    Hi all

That's sad news about Judy, I just looked back at some of her posts and remembered reading them before. She was depressed and not well at all, hopefully at peace now.

There's been a few people pass away on the bowel cancer site the past few weeks. One a man of only 37, very sad.

I see the Oncologist on Wednesday and have my 8th chemo. I'll see what he says about my treatment. I had my hair cut short and everyone has said how good that it looks and my rash has come back again on my face. The rash means the chemo is working which is good.

Hi Carol, yes, sad news indeed about Judy.

Fingers crossed that you get good report from your onc on Wednesday. Post a pic of your short hair so we can all admire it.......it sounds great. Damn about that rash, but as you say, it means that your chemo is doing it's thing so not a bad thing, just annoying.

I have a busy week next week again, the never-ending roundabout of specialist appointments. I have a chest and abdomen CT on Monday to see if we can find what is causing me so much discomfort and down right pain in my side and under my ribs on the right hand side. Then in the afternoon I see the Neuro-opthamologist for some extra tests that my opthamologist wants done due to the swanoma I have. It will be an interesting visit.

On Wednesday it's back down to the city for my six month MRI on the swanoma to see if it's grown. I'll be interested to see as I have begun to get ear aches this last few weeks, then on Thursday I get to see the ENT Specialist to get the results. I'm hoping that the following week I can just stay home and put my feet up.

    Take care all.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Carol, your hair looks great short! Considering all that you are going through, it looks like you are hanging in there well.

I saw the Neoro-opthamologist yesterday......she ran some tests and explained exactly why my opthamologist had sent me to her.....lol......I had forgotten.....lol. apparently he is concerned that the BC may go to my eyes but she is thinking no probs but has ordered another big test at another facility. The order has been faxed through and now I wait to hear from them, which I'm told, can be up to two months. Looks like next years calendar is already filling up.

Also had my CT, and still no explanation of why I'm getting this pain.......the results were good actually, they told me that the Faslodex is actually working as I'm stable! Yay!! Can't get much better than that.

Tomorrow arvo is the MRI to check on the visitor in my head and Thursday is when I see the ENT to get the results.....talk about being over all the doctors appointments! I can honestly say, that I will be mighty please when it's just one a month again and I can get some quiet time at home. I have so many craft things started that I really need time to get them all finished.

    Take care all.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

    Hi All

Chrissy I've never heard of it going to the eyes before. Congrats on the CT results and good luck with the MRI.

I see my Oncologist tomorrow then have my chemo. I'll ask how many more chemo's I'm going to have.

    Hi all

I had my 12th chemo today but without the pump for 48 hours so hopefully will feel alright for Christmas day. They were busy in there trying to get everyone done,

I just have to keep having chemo, my CT the other week came back ok and I'm having a PET scan in 8 weeks to get a better look.

Very quiet her lately I hope that everyone is ok.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Hi Carol, glad you were able to get your chemo without the pump......Keeping my fingers crossed for you to be able to enjoy Christmas. Yay!!! on the stable CT results, here's hoping the PET says the same thing.

I'm hanging in there, stable again so the Faslodex is doing good things.......now if I could only get the breathing under control, I'd be a happy camper.....lol.....another words, there is no way I could do the hundred yard dash without being on my face after the first five. Still here, still hanging in there like everyone else, one day at a time.

My wish for all is that 2020 brings better days, easier treatments, and fabulous results. Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. Love to you all,

    Chrissy

    Hi all

It's been very quite in here. Hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New year.

I had my PET scan and everything is going well. I just have to keep having chemo. I'm finishing fulltime work this week as I'm getting too tired and with only working 1 week every fortnight it's not enough money. I applied for my Super and within about 6 weeks I have the money in the bank. I'm just going to work 10 hours a fortnight, it feels strange to finish work.

I will be going on a few holidays so am looking forward to it.

    Hope that everyone is well.

    Carol

I'm not sure if anyone checks this page any more, but I'll repost here from the facebook group. I spoke to Chrissy yesterday and her daughter sent me a message with all the information. Chrissy isn't doing well.

Mum's condition since Friday was so poor she was unable to speak or comprehend what's going on so I'm assuming you haven't spoken since then. The renal failure has caused her to be confused, disoriented, weak, and just out of it, but with a very slight improvement in function since this morning she's more with it and had a FaceTime call with Dad which is great. She is also finally responding to the antibiotics so her pneumonia seems to be under control. They have also just moved her from icu back into the ward. But while she has shown some improvement she knows it's not enough, and she knows it's her time. So do we. What we're really hoping for is that we can get her well enough to come home so we can all be together.

Trisha-Anne - devastating news to hear Chrissy is not doing well! I have this thread on my favourites, but it has been very quiet. I remember how supportive Chrissy and you all were when I caught up with you in Adelaide. I feel quite teary thinking about her. She has always been so kind and supportive of myself and others. I hope she regains enough health to return home to her family for whatever time she has left! Fcku cancer!😥

    Hello Trisha-Anne,

I have been absent for a long time but I do pop in from time to time. I am shocked to read that lovely Chrissy is not doing well. My heart feels heavy and I am so sad for her and her family. I remember how very kind and informative you both were in the very dark days when I was first diagnosed eight years ago.

Sending love and best wishes and if Chrissy's family is reading please convey my best wishes and tell Chrissy I am thinking of her and send my love.

    Hello everyone

I've just spoken to Chrissy, and sent your love to her. She's in palliative care at one of her daughter's house. She's very comfortable at the moment, even if she drifted off a bit when I was talking to her. At least her pain is under control. I'll keep you all updated.

I'm not sure if anyone on here knows that we lost our beautiful Ally (from NZ) earlier this year. It's been a truly shitty year so far.

    Trish

    Hi Trish,

Thank you for the news from Chrissy. It’s good at least she is home with her loving family.

I am so sorry to hear about Ally, I do remember her. It is so devastating to lose people to this dreadful disease.

I hope you are doing well and still operating your dog photography business.

    Best wishes Lola

Hi Kylie, very quiet on this thread but I’m not one to post a lot, so can’t complain if others don’t. I wonder how Chrissy is faring and send your wishes and mine on to her. I’m finding isolation and more chemo very challenging but again I can’t complain. Side effects are annoying but manageable so far. I hope Trisha and all the Australian ladies are doing as well as can be expected. Best regards xx

    Hello all

I spoke to Chrissy yesterday and she was going in to have mapping done to get set up for rads to her ribs to help with pain control. She's sounding something like her old self, and still has that amazing laugh and wisdom.

I've had some bad news myself ..... I've been a bit unwell and went to the dr. Long story short, I now have lung cancer. It appears to be a new primary - not mets, so that's sort of one positive. A new primary would be much easier to treat.

I see a respiratory specialist on Friday morning, and hopefully will know what the next steps are after that.

    Bugger.

    Trish

Bugger is right! That is very bad news Trisha. As you say another primary should be easier to treat. Fingers and toes crossed for you and a treatment plan ASAP. Take extra special care of yourself and best wishes x

Trish that is really bad news. After everything you have been through, now lung cancer. So bloody unfair.
You must have been shocked to receive the diagnosis. I am so fed up of living from test to test and always in fear of what may come next. Hate this disease.
Hope your treatment plan on Friday is kind to you and very doable.

Glad to hear that Chrissy is feeling well enough to receive more treatment, but sorry she is in so much pain.

    Hugs, Lola

    Geez Trish,

It’s the old “never rains but it pours” scenario!

I think 2020 is the shittiest year I have ever confronted. It’s like bad news day has turned into bad news week... month! But we have become stoic here on CBC, and have some really good strategies to keep us moving on with our lives and treatments!

    Sending gentle hugs💐

Hi ladies, I haven't been on this thread for a long time but still keep in touch with some of the original ladies. I want to mention that I have been thinking of Trish and Chrissy a lot with their current challenges. They are strong ladies and I am praying for them and wishing them well. And same to other ladies here.
