Implant Exchange (oYo) ~ Anyone go/stay SMALL?? (B cup)
Comments
-
Hi Lauren-
I went bigger and did not have any issues....I was a very small/kind of lopsided A to start, my expanders were 275 I think, I came out of surgery with 120cc's and I filled to 360cc in 30 cc increments. Original exchange in April was for 350/375cc silicone implants which was a full B. Two weeks ago I did a revision (they settled a bit unevenly) and I took the opp to bump up a size again to 400/450cc which on my 5'1' frame is now a C. How big are the expanders he put in? I think they can often take those up to 50% more if your skin can handle it and there are no mitigating circumstances...Seems like most of us feel the implants look smaller than the TEs, I'm no pro but following these threads it seems if you want a C cup you will def need the "++" on the 300!...You will definitely get less defensive about bumping the "girls" around! (Crowded subways in NYC this time of year don't help either!). Where was your surgery done?

Most of my life I was a non full 34A. In my 40's I was a not so full B (think Calvin Klein or Olga bras. Never could fill out a Victoria Secret bra). Now I'm wearing mostly 34D! and a few 34C but they are a little skimpy. I didn't have kids so I had very dense tissue (AKA perky ones that cancer loves to grow in).
I must say I'm bigger than I thought I would be. I wanted to go a little fuller and bigger. Everyone says I look in proportion. I still think I'm a bit too big but this isn't an exact science. I wanted to be a B/C so I'm off by one size.

Lauren - you asked how we smaller girls could stretch to go bigger? My first PS didnt think I would be able to go big as a C. He was pretty clear that I would be trying to get to a full B and a small C if I was lucky. Second PS (first one broke his arm) said I could go as big as I wanted because my 'skin was young'. If yours is tight and not softening in between fills, that may be the reasoning. My fills were every other week and I definitely was softening in between fills. I felt very tight after exchange still - and that took quite some time to settle. As for sensitivity, oh my yes there is a big difference after exchange. If I hit my TE with the fridge door one more time! LOL....now its much easier since I dont really feel anything over there!
Lago - its funny isnt it? Some days I feel like I have the smallest boobs in the neighborhood still and some days I look at them and think they are too big for me. Not that I want them bigger (or smaller), just more natural movement would be nice.
Susan - SueBeeDD - I guess that one stuck, didnt it!

Thanks to you sweet ladies to reply to me. I just went to another PS today for a 2nd opinion. She said I could have 2-3 more fills. I now feel confident that if my PS won't do any more fills, that I will switch PS. She also rec Style 20 high profile silicone rounds for me, not gummies, which is what I was leaning toward, so that was good to hear.
Summer2recover, it's so nice to hear that your feeling and defensivenes improved after the exchange. I really hope for that too.
takeadeepbreath, I'm glad to hear you were able to go so much bigger than you were pre-BMX. My surgery was at MSKCC with Dr. Heerdt and my PS is Dr. Cordeiro. Also nice to hear that you got less defenisive about bumps and touches.
Lago and SueBeeDD, nice to hear you were able to go bigger too. This is all making me feel better about asking to go bigger. I am young-ish (36 yo) and my breasts should be able to stretch since I just got through 3 years of pregnancy and breastfeeding!
I go in to see my PS on 1/10 and hope he will give me antother fill. I also take a breast reconstruction class that day through MSKCC. I am excited about it since I have NO education on these implants and realy need it before I feel good about the exchange and what's best.
Thanks to all of you and happy new year!

I'm 3 weeks post swap........and I'm doing great. I had absolutely NO fills, and am still hoping the
swelling in the swaps will go away. I wanna be and stay small. I have pain in the non-radiated side as my PS had to do a lift
to keep them even. I'm a pretty solid B right now. But all in all......it went very very well.
No nipple recon, and no tattoos. Barbie breasts.

I got permission to take the twins out for a spin for a weding on December 30 and New Years Eve. I really put them out there last night. We went with friends to an event and I was all proud, showing off the cleavage in the push up bra I wore. We walked in the door and right into a kind of large woman with HUGE boobs wearing a really low cut dress, right in the middle of the conversation about my new twins. There were 6 of us, and we literally stopped in our tracks and started laughing. I was totally one-upped. Hope you all had a great new year's eve, and here is to a drama-less new year. Below is a cute cartoon my son sent me.

Hello again and Happy 2012! It's been awhile since I posted, but I have brand new nipples! I posted on the photo forum 2 post-op pictures from my nipple reconstruction on Jan. 5, 2012. The pictures are 2 days post-op (in bandages with Medela Therashields), 3 days post-op- rather bloody looking-sorry. My PS did a flap procedure using the BLMX scars and used small cylinder nipple implants made of an alloderm-like/collagen material. This helps prevent complete shrinkage; I am expecting about 50% shrinkage to occur. I will do the tattoos in a few months, hopefully with Vinnie Myers in Baltimore.0

I have my first fill on 1/11. I have TE with 180 cc at BMX on 11/28. I have learned that I need to ask exactly the brand, size, style and all the details of the TEs, which I will do on 1/11. He did say he planned to fill to 700-800 cc. I have to ask if that is total or per side!? Wow.
I'm a little nervous about the fill, as I am flying to San Francisco from Los Angeles the day after and I don't want to be too uncomfortable.
I also started tamoxifen on Sunday, 1/8, so I'm worried about side effects kicking in.
I'm 5'7", 165 lbs, was a 40 DD before BMX, and expect to go to full C final. I had hoped to hav emy exchange before my birthday in March, but it's not looking so good for that. Maybe by summer, though. I have a pool. We swim daily from April to November and I'm going to miss it sooo much if unable to get into it due to surgery.

SheChirple. I didn't get any discomfort from expansions till the 7th one. I had 10. I did Anastrozole (generic Arimidex) not Tamoxifen. I didn't get any SE till the 3rd month and they are so far pretty minor. (March 1st will be one year). Many women don't get any SE.0

Hey all-Posted a new pic on picture site-had NSM Dec '10 with TEs. In April '11 had exchange to 350/375 --right side was a bit lower, eventually had ripples and a flattened part at top (ripples didn't show if I stood straight so pix don't show them well). My wonderful PS was of the mindset, might as well be happy at the end of this journey...Dec '11 (a year to the day) he swapped out for bigger implants on both sides (400/450) , tightened the pocket on the ripply one and did a bit of fat grafting from my waist to fill in on that side. I'm 5'1 112 lbs. Wearing a 34C (was a lopsided small A). So far so good, time will tell!

Wow Redsky I never have heard of those nips implants,I cant find info on the 3D version people talk about either, guess its a long way off,I havent even got a surg date but anxious to get it over with and get on with life, want bmx with TE and implants so hope I will get all done by june but wanna go bigger so tired of padded bras and shopg for swimsuits that were small enough on top. Viviraselle, luv that hair,is that blue? Totally suits your face, u like it? its very futuristic, wish I had the nerve to pull that off. Had the same hairdo since the 60s. Waitin on a prom date so I can go back into the Barbie factory...lol...good luck and warm wishes to everyone for the best of health and future.

Ladies, I have loved reading this thread. I started from the beginning and then skipped to the end. My exchange was in late November. I am 5'2', 110 lbs, 28 in rib cage and got 450 cc Allergan Style 20. I am currently wearing 32D bra's but look like a C. I do feel these implants are too big for me. When I talk to my PS about going smaller (I originally wanted to be a full B/small C and wanted high profile) he offered the Style 15 mid-range implant - 371 ccs. He wants to use this implant to bring me closer in (it is wider - he has always wanted to put an implant in me about 13 cm wide - in the high profile that would have been 500cc and I knew that was too big, so that is why we tried the 450 cc). I think the volume is about right, but worry about a wider implant. I am thinking I will still be wearing a 32 D bra to go around that wide implant and wonder if I will fill it out with the Style 15 that does not project as much. Can anyone with Style 15's tell me how their bra's fit. I know it is more of a athletic/natural look and think I will okay with that. Just wondering how I will be with the less projection and if I will fill out the cup of the bra (I had NSM and according to my PS have big nips, he actually wants to reduce - but if I don't fill out cup of bra, I might want those nips to help me out in that area - yikes . Thanks for any input.0

Kickitmom: Sorry I can't speak to your issue, but I'm posting to help re-activate this thread. I'm 6 months post exchange & larger than I wanted to be no matter how much I jumped up & down & whined. Ask for no more than 38-40" around the front of the breasts. I'm 43" and (duh) clothes don't fit right. Postponing visit to PS, but if I'm still here at the end of a year I'll consider revision to go smaller.
Hope some of the other ladies will chime in with more relevant comments.

Kickitmom I have style 15 397cc. I measure a little bigger than 30" torso (under foob measurement). I wear a perfect 34D. I'm very happy with them. I would not want anymore projection. My PS also did fat transfer twice so I'm fuller. I was barely a 34B, not full before.
I do not look like I'm sporting hamburger buns. I initially wanted to stay the same but then said go a little bigger and fuller. My PS said I would be a large B small C. I think I look like that size. The problem is a 34D is a much smaller cup than a 38 or even a 36D. That's why it's so hard for the doctors to tell you what cup size.
I was a little concerned about going with the style 15 as my PS decided but I trusted him. I have no regrets.
I initially felt I went a little too big but these are actually correct for my frame. Even my mom approves. I just wasn't used to having boobs. It will be a year for me at the end of June since the exchange.
MinusTwo Measuring won't always help. If you are wider than before but project the same you might visually be approximately the same size… granted that does sound much bigger.
----------------------------
Kickitmom & MinusTwo I highly recommend you go to the BREAST IMPLANT SIZING 101 thread and ask Whippetmom what she recommends. Be sure to read her initial post. You might need to send her pictures too.

Hello all! Hope you don't mind if I cut in on the discussion! I'm considering staying "small" but only because I'm sick of these damn TE's, lol. I was a small B on the right and an A/B on the left after lumpectomy and I was planning to go for a C since I have a ginormous rib cage. I'm six weeks post BMX and I'm at 340cc in each. I guess I'm just impatient and want Insta-boobs...like right now...like yesterday! And I'm having a hard time envisioning the "final product". To me, I already look big without clothes, but dressed I feel like I barely fill out a t-shirt. Maybe Whippetmom's sizing thread will help. Oh, and where is the photo forum I keep hearing about?

Twinmom I told my PS I looked good after my 4th expansion. He said a few more… I had 6 more! The TE's do look much bigger than the implants. They sit so high and project more. It's a long process but worth i.
To get access to the photo forum (my photos are posted there) you can contact nowheregirl ( there are others but I don't remember who they are). Please note she is in Japan so different time zone. Also she works full-time so she might not get to your email for several days.

My TE went to 565 before I was able to have an exchange to a 475. I think they shoot for about 100 ccs over what they think your implants will be to make sure there is room. Of course this is with the disclaimer that every PS is different and has a different approach to things!!! Im just saying from experience of MY three PSs (yes Ive had 3 now).
My trouble was I still had that little A over on the left and the high, hard and HUGE TE on the right. I did my best to even myself out but they werent even, not on my best day.
Kickit - Just from my experience, I have a 28 rib cage and my 13cm wide implant, in my opinion, is too wide. I do not have symmastia but my two are rather close. Its gotta go somewhere - I go from edge to edge....I couldnt possibly fit any more - but I wish for a little more projection on the rebuilt side to match the good side. Its going to depend on your own chest.

Lago - I am so happy to hear you are happy with your Style 15's! That is very reassuring to me, especially to hear you are happy with your projection. You said you had fat transfer twice so you were fuller. Where did it make you fuller with your Style 15's? I have spoke to WhippetMom - she is a wealth of information.
MinusTwo - I hear you that you are bigger than you want to be. That is how I feel. I think I am going to look into a second opinion to help me through the process. Anyone know what is the optimum time to have a revision - ie. 6 months after exchange or 9 or a year? It might just depend on everyone individually, but I wonder if you are going smaller if you have to consider the skin and muscle shrinking back.
TwinMom - I had such a hard time envisioning the final product too - especially the 371 cc Style 15 he offered me. I just thinking I want nice little boobies about 350-400 cc's. I think I definitely figured out the approximate volume, but then came in the style implants and width thing.
SueBeeBC - I started to read this thread from the beginning last night and you and Susan and Firedancer and more have been on my mind today. Those first 10 pages or so have some fun things to read and made me laugh. MIght continue on tonight....wondering what some of you ended up with. Thanks so much for letting me know your thoughts on the width of your 13 cm wide implant - that was the 475 cc? Is it High profile? A lot does depend on my chest and I am going to have to trust my plastic surgeon like Lago did. I think the second opinion will also help me with my decision.
I talked to the nurse at my PS office today and I think I am going to have the nipple reduction on March 23rd. They will locally numb my nips and then he will go to work making them smaller and hopefully not show through as much. I am nervous about just laying there while he works for 45 minutes. Might have to bring a bottle of wine, some grapes, cheese, and my ipod ANd hang up a curtain between my chin and chest!

Seeing this thread re-activated made me smile ... I'm over a year out from my BMX and this brings back the memories from going through breast cancer that were actually fun.
Sounds like the ladies with questions got some good advice. I just wanted to chime in about the style 15's for kickitmom. I also rec'd style 15's. 457cc I believe. I'm pretty wide in the ribcage..31 inches, so my implants are 14cm wide. I really like the size on me...but I didn't really want the "busty look" (hence the reason I started this thread . I think whippetmom calls it the "athletic look". I like that. Now only if I can get my thighs and rear to match the "athletic look" as well, I'll be sitting pretty!
I nipple reduction under local anethesia does sound nerve wracking! Hopefully you are numb in that area, so it shouldn't be too bad? Either way... I'd still bring the wine, grapes, cheese and ipod!

SusanG we sound like we have similar bodies although I don't know if I have a big butt. I don't look at it. Thighs I do have! I know I feel plenty busty and I only got the 397cc… that's about 1/10" less projection although you're almost 1/4" wider. I only measure a tad larger 30" I thought I was 31 but I measured wrong. So for your extra 1" you got more width.
With my tiny shoulders and skinny arms I don't look very athletic. I'm going to need more that style 15 to help me get back to that look I had before diagnosis. I'm trying though.
Edit:
I just checked your photos again. I now understand why yours are wider. My boobies are further apart (no cleavage) but that's how my old ones were… I have no problem with that. You do seem to have a more natural ptosis and not a full on top. I can't do the party trick as well as you either.0 -
I'm trying too, lago! I've always been "pear" shaped...no matter how thin I get...I don't think I'd ever look good in skinny jeans. I'm a bootleg cut girl. If you don't know whether or not you have a big butt...than you probably don't... now I KNOW that I have a big butt. There is no denying it.
I'm just starting the "couch to 5k" program in hopes of actually running a 5k this summer. Wish me luck... 'cause I'm gonna need it!

I wear straight GAP jeans but they look like skinny jeans on me BTW I edited my post above.0

Susan - Um....didnt we have a deal? I would do the Wooman (which BY THE WAY - not bragging or anything...was 52 MILES of biking!!!) and you were going to sign up for a run? I thought we had a deal?0
-
And is this going to become the 'who's butt is bigger' thread? LOL For a skinny chick, I definitely have a big butt - and who's implants look 'athletic?' I had the breasts of a body builder before and now they are um, slightly larger! LOL.

Kickit - one more thing.....this IS an awesome thread. When we were pretty low, this thread gave us a reason to joke around and feel normal for a while.....
Yes mine are HP - both of them. with a 475 I wear a 32DD in about 1/2 of my bra styles....32D in the rest. I think I look slightly larger than the photo SusanG posted in the beginning of this thread. But I do have to say that many of my friends who had the 450 HP are DD in 32 or 34. A lot of it has to do with the bra manufacturer. I have E's that are snug and DDs that I dont fill out. I prefer the molded cup bras because My two gals are shaped a little differently and the molded cup hides that. The natural side is conical and the reconstructed side is a little flatter/wider.

I'm right in between the both of you with the 15-421's. I am 5'5'' with a 31 rib and am hanging in at about 138. At first I thought I was too small but now I'm satisfied with my outcome. I look kind of scarey now, though, because I just had nips done and have guards attached to my skin. I would love to go down a few more pounds and the bright side is that it won't come of my chest first like in the past.

SuebeeBC I have a 32DD black smooth DNKY bra that I bought last summer. I've worn it twice. I feel the cups are too wide for me and I really am a 34D. It's a really nice bra and I think I paid maybe $5 for it at Marshalls. PM me your address and I will send it to you. Of course I will send it to you clean0
-
I dont mind if mine look too big but I am going for a medium, I told my PS dont wanna look like I have a cow udder transplant like a friend of mine did with her augmentation, shes happy and I never said a word but thats what I thought after she had it done. I was a small B and maybe wanna bump it up to a C, I dont wanna attract attention at the office but outside of the office..thats ok. I just want my swimsuit to fit. I had one fill and probably almost to where I was prior to surg. I am totally tired of these TE,they feel like what they are, stupid plastic with hairbrush nubbies on them! Burning and hurting 24/7 oh what fun!! And some stupid people say the boob job is a perk oh really? I'd like to duct tape their whole body for 3 months and see how they like that! Oh yeah, they got get a really bad sunburn first just so they can get the full experience of the "perk".

'I'd like to duct tape their whole body for 3 months and see how they like that! Oh yeah, they got get a really bad sunburn first just so they can get the full experience of the "perk".'
too funny. BTW I look a little bigger than that woman in the original post that is a "34D." I think I look bigger because she isn't wearing a shirt that is tight around the lower chest so it does hide some of the projection. I am now a 34D
0 -
Susan - Have been trying to get my thighs and rear to match my new top also! Do you have any problems finding bra's and is there a certain style bra that fits Style 15' s better? I am concerned about not filling out a bra, since the Style 15's don't have as much projection. I am so glad you are happy with your size. I have read the bra thread and been bra shopping in the past few months a bunch. I have quite a collection now and a wealth of knowledge thanks to Val.
