Not much to say today. My Miss Puss died today so I'm a bit low. I knew it was coming as she went into heart failure the night before I had my knee replaced so I guess she was living on borrowed time and it ran out today. I'm going to miss her and the fur she left everywhere.........there won't be much cleaning needed now.

Hope all had a good day.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

    Morning all,

That makes me sad Chrissy. Our pets are so much part of our families. I was just watching my two trying to find some sun then Gus came for a rub.

Saw my onc yesterday. Have to have ultrasound on chest as he found a 'something' on my collarbone. He doesn't think its anything but feels its a bit strange. It will take ages to get the ultrasound because its through the hospital  but if it looks as if it will be too long I will ring my BS.  I am hoping it will be like Trisha just tissue which you can feel because I have lost weight. And I do have lots of adhesions which were caused by radiation.

DS arrive back yesterday and now its flat hunting and wedding planning for them.

    Have a good day.

    Big hugs.

Sounds like you ladies had a lovely get together in Brissy :)

I don't post often but I do read quite frequently. We are having a terrible time with our youngest daughter (26)....she is not coping at all & it's heart breaking to watch :(

Chrissy...your sewing area looks terrific. A quick question....I know you went overseas last year - I followed your travel thread - what did you do about travel insurance? We are leaving on our Europe trip in 2 & a half weeks & have found that cancer is not covered even as a pre-existing condition....I know there is a 99% chance nothing cancer related will happen so did you just not worry about that aspect of it? I'm thinking we just take out the insurance & hope that nothing cancer related happens......

Alyson...fingers crossed all turns out well with your 'something' on your collarbone x

I tried to have a look at the pic that Jenn posted but it would't let me....is that because I'm not a member of your Facebook group?

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Hi Kazzie - I just took out 1Cover last year when we went OS - no cancer related thing happened and it's not likely to. There is one insurance co that does cover pre existing but it's very expensive - that is Covermore

If you are all OK with it I am happy for someone to put the photo directly on here. I just can't do that from my iPad and I very rarely open my computer at home...

Chrissy, I'm so sorry to hear about puss, they are like family to us and it always huts when we lose them - if you did't see the rainbow brigde poem, it's a few pages back, it's very comforting xoxo

Aly, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that yours turns out like mine, there is that small downside when you lose weight and can feel so much more lol

I'm sitting in a lovely room in the Sheraton at Darling Harbour at the moment, very nice - lucky work is paying for it though!!

My fingers are crossed too Aly, praying its nothing. Oddly Im seeing my onc on Friday and intend to have her inspect my collarbone as I have a prominent area - feels like just the bone to me, but its standing out way more than the otherside. Could even see it on the photo from our get together. Hopefully its nothing for both of us.

lmao, I tend to become a bit of a hyperchondriac nowadays  as I head into the anniversary BC checks- classic really as I grew up with a hyperchondriac dad and have always guarded against those tendencies, I guess its only hyperchondria until something is found haha.

Trish so jealous of your stay at Darling Harbour, hope you enjoy yourself while your doing the work.

Kazzie, your more than welcome to join our fb group if you want, just pm one of us and we will add you to the group. Its a private group so you can safely post there without fear of the posts being on peoples timelines.

Hope everyone I havent mentioned are doing well.

Lynda and Alyson, good luck with your appointments.

Chrissy, I can tell by your post that you are low. I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like your cat lived a long life and would have lived well with you.

Trish, enjoy your trip to the big smoke :-).

Thanks for letting us know mods, I had missed that announcement and look forward to you guys saving money in cloud land (whatever that means). If I googled correctly the downtime is in 5 hours from now and we should be up and running again by the time I get back from work (I have mentioned how much I hate late night shopping lol).

Wow Jenn, he finishes school early. I think our grade 12's finish sometime late October up here in Qld, might even be November.

Hope he can have a nice holiday before he starts work/further studying. I always think the kids have to work so hard they deserve a break at the end of grade 12.

Have a wonderful night - bet at some stage you see the 5/6 year old boy you sent off for his first day at school and get a tad nostalgic though, I know I did when my nieces finished a few years back.

    Hi all.

Have posted this on another thread but thought I would share it here

This morning I received an appointment for an ultrasound of my left breast??? I have a 'something' on my collar bone and onc wants to see what it is so ordered an ultrasound of left chest area. Luckily I was in a good mood, which was surprising after the email I had received from a publisher I have worked for but thats another story, so the appointments lady and I had a laugh when I said they could have problems doing an ultrasound on my left breast cause I wasn't sure where extactly it was now!!!!

Still working out what to say to this person who doesn't even realise that this email came to me. Fun plotting revenge which I probably won't even do anyway.

Must get some things done as the rest of the morning was taken up with looking at wedding venues.

    Have a great day.

Hope everyone is ok - I'm home and buggered lol.  Very busy couple of days - and now DH has gone off to Adelaide for the weekend for a "Clogging" conference - no nothing to do with clogs, it's a form of tap dancing.  So I'm home alone lol

Aly - hope it is your chest and not breast they want to u/s lol - bit hard to do your breast!

Linda - I have the same thing on my chest - one bone seems to sit up higher than the other - on my sternum ?? I think it is??  I did wonder about it and the onc looked at it ages ago - he said it's just where they come together (the bones) and one just sits higher than the other - a lot of people have it, but having a breast removed has made it much more noticable.  Hope yours is the same :-)

Chrissy - hope you are feeling much better now?

Well I have about a million images to process from the past couple of days so probably should get to it.

Lol Trish, that could be dangerous after seeing the at film, home alone with that litle kid and he lived it up in total luxury lol, so live it up girl, your home alone. lol. you will be too stuffed to much i guess. you can always stay in bed all day.

Alyson, i really hope it is nothing and they find its just a harmless cyst or something not too bad.  are you a Jessica fletcher Aly, book writer and detective, solve mystries. i love watching her programmes and sees how she really annoys the cops by being one ahead on them all the time and she has alot of trouble with her publisher. muder she wrote used to be my fav programme, oh yes she a teacher as you are i asm sure you have mentioned. i  watch her on sky at four every day, my time, but hubby always rings me right in the middle of it, and i have to turn it down, we have my sky and i have not worked out how to rewind it yet, you can pause live tv and rewind it back to see the part again which is good.

Chrissy, i do hope you feel better and that nasty headache is gone.

       Take care girls.

Midnight, I am an historian and so what I write is probably boring for most. So far just school stuff. Would love to write more just have to get motivated as at times history is really stranger and funnier than fiction. There are such wonderful stories out there about people and social situations in the past. Sometimes I wonder why stories have to be invented at all.

Back from my onc appointment. I do love how mum and I turn a trip that is a drag into fun by popping in for lunch and a flutter at the Bronco's Leagues Club. Turns something that is never fun into a great day Smile

Only saw a new registrar, but thats okay as my onc has no people skills whatsoever and always makes me feel like Im taking up her valuable time. Bone density came back as identical to the one a year ago which means NO ZOMETA which makes me a very happy little camper. Im still in the osteopenia stge and not osteoporosis so I guess thats good. Need to get cholesterol from 5.7 to under 5.5 and they arent happy with my vit D so I have to start taking 2 D's a day on top of all the rest, but what the heck - another few pills doesnt make much difference each day lol

He didnt show any interest whatsoever in my back pain and said my collar bone jutting out like that was normal. I googled extensively last night and saw that many people do have it and that its not problematic, but will run it past my BS when I see him in November after the usual annual mammo and us's.

To summarise I had a great day with my mum and am in the clear till November when I get my next batch of tests and best of all no ZOMETA yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hi Alyson, sorry to hear about the ultrasound you are needing but I did have a good chuckle about the whereabouts of the left boob. Best wishes for a clear scan, my sternum/rib cage is a little prominent left side so I am sure with a MX it would present unusually as well.

Lyndal - what is your Vit D level - mine came back as 92 - I was very pleased. I take 1 1000iu D3 a day and 1 Caltrate which has 4000iu in it, so the GP said to keep doing that.

I cant remember, he just said it was low and I didnt specifically ask as I was concentrating on the cholesterol (doh)

I'll ask the BS when I see him in November

Lyndal - get some sun :) I know you can't do that while you're working, but I always sit outside at lunchtime. The GP said 50 was the lowest of the range that was OK. Can't remember the top of the range. My blood sugar is a bit high, he gave me a lecture about eating white bread - well I hate brown bread and brown rice and brown pasta, so I'll keep doing what I am but maybe cut down on chocolate :)

Linda, that happen to me too, saw a registra and i wanted to tell him about my rib and back pain and i got the same response, showed no interest, was only interested in the breast and if there were no more lumps, did not have one in first place,, they found mine thru the mamo and it was quite small, grade 3 and they said, if it had got to a lump, they would not like to be treating me as the prognosis would be very un favorable. i was a little taken back actually that i thought rib pain they may  want to check, oh well what ever.  as it was a high grade.  well never mind, i was slightly peeved at the time. but got over it and thought i hope that in a year they won't find any problems mets in my bones. Oh sorry we stuffed up here and now you have bone mets. i know we can become a little suspious of things after  BC and i try not to get paranoid. anyway have a good  night

Aly, i like the history channel too, you would find alot of good history to write about, very interesting.

    Hi all

I just got my appointment for the Plastic Surgeon on 8 October, I've decided to have an implant so I really just have to see when I can get the surgery. I'm going through a public hospital so it could take a while. I also need to find out how long I will need off work etc.

I also got my appointment at the Breast Centre for my 6 months checkup on 30 October. I can't believe that it's been 6 months since my surgery, it's gone so fast.

Alyson I've done part of my Dad's family tree, it was very interesting, I need to get back into it and learn some more. I really enjoyed it and I have an interest in History, especially ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece etc.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
