Rebekah and Nick sent us a Christmas card and in it was SAVE THE DATE, Saturday, August 25th 2012, to Celebrate the Marriage of Nick Nebard and Rebekah Lazarou in Harrogate, Yorkshire, UK.
That gives me time to save up some dough. LOL

Deb - thanks, that sounds about right based on what the RO said.  Your pictures are so cute!  And your party sounds wonderful.  I hope you got at least a tiny share of that $100 million!  I miss holiday work parties, haven't been to one in years.  I remember when they were a big deal and were formal events.  As a stay at home mom (at the time) that was the dress-up highlight of my year...lol!

Joyce-Chicken brocc alfredo sounds wonderful, lucky you and michelle have DH that cook, mine does not, he tryes but i would rather he stick to what he knows and does best. Ha! I didn't go get an xray, it looked like the swelling went down some, so i will wait and see, although woke up this morning with new aches and pains, in my shoulders and my neck on one side, feel stiff.

Deb- The food at your party sounded good, love scallops wrapped in bacon- Glad you had fun

Michelle-I feel so bad that you have to drive the distance you do,,especially everyday, but i know it will go fast, if i lived close by i would come keep you company and take you everyday.

Liz- I think serving soup in the little gourds is an excellent idea and have seen them served that way, you could always serve a different soup in them

That was probably gross earnings or sales not profit.  I got a 3% raise in july, BFD.

I'm more excited about going away to spend Christmas with Rebekah and Nick.

Debbie:  You didn't mind the Mom-Docs.  I waited like you are doing.  I was in a boot for 3-4 weeks with an initial bad sprain that ended up a hairline fracture.  Get your butt in to the doc.  That said - I know we've all had enough of doc visits, but...  Jan

Minustwo- I appreciate the advice, and Im going to get it xrayed tomorrow, husband insist so i will, i hate hospitals, (as do we all) but i try to wait it out as long as i can but i will go.

Made a great cajun chicken and sausage  dinner tonight- green beans with brown butter

Debbie, glad your DH is insisting. Sometimes dr. Dad does know best. I think there is a consensus here that you need the X-ray. Hope it's negative though, but sometimes a break will give you less trouble than a sprain or torn ligaments. Let us know how it comes out.

Deborye, your party does sound wonderful. I am with you Michelle. I remember the office Christmas party used to be a big deal and so nice. I worked for a CPA firm and we had a great Christmas party and also an end of the tax season party. One of the partners was a member of the Union League downtown and we went there one Christmas and used to go to one of the partners country clubs for the nd of tax season. Where I work now, we have a catered tray of hot roast beef and hot pork sandwiches and lunch meats for a Christmas party. But we do get Christmas bonuses. Not for me this year though, haven't worked since May. Thinking about starting back in January. I will see if my echo on Monday is back to normal.

Also, very jealous of your trip to Bermuda. Have a great time.

    Carrie, how is your mom?

Bermuda is sounding pretty good right now!  My DH is grumpy also...asked him to help me move some furniture I am donating to the salvation army, and you would have thought I  asked him to build me a house.  I think he is having trouble parting with stuff...on the edge of being a hoarder! lol

My mom is getting a pacemaker today as her rhythm wasnt just irreg, it was stopping for a few seconds!  YIKES  hopefully this will correct it and get her home.

Laurie  I am as behind as you are, really need to get some shopping done.  Want to get some cookies baked before the kids get home.  I am not stressing about it though, my kids are adults and understand.

I really need to at least get some food for the house...havent even had time to do that. I am feeling like fish of some kind. Any good fish recipes?

i sure wish somebody would cook for me tonite.. I'd like a steak.  I am ready for a nap and it is 8.43 in the morning.  Yesterday was exhausting.  I think I'll clean up the kitchen, cut my husband's hair and lie down.. i have lessons this afternoon.

    sound like a plan?

Kay-Hope your echo comes back normal  Monday! ;--))))

Carrie- I have been keeping your mom in my prayers, seems it takes a bit to get the heart under control but then she will hopefully be feeling great!- I have been stuck on cod lately, but i usually do a fast wine, capers and lemon butter sauce or if you like fryed, i use the krustez pancake mix, it make a great batter for fish, and veggies too.

Apple- Hope you get some rest today.

Apple- sounds like a plan to me!  Hope you got your nap in, I just woke up from mine.

Carrie- The way I do cod or scallops is I make a crumb topping out of sauteed butter, garlic, minced onion and crushed ritz crackers.  I put the seafood in a dish with a little EVOO and a few pats of butter, put the crumb topping over it and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes until flaky.  I hope your moms surgery went well today and that this works well for her too.

Deb- Yay to Bermuda!  And to the save the date for your daughters wedding.  I can't wait to watch all the plans unfold!  It sounds like there is a lot of excitement and joy in your home this season.  It's wonderful.

Debbie- I hope things went ok with your x ray today and that they don't find anything more serious than a sprain.  Glad you decided to go get it checked out.

I hope every ones DH's are done being cranky.  I think there was something going on with the moon because everyone in my house was cranky yesterday.  Kids were horrible, I was a mad woman and DH came home and joined us.  The antibiotic they had put me on made me sooooo sick to my stomach I was fighting to hold it together all day.  I didn't take any today and it's much better but not gone.  They called me in a new prescription that I will pick up tomorrow.  Last night I made chicken with cucumber and avocado salsa with cous cous.  I have no idea what I am going to make for tonight.  I met a good friend for lunch with the boys at Olive Garden and am still full.  I had planned on cooking a ham with cheese and rice but think I'll save that for a night when I am hungrier and feeling a bit better.

Michelle- I hope your drive to and from rads went well, despite the rain.

Carrie - my mom has a pacemaker and it has worked perfectly.  Joycek's dad has one, too.  It's pretty common.  I love swordfish grilled with lemon and dill.  Really, you can do that with any fish.

Apple - rest, my friend, and let your family fight over who's doing dinner tonight!

Debbie - did you get that xray yet?

Seaside, in other words you are enjoying a couple hours of peace!  Enjoy the movie, it's one of my faves too!

Home from #12 and dinner with my DS and DH.  Just a little tired tonight, no surprise really.  Tomorrow night we are meeting JoyceK and her DH for a holiday celebration dinner.  I'm so looking forward to it!  My treatment is at 4, so we should be back in time for our 6:30 date.

    Michelle,

    Yep....lol.....

I am watching the movie on AMC and every so often thay are putting a caption at the bottom of the screen with a bit of trivia about how and where the scene was filmed... They just had one that said

the actor playing the advisor to the judge in the case against Chris Kringle was William Frawley... Fred Mertz from I Love Lucy.... I can't believe I never noticed that....

    Debbie:  And ?????

Dinner was a dozen fried shrimp, hush puppies, french fries & cole slaw.  Great bus trip with Harris Cnty Precinct 3 seniors program.  $10.00 for a trip to Galveston (60 miles to the south) to see the gorgeous Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens and then a ride on the paddlewheel boat.  We paid for our own dinner - under $10.00.  Nice evening.  Nice not to drive.

minustwo- You make me laugh- Ok so i finally went to the ER today and i had to wait 3 hours, was not thrilled about that and that is why i did not want to go, but i have atorn  ligament and all they did was wrap in in a ace bandage which i already had. They told me to keep it up and not walk on it for a while and keep ice on it, i had already been doing all that, so basicaly it was a waste of time, but i guess at least i know it was not broke or fractured. but thanks for caring ;-)))

Went to a ugly sweater christmas party tonight, at least thats what it was suppose to be, the person who won had lights all over them and was more artistic and awesome than ugly, i told them i was ugly and should of won, they laughed at me but still did not win. Oh well! Had a great time.

Michelle and Joy  have a great dinner, with great company.

Yes TGIF  hopefully we will get mom home today.  supposed to get some snow tomorrow and dont want to do the long drive in the snow.

Debbie  so glad everything is kind of ok with the ankle, I know its a pain in the arse, but better to know.  Funny on the ugly sweater party...must have been fun.  I was googling sweaters to get for my DD for christmas and you cant beleive how many "ugly Christmas sweater" sites popped up.

Its Friday...so we will probably do something out tonight, but if not I have a pizza in the freezer for backup.

Joyce- I wish we did have an urgent care here but don't think we do. Have a fun night tonight with michelle and her DH (I know you will)

Carrie- There is a lady that makes ugly sweaters for christmas and she said she can't keep up with them, it's a big thing but had never heard of it until this year. So glad your mom is coming home today!

I love reading all about everyone here too, I remember when i first started reading this thread everyone just stuck to the recipes, then we all became friends and then started sharing what is going on in our lives, and I just love that!

Ducky- Your right it dosnt get much better than that, i miss my daughter so much she lives in georgia at fort stewart so i havnt seen her in 2 years but we talk everyday.
