Lets Post our Daily Exercise

Oh for goodness sakes, TT, how discouraging! I had a Happy Haircut this morning, after which I went to the grocery store and tried to buy things that are gluten-free. One of my best friends from college, her DH, and 2 dogs are passing through town and will be eating dinner at our house. They don't eat gluten (allergies), so I am scrambling. I'm not sure if I will sneak any exercise in or not.

SarahMaude - hope you are feeling better
trmtab - sorry about your knee and testing positive. DH and I have one booster and we decided tonight that we are going to get the 2nd booster sooner than later. We had our first booster the end of August 2021. I just ordered the 8 free home antigen tests. The local station doctor who is a cardiologist said anyone over 65 should consider themselves high risk regardless of any other underlying conditions - to get 2nd booster, test at home before travel and as soon as have symptoms start the covid meds.
Ruth - I don't miss tick season - stay healthy
We booked our flights to see our girls. Had. to play around with dates to get a decent fare. We had travel vouchers from our cancelled trip in December - I tried to book our tickets together but it would only let us use one voucher - so I got on two computers to book them simultaneously.
Just over 2 weeks of school!! I bought my intern a gift on etsy and I hope it comes before Monday as we meet on Mondays and this coming Monday is our last Monday. If it doesn't come in time, I just bring to her at her school the end of next week as it should arrive by then.
Thursday it is supposed to be 88 and Friday 49!! Mountains and foothills might get snow. I hope we get rain as we need the moisture.

Hi All,

I’m getting better! Talked to MO nurse who said labs showed great recovery with white blood counts. I’ve got a productive cough, really strange since I skipped most normal early cold symptoms. Must have been a thing with the chemo nadir. They said to take mucinex DM and call if I have fever.
I may try walking around our circle tonight. Missing my walks, but don’t want to cough more than I already am.

Today the Wednesday Walking Women headed to the little, tiny town where one of our members was born. She gave us a walking tour, we ate a the local restaurant, checked out the enormous farming operation of one of her relatives, bought some meat/buns/cookies etc from a small local deli. Lots of fun. I went to Dance2fit tonight.

In the spirit of posting my daily exercise, my activities so far this week are:
- Met up with an old cycling friend of mine and his lady for a cycle into Coeur d'Alene for lunch two days ago and then tea at my place. For entertainment, we decided to put up my dining table, but alas the glass top was completely shattered Wayfair is sending a new top, but what a bummer.
- Lots of bending exercise cleaning up that unholy mess and getting it up the stairs to my car. Amazingly, we are still friends.
- Yesterday was a dump run with guess what? and then a very windy walk. I also made a huge batch of Rillettes de Tours to take to the vineyard and which should be enough for everyone.
- Today, I am off to the vineyard with Wine Club Party this evening. I will be helping set up. Hope to walk the vineyard too. No camping this year as they cut down the camping orchard. Glad as it's snowing in the Cascades today and still generally nippy out. (I am still wearing winter clothes.)
- Tomorrow, I am doing some helping out but plan is to cycle the Naches River Valley and see the masses of yellow irises which bloom this year.
- Saturday is a day of labor cleaning up and stocking wine. Much of the help is from Northwest U, students of osteopathic medicine. Very helpful and polite and a joy to work with. Though hope to hike the Cowiche Canyon in the AM.
- Sunday is the Yakima Canyon ride. I must take a check to pay as no wifi in the Canyon.
- Back home Monday as will need to rest up.
Feel tons better Sarah Maude! - Claire0 -
Wow Claire, that is quite a catch up! ...and still wearing winter clothes, wow.
In SE Virginia we are heading into an unseasonably warm weekend...97 Fri/Sat...which are our graduation days. Academic regalia and 90's don't mix well. We can have more folks attend if outside, but fainting grandmothers is something I can live without! But moving inside doesn't seem to be in the cards yet.
Sunday is my mother's 87th birthday...she has been calling herself 87 since the turn of the year, now she can own it

You are busy, Claire!
Happy Birthday to your mom, TT!
It is raining here again (sigh). I will go to Barre Sculpt tonight & maybe stay for part of Zumba. I am meeting some friends at the cinema to watch the new Downton Abby movie after that.

Dh and I are on a trip so this is quick note to say Hello. Will write more when return home tomorrow. Now we are in Charlottesville. Tomorrow we are going to Monticello and the temperature will 96 degrees. Sound familiar, Ruth?

Snow in the forecast for Friday and Saturday. It got to 90 today and at 7:06 its still 84. By tomorrow it will be in the 40s. I will bring in my 2 petunia hanging baskets and the plant my son bought me for my birthday that I planted in a pot for the garden fountain. We generally wait till Memorial Day to plant. This year DH wants to plant ground cover in the fountain garden and petunias but just not as many flowers so in the winter there is something besides dirt.
Trntab - happy birthday to your mother. My late mother's birthday was in October. In January, she would start saying, I'm going to be X. It's a Canadian thing to say I'm going to be Y. My SIL does it all the time!!! Last week my DH was in Vancouver for work and one of his accounts asked how old DH is and DH said I'm going to be 67!!! The guy got a good laugh out of it, not knowing my DH has Canadian family through me and now our DD#1.
Claire - busy week - sounds like a lot of fun.
Two weeks - it is going to drag, yet go so quickly. I have so much work to finish before the end of the year. I have 2 comp days left and want to use them. I think I'll take the next 2 Thursdays off - DH gets annoyed when he thinks I'm not getting to use the time as how hard I worked last June parts of the rest of the summer.
DH and I are going to get our second booster. Pfizer for the 1st three, so going to get the Moderna. We keep hearing too many doctors on the news saying, over 60, over should get the second booster. Hoping for no side effects. DH had side effects with the others and each vaccine, the reaction was worse.
Sweet dreams.

Wonderland, a steaming hot Monticello does ring a bell (we were there on a day one July when the heat index was 124!!! )
We have a cold front coming in too, Karen. Some snow flurries and frost warnings Friday & Saturday night. We are invited to a graduation party in a park on Saturday & the high will be 46......not exactly the weather the family was hoping for!
If you a a Downton Abby fan, be sure to see the new movie. It is excellent!

Went this morning for our 2nd booster. We both had Pzifer for the first 3, but switched to Moderna based on DH's retired PCP. Hoping for no side effects. I didn't have any besides sore arm, but DH got sick with each one and each one was worse.
Cold and damp - its been raining all morning and turning to snow this afternoon. Brought my plants in last night. They keep increasing expected snow totals. High schools are scrambling to figure out alternative places for graduation. I won't complain about the weather as we really need the moisture and I rather have this than 90s in May!! The only thing I miss is walking when it rains. Now snow, that's doable to walk - just bundle up!! I don't put away summer or winter clothes as they are all in the same closed - same with shoes - as in summer I live in my Chaco sandals.
Need to get busy cooking, baking and cleaning. Have a great Friday

Hope you had no reaction to your booster, Karen. How much snow did you end up getting? We have 3 days of freeze warnings & predicted flurries. We are headed for South Dakota for a graduation party in a PARK......it will be cloudy & about 47 degrees, so that does not sound like very much fun. One of DH's grandnieces is the graduate. We may not hang around as long as we had planned.
Yesterday I did a pilates DVD & danced around to Marshall Fitness on utube. Today l will do an ab DVD & some sort of cardio before we leave.

Sarahmaude: Sounds like you are improving nicely from your neutropenia. Hope the pain around your kidneys has resolved. I became neutropenic after my 4th AC treatment and was in the hospital for 3 days. Received fluids and blood transfusions plus given an extra week off before moving on to Taxol. Like my friend told me: if you get sick during chemo the doctors patch you up and send you right back in. She was right!
TT: Sorry you have covid and that you have reinjured your knee! All right here at your busy graduation time. Hope covid has been easy on you.
Ruth: TICKS! I hate ticks. Please continue to check yourself and Bruno daily. Monticello was hot but it was not as hot as when we went.
Karen: 84 degrees to snow the next day. Good grief!
beginagain: Keep up the good work!
Claire: What a mess with the broken table top!
Got home from our vacation yesterday. In 2019 I was the highest bidder on a silent auction trip to Skytop Lodge in the Poconos in PA. 2 nights and meals included. Had planned to go in 2020 but that didn't happen. Finally got to go last week. Had a blast! Went to Gettysburg for 2 nights on the way to Skytop. Stopped at the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg PA. Skytop Lodge is amazing! Lots of hiking (and eating). Stopped in Charlottesville for 1 night and visited Monticello. Lots of driving but so worth it.
I won the silent auction trip though an organization called Casting for Recovery. They provide free weekend retreats for women who have or have had breast cancer. Participants learn fly fishing but it's so much more than just fly fishing. I attending the NC retreat in 2010 and had a nice, relaxing time. Even caught a trout! I've never fly fished before and I haven't since the retreat but I experienced at the retreat will always stay with me. Here's the link to the organization: https://castingforrecovery.org/

Ruth - no accumulation on the roads but on the grass. Lots of downed tree branches. We lost a small one in front and a larger one in bak - fortunately that one didn't take the power line with it. I think I can put my plants back out.
Sore arm and achy this morning that went away with 2 acetaminophen. DH had a reaction as with the 3 Pfizer. Sore arm and feeling lousy all day. He did feel okay for a walk late this afternoon, but that wiped him out.
Wonder - sounds like a nice trip. I've heard of casting for recovery. I wouldn't fish, so never thought to apply. It is a great organization. I won't buy trout with the head on it
Two walks today - the one with DH and one in the later morning and read the rest of the day. 200 on a 300 page book. Hope to finish it tomorrow - but I also have some report writing to do.
Sweet dreams

Karen: sounds like your dh recovered fairly quickly from his second booster. Luckily I only had a slight sore arm.
Walked/ran this evening. Also did some yard work.
Here are a few pictures from our trip.
Watch out for the Yankee sniper in the tree!
Gettysburg statue of Rebels getting ready to participate in Pickett's Charge. The Skytop Lodge. It's huge! There also cabins and a lakeside lodge. Reminded me of The Overlook in The Shining by Stephen King.

I would have loved that vacation, Wonderland. When I was at Gettysburg, I don't think our guide liked me very much because I kept wandering off! Did you get to see Eisenhower's farm which was right down the road?
Yesterday I went to Barre Sculpt & Yoga, Today I will go to Pound. At some point I need to pack because Wednesday morning I fly off to NC for my nephew's wedding.
0 -
Hi All,
3 miles walking this morning. Lifted butts and guts. Hysterectomy and BSO on Wednesday so just one more workout for a little bit. Ttyl0 -
Good Luck, Wednesday, beginagain!
I never did get to Pound because at class time I was sitting outside with my neighbor visiting while our dogs played. When I come back from the wedding, they will have already moved away.

I'm on vacation mode so my exercise will be running through airports & helping my sister do errands, set up etc. etc. The wedding is in her backyard, so lots of work! I'll check in on occasion. Have a great week!

Ruth: Eisenhower's farm doesn't open up until this weekend. We just missed it. I know you and Bruno willl miss your neighbors. Safe travels! Lots of rain the last few days but Saturday should be fine.
beginagain: May your surgery be successful with a quick recuperation time for you.
Ran errands today and no formal exercise. Yesterday I found out I need to have one of my wisdom teeth extracted. Ugh. It' not until next month.
I'm numb about the school shooting in TX. Disgusted, sad. Very sad.

Good Wednesday morning. The final stretch for the school year with be harder with yesterday's horrific school shooting. Kiddos and adults will all be hurting. I plan to take one of my last two comp days tomorrow, but I'll probably do some much needed paperwork.
Want to see Top Gun this week-end.

During the evening national news tonight, the tragedy in Texas hit me hard - started crying when they were interviewing a little girl who was a witness. It's the first time in a while that I thought it could happen to me - I've been in the schools for over 30 years and I know that schools are for the most part are safe but tonight I felt vulnerable. I have my float team meeting at 9:00, then I'm taking the rest of the day as a comp day - but I'll end up. writing reports. Then I'm taking my last day off next Thursday - and all my paperwork will be done - a lot of it on my own time!!!
Everyone stay safe.

It is a tragic world when even this sort of thing does not move those in charge to ACTION.
I made it safely to NC. We have already had a plot twist in the Wedding Weekend. While I was in the air, my BIL was in surgery having an emergency appendectomy! They were able to remove it laproscopically, and he should be released today. Yikes. In a few minutes my sister and I will start with the list of errands she had planned for yesterday and go from there. Hopefully there will be no more bumps in the road before Saturday!

Good grief Ruth! Hope he is feeling better. I was convinced I was having appendix problem one time. Went to the hospital thinking I would be having surgery. Turned out I had a kidney stone. Pain was in the front not back like kidney pain usually is.
No formal exercise today. Dh and I were in charge of a Red Cross blood drive. Was a little disappointed with the turn out. We had 23 appointments booked out of 25 time slots, which is pretty good. But we had 3 deferred for low hemaglobin and 7 no shows. It's the no shows that are disappointing.

Ruth - hope your BIL feels well enough to enjoy the wedding
Wonder - when my oldest DD was almost 17, we took her to the ER because she was getting dehydrated and had severe abdominal pain. We spent several hours there on a Saturday evening/night and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They sent her home and said to come back the next day if she wasn't better. They were thinking it was appendicitis and about to operate when they decided to do a barium test and it turned out it was a ruptured ovarian cyst. Thank goodness for the test or they would have opened her up for no reason. I had to force her to drink the barium - it was horrible.
One more week - I took most of today off, but did right a report early this morning then did some other paperwork in the afternoon. I will do more tomorrow and throughout the week-end to get it all done.
Today at one of the high schools in my large urban district was on a lock down, then the kids were evacuated. Two **** kids brought a paint ball gun to school. I had turned on the noon news and it was the top story. The email we received as staff said nothing!!! So traumatic. The world is upside down.
Have a great Friday

Karen: Good grief! Glad your daughter was given one more test before having unnecessary surgery. And you're right, the world is upside down.
After days of rain and scary storms, the sun has come out. Walked/ran this afternoon.
Ruth is an hour away from where I live and we are having lunch together on Monday. So excited!

Hello All! We have been working non-stop for the last two days. My takeaway is that you should never agree to host a wedding in your backyard! Yikes, too much work!! BIL has been doing much more than someone who is just out of the hospital should be doing, so I think he will crash after the wedding tomorrow.
I am excited to see Wonderland on Monday!!

Just got caught up on 4 pages of posts. Seems like the site is moving faster again. Busy couple of weeks for me at school as we were awaiting our big accreditation visit from NAEYC. The assessor came on Monday and we won’t know results for 3 months.
Ruth- we hosted a very small backyard wedding in August 2020 and it was a lot of work just getting the yard ready but it turned out lovely. They were lucky to have your help. Maybe it will be easier that you aren’t home when your neighbor drives away. Hugs.
Karen- I cannot imagine what those poor kids, families and staff are going through! The feeling at school is so heavy. Everyone is on high alert and feeling very vulnerable. This madness needs to end. Good luck getting your last things done.
TT- I hope your leg is doing better.
SaraMaude- Hope you’re feeling stronger.
Claire- what a busy life you have these days; enjoy!
I requested a breast MRI since I got my implants almost 11 years ago. I haven't been feeling great this year (even before getting covid) and have been reading about BII(breast implant illness) so wanted to be sure they weren't leaking or anything. The results showed that they are intact and looking good. However, the images picked up something else: “a structure at least 4 cm in length likely involving the spleen”. No idea what that could be. Had a cat scan on Thursday and am anxiously waiting for results. Fingers crossed.
