Lynniea ... prayers and fingers crossed for clean scan and mammo.

When my aunt was going to be a grandmother for the first time, I asked her what she was going to me called ... granny?  No.  Memaw? No. Nanny?  No.  Grandmother?  No.  Grandma?  No.  Grandmama?  No.  I said what is the kid supposed to call you - Mrs. Randelman?  BTW, all the grandkids call her granny.

Jo ... always a pleasure to see you here.

Thank you all for the prayers.  I know all is well because God never fails.  I start back to work at my seasonal job on the water I can't wait. They were very good and they all missed me.  I know God is in control and I have to stand on that.

    Hi Gals,

I have been off the boards for quite a while. I am ill with a nasty upper respiratory bug, and my 87 year old mom has been very sick with the Norwalk virus for over two weeks now. She has been hospitalized twice and is very weak. I was helping her with some of her daily care needs at the assisted living facility but now I am too sick to help her. I also miss seeing my baby granddaughter but won't risk getting her sick too.

I am also having a lot of pain in my right arm (BC side). I was dx with AC joint arthritis, tendinitis in my elbow and impingement in my wrist. I also still suffer with cording and lymphedema. I am currently on short-term disability. I never thought I would need it, but I think this pain may put an end to my 30-year career doing accounting. Life is too short to be in that much pain from working every day. No job is worth it. I have tried wrist splints Patoo.

My foot is still suffering from nerve pain following the bunionectomy. My foot surgeon thinks that the screw, put in to hold the bone together, is pressing on the nerve and causing the pain. After the foot heals enough, he will remove it.

On a positive note, I have a new puppy. He is the brother of our other dog (from a previous litter) who is a year old now. They are goldendoodles. Baxter, the oldest, is black and Murray is golden. They are becoming best buddies.

I want to thank all of you who have prayed for me. You are such a blessing!

    In Him,

    Rocket

Rocket:  Congratulatons on getting your new puppy!  I hear you about the upper resp. infection.  I am getting over it as well...it was a bummer!  Wouldn't dare go see my DGD's...they would get so sick from it.  Better to stay home and take care of yourself as this might have a tendency to go into pneumonia if you aren't careful.

    Sending prayers and hugs.

Hi, Rocket, wow, you have alot on your plate right now, please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself. Let go and Let God. How fun that you have a new puppy!!!! Hey, new puppies make us walk and walking helps with stress, he,he!!!! I am sure your mom appreciates all your help with her. I have lymphedema as well. After 7 1/2 years of no symptoms, had two cases of cellulitis within a year. They determined that I had Lymphedema when they saw the swelling. I saw a lyphedema specialist in Chicago before we moved, and she did release me with an exercise routine that I do everyday. I am also on a maintenance antibiotic for a year. You are a very strong woman!!!! Many blessings to you, Kathy

Hi Rocket - you do have a lot going on.  The puppy was a great addition.  I don't have any pets at the moment but dogs are truly wonderful as they help to take the cares away.  They are so loving.  My prayers are going up for you to have some relief, for you mom and that you will be able to visit soon with your DGD.  It is hard to have to suddenly stop working but QOL is important.  You did your part for the working world so take all the time y ou need and enjoy it as much as you can.

    Blessings to you all.

Hi. I am new to these boards. I just got diagnosed with idc for 2nd time under 40. I am 39 and got it first time at age 28. They are not sure yet if new primary or local recurrence. I am still waiting to find out if i need to do chemo but i am getting a bmx this thursday the 23 rd with immediate reconstruction. I have two children and very nervous about whether any of my nodes were involved. 1 st time i did lumpectomy, chemo, rads, and tamoxifen for 1.5 yrs but got off and had one more child. My husband and i were saved 6 yrs ago and we are putting our faith in god for this cancer. Please keep us in your prayers for a positive surgery and that the cancer is gone.

Hi zillamom2.  Sorry you are going through this again but our God knows you and what you are experiencing.  Please know that you are in His care and hold on to His promises to see you through.  He knew you at age 28, even though you were not fully aware of Him and He got you through and blessed you with a second child.

Lord God in Heaven, I lift up zillamom2 to you to feel your loving presence in her life.  Help her to lean on you for strength and help her and her husband to continue in their faith journey regardless of the onslaught.  We know satan is not happy with their choice to follow you but we also know that the victory is yours.  In your name, Jesus, Amen.

I am thankful for your faith and know that God will help you get through this -even when sometimes it doesn't seem like we have the strength. He has the strength and that's the important thing. The doctors suspect that I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome today. They believe that it was caused by my mastectomy, radiation, and axillary node dissection. It would explain a lot of the pain that I'm having. Has anyone else had this?

JO-5:  So sorry to hear that you were robbed.  That is an awful feeling isn't it...you feel like you've been violated!  Happened to me once and I'm sure it was someone from the car dealership that brought me home when my car went in for repair, because he watched as I got in my other car and left for work.  The police say even a security system doesn't always work because they know exactly how long it takes for the police to get there and they are in and out quickly, so don't leave things lying around.  Just like you, we left a watch and briefcase in plain sight and that is what was taken.

God blessed you that you didn't walk in on them while they were carrying out their robbery, so the most important thing is that you are safe!  Everything else can be replaced.

Hi everyone. I read through the posts because I haven't been here for awhile. Actually came to the forum to find out if the body swelling I'm having is due to armidex (generic) My right leg is the worst and my stomach - I look like I'm 8 months pregnant. I feel like a balloon with arms sticking out of it. I think I need wrist splints because of the typing. Can't sleep in bed because it causes my lower back to scream, so I've been sleeping in my recliner since surgery two months ago.

But the worst of it is that I feel spiritually numb. Not that I don't talk to the Lord. I talk to him about the numbness. I almost didn't check in because I don't want to be a downer for all of you.

I've been doing family history online and am enjoying it. It's so good to have something enjoyable to do. But then I think it's a bit funny. The Lord will return and who cares about their family history then. Right now, I always wonder with each new ancestor if they knew the Lord and I will see them in eternity.

Sorry I have no words of encouragment. I know that he is still leading us and loving us, but the numbness is like a blanket so I can't think of words for you.

I do send love and caring your way and ask God's blessing on all of you.

    Peggy

Dear Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about your discomfort. I was on aromasin for 6 1/2 years, and I did not have the swelling, but sometimes bloating in my abdomen. AYou will certainly be I my thoughts and prayers for relief. Thank you for sending your love and I wish you the same. Next time you see your onc, tell him your side effects. God bless you! Kathy

Jo - So sorry to hear of all your recent troubles.  You give God glory even in your distress and He is honored by it.  He protected you from harm during the robbery and we are very grateful that you are still here.  He will see you through these other difficulties.  It seems like if we can survive BC, we can survive a lot of things.  I too am still struggling to find my way with all my stupid health issues that get me down, but know that God is in control and will never leave or forsake me. Your humor is refreshing despite your circumstances.  I need to adopt that attitude more often.

Peggy - Your body has been through a tremendous ordeal.  Be very kind to yourself and don't ever feel like you can't share your hurt here.  We all understand and have been there too.  We are your sisters in Christ. The numbness you describe could be depression. Have you talked with your Onc about this?  I struggled a lot emotionally for the first year.  After my treatments ended (chemo and rads), I struggled even more.  I am going to talk with a Christian counselor about my feelings about my health issues and BC.  Some days it's downright awful.  As Jo pointed out, Job really struggled, but continued to trust in the Lord.  God will not leave you destitute.  You are His child and He loved you enough to send His Son to die for you.  He promises to be Your help in time of trouble - even in our despair.  Hold fast to Him and to His promises.  Gentle hugs!

Rocket, I just finished doing some research and I am going off armidex. My Onc is not helpful. I've never been really happy with her, but loved my breast suregeon in the same center.

I'm going to try make an appointment at the Block Center in Illinois. It will be a bit of a drive from Michigan, but I'm hoping for better advice. One of the side effects of armidex is depression and sometimes manic/depression, which I have noticed has worsened since I started taking this.

I wish I could find a good Christian counselor. I see the psychiatrist at the cancer center but she isn't Christian. I have thought about asking the pastor at my daughter's church if he could recommend one. Her church has been very supportive, the pastor came and prayed with me, both at home and at the hospital before surgery. They also prepared a couple of meals for the first days at home. All this for a non-member! But after things are over it is normal for people to move on to other things. And I am in no shape right now to go anywhere. Can't wear my shoe without pain.

At 71 years old, I can't face years of these side effects; and from what I read they get worse with time and cause all kinds of health problems. My experience is that if there is a rare side effect, I'll have it. Please pray that I can get into the Block Center and they can help.

And I didn't miss the post about all you are going through. I still think of you often, but just couldn't think of encouraging words. I can't pray much lately, but sometimes lift you and others up to the Lord. I still trust in my salvation, but am sort of scared about what God is going to zap me with next (all for my good of course! ;)

So I'm off to look up the Block Center site for their phone number. Thank you for writing and for caring about others in the midst of all your own suffering. One wonderful thing to think about is that we will meet in eternity -- and maybe have a big party!

Dear Peggy, When I first went on Aromasin, I had a major bout of depression, but I did not go on an antidepressant again, because they all raise my blood pressure!!! By my second year on it , I felt so much better. Here is the funny thing, after being on it for 61/2 years, Imwent off off it and experienced depression again. So , I am now taking the lowest dose of lexapro, until the steroidal effects of aromasin are finally out of my system. I had side effects from getting off the aromotose inhibitors!!!!!! So wierd!!!! Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers, praying that Our Lord surrounds you with the right people to help you, and for strength and peace as you are dealing with this!!! God bless you!!!!!!! ROCKET! Thoughts and prayers are coming your way as well!!! JO- Prayers for as well, and Praise, that you and your family were not hurt. You are all such strong women and I so admire your strong faith!!! You all encourage and lift me up everyday!!!!! Kathy
