Lulu and Wren - Hugs coming you way from me too!

I was up again this week by 1.1 pounds - kinda weird since I am noticing changes in my body, but seem to be going up in weight.  Must remember to post EVERYTHING on loseit.com!

(((Lulu and Wren))) To imagine what you're going through and to think my biggest worry was getting on the scale . . . sure puts things in perspective. Love and hugs.

So . . . I only gained 1/2 lb! My thinking has become a little warped tho. Instead of thinking about losing weight, I'm thinking about not gaining too much. I have to work on that.

I made lo carb muffins with almond flour and chia seeds this week and it was a hit and I even forgot to put the butter in them!! ha! Found the melted butter in the micro after they were done. Is it too late to claim chemo brain?! It worked tho cuz they weren't so sweet and we were able to eat them for breakfast and dinner. (Kimberly, you are a food adventurer! Omaz, thx for the info about chia seeds. Sure could backfire if you don't balance them with water!)

My goal this week is to do 30 min of stretch every day.

So I have been reading about how good walnuts are for you - the omega 3 oils I think.  I usually have eggs whites in the morning but often find them unsatisfying so put in some string cheese or something but I wasn't happy with that.  Today I put about 5 walnut halves into my egg whites and I really liked it!  Rounded it out with some steamed spinach leaves and peach salsa - good!  The walnuts give the egg whites some meat.

    Shrimp Pomegranate Avocado Salad

Going to try this recipe this weekend for shrimp, pomegranate, and avocado salad.  Never had a pomegranate. Going to get those chia seeds too.

Thanks for all the hugs. They make me feel better. Kimberly, pomegranate's are messy to peel. It works to tear off a chunk and do the seeds from a small chunk at a time. There are membranes inside with the seeds stuck to them. Worth the effort in my opinion.

Omaz, I've never had peach salsa -will have to try!

Funny about walnut as they are one of my tried and true dinner protein substitues along with cherries in a salad and I just had to have that last night!

Your omelette sounds yumm. Have also never had walnuts in egg whites. Will try.

Well, I felt a little less roundish in the tummy this morning so I decided to test the scales again today, and golly bob, whaddyaknow, I'm down a whole pound from yesterday. Woot!

    Everybody shake your bootaytays today!

lulubee and wren I send love to both of you.

I skipped the scale this week. I am really getting worse regarding food and exercise.   Deep down I see laziness and junkfood as comfort and solace and healthy food and exercise as stressful and unpleasant.  I really need to work on my attitude.

JFV, I send love right backatcha.  Thanks.

Tell your 'tude to take a walk and start feeling some salad love!  Heehee.  I need to get in line right behind you -- I've been a tree sloth about the daily walks lately. But spring is coming!

Just noticed that Tuesday was the full moon. I'm sure that caused all the weight gain.

Yeah yeah, that's the ticket!!  I like that theory!  Big round moon up there = big round moons down here.  Cool

Ignore me, I'm a silly.  A silly with a big moon.

Just got educated about hormones in beef, was dipping my feet into getting away from hormones in dairy,  Organic milk.  So frustrated by my megagrocer putting hormone-soaked milk on sale last week, hormone-soaked butter on sale this week.  I am a cheap bugger.  It's hard for me to resist but so far so good.  You know, we only take baby steps and I am just beginning to understand and realize the hormones they routinely shoot in cows/beef in the feedlots as they fatten them pre-slaughter. I am taking the Anastrazole to wipe out the hormones.  At the same time, I am stoking the fire with the hormone shot up beef.  How come the oncologist doesn't tell me, I don't want you to so much as touch non-organic beef?  Lately I have been home cooking and eating my hamburger without pickles, without bun, without cheese and thought I was doing okay.  Now I realize it better be organic and not too often.  Arrrghh.  It's hard to figure what is safe to eat.  Not too many carbs, watch pesticides on fruits and veg.  No nitrates.  No salt.  Most meat is tainted unless 10-20$ per pound, fish and seafood only from fresh caught.  Good golly.  Thank god for organic peanut butter and jelly.

Up .7 pounds.  Not as bad as I feared after a week in Caribbean on vacation, then a calorie-laden Valentine's dinner last night.  I did do a lot of swimming, hiking, walking and jogging on vacation, so I think that helped.  Congrats Mary Louise and Heidi on the losses!  I'll do my best to join you next week!

Good Morning ladies...................well didn't make WW today...........forgot it was Wednesday.................does that sound like a good excuse..................no, I really did...........however.......I am trying another (gimmick).......I heard of this "gastric band hypnosis)...............its a book, you read, and a CD...........you listen to it everyday,,,,,,,,I'm on day 3, and honestly, it does make you aware.....not sure if any of you ever tried hypnosis, but I thought............what the hell.......I've tried everything else..............saw the guy on Dr. Oz..........the book is called "I Can Make You Thin"..................and comes with the CD..........$15.00 at amazon, free shipping........

I thought ..........if this guy can make me thin, then I want to be around when he also  "walks on water"........but what the hell..........I spend that much on "crap" I don't need, so what do I have to lose................I have a Bose headset, which is fantastic, and its like being in a soundproof room when you have it on, so I have complete silence to hear him speak....very calming voice, and last night, I actually either fell asleep listening to him, or was in a friggin trance, cause I don't remember the whole CD. .........you cound backward from 300, until your completely relaxed....................well I got relaxed alright.......I fell asleep................will continue WW till my "Pass" runs out, and then not sure what I will do.....................at least I haven't completely given up.........I will let you know how this works.

I must say, I am very aware of what I do now...........he says eat till you satisfied, stop, and if you have to eat something a bit later, just make sure its "real hunger" before you eat..........Oz. thought his theory was very reputable, and had people on the show who are doing it, and they seemed pleased.

There is a woman who does this in NJ, but its about 45 minutes away  you would be doing it in person with her, which could be better, but I'm not traveling to NJ to do it, plus if it doesn't work I'm out the money........  I'm sure there is someone in the area who does it also, but so far I have only found Philly, and I'm not going into center city.  In Philly right now you take your life in your hand.....horrible shit going on there.......flash mobs, and crap,  not for me.

In person its $150.00 a session, and if you get to 3, and your not losing weight, they stop, cause your not a good candidate.............so their not taking your money forever................Good Lord, I will try anything........but again..................age, plus yo-yo dieting for years, has hurt me................

I haven't checked in for a while.  In my last post, back in Jan., I was happy about being down to 161.  Well, today I was 163.  Not surprising since I've been eating Valentine's candy for two nights in a row.  Plus I bought a Kitchen Aid stand mixer and am having fun making Italian peasant bread, which is SO-O-O good with EVOO dribbled on a slice and then a sprinkle of parm-reg before you heat it in the toaster oven.

I'm  tired of having a rounded stomach above and below the waistline.  I really must get serious about losing 10 lbs so I can wear my size 12 clothes comfortably.  Someone was telling me that lifetime WWs can subscribe free to the website if they're goal weight.  I am a lifer and like the website but don't want to pay $19 a month, which seems pricey.

Congrats to those who are losing weight.  I remember how good that feels to drop the lbs.  I wonder if arimidex really does make it more difficult to lose weight.  Not to mention getting older.

No, I'm not claiming the gain on the day after Valentine's day.  Nope, not doing it, nope, nope, nope - it's just not fair!  See you all next week instead.

(congrats to those who are down)

Held my weight from last week. I don't think Valentine's Day has shown up yet. Little afraid to weigh tomorrow after both salt and chocolate yesterday.

I've cut out a lot of sugar and I lost 6 pounds. I use my fitness tracker I phone app to track calories each day and that helps to keep it under control. If I go over I know when to quit.

Broke even, which is kind of disappointing because I was down 2 over the weekend.  Cut down on the alcohol but then acquired a craving for nuts, found fancy mixed nuts, roasted with no salt, in the bulk bins.  Oh, and then I found Planters Winter Spiced Nuts on sale 50% off because past christmas I guess, 19 ounces premium nuts for 3.50 and I couldn't pass that up.  I'm such a cheap bugger, I am tempted to go back and get another 5 cans.  Then those macademia nuts looked interesting too, never had them by themselves, only in cookies.  So I mixed them together in a bag.  While I was eating the nuts, maybe half cup a day, I was thinking this has to be good for my HDL and insulin resistance. Probably.  No good for the weight though.  Nuts.  Congratulations to all of you who did well.  Oops, and I had that fatty rib steak for Valentine's treat to myself.  Darn full of hormones but am going to cut beef to twice a week, at least as a start, and venturing to the hoity toity stores to get some grass fed organic from now on.

Quiche - I have been looking up ways for using the Chia.  I see a nice blueberry no sugar jam out there.  I have about 4 cups of raspberries in the freezer, so this week I am going to try a no sugar, chia jam, with maybe a little stevia, little lime juice.  Benefit of this would be no cook recipe where there is no heat to destroy the antioxidants in the berries.  I was always bummed that I was destroying the antioxidants making traditional jam.
