I'm laughing Chrissy - sorry I'd rather go to NZ for a holiday - haven't been to Melbourne for about 30 years. I really don't have enough leave to plan any sort of holiday at the moment even though it would be great to see you all.

Hello Girls!
I saw the onc on Friday and he's agreed for me to go on half a Femara for the next four months. I don't know if he just didn't know what to say to me, or if he thinks it's a good idea lol. I told him about the Femara thread on here, and how another lady was on half a tablet, and even printed off the information from the Novaris site for him that says that a full dose may not be needed.
He calls me his problem girl I can't believe that he doesn't have lots of ladies who are struggling with different ses like I am - maybe I've just finally gotten him to listen to me. So - will stay on half a tablet for as long as I can and see him again in four months.
Trish

I hope the 1/2 treats you more kindly Trish :-)
I finished and submitted my last assignment for my last subject for my Bachelor of Science today! There's no final exam for the subject I have been doing so that's it - I'm completely done after NINE (9) years of part-time study with full-time work. I am so looking forward to being able to do what I want in the evenings and weekends now without having to feel guilty that I should be studying more.

Yay Trish! I sure hope you feel better on the half dose so I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the next four months go by easily.
Congrats Jenn! I have a feeling that for a little while you will fell at a loss because of all the leisure time open to you now. Finishing a degree while working full time is no easy feat to once again, congratulations

Jenn, I am sooo... proud of your achievement! It would not be easy with a demanding job, all your caring responsibilities plus all the cancer stuff you have been through.
Start enjoying all that spare time . xxxxx

Thanks guys. Had the day off work today - to go to a work assessment meeting for Rachael and my 3-monthly visit to the oncologist and infusion room for the clinical trial I am still on. I really am over having to go there so often and this trial goes for another 2 years and then if they decide the drug does actually reduce recurrences I can take it for another 5 years I gather...
Hubby bought me an amazing new laptop that he gave me yesterday to finish my last assignment on and I am having fun setting it up and playing with it. Back to work tomorrow though and it's very busy being end of financial year coming up.
Tony, Rach and I are off to NZ for a long weekend next week (6-8 June), then I'm off to Washington DC in the US at the end of June for a week for work. Then Tony and I are off with our best friends (4 of us) to Hawaii to cruise at the end of July. So it's all VERY busy for the next few months. No time to wonder what to do with myself ;-)
Hoping I can catch up with you all a bit more often now too! regards Jenn

Enjoy all that travel Jenn!
Still just doing the crochet blanket for my guest bed. I'm amazed at just how fast the darn thing is growing!! It must mean I've been working hard.........lol........yeah right.

Morning. Nice to sleep in my own bed after three days at a meeting. I am on a national church committee to choose people for ministry. It is an extremely challenging time as we are dealing with people's lives and their beliefs Saying no is very difficult.
I will taking my time this morning but have to check on MiL this morning. She is going down very quickly. Las night we found her sitting shivering as she was cold. She just growled and she burst into tears but once I started tearing her as a child and got a cardigan on her things improved. We can't get her to ring for help. I was really upset when we left. Dh is not coping well and said he just can't do what I do with her. Though last night when she said she just wanted to die he told her lovingly that she could go anytime as he knew how tired she is.
Sorry to go on.
Must get my breakfast.
Big hugs

Oh Aly, that is so sad. Don't the staff regularly check on the people who have dementia? It seems to me that that would be a priority......yes I know they have things to do but looking after the welfare of their in patients is supposedly top of the list. It's just so hard for both you and Cunny to have to watch and deal. (((((Hugs)))))).
Lucy this is the blanket.
It is for a double bed but it's on my king size so I think it will have plenty of overhang. Not sure what edge I will do yet, I'll have to think on it.
Enjoy your day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi allI'd love to come to Melbourne but it's to close to Christmas, I probably won't be able to get holidays then.
Jenn congratulations on your degree finally being over with and enjoy your travels.
The last few years I've been getting arthritis in my fingers and with this cold weather it's been really sore lately. Two of my fingers are quite bad, I might have to go the the GP and see what I can do about it.

Carol we meet up on the Friday and are all home by Sunday night. Just thought that you may be able to get the weekend off as it would be so lovely to see you.
Thank Lucy, I really enjoy crochet and have made so many blankets and throws over the years I'm happy to do them for anyone who wants all I ask is that they supply or pay the cost of the wool.
Just got back from the city and catching up with our niece.......what a fabulous day!!! I haven't seen her for six years so we had a great time catching up on what's been going on. Very tired now so I will be finishing my cup of tea and then hitting the hay.........I may even sleep in tomorrow.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi Girls, sorry have not been in here for abit as our computer crashed, we were going to get a second hand one, but Bil gave us 600 and we brought a brand new one, lap top. but Ron had to buy a regular mouse as I could not keep up with the new type, too fast and I was thinking of asking the darn cat to help me keep up with the mouse. now I have the slower one, I am keeping up with it, The screen on old computer went and then the pc groaned and that was that, no more.
My step mum is in her last days, she in a rest home in Tauranga, she not eating or taking pills or communicating, she opened her eyes and looked at Shirley her daughter and smiled, so she knows Shirley is there. Shirley said, her breathing is quite laboured and one of the grandkids from Auckland going to see her, so she was hoping she would last, they can go on like that for up to three weeks, its been a week, Monday she went down. she 93. so a good age, had 14 years further than my dad, he died 2001 of pancreatic cancer and it was this time of year, queens birthday weekend, he died weekend after. on the 12th. so ironic that it is almost same time of year. Any way its cold here and I have to go out soon. so will love and leave you for now. cheers lovely ladies
p/s today is Bil last day with truck, he is retiring and not renewing the contract, but a couple of the people he delivers to has asked would we be interested in doing bulk loads around country like when thy need it, all expenses paid which is about two weekly kind of thing, which will boost the money abit. we wont have income, only off the farm and they want to get that cleaned up ready to sell. so we can get the hell out of this dump. its ok here, but I want to live in Tauranga or around there, by the sea. YEP I DO.

Hi Annette! Long time no see but good to hear you are doing okay. So sad when it comes time to say goodbye to aged family so thinking of you right now. Yay! For the new Lap Top!! Nothing like new technology and having the fun playing with it to learn its quirks. Look forward to hearing more from you. Hoping the clean up and sale of the farm goes to plan for you, keeping my fingers crossed.
Woohoo Mel!!!! Fantastic news on your surgery date!! So exciting for you to be getting those bumps looking a bit more like boobs again. Would love to see some pics when you are done if you want to share.
Just about to head back down to the city.......eldest daughter needs loads of love and support at the moment as she seems to be diving head long into a breakdown. I'm hoping she and I can have some heart to hearts and I can convince her to accept some help. Wish me luck as she is just so stubborn at times and I will have my work cut out.
Catch you all later!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hello Annette! Sorry about your step Mum but lovely that she smiled at Shirley. I hope you get to Tauranga, I went there last year and it seems like a love spot.
Mel, fantastic news! That time will fly!
Chrissy, good luck with eldest daughter. I'm sure just knowing that you're there even if she is reluctant to accept help will be a comfort (((hugs))) to you both

Hi Girls, my step mum died last night at 10.30 very peacefully, Shirley got to hold her as she passed from this life to next, Shirley said she was struggling to breath yesterday but all the family were surrounding her yesterday and Shirley went in last night again to be with her and she slipped away.
This is Jean Bradley, my step mum. she always was very immaculate with clothing and been done up well, this is when she turned 90, she turned 93 last Dec.0 -
Oh Annette, so sorry to hear that your step mum passed........condolences. It's good that Shirley got to hold her as she passed and the rest of her family was there as well, just a shame that you couldn't be there yourself. It's always sad when someone leaves this earth even though they have reached a good age.
I will be here with DD for a while. She has accepted the fact that she needs help and is now under the care of a good doc. She is exhausted but insists on going to work. I will let her do that but nothing else, I'm happy to keep the house and cook for them all and I think the boys are happy to have me here as they were so upset and unsure of what to do when the crisis hit. She has taken some convincing but her attitude has begun to change and I really don't think she minds me being here either. Hopefully once her doc decides which meds are going to be the best for her and she gets on them she will begin to feel a lot better and more able to cope with everything.
Take it easy all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Thanks so much Jenn,, Shirley got back to be with her about nine thirty and was going to stay over night so she wasn;t alone, but jean had that final hour so Shirley very happy and very sad, that she was there in time and sad because it was the end. Jean had terrible leg ulcers even when I was young. and its funny as we have have always known her as jean. but her real name is Margaret jean. I have just found that out and that she was a air force officer which is where she met her first husband Lawrence Barker and I guess we may find out more to jean at her funeral. you never know, very interesting lady.
