hi all and welcome dunesleeper.  NWArtLady, congrats on finishing rads!

Ilene, my balance has been off since chemo.  I attribute it to the inner-ear cilia being damaged.

I wobble on the solid ground, can't imagine it on a Wii balance board.  :-)  If you can find one at a reasonable price, I recommend a beginner's class with a teacher who will watch your alignment and make sure you're safe.

    Happy (belated) Birthday, Ruth!

Did A.M. yoga and P.M. Scrub & Sculpt.

Belated happy birthday Ruth! Woohoo, NWArtlady for finishing rads!

Climbed 50 flights on the stairmaster. Some weights, including some jumps on the leg press machine.

Belated happy birthday to you, Ruth.

I did 35 minutes on the treadmill at the gym this morning and it felt great! Thanks for the motivation, ladies.

heidihill  Thanks for the leg press video - looks similar to jumpboard, but with flexed hips.  I think that you would like jumpboard too!   NWArtLady  Congrats on the last of rads!  Hope you're feeling better soon.  misswim  Go girl, on that spin bike!  Glad that your hubby is so supportive!

Did a three hour hike with kids and dog to a local preserve area - dog was off leash most of the time and behaved nicely.  Picnicked at the top of a hill and watched hang gliding.  Glorious day.  Dare I say it, spring has arrived in Budapest.

Sorry I missed your birthday Ruth, but hope you are enjoying your birthday "weekend"!

On the Wii Fit Plus, I avoid the strength training and yoga, as I would rather not be using a board for these types of excercises!  I have pretty well done all the other choices and have my favorites in each category.  I really enjoy the Zumba 2 for Wii also, but that is how I ripped the sole off of my shoe!!!  Cool  My DH has "repaired" my shoe for now, probably because he knows there is nothing I would like better than to go shoe shopping!!

Today will probably be a lazy day as I have been feeling a little under the weather today!!

    Happy Birthday Ruth!

I'm willing to order t-shirts and we'll figure out how to get them to anyone who is interested at some point.  So we're thinking "Sculpted Sisterhood" on the front, and did we ever come up with final wording on the back?  I think the most votes went to "The Voices Make Me Do It!"  Is that right?  I'll see if I can come up with some sort of stylized human figure to put on it.  I also agree that women's cut t-shrts are better, but not sure of the pricing.  I work for our Rec Dept and we order lots of shirts, so I'll talk to some of my co-workers about prices and who some reasonable vendors are.

Just finished a 6.25 mile run - and at an average of 11:27 a minute!!   I know that sounds slow to real runners, but that's a new record for me for both speed and distance - 6 months ago I was averaging 13 minute miles for 5K races.  You all inspired me to sign up for that 10K in April, and it turns out that having a goal really works to focus me.  I've been gradually increasing my long runs, and today was the first time I actually ran the distance.  Thank you ladies - your Voices have been such an encouragement!!!

    NatsFan: Congratulations! Job well done!

joyh1109:  The hike sounds wonderful! Hang gliders, I've always wanted to try that! I saw them in Seattle jumping off a hill/mountain once...One day Laughing

Enjoy the rest of your day Ladies,

6 miles with the girls this morning, plus another 4 miles on my own after they left. Seems that yesterday's pilates class really made me feel strong for today's run, good to know! And having a double digits run in the books like that is a good confidence builder the day before surgery. I hope to be back to at least walking within a week's time.

Keep hearing those voices, ladies, and do what you love to do. :)

    Happy birthday Ruth!

    Good luck tomorrow, Esther! :)

I am SO incredibly sore from yoga and spin yesterday that i could not have exercised if I tried. I went for a massage, and watched my DH and DD on the slopes and sat in the lodge to read a book.

Anusara yoga class tomorrow night. Some sort of cardio in the a.m. Have a great Monday!

Nats, I am putting my order in now :)

3/3 - 15 minutes on recumbant bike, about 60 RPM, and 15 on the treadmill about 3 MPH except for 2 minutes of jogging at 4.5 MPH.

3/4 - 15 minutes on recumbant bike, about 80 RPM, and 15 on the treadmill at 3.5 MPH.

First times at the gym doing aerobics since my diagnosis in mid-December.  Re-excision and SNB on 2/17.

Have been experiencing occasional tingling and numbness in the hand and arm on BC side (right) and the aerobics reduced this significantly.

Plan to go slow with resuming weights.  I'm being very careful so as to avoid lymphedema.

Ellenk, do be careful.  I find raising my arms up during aerobics helps.   Are you on an AI as they sometimes cause tingling/numbness.  You may want to do an initial assessment with a lymphedema specialist just for a baseline.

NatsFan, that's fast, in my 'slow' opinion.  I'm still working on breaking 16!  Embarassed  The t-shirt front and back sould good to me.  Can't wait to get my order in and wear it proudly!

30 mins water aerobics today then 60 min massage.

Hi everyone!  Let's make this a superior workout week!

You ARE looking very strong, misswim, and agile!

    Welcome Ellen.

    Thinking of you Esther.

I love the tee shirt quotes!

More snow here; so shovel & sculpt, 15 minutes on the treadmill, & 45 of various toning exercises.

Had a fun birthday weekend but now better behave. I don't think the scales knows that calories don't count of birthdays Frown.

ruthbru, you were supposed to program the scale ahead of time to forget 'birthday calories'.  Too late now!

    Great pic, misswim.

Absolutely beautiful day here today, did Body Step class this morning and had a very relaxing afternoon tootling around Newport harbor on a duffy boat it was a friends birthday so we had a lovely little party on the water.  Misswim you are inspiring and beautiful. Good thoughts for tomorrow Esther. Ruth I think the shovel and sculpt has probably negated the calories so don't worry about it.

Will do another day of pilates challenge, and jumpboard.

misswim  Love the pic!  Bonnie  Your new avatar is awesome!  Good luck on your treatment today!

    Hi everyone else!

Having a difficult time since Friday, so much weirdness going on, but I've been excerising and am getting ready to go to the gym as I write this.

Some one on here has the statement "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" from Dory in Finding Nemo-that's what's running through my brain today.

    But I get tired sometimes!

Missswim, Wonderful photo -so strong and beautiful and full of vitality! Thanks for sharing that. I know I sometimes feel so weak after the rads and still fatigued, so seeing oneself strong was a wonderful idea on your husband's part. Bravo Good Husbands!

I am upping my commitment to spring cleaning my LIFE. I love symbolism and six weeks or 40 days is both symbolic and a time commitment that is the amount needed for a change or to embed a new pattern. And...my birthday is coming in about 7 weeks!

    Laughing

So, a week ago, I began spring cleaning my house. This week I will finish it (the dogs=part 2). And I am going to spring clean myself with a little more/different exercise (I am pretty happy with my routine, but now I want to re-energize it anew) and more going out into the world anew. I think the biggest change here I need is to let the light into me, into my house, into my work, back into my body.

Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
    It's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter

Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
    Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
    It's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces

Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
    Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
    It's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting

Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
    Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
    It's all right

    Here comes the sun

Here comes the sun, and I say
    It's all right
    It's all right

Truebff-I love that song!  We are indeed kindred spirits!  It makes me really happy when I hear it-I always think of George Harrison and his life, his ups and downs...just a human trying to do his best.  Thanks for posting that; it made my day!

"And, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

from Abbey Road. It was the last song recorded collectively by all four Beatles.
