    Hi Ladies,

I was cancer free from 2006 - 10/10 but now I'm back fighting the beast again.  I plan on having a full recovery after surgery next week so I will be joining all of you again at that time.

    Take care,

    Nancy

First time: 22 years, 10 months, 27 days (Woo Hoo)

time since reoccurence (oh s**t): 7 months 28 days.

Lesson I learned--to remain diligent in watching my health, I really had thought I would never deal with BC ever again after so long.

I am a long term survivor, in April would be 18 years, had 2 biopsies in the past, both negative .

A month ago I had Months surgery for basal cell carcinoma in my face, not related to B.C.

Jo-5   28 years ago they seldom did lumpectomies as they were new on the scene. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction. The cancer was 9mm and medium growing (same as the current one) 17 nodes were taken. All were clear.

    There was no follow up---

Dreaming - I also had the Mohs surgery (on my nose) the PS did a pretty good job pulling the skin from my cheek to fill in the large crater formed when the cancer was taken out. Have a scar running down my nose, but since I have a lot of wrinkles anyway - it doesn't stand out that much. I have a lot of basal cell cancers due to teenage years when we all lived on the beach and slathered on baby oil!!!

     Little did we know!

PS  I was also told the skin cancers were not connected to breast cancer.

    Hi

I have just had a second mastectomy about 9 weeks ago and the first one was last sept. 2010 all looks good.  I was wondering though what tests need to be done when you have had a second mastectomy and that's it.

I count end of treatment but doc counts date of diagnosis so going by his count I am three years and 4 months out.  Going by my count I will be three years out on May 20th!
