Hi girls, still with DD and finding it hard to hold my tongue with her at times but I know it's not really her who is in that place. Her doc finally gave her an anti depressant on Friday so hopefully once her system gets used to them they will help. This is going to be a long slow process and hopefully when we get to the other end she is in a much better frame of mind and better able to cope with life.
Yay Trish! Good to see you! So glad you have been resting and feeling the better for it. Here's hoping the half tab keeps you doing okay. I'm really pleased that your photography is still busy as it means a bit more income for you which is a good thing.
Oh Annette! OMG!!! You poor darling! I'm so glad you didn't lose any animals in those floods AND that you are also okay.
Hi ya Jac! good to hear that you are through the surgery and well and truly on the road to recovery! It's great that you had no nodal involvement and here's hoping that the full path report is all good as well. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Oh Aly! My sincerest condolences at the passing of your MIL. It sounds like she was waiting for her other son to arrive before leaving this realm. Even though you were just waiting, it's still hard when it happens. ((((hugs)))))
Well, time for me to go clean up the tea things or they will end up being there all night........not good.
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi allMel good luck with your surgery.
I got my appointment with my Plastic Surgeon for my nipple reconstruction. It's been a year since my last appointment which they gave me to decide if I want a nipple or not. I'm not having the surgery as I really don't need a nipple.
The hospital actually sent me a letter with a form to fill in if I still wanted my appointment or not as they have had so many referrals for plastic surgeons. That's Public hospitals for you.
Have a great weekend all

hi all day three post op. The bear hugger blanket came off today was just able to keep some of sandwich down for tea.. Two of 4 drains are gone!! Nurses happy with how the flap is looking. Sat out of bed for a while today too. Seeing my surgeon tommorow. Got nice flowers on the first day from mum and dad.

Yay Mel!!! So glad you are already day three and are minus the bear hugger! I know you are still sore but that will pass and each day you will feel a little better.
Big gentle hugs for a job well done.

Kylie, DD is finally on medication so is beginning to even out with her moods and thoughts so although this is a good thing it is a very small start and hopefully will just keep getting better as she does her treatment.
I'm doing better now after the mauling I got from the cat. I have twelve stitches in my right leg and four in my finger but still managing to get things done........lol. The rest of me is missing home and I really look forward to the day I can pack my bag and leave my DD's house and know she and the grandsons will be safe.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Very gentle hugs for Mel and Chris
It is strange not having to run up to see my MiL everyday. Still have loads of things to sort out tea all must get it all done but sometimes it is difficult to get her children take decisions. BiL is here and wants to keep everything. He bugs me by going around and looking at things and says oh that was Mum's. Yes we have many things she gave us over the years.
Must get something done here today. And I have a docs apt about my back which has been really dreadful.
Big hugs.

Hello ladies, I thought this might be a good place to join in by wishing Mel a speedy recovery so I am sending best wishes from the west. Great news that 2 of the 4 drains are gone already. That has probably already brought you great relief.
I am three weeks post op but have been quite ill with infection for the past week. A bit of a setback, but I am having the wound debrided and re-dressed every other day and things appear to be improving. Still have one drain left though and the exit site has become very tender so I think it has outstayed its welcome!
I have been mainly posting on the June surgery thread and the ladies there have been a wonderful source of support, information and at times entertainment. I am very keen to share more of the Australian experience as I continue to recover so I am hoping to be a bit more regular here. I am certainly grateful that there is an Aussie thread to join.
Alyson, I noticed your family's recent bereavement. I think your BIL comments would bug me too😡. It's a difficult time for a family even when the bereavement is expected. There is always so much to do and so many decisions to make at a time when emotional energy is so low. I hope you are able to spend time looking after your own needs amidst all that.
Til next time, I wish you all well.
Jac

Aly that 'something missing' feeling will with time will pass but in the mean time be thankful that she is now at peace. Your BIL sounds like a right pain in the ass!! I think I would be just about ready to crown him and although he has lost his mum there is no need to be dithering with decisions. Hope things get better on that front soon.
I do so hope you can get son relief with your back when you see your doc........back pain is just soooo debilitating. Sending gentle (((((hugs)))))).
Jac what a bummer you ended up with an infection! That is so not what you need right now but hopefully you are on the mend now and can soon have that drain removed.
There are a lot of Aussie girls here and once a year we organise a get together for a three day weekend. It's always the last weekend in November and this year it is to be in Melbourne. We usually stay in an apartement and just hang out, chat, eat and have a few really good laughs......it's a great weekend and would love to see you if you can make it to our next one.
Grandson has just left for his year 12 Formal. What a handsome young fellow all decked out in his suit. Once I get some pics loaded I will share.......I promise......lol.
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi Aussie Sisters, I'm a newbie, 1st post, looking forward to getting to know all you lovely ladies, a little down the road with my treatment, had 2 surgeries, 5 months of chemo, now on the radiation therapy soon, wish me luck!

Sweetpea, welcome, and thanks for joining us here! We do wish you much luck, and please keep us posted!

Hi Sweetpea and welcome!! I'm a SA girl too and am in Adelaide right now so if you want to catch up just say the word and we'll work something out!
Sorry to hear you needed to join us here but glad you found us none the less. There is some great info on these boards as well as loads of comfort and support. Good luck with your rads and if there is a tip I can give you the best one would be make sure you moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Your rads nurse or doc will recommend a product for this but don't be afraid to change to something else if you find the one given isn't doing its job for you. There are a lot of others on the market that do well.
Keep coming back here and ask any questions that cross your mind as you are sure to get some really good answers from those who have been there and done that.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy thank you for the invitation to the November gathering. I am keen to consider it. Would you mind sending me the info about where everyone is staying.
My wound is requiring some specialist treatment after the infection so I have had quite a setback this past couple of weeks. I am hoping the new dressing, with an inbuilt vacuum system, will help with the healing.
Mel, I hope you are enjoying being home. There's nothing better to help with recovery. 😃And Hi to Sweetpea, I am fairly new to this thread too. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Jac
