Annette, it can be amazing what you learn about close relatives at their funerals! The stories of their youthful adventures that should be celebrated.
Delvzy, it sounds like an amazing trip. Post a photo or two when you're better

Hope everyone is doing OK. We had a good weekend in Auckland this past week. Managed to take my Mum out to choose new glasses as she lost hers in the Home somewhere. She was well behaved which was nice. Seemed so much like taking a toddler out... even down to having to make sure the child lock was on the car door.
I'm off in just over a week to the USA for work. Get to fly economy class for 21hrs to get to Washington DC :-/ Still, it will be a new experience as the last time I visited that city I was 6 weeks old, after being born there and then leaving at 6 weeks!
My aches and pains from taking the Femara seem to have mostly resolved, but the price is that they have resolved after I finally visited the doctor a couple of months ago and admitted to having depression bad enough that I had been visioning leaping off our apartment balcony. Am now back on a much more even keel however the weight does seem to be piling on. But I don't care anymore... At least I feel happier and less stressed everyday.

Oh boy Jenn, I sure hope you have a reasonable flight to Washington, 21 hours is a long time!
So glad you are coping with the Femara and are feeling so much better now you are on the anti depressant. Life sure does seem a lot brighter when we aren't looking through a haze.
Still with my DD and I will be for some time to come but that is okay.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Cool bike! Is that the mode of transport you used most of the time?0 -
no Chrissy I rushed around a fair bit and came home jet lagged and tired lol

Ah, the proverbial needing a holiday to get over the holiday syndrome huh?!.....lol.0 -
- just used the bike in Hue which was a bit quieter most of the time we flew or caught buses. Riding a bike (my first time ) in Vietnam was the scariest thing ever!!

Delvzy, beautiful photos. I want to go there hehe. (and now you need a break from your wonderful holiday lol)
Trish, just to let you know that the tea set is used almost daily by GD1. We have toast for breakfast and cups of tea (water) when we get up in the mornign. GD1 (Olivia) loves pouring cups of tea and sharing, and every time we use it, I think of you and the wonderful time that we all had in Sydney. ahhh memories......
Jenn, enjoy your trip to USA, even if it is work related, I am sure that you will be able to do some sightseeing as well. And yes, dont worry about the weight piling on...... as long as you are not in pain and feel fine, so what.
I just wanted to share my good news with you all, as you may know that I have had Lymphoedema in my arm for almost 2 years. Well, it is finally going down. All the conventional methods did not work, so I decided to try my own experiments..... and BIngo!! I wore my lymphoedema sleeve all day every day and also in bed and I only took it off to have a shower. After 10 days, I had my arm measured yesterday at the lymphoedema clinic and broke the record for the biggest reduction ever!! I still have a lot more to lose in that arm, but it feels so much lighter now.
I see my oncologist on Tuesday, and will find out how my tumour markers are going and I will let you know then. Thankfully my liver is back to normal again, so the doctor thinks that it must have been a virus that affected my liver before (phew).
Have a great weekend everyone!
Warm hugs
Mandy xxxxx

Yay Mandy!! That is great news on both fronts!!! Sometimes we just have to do what we think will work for us when it comes to lymphadema. So glad to hear that your liver is back to normal so maybe what ever was affecting it is also driving your markers. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get good new with your latest results on those.
Still in Adelaide and will for for sometime yet.........DD didn't just break her nose, she is on suicide watch so I won't be going anywhere until she is better able to handle the rest of her life. She is under a doctors care and she seems to be getting to the nitty gritty of the cause but it is going to take a long time and a lot of hard work to get her through. In the mean time, I am back to being mum, cooking, cleaning, organising, supervising and being a pair of ears to listen and trying to lift as much stress from her shoulders as possible.
Hope everyone is doing okay.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi girls. we have major flooding today and still dam well raining. we have probably lost alot of animals today, sheep and lambs. the council did not open flood gates, til 5.30 and it came up like that in half hour. that is a paddock and when Ron walked in it in was up to his hips in the shallow. some of the sheep were on the some green, and twin lambs were with their mummy, but the rest we could not see..

Wondered how you got on Annette. Thought about you when I heard where the rain was. Sending big hugs.

The water level has receaded a fair bit. the creek down, looks like there was life at the sheep farm, where we lease, but all the high fences are down, the gate still open. to road as the water still high for them to walk in. he will put another gate there for now. that was for an escape route to get out of flood. water makes one hell of a mess when it comes in a heap. a lot of farmers pissed off about the time they decided to open flood gates. this could of been avoided, some of it, so I think there will be questions to the time lines of their actions as it might not have banked up so high. you cant stop weather, but if there is a means to advert yesterday been like it was, Why was it not done til so late.? anyhow hnope every one is ok, thinking of you all.Chrissy thinking of you and yours. hope it is improoving alot. very worrying. love Annette

Hello girls
Sorry I've been MIA for longer than I realised.
All's well with me though. I'm not working at the moment, my job of almost four years is over (cuts from government funding) so I've taken an early retirement (of sorts lol). I must say that for the past four weeks or so I've been resting, reading and just pottering about and it's been wonderful for me. I'm feeling so much better than I have in a long time.
I'm on half a Femara tablet a day, and so far it's agreeing with me. Still got lots of aches and pains, but headaches and hallucinations haven't been back. I go back to the onc in three months to report on how the half tablet is going.
Still photographing lots of dog shows, and we have a bit of corporate work as well as booking a few weddings just recently, so the photography business is going fairly well.
I'm sorry to hear of some of your troubles though - and forgive me, my memory hasn't magically reappeared lol - Chrissy - hope your DD is ok? Annette - sorry to hear about your step mum xoxo
Delvzy - your trip looked awesome!
Mandy - so happy to hear your news, and I have a smile on my face that the tea set is being used
Love to you all
Trish

Hello again ladies
I did introduce myself a few pages back and since that time I was able to travel to Scotland for a family wedding before heading home again to prepare for surgery. I joined the June surgery thread to share the experience with others going through it at the same time which was helpful.
I am now home recuperating having had a mastectomy, SNB and an immediate lat dorsi reconstruction and tissue expander placement. I still have two drains and I have had a few problems with fluid but otherwise I am recovering well. I was thrilled to learn that it appears there is no node involvement and I hope to get the final pathology results on Thursday.
I have enjoyed getting to know you all a bit by reading through this thread and hope to be able contribute as I walk my journey along side you.
I hope you are all feeling well, and Annette I wish you luck in recovering from that dreadful flood.
Jac🌷

Family are all together tonight having a drink for my MiL who passed this afternoon aged 91. Many complain about their MiL but I certainly can't. She was an educated and independent woman who on her own brought up three children after being widowed young. She was always ready to help and was so proud of her grandchildren who loved her dearly and impressed them with her spirit of adventure. She was ready to go and had for days just wanted to be with Her Lord. We are sad but glad as well.
