Sherry so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad Cry it's really hard.  I am praying for you sister as you go through this difficult time of grieving.  Also, holding your hand and will be in your pocket when you have that lumpectomy on Thurs.  Praying for B9 results.

Granny hope all goes well with your GD giving birth and bringing that beautiful great grandchild into this world.  did you survive the snow storm?

Miss all of you so very much.  I need to get on here more.  But it's really hard with my little one running around during the day.

    Good Night

About 50% 0f CT is 100% without power so it may be a while before people can check in. I was praying hard through that snowstorm and we managed to keep power on despite almost everyone around us being in the dark. i was 2 days out from exchange surgery at that point and being without heat would have been impossible.

Hope everyone else got as lucky as I did.

Sherry- Hope you are hanging in there!

Grannydukes- congrats on the little guy!

So, i am done with my reconstruction, well, except for the nipples at the end of this month. My 6mnth checkup showed a lump in my rt breast.....did a biopsy and it seems to be cancer free. Just have to watch it. For some reason, i have been pretty strong thru all of this. Counting my blessings, but now i seem to be depressed! Is this normal????

ubnsmiley it is normal to have a let down and to depressed at this point.  We are so use to having to do this or that fill, treatment etc. Now we are learning how to live with it. Our minds have a lot of time to go places maybe we wouldn't let them go before.

Sherry - will be saying prayers for you on Thursday.  BC is no respector of timing in our lives.
GrannyD - What a blessing to have a new little one in the family.  Congratulations.  I hope you did OK with the snow.  My daugher & family from Bergen County came to Long Island during the storm with their 9 month old - no power, no heat...hope you did better.
Ginger48 - Glad to hear you were fortunate to have power in CT.  My other daughter kep hers as well and even had Halloween in her neighborhood.

I had an appointment with a new M.O. today for 2nd opinion.  It was the best thing I did.  He affirmed my treatment choice and spent a very long time explaining things to me that I didn't know. Just because I am Stage 1 doesn't mean I do not have questions and fears.   He even took a call from his home because his cat was missing.  (I love that human factor).  He encouraged me to move on quickly to rads since I am 9 weeks post surgery.  I have a rads consult at my first med center Thursday and the new MO said he will help get me in to the new med center for a consult.  I feel good about changing docs early on.
Have a peaceful, hug-filled night, all.
    Joan

Joan- so glad you are comfortable with the new MO. It is so important to feel like you understand what is happening and that your dr is listening to you.

Joan so glad you like your new MO that is so important.  I did not like my first one and switched at the end of rads and I am so glad I did.  I cannot even imagine going through this current situation with the old MO.

I hope I'm not offending anybody but I'm sick and tired hearing something every day about BC.

Today is the drink 3 months later drinking will be beneficiary for us. People still singing Happy Birthday on TV it's already November.Yell

I feel like we became a part of a group everybody obsessed about it. But nothing has been done.

I had absolutely no risks to develop BC and I did.

According to my DR it was an accidental not related to my life style.

I believe in keeping a healthy life style not just for BC but overall health.

    Enough is enough.

sorry for the long ranting but that's how I feel.

We need a cure or a vaccine not a new study which is not helping us.

HUGS to all of my sisters.

This is regarding the new studies about light drinkingcause of the BC

shelia I agree! Enough pink enough cute names and bumper stickers for breasts. Give us some dignity and respect. We need to cut the cutesy stuff, the pink mixers and all those companies that give very little of what they make on their pink things and be serious about what this disease is really about. Lives.  I just lost a dear friend who was diagnosed one month before me to this hideous disease.  Do you think she appreciated the save the ta ta's or any of the other stuff.  Sorry to vent as well but I am sick of it.  The only people that think it is cute are those that still have their breasts!

The Today Show had a segment on a pink fundraiser I could support.  A high school of 1,100 students that dedicates one Friday night home football game a year to cancer....not just BC.  Everyone wears pink, students, team, faculty, families, fans, everyone.  Every player dedicates his game to someone he knows with cancer and has that persons name on his pink jersey instead of his own.  I forget exactly how much they have raised but the amount was amazing.  At the end of the segment my DH distracted me with a question but I think they said the money was used locally to help the families affected.

    Thanks Determined.

Pink mixers or vacum cleaners  are not helping me much when I have to see my Oncologist every 4 months.
