I'm here. I didn't see anything that looked like last year, so I'm assuming that is good. Yay Granny!! That must have been a long week.

I fell down again on the sidewalk, scraping my knee and hands. At least I kept my head and glasses out of it this time. I think my right foot doesn't lift itself enough when I'm walking. Not all the time, but it does trip me occasionally.

We crossed posts. Wren, omg, thank goodness you weren't seriously hurt! The next time you want to cross the street, give me a call!! Just kidding, of course. I rounded the corner yesterday & banged my shoulder into the corner of the wall, I'm ususally in a hurry & bang!!

Good News on your good feeling about your mamm. Do you have to wait for a call or a card in the mail?

Hi Val (& fellow nite owl sistas)...hope you are all doing well or sleeping soundly!
Granny!! didn't know...just got on....SOOOOOOo glad you got that done and that it is uneventful!!  Wren, soooooooo glad for you too, to have an routine result.  Yay!
Wren, sorry to hear about your fall...it's always a shock to land on the ground...I've done it myself.  Be careful...find the best shoes...and hope you are OK.
Off to sleep...have to get up in 6 hours.  And work 8AM to 9PM tomorrow.  I am getting too old to keep these hours.  I am developing a new course at work, and it gets voted on tomorrow.  After a year, I will try to make it an online course so I can spend more time at home.
    Hugs to all,

    Joan

Val, I'm hoping for a card in the mail. A phone call would be for more views. I do the bang into things also. Just not paying attention, I think.

About a week ago I went flat in front of the grocery store.  Somehow I managed to keep my head and face off the pavement.  Got myself up, pretending to be fine and walked through the store with a wonderful waffle print of dirt pressed onto my arm.  I am fine, but was sure sore for days afterward.  Embarrassment hurts more though!

Hope you are doing okay, Wren.

Hi all, so hard to post during the work week, but am catching up...snow just stopped.  No accumulation but was beautiful just like the other two days this past week.  Maybe more tonight...
I still have some chocolates left from Valentine's Day - not sure if having leftovers is a good thing or a bad thing??  am trying to do low carbs.
Cold tomorrow...I don't have to go out if I don't want to.
    Happy 3 day week end...

Hello all,  I'm a new "stage 1 sister" having been just diagnosis 2/7/13. I'm scheduled for bilateral mastectomy 2/21 with immediate reconstruction. I've chosen a tissue expander and will select silicon implants when the time if right. I am hopeful there's no node involvement but who ever knows until the results are back. I'm so surprised at all the decisions that have to be made and in a fairly short amount of time.  No one really can prepare you and being fortunate not to have friends or family go through this, it's all so new. I'm focusing on staying positive and grateful for the early detection as well as a fabulous team of doctors.  I've chosen all female docs for the first time in my life and feel they really do offer a compassionate perspective most men are incapable of (not their fault) just saying. I hope to have good news after my surgery and hoping my oncologist says surgery was all I needed. So that's all for now - wish me luck!

Yes welcome. And remember that at this early stage you don't have to rush it. I have a number of things I would have done diferently had I given myself the time to let the shock wear off and do more research. We are asked to make life altering decisions while we are still in shock and the word cancer is reverberating through our minds. My doc said my cancer had been growing 5-7 years. At stage 1, a few more weeks wouldn't have made any difference. Even if I made the same choices, I would have been more mentally prepared.

You will find lots of support here and on other threads as well. Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for the welcome and encouragement. I am comfortable with the decisions I've made so far, even in such a short span of time and just hope there are no complications. Waiting too long, for me, sounds like agony and as it is I've not been sleeping well.  Both my husband and I are tossing and turning but fortunately just received Ambien from our mutual physician so looking forward to a few good nights. Anyway, I'll plan on spending some time reading this board and learning about other's experiences. Thanks so much - it means a lot to hear from you.

Welcome Amy, I am wishing the very best outcome and a fast recovery.  Yes, there are a lot of decisions, and as Mini said, take time to gather the best information to make the decisions that are ahead.  There are a number of current surgery threads which you probably have checked out.
