JO, ANNETTE - can we make that a threesome.  My first "post" mammo with ultrasound to follow if indicated is friday morning too, check in 10:30 pacific time.  I'm really going to try to get the results that day.  My MO ordered it but I don't see him until July 21.

Thinking of all of you who are going for mamo or tests.  I haven't gone that far yet.  Just diagnosed in May of this year.  I do have an apt with rad this Friday for "session I", whatever that is.  Have a good week girls.  We are TUFF!

chabba - My MO ordered my mammo and I don't see him until Jun 20th.  I hope I don't have to wait that long - I see my gyno on Jun 8th and if I can't find out something on Friday - I will ask him to get them for me.  I should be done when you go in for yours - mine is at 8:30 central time - hope you wear something with big pockets, it could get crowded in there.

Thanks for all the prayers and cyber hugs.  My Mamogram on Friday was Clean.  I had a great weekend and decided to not think about cancer for 4 full days.  Now I am back to the grind and probably a few pounds heavier from all the picnics.  Next Step  PT Scan next Monday.

Sherry- thanks for sharing that news re. pain and what the dr. said...the massage therapist I met with said that radiation has quite a long shelf life and that our lymph nodes on the other side will take on the healing load if we move the lymph 'liquid' out of/away from the sore side ( ok..that is a lousy explanation of what she said to me but you get the message. She was able to bring the swelling down too. I also returned to the gym and pump class tonight afer the go - ahead was given so I am assuming thta will help also. ....and I emailed the dragon boat folks to see if they need another rower....that would be a great strengthener!

Jo- thanks..the cardiology appointment went very well. I am mor efit than most women my age, apparently, and all is GREAT!....

Annette- love you back my friend...thank you:)

Jo/Annette- I too will come in your pocket this week for the mammograms and you can join me next Tuesday...have the good breast done first so your brain does not go to the 'ow place'....thikn I might book a facial for afterwards...something to reward myself....have to wait for the results for the tattoo....will call my dr's nurse and ask her to tell me over the phone again rather than having me go in person....though I do get hugs from them both whenever I go in...so that can't hurt.

On another note....I would like to ask people to send some love out (or prayers up, whichever you do ) to a student of mine, Abdullah, who is in a medically induced coma in the hospital...he collapsed a week ago after riding his bike up a hill...sickle cell anemia...his mom and aunt will be flying in from his country hopefully tomorrow or Thursday. I went and sat by his side for a bit this afternoon....have been calling but was given the impression that they did not want people in their way....but I sat there and spoke to him and told him we were all sending him love and that I believ ehe can do this...he can survive this... What we are all going through is scary....pushes us to our core....but how much worse it would be if we were in another country going through something medically traumatic and not speaking the language....don't want to imagine it.

    thanks ladies:0

Sandee - I am going to wear pants with cargo pockets - so go ahead and jump in - there is plenty of room.  Of course I will join you on Tuesday - hope I don't get stepped on by the other gals LOL!  Next Wed I have my annual pap - that is going to be interesting - I have not seen my gyn since he called me on the phone over 9 months ago to tell me I needed to have a biopsy done.

Sending prayers and lots of love to your friend Abdullah.  Hoping he gets better real soon.  (((HUGS)))

Sandee, check out the LE thread...It's called I hate LE girrrr ... . they have tons of info on how to manage the flairs. I'm not sure if there is a difference between LE and edema. To me they're the same. Glad the massage therapist was able to help get the swelling down.

Jo and Annette, I had my first mamo since diagnosis in Dec and the ladies that did the test were extra careful not to injure me.Hoping they will be just as gentle with you. I go again next week for another plus Sat I'm scheduled for a MRI. I'm on the every 6 mo schedule by the Rad Onc.

This is already a busy June for app'ts for everyone!

wow we are a busy bunch! So glad your mammo was clear Ellen:)!!!

I don't think mine will hurt as I have my new boobs-BS is going to do an ultrasound...she has the machine right in her office and I must say, she is vey thorough, but gentle as well.

Sandee....I am sorry for your student, that is so sad and at least his family is coming...awww, heartbreaks know no race, creed or religion..I am sending all the healing thoughts I have to him

I love you all and wish nothing more than a moment of serenity in all of our lives this week that we recongize for the magic it is:)

Hi Sheila Looking at your profile it looks as though we have a similar diagnosis. I am sure that tumour markers would make you nervous. Here in Toronto the oncologist at my hospital does not do tumour markers. I do not think it is routinely done here as well scans are not done unless you have symptoms. I really enjoy reading your posts and love love love your pictures. Take care Lois.

Yes I did have one year of Herceptin. Glad for thatSmile. actually have a six month checkup with

my breast surgeon tomorrow and then in November will see the oncologist. Really enjoy how these appointments are being stretched out. I take Femara and that is it now for treatment. I actually had bilateral breast cancer, one tumour in one breast, two in the other and one little sucker was Her2 blah! I really enjoy this site so many interesting threads and lots of brave, strong and funny women. I really laugh a lot of some of their comments. We really give each other strength. xx

Just found out, oncotype is a 6.  That means no kemo.  I will call tomorrow and get my rads started.  Having 35 treatments and would like to get it done before the summer ends.  I feel like I have had the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders.
