis elbow and never resumed.
I want to post pictures here, but for some reason, even when I back up my phone, most of the pictures don't show up to post here. Oh well.
Have a good week.

Hi all, still rehabbing my knee from my unfortunate accident on April 3rd. After two weeks completely at home have returned to school 4-6 hrs a day...and have been told I am overdoing it!
Karen...I am intrigued (again) by your Cubii...there seem to be many styles, which is yours? It seems like half of my office is exercise equipment and given what I do at PT, having a cubii might be a good addition.
We are definitely in spring here in SE Virginia...we actually had a high of 90 on Sunday for a whole 15 minutes....but mainly bouncing from mid/high 60's to high 70's/low 80's.
1.5 more weeks of school before finals begin! TT

It was 28 degrees here this morning (with the windchill it felt like 16). Three of the bravest Wednesday Walking Women bundled up at walked outside, the rest of us walked around & around the track for what seems like the millionth week in a row. A dog training walk and Dance2fit are in my plans later today.

We ended up getting for a hike with our neighbor and her dog. They are moving to Arizona in June and we will really, really miss them!

karen1956, I’d never heard of a cubii. I looked it up and it’s pretty interesting. I used to think that all offices should have devices like that to access the internet. It’s good that you are able to wake up and spend time pedaling! Great way to start the day.
Ruthbru, your scenery is beautiful. So different from here. We are in the full bloom of spring and it’s lush and green. Beautiful dogs.

trmtab -I have the Cubii pro.

sarahmaude: Welcome! Wishing you best during your chemo time. Moving during it really does help mentally and physically. Please keep us informed with your Penguin cap experience. I don't know anyone personally who used it and I'm fascinated by it.
castigame: Sorry you were yelled at for being active too soon after your surgery. Sounds like your surgery went so well you were itching to go!
TT: Goodness, you really did a number on your knee. Thankfully school will be over soon and give you more time for recuperating it.
Karen: I'm sure you're missing your dds.
Ruth: Great WWW picture. 28 degrees! Goodness. I know you'll miss your neighbor but I worry more for Bruno. His gf will be moving.
Went for my walk this afternoon. Had to quit with 1/2 mile more to go bc I started wheezing. Wasn't going to get any better so I stopped. Pretty sure it's from pollen. Very windy today and lots of it still in the air. We need a good soaking rain to help control it some.

Here's a picture from the trail we wandered around on yesterday. Yes, Wonderland, I feel sorry for Bruno as the first thing he does when he gets up in the morning is to look over to see if Ivy is out in her yard. I feel more sorry for her though; think of being a dog moving to Arizona in June! Boiling hot & where can you go to run free without worrying about cacti, scorpions, poisonous snakes etc.?
I am going to Pound this morning, Barre Sculpt, and we have another session of Doggie Obedience School tonight.

good morning all,
I took Rocky for a 3 miler this morning. About a mile of it jogging. He’s tired out now.Running after the DMX is definitely a lot more comfortable, lol. Tornados last night not far away and a dust storm here at my house was an interesting evening.

Ruthbru?
I thought we don’t talk about Bruno? Sorry, lol. Unless you have been tortured with the music from “Encanto” for the last couple of months, you might not get that. Beautiful trail

LOL! Yes, I get it. It is hard to not to talk about Bruno, when you have a Bruno!
It looks like Rocky is a Boxer. My son has a lovely Boxer/Husky mix (the result of an accidental pregnancy, a frisky make Husky jumped a fence!). She is a great dog!Karen, another one of your 'Colorado Lows' is wreeking havoc here again. It poured down rain all yesterday, and is predicted to go through sometime tomorrow. It's in the 30s so it is a cold, nasty rain (accompanied by some overland flooding). What a spring! Yesterday Bruno & I went out for his training walk right away in the morning (which neither of us enjoyed as it had already started raining). I'm off to Pound in a few minutes. If the rain lets up, we will take a walk later.

Ruthbru, what is Pound? Is it exercise? An animal shelter? A sand box? A junkyard for all the weight we aren’t gaining?
And please feel free to talk about Bruno as much as your heart desires. My two dogs are boxer mixes Unknown origins. I’m also taking care of one of my daughter’s dogs who just had knee surgery. He is doing great. This boy is a warrior. Last September he almost died. Found out he was bleeding around his heart. High chance it was a hemangiosarcoma which would have been a very poor outcome. Turned out he had ectopic thyroid cancer. He has completely recovered. I only hope to stay as determined as he is. Right now he is sleeping on the couch near mine.

All, I’ve kept up with my walking and remembered to wear my Apple Watch more which counts all my zooming around the house up and down stairs. It’s encouraging when I double my move goal without trying.
My pace dropped a little, and I realized that my second shingles shot was hitting me harder than the first. Arm hurts, joints a little achy. But moving helps.
We have our hometown arts festival this weekend. Music, dance performance, paintings, etc. It surrounds our Big Spring park and is a great way to get out and move. I think today is going to be a great day

My poor baby Mitzi is 13 and was diagnosed with Cushings last year. She went blind overnight, but still loves her walks after dinner and laying in the sun in the backyard

Awww.....we do love our pets! I read a good quote somewhere, "All dogs are therapy dogs. Some are just working undercover." Here's me with my pack. Bruno is front. DS's Dalmatian & Husky/Boxer on my left & right. The black dog with a little white belongs to DS's girlfriend. It's an animal house for sure when we get together!

Pound is an exercise class that consists of drumming, cardio and strength training using weighted drumsticks. It's a music based class, so you drum to the beat of a choreographed routine. 30 minutes on your feet. 15 minutes on a mat working on abs/butt etc. Very fun! Here's an old picture from a Pound class (before they had to limit the number of people per class when they reopened after the Covid shutdown).

Such cute puppies all !! A house isn’t a home without furry friends in my opinion. Pound sounds like fun

Ruth - its cloudy and cool today but colder and rain tomorrow then warming back up to almost too hot by the end of the week.
Going to be social this afternoon. One of my teammates has a ranch and she invited the team to an end of the year gathering. Even DH is going to go with me. It will be outside. The younger teammates with little kids are bringing them (some infants) so it should be fun. I think by far, I'm the oldest on our central team of about 20 people. A couple gals are 5-8 years younger, but some are younger than my older kids and one or 2 are just a year or two older than my youngest. Recently I helped with two interviews for SW who are a year younger than DD#2. That's when I know I'm getting old!!!!
Well, I best get off as I have lots to do for work before we leave this afternoon. Have a great rest of the day. Plus I want to get a walk in before we head out.

It's weird when the people you work with (or see professionally) are younger than your own personal kids!
I went to Yoga today & also got my second Covid booster shot. In May and June we have several graduations, a family reunion, and I'm flying to NC to my nephew's wedding. Since I know there will be unvaccinated people at each of these events (plus no mandatory masks on planes), I thought it was a smart thing to do. I had a day of feeling blah after the first three shots, so I am glad to report that this time I have had no problems.

Hi All,
No exercise today in the traditional sense but the weather was beautiful. I pulled 5 bags worth of leaves out from under the bushes and cleaned out the flower beds. Hostas are coming up, Iris and lilacs are blooming and I put in a bunch of azaleas today. I’m tired. Happy Sunday

beginagain: Yard work is definitely exercise! Our lilacs have already bloomed and are drying up. Their smell is intoxicating.
Karen: A social at a ranch sounds like so much fun!
Ruth: Glad your 2nd booster has been uneventful.
Sarahmaude: Amazing story about your dd's dog. And what a cutie!
Love all the dog pictures. We're cat people. I'm a reformed cat hater. Grew up with dogs and was never around cats. When dh and I got married a little kitten walked into my life and that's all it took! Currently we have Salem and Liadan: my precious kitties from the animal shelter.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

wonderland,
I am a fairly new cat lover too. We inherited one from our daughter. Sol is a pretty little ginger girl and she is very cool and independent. Loves the dogs and they love her. Thank goodness the DH does the litter box! We have had a late spring so everything is waking up late

beginagain: your ginger kitty sounds like a great cat!
Hi All! I pushed mowed for 2 hours and 10 minutes today. It's hot but the humidity is not that bad, for now. Normally dh and I mow together but he's on 2 weeks of restrictions (can't pick up anything over 15 pounds, no mowing, etc.) bc he had a benign polyp removed last week during his colonoscopy. The yard looks good but I'm a sweaty mess lol.

Thunderstorms last night (not that I heard them due to my hearing) and rain this morning. Much needed moisture. Cold and damp rest of the day 30s and low 40s. Tomorrow back to the 60s and by the end of the week high 80s!! Too hot for me. Personally, this time of year, sun, blue sky and 60s is perfect.
I started making dinner about 1/2 hour ago thinking it was close to 5:30 - I look at the clock on the microwave and see its an hour earlier so I turned the stove and rice cooker off!!!
Wonder - that's a lot of mowing!
I've never owned a cat...I'm a dog person. My DH grew up with dogs as well. We're still undecided about getting another dog after 2 1/2 years since we lost Mischa. It is easier to get away without worrying about who will take care of the fur baby.
Need to get everything ready for my end of the year review tomorrow - but I doubt I'll get it all done. I'm not sure if it is in person or google meets! I guess I need to look at the meeting invite. I'm sure it will be okay, but of course I always worry.
Have a great night.
