on my oldest great grandsons (20 mos old)tapes there is one that has older kids singing YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT....so jerk that I am go out and buy my GD a juicer and start telling her about all the baby food that has all kinds of crap in them....now every time she sees these studies she says SEE this bullshit....leave me alone.We eat pretty healthy im not gonna be one of these crazy mothers you want me to be SINCE YOU GOT THE BEAST!!!!!guess i betta shut up before they throw me out.

Thank you everyone for all the kind words. You humble me...
You know, this Nov. 5th (as one special sista called it) "ReBirth Day" was just like yesterday and the day before and the day before that. Maybe that is a good thing?? Maybe it means I'm moving forward??
This past year seems to have literally flown by, but I think I was stuck in the mud for a lot of it. I don't think what I was going through was depression - but ... I think I was 'lost'. I just think I have come to the realization that I have to (or maybe not 'have', but 'should') give meaning to every day. That I have to feel it, you know? Not just be in it, but feel it. I just can not keep worrying about what could happen .... I'm going to lose the here-and-now. And then I will lose myself.
Am I making sense??

Val---rebirth---nice way of putting it...congrats to you and sheila..now if we could only follow your words...its easy to say but sooo hard to do...I too try to live in the here and now...sometimes it works like now with the new baby but in the dark hours that monster does rear its ugly head(sometimes)

Granny, I made most of my DD's baby food, used cloth diapers, made granola and had a great garden. (I also ate spinach when I was a kid - loved the canned stuff). One thing I did do and wish I hadn't was carry my small phone in my bra... yep, I didn't have a holster for it and when I went to baseball games or sometimes even at work, I would "hide" it in my bra. Right side, right BC.
I'm baking some pumpkin "pie" right now. I don't like the crust so I just bake the pumpkin using my recipe for the filling. Instead of canned milk, I use almond milk, two eggs and honey. I like lots of spice so add enough to give it a "kick". Can't wait until it's ready to eat!

Wow Samsue....................that is weird.............phone in bra, on the right, and right side bc......probably just a coincidence, but hmmmmmmmmmmm........makes you wonder, especailly with all the crap about cell phones and brain tumors.
However I still say, its the luck of the draw, and we got a shitty hand.....................but if nothing else good came out of our lousy luck...........one thing did................we got to meet, and share our thoughts, with some of the best women in the world.....................when no one else wants to listen..............I always have a kind "eye", just a "key stroke" away..........love you ladies..........

Ducky---i agree with you 100% about the fact that we got the short straw.....And it did change all of our lives....in more way then one....the good,the bad and the ugly.....I am tryin to stop thinkin of HOW i got that damn beast im thinkin of how i can keep that sucker from comin back.....AND no i did not keep my cell in my bra but i know at least 50 people who did and still do and they never even heard that it can/will/does cause the beast....FIND A DAMN CURE/VACINE....

Babies are so wonderful.... I always wanted to be one of the rockers at the NICU. And, Granny, sounds like someone has their day/nights mixed up... or maybe two people do.. are you sleeping yet?

I remember the day this thread was born. I was kind of like the midwife. Two years already? Time flies when you're having fun...er, cancer, I mean. The cancer was so not-fun but, Sheila888, you do have a fun group of Stage I gals here. They are friendly and caring just like you. Happy Two Years and more!!!

Congratulations on a job well done, Sheila!! This thread has been a lifesaver at times and a hoot at others! It is the first Favorite on my Microsoft Favorites list, I didn't put it like that but because I click on it so much, that's where it has ended up.
Samsue ~ You don't like pie crust?!? I like it better than most pies that are in it! Actually, I do love pie, almost any!! When I make my crust, there is always that bit around the pie dish that you trim off, you know, and I make round cookie cutter shapes, put cinnamon & sugar on them & bake them and EAT them ALL myself! So sinful, but, oh, SO good! I did not make my famous from scratch Banana Cream Pie this summer & I don't know why. Actually, I didn't do a lot of things I normally do this summer. (anybody look at my flower garden lately??) Maybe because I was a bit lost ..... but I can do something about that, can't I?
Oh, K, he is such a sweetie, so beautiful! Oh, to hold one that tiny again ........

Congrats Val. On my one year anniversary I woke up knowing it would be a day of reflection and sadness. My first thought was this is the day I chose to live by doing a very difficult thing. We are very strong in ways we never dreamed of. Congrats!

Samsue---im sleeping...i think im goin deaf....or immune...something happened last nite.he was up all nite and i didnt hear a thing.yay.i think the 20 month old is knockin me out.i do play with him all day.
