Implant Exchange (oYo) ~ Anyone go/stay SMALL?? (B cup)

Megan - then my usual tight jeans and Ts it is! LOL...I definitely do NOT wear flowy things. I have no idea why I prefer things snug - like a security blanket! Of course my tops were never snug...just across my booty and thighs! I still need to go shopping however!!

I'm kinda the hippy-shirt-wearing gal, not in a dirty-stinky-hippy-way, though! but flowery and flowy! I like my jeans fitted, but am a fan of the "bohemian" look for tops, I guess, although I did just buy like 6 semi-fitted V-necked tanks...I'm adjusting to the size and look more and more...0

Megan ~ No..I could not really tell a significant difference in the areas that were fat grafted. He said the same thing...about it not being super noticeable like liposuction would be.
0 -
It was my understanding that they remove the fat with a syringe. How much really do you think they are going to take with a syringe even if they take several? Not much.

Megan, how long did you leave your foobs locked in place post surgery? I've been wearing my tightest bra that squishes them together ever since I read that post! I was really good about wearing my surgical bra post mx but this time around they told me I was good to go in a sports bra so I wasn't too worried!

Funny but after my BMX my PS just put me in a extra large training bra type thing that had no support. My TE's seem to stay in place though.
BTW did any of you take a pillow for a ride home from exchange surgery? Also will I need to lower everthing in my medicine cabinet and shower so I don't reach over my shoulders? I had to do that after the BMX but I also had drains. No drains this time.

Sandy - I was wearing sports bras with molded cups pretty much 24/7 after exchange for a month. I wasn't given very 'clear' insruction but to wear a sports bra. After shopping for them (found them at Marshalls) I found the molded cup-ones had great support and kept the boobs where I 'presumed' they should be. Since I had pocket work my concern was the outer migration to the arm pit, never happened...I think I would suggest wearing something that gives the lateral suppot as well as support from underneath, I just went by the rationale that you want to keep them where they 'belong', which is up, in (within reason) and well-supported! I still wear them almost daily at the gym, nothing moves and the are comfy. Mine were by Marika and had side adjustments to keep them fitted tight around my ribcage, which I hear is important. I like this brand because they are kinda low-cut, so I could wear them with tanks out on errands, etc and they didn't look totally gym-ish! I switched to underwires at 5 or 6 weeks out, I liked the wire because it gave just enough separation in the cleavage-area. Now, 3 months out, I wear underwires during the day and sleep in a bra-lette kinda thing, its pretty much a simple narrow-strapped sports bra, although there is NO WAY I would wear it to the gym, the support is non-existant, but since I don't feel comfy sleeping with no support, these work great!
Lago - I brought a pillow, my ride, as you know is 60-90 minutes, so better safe than sorry. I didn't lower stuff all that much, I just asked for help grabbing dishes, etc. I did get my hair washed at the salon, like I did after bmx. There was no way I could tackle washing and drying this mop! My hub came up with a nickname for me after bmx, T-Rex...everytime I reached for something I kept my elbows pinned to my sides and would lean in and get on my tip-toes, stretching out my forearms as far as I could without using my upper arms, hence the t-rex resemblence! ;-) I stuck with this method for exchange until I could reach up, which I know I did way sooner than bmx. It's kinda amazing to compare the two surgeries, after about 4 days after exchange I was feeling pretty darn good...couldn't say that after bmx, I can barely remember the first week I was pretty darn drugged on vicodin, hung over from morphine, and just shaking out the anesthesia cobwebs! Wow, now that just painted quite the scary picture in my head!
...and as far as TE's, I wore nothing but camis the whole time, those puppies went no where and never really felt like they needed support, it's a whole different world when the implants move in!
Wishing you a happy E-day, Lago!!!

well, girls - I'm off!!! I just returned from a quick trip out to the Cape to bring my little darlin's to my parents house and now it's time for me to pack up the car and head to Atlantic City till Monday. I'll check back when I can, I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!!

Love the T-Rex nickname! Your husband sounds like he has a great sense of humor, Megan. Have a fab time in Atlantic City!!
And good luck tomorrow, lago! Since you are not supposed to reach your arms above your shoulders for 6 weeks...and you will be tempted since it doesn't hurt much...you might want to move the stuff down. I actually didn't keep my arms pinned to my side though...I just lifted my upper arm to shoulder height...then stood on my tippy toes while extending my forearm up straight...I could reach most stuff that way... or I just got a stool.

I dont think I was told about reaching....oops....just lifting. I can reach pretty well and have been acting as normally as I can without going too far. But the only thing thats really high in our house (over the shoulders) are the tall glasses. The hardest thing for me is resisting the urge to clean. Not that I am a Suzie Homemaker, but my family leaves all kinds of crap on the kitchen counters and floors....its making me batty!
I didnt bring a pillow the second time on the car trip either - but its a 20 minute ride. I wasnt feeling much of anything at that point anyway.
LAGO - will be thinking of you tomorrow!!!! Im so happyfor you!
Sandy I just picked up new bras at Khols...one is sort of a sports bra looking thing but lower cut like megans and not with a racer back. It has a WIDE band around the ribs which I love and molded cups as well. It will be my sleeper bra I think. I forget the name already but it has a Fleur-de-Lis on them...I can go look if you need it. They are buy one get one 1/2 off right now. I have to get a wire-free which is virtually impossible in a D cup. (yes, I said it)
Megan _ I can totally identify with the TRex!!! How funny! Thats exactly what it looks like! Hve an awesome trip and Ill be in touch on Monday with some final trip plans!
This wireless cup thing has GOT to go. Stores carry NOTHING in a 32 over an A. I never noticed before (LOL!!!!). The VS bras I bought the other day, I brought back because I think the cups are too small...and again in a D there were none without wires. I ended up at Khols looking for 34's that ran small in the band. Luckily there is a brand out there that is just that. The 34's fit like 32's in every other brand. And before we get all excited that I am wearing a D.....remember I am still swollen! My left one is like a torpedo and the right one is still like a mesa with no projection, so I have to get a bra to fit Miss Lefty right now.

Yes I have the stool. Thanks for the info. Looks like my shampoo, toothbrush and a few other things on the top shelf in the bathroom/shower will need to be moved today. Why don't they tell us this crap before surgery?
I remember my BS telling after BMX not to do the T-Rex thing or I'll get stiff. It will be interesting to hear what directions I get from my PS. 6 weeks of not reaching! OMG that is so going to mess with my LE and my range of motion. Maybe I should book time with my PT now
I don't expect to have much downtime. Remember I didn't do any drugs after BMX, not the pain pump or tylenol. I hope to keep it that way since narcotics give me the big C. Found that out after only 2 half doses of norco when I had shingles. Yes I do have colase just in case.
0 -
Lago I didnt really need the pain meds after a day or two but took them for 4 so I would stay in the recliner sleeping. Im at the dangerous 10th day (last time on day 10 I cleaned the kitchen and dusted and my incision popped open)....so I know I have to be careful...but Ive been feeling terrific since about day 6. I got the Big C in a BIg Bad Way this time too. Blah

lago ~ just wanted to point out that your last post began with "stool" and ended with "the big C".0
-
And my PS actually told me not to keep my arms pinned at my sides either, because of the possibility of frozen shoulder. The ONLY thing he didn't want me to do (besides lifting over 5lbs) was reach UP past the shoulder and reaching BEHIND my back. Both of those actions stretch the pec muscle. So I made sure I moved my arms everyway I was allowed to help my ROM during those 6 weeks. ... it's SO great when those restrictions are lifted though... first thing I did was clasp my hands behind my back and strrreeettttcccchhhh!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!

Good luck lago....glad you have the stool and colase. It does sound like you are prepared!0

Is everyone getting silicone? Any second thoughts?
0 -
No second thoughts about the silicone for me, Annie. ONE of the factors for my decision was hearing how many people eventually exchanged thier saline for silicone because of constant problems. Leaking/Deflating. My PS said he has NEVER had a patient exchange silicone for saline ~ but has many do the opposite.
Also, because silicone manufacturers recommened an MRI every 3 years....I was told that insurance HAS to pay for that because it is reconstruction. I have to get an MRI each year anyway...so I figure I will know of any problem right away?
Are you debating which to use, Annie?
0 -
There was national headline news last night about it...
0 -
Yes Im a Silli girl too!!! (ha ha). I didnt give it a second thought beacause of the new standards and the way they feel. I did hear that they are harder to clean up if they DO rupture. I dont plan on rupturing!

So Sue......should we start calling you SueDee now?! ?! LOL!
I was thinking this morning about you saying something about meeting Megan and that you were "old" ......but at least your foobs are the same age!! And that's what matters, darn it! lol!
Okay...is that weird that I was thinking about your and Megan's foobs this morning?
So lefty has now outswelled righty? How's righty taking it? ...you better get her a pretty darn nice nipple to make up for it! And are you still taking it easy? ...how is the scar looking? This is close to the time it opened up last time, right? ...don't let lefty taunt her and make her cry out for attention again!
And as far as finding the 32D bras....I have one word for you....EBAY!!!! ...just looked... there is a BEAUTIFUL Freya Monet Plunge Balcony 32D bra with your name on it!!
0 -
Oops wait...that's wire. Here's a DKNY wireless one for yah!
One other funny thing I noticed was that looking at the D bras now... there are quite a few that are labeld "minimizer" bras. I have never in my life been a size that I would contemplate wanting to "minimize" my chest area! LOL!
0 -
Susan YOU CRACK ME UP! - SueDBC because I cant decide on a size? I would split and go right to Ebay if I knew Id be a 32D after my swelling is down. I think they are probably swollen equally, but Lefty sticks OUT while Righty is more WIDE. Righty has been encroaching on lefties dance space in an effort to steal the nipple I think but I have stopped wearing the surgical bra and have her safely in her own cup now.
Im taking it easier in that I do not go for power walks, zumba, biking...I dont clean or cook...but I am driving and shopping a little. I told DH I was firm about the no cooking/no cleaning until vacation so I wouldnt have to be left behind.
Yeah I think I have 8 years on Megan....but the last 4 years I think my mothers jowels appeared on my face. I dont know why she loaned them to me...I didnt ask for them. LOL....but yes our foobs will be eager to meet each other...THAT will be surreal.

Minimizers and Paddeds.....OUT of the question from now on!

The only advantage I saw to saline is that they will be the same temperature as your body (like the TE's) I do hear for small, thin, bony women they tend to ripple. From the wast up that's me.
So its cohesive gels for me. Personally I like silicone. I wonder if my boobie prizes will match my spatulas.
0 -
Ok - just a thought - it would be a good thing to get an MRI every three years, right????
A friend at work was trying to tell me to get saline...ughhhhhhh
All is well. I am taking the dive in two weeks. Silicone it is. I can not wait til this is over.
Then onto bra shopping....

We have SO much in common right now, Sue!... I drive and shop... and DON'T clean or cook!
I wonder if our hubbies would believe that we have an 8 month cooking/cleaning restriction?
0 -
lago ~ 9 weeks out and I haven't noticed the "cold foob" thing at all? And I feel myself up all the time! I wonder if it has anything to do with the nipple sparing? SueBeeDee should be a good tester....does righty feel colder than lefty??
Annie ~ I had a lot of people give me the "look" when I said I was doing silicone instead of saline. I think it's because of all the bad press it received years ago. They really are a totally different beast than the ones of the past. And my PS's nurse said that your body forms a natural "case" around your implant, so if there IS any leakage..because the new ones are more viscous than the previous versions.., the leakage would stay contained in the area....until they find it on the MRI. .. sounds good on paper.

Did your rads effect the outcome of your implants? Did you have an ALND or rads to the axilla?
0 -
I did not have any rads, damazon. I know there are some threads on here that go into detail about rads and reconstruction.

You'll notice the cold foob in the winter from what I hear. It's the only thing that I wasn't too happy about but you can't replace with an exact replica of what mother nature gave you. Always some trade offs.
