Hi allMidnight yes I did go to my Dad's farm which is about an hours drive from Perth, I hadn't been there for ages but we all had a good day there. Your memories as bad as mine lol.
Tomorrow my 13 year old niece is coming from Queensland for a holiday by herself as Dad has paid her airfare so it will be nice to see her. Mum with her dementia is not really able to travel now so Dad decided to do this so that he could at least see 1 of his grandkids, he will be flying the other 2 over later as well.

Aly - I'm so sorry to hear your news. (((hugs ))) to you. Take some time for yourself xoxo
You'll all be happy to know I've quit smoking! Yay! It was my crutch through treatment and all the uncertainties and crap afterwards. I've decided enough is enough and I don't need them any more
Trish

Congratulations on giving up smoking Trisha-Anne. I can understand how you needed a crutch during the aftermath of all the treatment. Mine at the moment is the occasional glass of red wine and chocolate which I know I need to eventually give up.

Congratulations Trish, well done! It isn't easy, but you'll appreciate it, soon enough. I gave up 8 years ago and have never looked back!

Congrats Trish!!! A major step forward and one you will never regret.........yes, I too am a reformed smoker......lol.....six years and counting. It's amazing how good you will feel in a very short time.

Thanks girls - it's not bloody easy though grrr... What I wouldn't give for one right now. Instead I'll go have a big glass of water, then a cuppa and some chocolate

The answer is chocolate no matter what the question is! We need some pleasure in this life.
Well done Trish I am pleased you have cast aside the horrible habit. I say that because my father died of lung cancer but my mother lived until 93. I remember well when both parents gave up at the same time.
Hope every one is having a good week.

Trish, great news!! As Aly said, chocolate is the answer

Well done TRISH, i used to as well smoke, and then one day i just spit the dummy as you have the saying in Ausy and then we had a smoke one day,not too long ago last year, we were having a stink day, and you know what, i felt so sick, dizzy, felt terrible, wanted to throw up, that i thought no, i can't feel like this over a smoke, so it was a no deal. AND GOOD JOB. lol i cant have chocky, but i do love avacado and marmite on toast, it is so yum and me old cuppa tea. lol.

Well done Trish!!! I've cut down to 3 cigs a day and am using ecigs. I've decided not to stop all together because I can - don't see how 3 can hurt and I don't feel like I'm being deprived. Way better than 40 a day. Saving heaps of money too. Can't believe I've stuck to it this long - had to stop for my knee replacement.

Annette, good on you for giving up smoking! Avo on toast is yummy and I like it with feta.
Suzie, good work to cut down. I've never smoked but I do like a glass of wine.... or three. I did manage to cut down to 3 a week but I've regressed somewhat. We have to balance things and it seems you've reached a good point.
I'm now starting my final month of run training for the Mothers Day Classic to raise funds for breast cancer research. I've run 4k the last two years but I'm attempting 8k this year. Wish me luck!

Tammy - I've increased my wine consumption

Tammy. good luck on the count down to the Mother's Day Classic! I can barely walk let a lone run.....lol.....so I admire those who can and the dedication needed to train properly.
Sue I thought you would have quit those three cigs by now!......lol. How is the knee doing now?
Carol it seems there are a few of us ex-smokers here!
Take it easy all!

Chrissy - I don't see why I should give up those 3 - it works for me - not even going to try. Knee is good still hurts at night in bed sometimes - the bend I ended up with is as good as the other leg - it actually likes being bent when I'm sleeping. My back is the real problem - seems I have spinal stenosis so I can't walk far without getting pains in the bottom of my feet and down the back of my legs.

Nice coffee Aly!
Sue, yes, my knees are happiest when they are slightly bent in bed also but like you, I still can't walk as far or as easily as I would like. The osteo in my feet really keeps me feeling like I'm walking on glass..........sigh!........I guess that's just part of the price for growing older.......lol.
I'm having a nothing day today, rang No 2 DD for her birthday, did some laundry and am now just fiddling on the ole puter. I should actually get off my keister and make a cup of tea......or not......oh well, I will eventually make up my mind........
Have a great weekend all!

Just got rid of DD and 2 kids after a week or more - having a holiday at our expense. Unfortunately our 3 yr old grandson is a little bugger - I am distressed to say I do not like him. A good smack would fix him. The 5mth old baby was gorgeous and gave me lots of laughs and smiles. Why is it we do everything for our children and they turn to to be so self centred and a pain to deal with - no thanks for having them at all.

Awe Sue.......what a shame you didn't enjoy the visit. Having your DD and grands should be a pleasure........it's not like they live around the corner. Young parents today don't really understand that a little gentle discipline goes a very long way to raising lovely well mannered children. Hopefully the three yr old will improve with age.

Aly, i am so very sorry for your terrible loss, how heartbreaking and you are already going through such a stressful time. Think of you ....(((hugs)))
I went to get my 3 weekly blood test done yesterday as I was not feeling well Friday (hopefully it is just a bit of gastro????), and as usual, it didn't work the first time. She then tried my hand and got about half the required amount only. She said - come again Monday and we will try again. Ok, I said to her, so you can send this half off today for the first lot of tests, and then Monday when you take the second half, you can send the rest off. Duh..... she was going to throw it away and try again Monday to take the whole lot again, so she can send it in one go...... but, I said to her, what happens if you can only get half again, and I start my Chemo on Thursday.......So we agreed to do it my way hehe.
Weather here is warm and dull, no sun, maybe the sun will come out later today. Anyway, it looks like a beautiful day to go for a walk and get some fresh air.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ladies
Warm hugs
Mandy xxxxx

Ouch Mandy! I so hate it when they can't get enough blood first time around. I don't know about you, but I have become extremely phobic about getting bloods done or CT's or anything that needs access to a vein.
Keeping my fingers crossed that she manages to get enough on Monday.
Weather here sounds much the same as down there, warm but a bit overcast. The clouds seem to come and go, so does the sun but at least it's not freezing like it was this time last week!
Take it easy all!

Hello out there..... I hope the week was good!
I've had a hiccup with my running! My left hip problem has flared again. I've been back to the physio and may need to cut back to the 4k Mothers Day run
I'll know by next week. In any case I'm determined to participate as this run is important to me!
0 -
Oh bugga Tammy! That's not good news at all! I sure hope it settles down so you can participate with out too much pain.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Tammy, sorry to hear your hip is playing up again. I hope the physio is able to help you. Don't forget you can do the walk instead of the run if you are up to it We'll be photographing the Canberra event again this year. It's a lot of fun.
Sorry I've been out of touch a bit recently, have had a couple of days in Sydney late last week for work, and hibernated over the weekend. Cold, wet and windy weather - perfect for snuggling up on the lounge and reading a good book
Chrissy - when is your trip to France? Are you going to be here for Melbourne in November? It suddenly occurred to me that your France trip might overlap with Melbourne, but I wasn't sure.

Trish .we leave for France on the 15th September and get back 28th October so there is a couple of weeks between. I must start looking at accommodation for us and start working on numbers as I won't have much time to get 'er done when we get back. That is of course unless someone from Melbourne wants to put their hand up to organize?
What was the date we decided on? Was it the 14th or the 21st?
My knee is very sore to touch as the bruising is deep but otherwise it's working just fine.
Have a great day all!

getting excited!! seeing my surgeon in two days to discuss exchange!! Don't know if it will be classified as semi urgent or non urgent. Its usually two or three months between the last fill and exchange surgery.
Even though this operation will be larger than the previous one, I'm still happy i will have one full boob and a bit of a boob with expander on the left with back skin over it so it will be close to normal...will update you all after thursday.
