What is it with people? How is it they just don't get it that their bad decisions and their actions have consequences?

We have had a couple like this as attendant carers for Colin, so not the right job for someone like this. I used to go ballistic when I found he had been left in bed with no contact, no food or water because these losers failed to show. I caught one on the way in the next day and fronted her asking if she thought he was just kidding and could really get himself up for work if she didn't turn up?  She had no answer! I was furious! She had done it before so needless to say, she wasn't given another chance.

To have given you all that worry, and to cost your company both money and rep is unforgiveable. Especially at this time of year when you are relied upon to get everything there on time. I hope you can unload this one because you'd never be able to trust him again would you? I would have to lay it all out to him, exactly what happened, and what it cost you because of his actions.  I hope it hasn't impacted on your company.

We should have had a cool change last night, but it didn't come. It is 8.30am and it is already 31c. I was hoping for a cool day today. We celebrate tonight, being Scots, and it was my Mother's Birthday on Christmas Eve so it's always been a special night for us.

Hi there, I live in Victor Harbor in SA,  and I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in December 2006. I had 6 rounds of chemo before MRM and 6 rounds of chemo after MRM plus radation. Arimidex daily has kept me NED until May 2012 when it was discovered that I had mets to my femur and skull and changed medication to Aromisin daily. Pleural effusion in November 2012 and scans and MRI showed brain mets, lung mets and also liver mets. Regime has changed to Xeloda 4 tablets morning and 4 tablets evening for 14 days with 7 days off. First round showed no response, and I am now on second round with next onc appointment on 8 January. I am keen to make contact with some Aussies to keep me sane. Thankfully the weather here has changed and the weather is very pleasant today.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.

    Cheers

    Mandy

Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Hi Mandy and welcome! I'm in Burra so only a few hour between us........maybe when I'm in Adelaide sometime we could catch up if you are up to it. I'm a stage IV also with mets to bone........I guess I've been lucky as since they were dx'd I've had Arimidex for fifteen months and then Femara which I'm still taking and has kept me stable for two years.

These boards are really great for information, support and friendship so don't be shy about hanging out with us.

Wishing all a lovely Christmas! Thank goodness it's cooled down a bit!.........lol

Hello everyone! I hope you are all ready for Christmas. Our weather has just changed with a huge storm over the lake in front of us. It is muggy, but I expect it will cool right down soon.

I had a call from my Surgeon today asking how I was doing and what the output of my drain was. It was under 50ml yesterday so he said it should come out today. He spoke with the District Nurses and two of them came out to remove it for me. Not the most pleasant experience so far, but far from unbearable. The poor woman almost had to lever herself against the bed to get it out. So glad it wasn't in for another day!

    Take care everyone!

mandy welcome i too am ibc trip neg and are also on xeloda with navelbine.

Welcome Mandy, yes this bc is just crap. You've been through so much, and now more. We are all here to support you ((((hugs))))

Our power came back on about 3 hours after it went out last night, which was good. But you wouldn't believe it, we had another storm come through about an hour ago and the power's gone again!! This time the lightning strike was only a few hundred metres away so think its one of our power poles that's gone ... sigh ...

So back to boiling water on the stove and listening to the birds sing lol at least the dogs have now climbed off me and have stopped quivering.

    Love to you all

    Trish

Hi to everyone that replied and also thank you for your kind wishes. I look forward to keeping in touch and communicating once I get my head around this computer. Your messages brought tears to my eyes. We all have something in common and it will be nice to share information and ideas with you all.

Chrissyb, I go to Lewiston almost every week (near Two Wells, and Gawler) so if you even travel in that direction, maybe we can catch up and have a coffee?

Once again, wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. xoxox

    Cheers

Merry Christmas every one. We have had a wonderful evening and now feeling very satisfied. Both DD's are singing tonight at the  cathedral so will be off there soon.

Have had a busy week. It is now 6 years since dx and this week my lovely young neighbour lost her mother to  BC - it hit me hard.

Special Christmas hugs for Mandy and Liv, this is a great group which is why some of us Kiwis like coming here.

DAMMM hot today, and i am in nz, hate to think what you got over there in temps. have a meery xmas to  everybody

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas from Melbourne! Thankfully perfect weather here (22 degrees) after a scorcher a couple of days ago.

Turkey cooking..as usual I'm now worried that I've put it on too late....lol..have one son cleaning windows and another peeling potatoes while mum is on computer..haha...a well earned break as I'm sure you'll all identify with.

Just wanted to call in and wish everyone a wonderful day.

    Love to all

Ive finished cleaning the part of the house mum will see Embarassed lunch is nearly ready and Im looking forward to a good meal, fine company and then doing absolutely nothing the rest of the day. Perfect weather here cause Ive parked the dining table near the air conditioner and it will be a cool 23 degrees for the day. Outside, well thats a different story, looks to be a scorcher.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you are all with someone you love (or at least like Laughing) and having a wonderful day.

    Merry christmas everyone!

We had our celebration dinner last night, just the three of us. It was lovely.

I am so tired today, really sore under my arm. District Nurse says I probably did too much yesterday preparing the food. We have had a few visitors call in this morning to see how I am doing. It has cooled down, so I am spending the day on the couch.

Wishing everyone a lovely safe holiday!

I am going to cook pork for xmas tea, but we will have tea about 8, so i wont yet til about 4.30pm even 5, its only a small shoulder roast, which i will do in small bench oven. and i have new baby spuds and veges, were going to have a prawn sea food cocktail, but sillly me forgot the the seafood dressing. typical, have tomorrow, and i may get a decent lettuce, we are going to have pav, but there was no cream left anywhere, even the garage today, we brought dairy whip, that'll have to do. the garage reckons they sold a hundred bags of ice. its very tropical. i reckon they should cater for more cream in this seasonthey should not run out and people should not be greedy and takes heaps. i saw that last night, with the cooked chickens, they had some down to 4.50 and this guy took four and  this other lady wanted one and i had two, but i gave one to her as that was the end of them. the other guy would  not give her one. she was so happy she got one, i thought she was  going kiss me lol.  but she gave me a hug instead. anyway going to go and clean up again, messy animals, cats, they  are little pigs when they eat. leave it on the floor and draws the flies, grrr anyway catch ya.
