yep. going to the seminar. Karen, I'll meet you at the usual spot 7:45.  I need to register when I get there though cause of course I never sent in.  Ongoing saga:   needed to switch my work phone service (another story) so it took me 2.5 hrs. at one phone service, a lot of money, 1.5 hrs. with another service and finally IT dept. to screw around.  Needless to say wasn't in a good mood today.  Tonight had to go grocery shopping so I can play tomorrow.  I've decided, I need to win the lottery.

    Good night.

    Love,

    Maureen

I could think of several "colorful" verbs and adverbs to describe my life of late.  Good news, I'm healthy.

    Hi Ladies,

I am new to this site and am from Rochester.  I've been on this site for about a month and have learned so much.  Let me know if any of you are from my neck of the woods.

    Thanks!

Hi Wendy, welcome to the group, I am the closest to you, I live in Batavia, all my doctors are located in Rochester, they are all at Rochester General Hospital and I get my mammograms at Elizabeth Wendy Breast Care.  I love my whole team.  Although we usually meet in the Clarence/Williamsville area for our monthly luncheons, we do take turns and the group does come over to Batavia at Alex's Place, it would be so nice to meet you, you are invited to all our luncheons, next one on the 17th in Williamsville, but the Batavia one may be the easiest one for you.  You could always drive to Batavia and I could drive us on to the Williamsville restaurant.  Today three of us went to a Breast Cancer Education and luncheon, we are a fun loving group and a strong group of intelligent women always ready to support each other or laugh together.  Others will drop in to welcome you, nice to know you have been following us.  Again, welcome, take care, Karen

HI Wendy- welcome.  I'm not in Rochester area, but do echo Karen's message. I hope you'll be able to join us for lunch.

Everyone - snow on the ground??? Not ready for this..

    Karen,

Thanks so much for your reply!  I'd love to join you sometime!  My treatment has been at Strong Hospital but I am not happy and don't have faith in my docs so am searching around now for an MO.  I am trying to visit Roswell, as they are a NCI designated hospital.  I am about a week and a half post BMX.

Also to let you know, there is a wonderful support organization in Rochester called the Breast Cancer Coalition.  They have guest speakers, support groups, peer counelors and such.  I've pretty much been isolated due to the emotions surrounding all of "this" but have been twice with the director just for some guidance on treatment.

So thanks a million for the warm welcome!  As soon as I can drive, I will head to Batavia.  I'm familiar with it - in fact there is a restaurant in Leroy I love - the R and R Depot.  We might go there today - need to give the caregivers a break.

Hi all, won't even comment on the Bill's game, I fell asleep, then watched a teen movie with my DGD.  It was much more enjoyable.  Maureen and Cheryl - had a wonderful time at the seminar and luncheon yesterday, some little birdie(s) hid a lovely scarf in my bag, thank you so much.  From now on I am going to keep the O2 in the car just in case.    Thank you for all your help in fetching drinks, carrying snacks, I think I'm a little spoiled by all the attention.  Have an app't. tomorrow with my BS, will let you know how it goes.  Hugs, Karen

Hi Wendy,  Welcome  to the group.  Let us know when you're up to lunch, we'd love to meet you in person.

All, snow??  WTH is that?  man, I am NOT ready for snow.

Cheryl/Karen,  boy that free message made me come home and take a nap.  That was the most relaxing thing I've ever done. Karen you found us out,  Cheryl and I decided you needed a scarf just like our scarf.  I would've bought one for everyone if I had more money with me, they were soooo beautiful.  I'll wear it on the 17th too.

Hope everyone else is doing well.  I have a lazy day, laundry and made banana bread for Paul to take to work.  I'm starting the count down to my family being all together for Xmas.  Even though I dread the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I'm looking forward to having my family reunited.  This will be the first thanksgiving ever we've been apart so Xmas will be all the more special. I need to iron my clothes for the week and I'm sitting on the couch typing.  Must be time to up the Vitamin D, this weather is really bothering my joints. Have a great night ladies

    Love,

    Maureen

PS, didn't watch the game, sick of sitting on the losing side :(

Wendy, welcome...hope you are successful in finding the right doctors for you. I had a BMX about a year and a half ago, but did not need chemo nor radiation.

Maureen, I'm with you regarding the Bills....they're not much to watch this season. And I am so mad about this hockey situation. At this point i don't care if they never settle. It's just so frustrating because no hockey hurts a lot of local businesses. Such greediness, such tremendous salaries when so many go without.

Karen, good luck with appt tomorrow!

And yuck to this cold weather...it just causes my pec muscles to tighten up the minute I walk outside. I'm already dressing in layers.

Wishing everyone a good week. Love, Jan

Dear Maureen, I use the Advil Blue Liquid capsules when my knees are really paining, this weather certainly isn't helping any at all.  Also at night I use a muscle rub cream, the warmth seems to tone it down, smells bad but it helps.  Lots of Happy Dances and chocolate martinis on the 17th!!  This next week, with the exception of being on the edge of the northeaster, is supposed to gradually warm up and the sun will reappear, that should help.  Sometimes I feel like I am walking like Frankenstein!!

Wendy, welcome to the group.  I am from Rochester, but now live in Buffalo.  I am 4.5 years out.  I had a bmx, with immediate reconstruction, tissue expanders and implants.  I did not have chemo or radiation.  I will be in Rochester this sunday through tuesday, if you would like to visit for a bit let me know and we can get together.

Karen and Maureen, saturday was fun.  Karen can't wait to see you wearing your scarf.  It was our pleasure to buy it for you.  Good news on your dr appointment.

Jan, I know what you mean about the cold affecting the peck muscles, it still bothers me.  I just hate the cold period!!!

Things going well here.  Still going to PT for my foot, leg and back.  Hoping it gets healed soon.  I am getting a little tired of wearing sneakers all the time.  Went to GP today for check up on my foot and talked about a pap test.  I had one last Feb. and it was fine, she mentioned that i could go for another year or two before haveing the pap.  I told her that I would like to continue having them once a year because of the bc.  She has agreed and I will have the test in May.  What a relief.

Okay, I am going to watch DWTS.  Have a nice evening and sleep well.

    Hugs, Cheryl

Cheryl- sorry you're still dealing with the PT and foot/leg problems.  I hope you heal quickly.  I'm with you on Pap , i'd rather have test more frequently now too, it just makes me rest easier.

Maureen- my Onco is a big believer in Chostocondroitin (sp) for join pain .  I've used those new salonpas pads and like those.  If you get desparate, you can always go to a pain clinic and get injections - those work wonderfully.

Jan- who would have known about that SE - you'll need to wear tripple sweaters if this cold keeps up.

I hope everyone else is fine. I'm good- looking forward to seeing everyone and will fill you in on my life when we meet.!

Thanks Cheryl for the very warm welcome!  Where do you visit in Rochester?  I am on the Brighton / Penfield border.  I like life here.

I have a question for all of you gals.  Have you been treated at Roswell?  I have a MO consult with them next Tuesday - a Dr. Matine.  Strong Hospital (where my breast clinic is) could not get me in to see a MO until a month post-op.  So I had to do all I could to line some other consults up.  Roswell is a NCI designated hospital; there is not one in Rochester.  Let me know your thoughts and thank you!

Ditto Maureen and Cheryl!! the stock market is not happy either.

Wendy, I was treated at Roswell. I loved their radiation department -doctor May treated me.  Surgeon , while the "best", I'd not elect to see again.  I'd definately go and see them - the whole you treatment approach is key.  Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

Happy as a clam here!! what is everyone so upset about??? Unless of course you all are multimillionaires :)  sorry had to get that in....Wendy-so glad to meet you.  I'm a Roswell girl--had one of my surgeries there and my radiation treatments.  Cannot say enough about Roswell.  Not a fancy palace but boy do they care and make you feel you are in the right place..  Good luck with your consultation.  Had my mammogram on Wednesday, but not without some intense stress---they had to go back and do more films on my right, "good" breast, but turns out everything is ok.  Glad they are checking to be sure, but boy, was my gown drenched with sweat afterwards.  I thought, "Man, do i really have to do it again???" I am free on the 17th and will see you all then!!

Dear Susan, another happy dance, I think this last month just about all of us had visits or mammograms and were given the all clear!!!   I know what you mean about the sweating, after my mammogram and ultrasound they led me to a small room, a nurse was waiting there with a folder, first time that had ever happened.  I could feel that cold chill, she just had the letter stating my tests were fine, see you in a year.  I think they make Secret in a clinical strength, might have to keep one on reserve for test days!  hugs, Karen

I'm on board for the clinical stregnth Secret.  Only have stress test and onc appt left to go.

Sorry Susan, not an Obama fan at all, but we are entitled to our opinion.  Not a millionaire just tired of people getting a free ride and socialist government.  Again, my opinion.  Let's agree to disagree.  Hope he keeps his word because the hopey changy thing clearly didn't work.

Busy Saturday,  blood work at 8AM bra fitting at 10AM joining a gym and car 40K check up at 2 and dinner with old neighbors at 5PM.  Think I'll have a martini at the end of today.

See everyone soon with many reasons to celebrate.

    Maureen

PS.  Did you ever check out the site pintrest?  Great site for random things, getting hooked though.  Waiting for my fitting appt. today, I was annoyed when she called me because I was reading about how to re-arrange your furniture in any room.  Take a pict., add the furniture and viola they provide a room design.  Be careful, it's so random, it's addictive.

Dear Maureen, sounds like a FULL day, will definitely opt for a martini later, preferably chocolate.  Did you find that liquor Choco Lat yet, it is yummy.  I'll agree to disagree also, cannot let my Obama leaning go unheralded.  All our prayers should be behind our President, I know they are.  Hugs, Karen

Hi all sitting on couch enjoying sunshine warmth and rest a great recipe for relaxing day. Summary of yesterday car good blood work done bras can be picked up on Tuesday. Funny thing though I shrunk a cup size but gained weight. Wish they could just bring the whole belly region up.....I'd rival dear Dolly Parton. LOL.

Bills? Not sure what to do? Wish for early Xmas gift of a win? Think they need a miracle to compensate for lack of skill? Perhaps Ralph Wilson should tell them a loss today will result in loss of 15% of their salary.

    Love

Dear Maureen, love the Dolly Parton line, may I recommend the 4 pronged cane to keep from falling forward.  I'd love to say that's why I use mine, though if my belly fat moved up, we'd make a great, alright, different set of twins walking around.  Have not made up my mind about watching the Bills, it is almost a masochistic act!!  hugs, Karen
