I also watch all the repeats (not every night)

    I like L&O SVU.

Hi everyone! Interesting rants ~ bad/good diets, supplements, prev. 'scripts, towers, alcohol, exes (ha-ha!~~ threw that one in there for Sheila!) ......

Geez, I always sleep on my right side ........

My bc was on my right side ..........

    Oh, my, do ya think?!?!

It is so crazy. Why do the speculators have to come up with their reason for our bc??

    It Happened !!

Just don't make Us the villian !

Sheila, those were gems for sure -- "Maybe my wonderful ex caused my BC. "    You probably hit it straight on - the stresses we go through as women never seem to take a holiday - and then our body chemistry changes or some gene switches on and lets cancer cells grow.  Undecided

I was LOL over that profound bit of research in your link...
"More than 90,000 new cancer cases a year in the United States may be due to physical inactivity and prolonged periods of sitting, a new analysis shows".
I guess there is a prevention and cure after all.  Break and burn all the chairs in the U.S., and replace all cars with bicycles.  That's it!
(All I know is that when my 5 kids were home, I didn't sit down for years.  Even bathroom breaks were under a minute, or all kids were calling or sticking fingers or notes under the door Tongue out)

PS - I always sleep on my left side which is where my ca formed.  Go figure...can't sit, can't sleep...it's all suspect!

And don't forget that breathing could be a cause of cancer too, at least if you have certain pollutants in your air.  Don't think I'll give it up though............Wink

I've come to the conclusion that life causes cancer.  :P  No matter what you do, everything is suspect.  Sigh  Oh well, I still say live life to the fullest.  It's bound to piss off someone.  That sounds so Maxine like!

I wrote that comment after reading valjean's and joan's comments on what side they slept on. I had read somewhere that whatever side you slept on was more likely to get the BC and I just laughed. What are we supposed to do? Sleep standing up? It does get old. Just like lhasamom said: Life causes cancer. And lots of other things.

Thanks ladies for hanging out in my pockets yesterday.   I was in alot of pain yesterday because the tumor was laying on my chest wall muscle and according to my BS not an easy place to get to.  Today the pain is much better, did not take pain pills this morning but by lunch I needed one.  I have my surgical post op appt Monday afternoon and hopefully will have the path report back at that time.  But BS did say that if it was malignant she would be surprised so that was good to hear. When they got me in the OR and starting cleaning the area around the wire it fell out.  BS said she had never had that happen before and I looked at the mammo and you could see how there was a hook in the bottom in my breast so I don't understand how it could come out but it did.  Radiologist had to come and redo it, but I was out for all that excitement and made surgery a tad longer. So know the waiting game again.  WE all know how that sucks.

Good heavens...................what bullshit................if I sleep on my stomach, does that mean I'll get cancer in my shoulder blades.....................stress, certain foods, vitamin E overkill, wired bras, no bras, sitting to much, bouncing boobs when you do decide to run, soy, smoking, not breast feeding, having a fat ass, ....................have I covered them all.........................my sister-in-law smokes 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes a day since she was a teenager, has drank whatever was offered to her since she was 21, does no exercise whatsoever, and she is 74, and has no type of "cancer" that you can name.............................its fate honey, althogh they might have something with the "fat ass" part, since Estrogen plays a part in 1 type of cancer.

Maybe we should all live like Monks.....................hold on, they probably would get cancer too from lack of Vitamin D.....................no sun, and always under that friggin brown robe.............................I give up

If you haven't read anything by Diane Mapes, you really should.  She's a writer who's currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  She expresses our feelings (at least mine) exactly, and she will certainly make you laugh out loud because we've all "been there done that".

I am sorry for jumping in.  I've been looking for a job all day. My oncologist said I would live a long time if I didn't die of another disease.  The odds of my dying from this are about 5% in 15 years per her..  Can't I say I am cured  I would really like to, because I am trying to address another illness.  Is this really taboo to say this?  I would like to put this behind me.

    Thank you

Sherry glad you were able to check in with us to let everyone know you're doing somewhat OK... take the meds before you get to much pain. (((hugs)))

Granny - sorry I missed the birthday party but the chocolate cake sounds great...I'll take a piece since you have left overs. Congrads on the new GS. Was this a birthday present? Are you planning on staying there to help until Thanksgiving???? Bless your heart!

Good to hear all the rants.... it just feels good to read all that you've posted because I want to say yeah, me too...  I ate right, didn't smoke and only had a glass of wine on a holiday... breast fed my DD's didn't take birth control pills...stopped wearing bra's with wire...didn't even drink much coffee at least not to excess... but I do have an X.. :-) I also sleep on my left side mostly and have left involvement.

Granny, thanks for the CHOCOLATE cake... I was really wanting chocolate!

How is the new GS sleeping? Mom doing OK?

It defies what we all know about what causes BC... it could be just the fact we didn't eat spinach when we were kids.

How did i miss this sleeping on the left or the right side

    Where did you read it?

I sleep on both sides but prefer the right and yes you guessed it BC was on my right.

I always knew that one was gonna give me heartache.

I had 3 BX since 1996. First 2 were B9 and the third one i hit the jackpot.

On this day three years ago, Nov 5, I was freed of the cancer that was growing in my breast. I remember the night before crying as I sat in my recliner near my DH, crying as I tried to sleep, & crying in the shower the morning of ... I can't believe three years has gone by, it still sems so surreal ... I had cancer ...

The ONLY good thing to have come from that experience has been the beautiful friendships I have made with some of the most wonderful women in the world. I am so proud to be among you. You are my rocks, you are the walls I lean against as I try not to slide down near the edge. I love you all so much, I would do anything for any of you. I am always here for you, please know that.

I'm starting to cry now, so I must finish this.

    ♥ ♥ ♥  & HUGS

It's quite interesting about the sleeping sides!
OK - so I spent 54 months of my life pregnant; breastfed for more than 8 years; never took HRT....go figure....

    Valjean,Happy Cancer-free-versary!
Although I have not known you but a month or two, I admire your wisdom, the thoughtfulness that goes into your posts, and your commitment to be here for "members of the board"  old and new.

    Sheila,
I must have signed off but still didn't sleep....am always tired with eyes wide open. Undecided

There's no one around me who wants to hear about my treatment decisions any more.  I'm getting "you're strong" and "you'll be fine" ...yes, am Stage 1 and ER+ but have rads sim on Thursday and I can't lie still and breathe and I have wicked relentless allergies that pool in bad places when I lie flat.  I am practicing lying flat to see how long I can go.    I know rads are easier than chemo, so I don't want to complain - I just want to find a way to deal.
Guess I'll need the xanax and a driver.  The good part is it is for a short time!
