Trish the op is on Saturday 31st this month so only just over two weeks a way.......getting close!  You are right, I think she is telling me it's almost time.......notice I'm still saying almost, there seems to be a bit of reluctance still.

Yes, I too love this time of year with all the Autumn colour, cold nights and cool crisp sunny days......it's just the best!

    Love n hugs all!   Chrissy

Chrissy - did you ever try an injection of synovial fluid in your knee joint? It's called SynviscOne - I had it done today (didn't hurt) - supposed to give 6 months relief. My right knee deteriorated lately, so we're trying this to try and hold off on surgery.

    hi girls

Tammy, so sorry to hear of your friend.....f#####g cancer.

Chrissy, so sad to hear of your poor pussy cat. 23 years, wow that's a good innings. All the best with op, the worst part is doing nothing afterwards although I'm sure you'll manage to keep busy in some way!

Thankyou so much to all you lovely ladies for your good wishes. I am now home but still feeling quite run down & my temp is very up & down. It's good to be home though even if I can't do anything. I have a wonderful support/care team in my family so things aren't that bad. And of course the joy from my beautiful grandson. It breaks my heart to think I won't get to see him grow up but god I love him!

Take care lovely ladies. Luv n hugs.

Sue it's not even been suggested as a lot of the problem is from the patella not just the knee joint itself.  The patella has a groove worn in it that you can lay your finger in........the joint is bone on bone and I'm so over listening to it grind with every step I take.

Karen I will make sure that I have my computer and crocheting close at hand and between the two I will sure be able to keep the hands busy enough that they will also engage the mind.........lol.

So good to hear that you are home although still minus the energy we all crave.  I'm sure you are spending as mush time as possible with you GS and I'm positive he will know you and how much you love him just by being able to go through the pics that get taken of the two of you..........I know that is no compensation for being there as he grows but it is better than nothing.

We so love hearing from you so when you can we look forward to hearing from you.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Sue I know we were talking about your knees last time when I had the first one done........quite honestly I don't know why you just don't do it.   I know it's painful and an op that takes a long time to get over but you are not off your feet for that long really in the whole scheme of things and the benefits are too many to count........I don't regret doing the first and even though I know whats coming, I'm still willing to go through it to reap the benefits after.    I'm not brave nor am I to be admired this is just something that my mind says is a good thing for me to do and being pain free is always a really good thing.

Chrissy - my doctor still thinks I'm too young and it's worth trying other options - there is a surgery called High Tibial Osteotomy which can give you 10 more years before needing knee replacement - costs a lot less than the replacement and I don't like the thought of it although somewhat better than a replacement. The good news is if I do need a replacement looks like I can get away with a half knee which is much nicer than full. There seems to be plenty of cartilage on the outside of the knee.

hi Girls, i went to the three month check up with  rads onco, they decided that the tamoxifen will be ok to give me again, so am back on it. Also went to diatician re diabetes, they are more concerned with  the fact i do not eat at reg intervals.  reg times and earlier at  night, not late, as i wait for hubby. so have things to work  on and combination of foods as you say Chrissy and Trish. any way better go. catch  up later.

hi girls good luck with your op Chrissy I know his you feel I can be a control freak as well. Just a quick question I amgoing back   to New York with my family next year last time I went via Dubai this time thinking of going to San Francisco for a few days first has anyone been there and can recommend a nice central place to stay ?

Delvzy I didn't get to San Fran when I went so not much help on your question but I hope you have a great time!  Thanks for your well wishes they are much appreciated.

Sue great that you have some cartilage left......wish I did then maybe I wouldn't have needed the replacement quite so soon.  I also figure that if I let it go longer it would mean less time with good knees.........lol.........and I'm greedy, I want as much time with good knees as I can get.   hahahahaha!  How is your DD doing an that gorgeous grandson?  I often think of both of the and hope think are on the up for her.

Annette, as a diabetic eating on a very regular basis is really important and eating well.........the two things in combination help to keep your sugars stable and that's a really good thing.  Hope you can get into the rhythm of it soon and I'm sure you will see and feel a whole lot better.

I took a quick trip over to Clare today, got my nails done and did a quick shop and refilled my larder and fridge.  I felt really naughty tonight as I bought a whole heap of different cheeses and that was dinner tonight.....easy, yummy and who cares about the fat content etc as it tasted sooooooo good!........lol........more importantly, I only do it once in a blue moon.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Chrissy - Nicholas is gorgeous - we went down for his 2nd birthday. He learnt to say Grandad the week before we went, so now we're gone he keeps saying Nana Grandad and wants to Skpe - there is a new addition to the family coming in early December. They bought their own place in Hove - too small for 2 kids unfortunately. Her DH is going well on his new meds.

So far so good with the injection ie no pain from the treatment - it will take a couple of weeks to see if it worked.

Sue so good to hear that they are doing well and congrats on the new grandie!!!!   How cute that Nicholas learnt to say Grandad........I bet that tickled Steve no end!.........lol.  Next time you are down give me a yell and I'll meet you for a coffee or something.

That the injection seems to be doing something good for your knee.......hope it continues.

Chrissy - too soon to know if it has worked - just pleased there is no pain form being injected. While we were there Nicholas would not leave Grandad's sight - he absolutely loves him, but he's not too keen on Nana because I try to take his dummy away. I don't mind because Steve needs the adoration. Tonight we were skyping and he kept calling out Grandad until Steve came downstairs. He blows me kisses etc, but Grandad is THE one.

Sue that is just so cute!   It's lovely when the little ones tag along and seem to have their favourite grand........lol.  I'll bet Steve loved the adoration.....there is nothing like it!

Karen, what a lovely surprise to see you on here. So happy you are spending precious time with your DGS, enjoy all the time you have with him. (((hugs)))

Annette - yes you will have a lot to learn from the dietitian - hopefully following their recommendations will have you feeling better.

Sue - congrats on the coming new addition - hope your knee is feeling much better soon.

I've been having problems with my shoulder lately (it never seems to end does it!!) and went to my chiro yesterday - it's the rotor cuff, and already with what he did yesterday and the exercises he gave me, it's feeling much better.

    Another beautiful day in Canberra!

    Have a good one girls

    Trish

Good Morning everyone! Beautiful Autumn morning here, sunny and chilly! I just love the change in the light we get with Autumn. I have been playing around taking panorama shots. Colin has a computer program that stitches the pics together, it is amazing. I am sure Trish knows about it, but to me it is just gobsmacking!LOL

I will try to get Colin to post the picture I took from my bed yesterday, it is such a great program.

I hope everyone is enjoying reasonable weather before the Winter sets in, take it easy! M x

Hi Ariom - yes those programs are pretty amazing aren't they! I have some "pro" programs that do some awesome stuff too, mind you I don't do a lot of panoramas - not a big call for those in portrait photography lol. But if you want me to make you look 20 to 30 years younger ... well I can do that without working up a sweat lol

Oh my Trish! I may have to make a trip to Canberra for a youthful photo! LOL

I am just blown away by the things that have been designed and developed in Technology in recent years. I was talking with a girlfriend last night about how when my Mother was Dx with BC, the only way I could get any information was from the library or word of mouth. That was in '94, not really so long ago, but computers and the internet in the home wasn't the norm then. Now there is just so much out there.

I am absolutely fascinated by the stitching of this panorama program, I will try to post it. M

Hi Trish, Thank you! If I ever come to Canberra, I would love to meet up with you!

The view was the main reason for buying this house, but after the renovations, the house is now my favorite house, ever. We have that view across the master bedroom, lounge room and the family room. It changes constantly and each room has a slightly different perspective. There is an Island to the left and an Arm with a boat ramp to the right, with just the Dunes in the distance separating us from the 90 mile beach.  It is amazing when the yachts are out racing, or when a storm comes in from Bass Straight.

In the Winter, we can wake up to about 60+ Pelicans right outside, it is really a magic place. I am grateful every day for finding it.

Wow Ariom!!!  Now that's a view worth waking up for.......amazing!!!   I can see why you would never get sick of it.

What is the name of the program you DH is using to do the panoramic shot Ariom?  Hope you don't mind me asking but I'm so wanting to learn to edited better.  Trish, do you know of a good editing program, one more for landscapes and such like?

I have been using Paintshop Pro which is not bad but..........

Looking forward to a very relaxing weekend filling up an external hard drive with programs for my SIL.  I have so many series and movies.......lol.

    Have a god one all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Hi Chrissy, Thank you! I will never tire of it. I can't believe I have taken to the country as well as I have. I hadn't lived more than about 10km from the CBD all my adult life!

The name of the program is MS ICE and it is free. It stitches the pictures that you take in sequence, you overlap them and the program recognises the overlap and stitches it together. It takes no time at all. Colin uses Irfanview as a photo editing and viewing program that is also free, from Irfan.com. I am sure Trish can explain it much better than I can, I am not one to do any of this on the computer, but i take the shots and Colin plays around with them.

I want to take the camera out one morning on the Kayak and try to get the sunrise over the Island, in about 6 shots. If I manage to get it I will post it.   M x

Edited to add: I didn't explain the overlap well, but you take the shot and then make sure you have an overlapping picture with a point of reference for the program to recognise.

Wow Ariom what a view, just beautiful.

I got my results from my ct scan. I have a 3.5cm cyst on my ovary. I had told the onc I was having bad ovary pain and he said your ovaries are turned off from zolzdex shots mmmm. I will probably have to wait a couple of weeks for and ultrasound. Not sure what to think.
