Throwing pain in the fire this morning. Progressively worse. Hells bells I'll never be able to identify pain associated with mets.. Too much there already.

Granny, I agree , The backlash re:pink seems to be working. Komens donations are down. Komen could redeem themselves if they could do more for assisting BC patients with money to pay bills. The Leukemia and Lymphoma society gives up to a 5000.00$ grant per year to be used for all kinds of bills. Take some of that 173 million for education(Komen) and reduce all those six figure salaries, there would be ALLOT of money to prevent BC sisters from going broke.0 -

Sas - My pink streaks are permanent dye. Had to have my hair bleached to get it. I want to look into the hair chalks. That would be fun. I am doing great now. All healed and back to normal after the hystie. It was a very difficult recovery - much harder than I thought it would be. Sure glad that is behind me. I've wanted to throw in that SE from Tamoxifen. Can't believe all the uterine issues I have had since starting that damn white pill. Why I continue to even take it at this point is beyond me. Maybe I should also throw in my stupidity?? That would get those flames going!0 -
JOJO...u will love the chalk....i only use the purple...the colors are wild....try it you will like it...and it washes right out.
im using the purple next month for pancreatic cancer...my girlfriend lost her 39 yr.old daughter to that dreadful disease..0 -

4sewwhat - Of course anyone can throw shit in the fire. We welcome anyone. This sure is the place to do it. The fire is magical and makes you feel so much better. Toss in emotions, the huge stack of paperwork, people, things, there is no limit. Come as often as you need to. Occasionally we do sit around the good fire and roast marshmallows.
Granny - Where do you get the chalk? I would do purple next month. My mom was taken by pancreatic cancer. Hers was very aggressive. When she was diagnosed, she didn't last long. Plus, you know purple is my favorite color.0 -

Jo - I've seen the hair chalk on Ulta's website but don't think I've ever seen in a store. But then I've never looked for it. Don't know what brand Firecracker is using but the Ulta's has good reviews. I love purple just don't have that much in my wardrobe.

Pancreatic cancer is the worst cancer...it's called the death sentence...it's aggressive,ugly,very painful and u no your gonna die..I hate to toot on the BCO but this is one cancer I'm very active in.??don't give $$$$but lots of support to my friend who never got over her baby girl dying of it.
You no purple is my favorite color too....

In the Pa the other day a man was killed when a deer hit his windshield, killed him, and the deer landed in the back seat of his SUV.....scary.....0 -
Pancreatic is what got my Mom also. Three months from diagnosis.
Luv, never mind the deer, how's the truck? We hit one once and I felt sorry for it until I saw the car. We didn't even know there were deer around there.0 -
Wren - it smashed all front end grill, bumper, right fender. Passenger door jammed. Radiator intact but doesn't look good. Towed to Ford dealer since DH thought the hood might not be secure. Two weeks to fix. Sweet lady stopped to see about me, took me home since DH was napping b4 going to work. Nice thing about a small town. I looked pretty harmless. I was on my way to Bible study and she was playing Mercy Me. Owns one of the little auto parts stores in town. I think if I'd hit it with my Equinox it might have been in car with me. I'm pretty sure I saw antlers.0 -

Jo, we have Sally's hair salon supply place, that's open to the public, don't know if its a national chain. "Hot Huez" has 4 colors and then "Beyond the Zone" has individual colors. Glad your recovered from the hyst. Pain in the belly to go through.0 -
I'm in for purple! A kid I used to babysit who is all grown up now and a good friend of mine with 2 young kids are both suffering with Pancreatic. It is exceptionally cruel.
Today I start with throwing my mortgage company into the fire along with intolerant, selfish people!

VR Hellooooooooo Don't understand your post, is it BIG BROTHER-Government? Any who was thinking of PM'ing you. You are such a good researcher. Do you have time to do a search Re: whether air travel can affect or cause LE?
Littlegoats--cool Sally's must be a national chain. Only think of getting the chalk. I got one liquid packet and it DOESN'T wash out well. Took about a week to wash out and I wash my hair daily.0 -
Sheila....Check out what I wrote on the Pinktober thread. Big Brother today is NOT just the government. It's who controls various messages. And when anyone has the ability from above to click "delete"....from someone below....it is Big Brother controlling the message. Did you not just get deleted???? How can one expect to have an enlightened society if Big Brother controls the message?

I have LE......wrap or sleeve absolutely needed to fly.........Won't cause it, but if you have it beware........never fly without using one or the other.......be prepared to be pulled aside by security......I was.......guess the thought I was harboring an oozie in my sleeve.....0 -
Sas, the studies that showed flying does NOT cause lymphedema were done on athletic women (I think they were rowers or something like that) who were in excellent physical shape and had great upper body strength. They were all flying to some competition, and none of them got LE. Big surprise (sarcasm emoticon needed here). When you look at women who are NOT topnotch athletes or in great shape, the risk of developing LE on a flight is greatly increased, and if you already have LE, you really MUST use sleeve or bandages or risk exacerbation. I cannot locate those studies right now ... will see if I can find them later. But you know as well as I do that study design is most important, and so using some common sense is also a good idea, despite what the studies show!
Tossing in LE and the complete inability of my LE therapists and fitter to find any solution to these miserable garments that seem to make it worse rather than better!!!! Despite those studies, I am wondering if I had just ignored it to begin with last May (when it was mid to late grade 1), taken it easy and not gotten so aggressive with it, maybe those fragile little lymph vessels would have done their work instead of being traumatized by the excessive compression from bandages and garments .... woke up this morning after wearing my night Tribute (which is supposed to help decongest the arm overnight) with more swelling than ever! ARRGGHHH!!! Frustration emoticon needed here. Basically no improvement since May, still mid to late grade 1 LE. Which doesn't really SOUND all that bad, especially to those women who have worse than this, but this is enough to keep me from doing most of my fun activities.0 -
VR where did I get deleted from? Confused? I saw your post on Pinktober, was confused there too. I tried to post on Komen's thread on FB b/c of Fredntan request. But a screen appeared and said I had to allow access to my Fb page and all my contacts. Well that didn't happen.
Thanks for reference to Kira. I will check in with her. My twin did develop LE within 24 hours of flying in Dec of 1996. Noticed that some here referenced having LE problems after air flight. Recently, someone else mentioned a problem after flying. Thought it time to try and get the scoop.

LInda, Chit(as dear Cami would say). I have names in mind that mentioned their problem over the time since I've been posting. Obviously, can't say them b/c of privacy issue. Would love to have research articles. I 've worn a sleeve only once for 3 hours. It caused nerve impingement of the ulnar nerve that took months to recover. That was the last of that. Thanks Sas0 -

To everyone on hair chalk. Along the way someone suggested using artist chalk--I remember a salesperson at target. They did it with their daughter. They were able to get a whole palette of colors for a lot cheaper. sassy0 -
Linds....got fed up too....garment did the same thing to me.......stopped using it, but to be honest.......mine got a tad worse, but I spent a fortune in co-pays to get this thing under control, and It got more and more frustrating, and expensive.......forget fitters....they screwed up 2 times, then I gave up on that bullshit too.....just hoping for the best now......actually I found my own LE.......2 weeks into Rads.....

luvmygoats - There is an Ulta store in my area. I get my other hair supplies there. I will look when I go next time. So glad you are alright- that is the most important thing. The deer will get the fire going and the truck can be fixed.
