Sounds like everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Laurie...those boys are adorable...brings back memories! Apple...glad you were able to have a nice Easter and a good talk with your sis. That is so important to make things right...my younger sister passed at 55, but we were able to touch base and connect before that which I am forever grateful.
Joyce...glad you tests went well, and debbie, your dinner sounded like fun! It's not always about the food, but about the friends you are having it with! Bedo...glad you were able to spend time with your DD. Hope she is feeling better. Michelle...glad you got some beach time!
Our dinner was awesome! Weather was awesome! The little grands had a blast with their baskets, and the two year old loved her first egg hunt, with help from her 9 year old cousin! The 11 month old made a really big mess with her chocolate bunny (her first) and loved it. We have absolutely zero leftovers, which is good because we're leaving on vacation on Wednesday and I want a clean refrigerator! The older kids either watched the Masters with my boyfriend who was glued to the set, or looked at old photograph albums and laughed at themselves when they were young. We haven't done that for a while, but I came across an old album the other day and kept it out for them to see. Lots of good memories! Boy am I tired today...must have been running on adrenalin yesterday, and lifting those 25 pound grands for hugs and kisses has taken its toll on my back and shoulders...oh well...it was worth it!
Have a good day everyone!

I copy/pasted the recipe but it didnt lay out how it looked from my page hope its easy to follow.
Kaara- Sounds like you had a fun day. Hope you have a fun and safe time on your vacation.
Laurie- I have to make note to myself "Dont ever watch The Big C when DH is sleeping" I had to put my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing out loud. Just love that show. So does it come on every Sunday?
I woke up coughing and sneezing and my chest feels congested why does it always seem like you get sick right when the weather gets better but you cant go out and enjoy it because your sick uggh!

Kaara- So glad it sounds like you had a perfect day!! Where are you going on vacation?
Debbie- It is on every Sunday night. That is why I love the show, it deals with such deep emotions at times and then has you ready to pee your pants! When she went to the Dr and got good news and the son jumped up and cheered and hugged her I started to cry. But the last line in the show made you lol, when Paul says "it was different this time....." it's a little R rated so I'll stop there!
We stayed home and did nothing today. I have a pot roast in the crock pot which smells amazing, it's making me hungry.
So last Tuesday I got and get my teeth cleaned, x rays etc. No cavities no problems. Now I think I have an infection in my gum from the cleaning!! Grrrrrr. Now, the question is do I call the dentist or keep trying to heal myself? I have taken both of the extra antibiotics that I take before a cleaning...they have helped, but it's not cleared up. Stupid dentist.

Just got back from vacation on Friday. We were in Williamsburg, VA. We had a great time and a great holiday weekend. Sounds like everyone else did too!
Debbie, really sorry about your nephew. I will keep you in my thoughts. Laurie, your boys are adorable!
Probably going to be having some kind of turkey leftovers for dinner for a while.0 -
Laurie- I cryed too during that part, and i thought it was so funny when the dog got a hold of the heart zapper lol- I guess i shouldnt say to much more in case someone is still going to watch. Oh sorry about your infection i wonder if gargling salt water would help? Yes, stupid dentist!!!
Kay- Glad you had a great time in VA, isnt that where Michelle went? Now i kind of wish i would of made dinner last night i would of had either turkery or ham leftovers.

My cousin Sue is about 48 years old, she was in a very bad car accident when she was 16. She was ejected out the passenger window and the car landed on top of her and was without oxygen for a short period of time. She is on all sorts of meds for seizers amongst other things and has short term memory lost. My poor aunt has to help her with practically everything.0

My aunt is an 8 year colon cancer survivor stage 3, also uterine cancer but that was caught so early she did not need any other treatment, just a hysterectomy.

WOw, Deb, what a family of survivors! And I am impressed with your Easter bread!
Laurie, the boys ' photo is adorable. I hope you get over that infection without having to get back to that dentist chair....too much bad karma for this year's visits.
Bedo, caring thoughts to you and DD.
Joyce, so glad to see your post and that your MRI result was good. Yes, the healthcare "industry" is a far cry from its original mission. Ben Franklin (who supported the establishment of the first hospital) must be rolling over in his grave!
I must see if we get showtime to check out The Big C. Thanks for the reminder, Laurie.
I hope this post gets posted....have tried twice tonight with no success.....0 -
Laurie: Have you tried flossing really well around the infected area? Sometimes a little food gets below the gum line after a cleaning, or worse, a piece of tarter that broke off during the cleaning process was pushed down and is causing the gum to be inflamed. That happened to me and I had to make a trip back for add'l cleaning...gurrr! They were using that water pic to clean before they used the instruments and I think that pushed it down. I told her never to use that on me again!
We headed to Nevada where my boyfriend is going to play in a golf tournament with his cousin and his wife and I are going to do spa days. Then we're driving to Scottsdale Az for a week in a timeshare that we traded our ski week for. Should be nice this time of year.
Debbie: Hope you feel better soon!

Deb- Your bread came out looking great! What a sad story about your cousin but im glad she survived such a terrible accident. A very nice picture of them all.
Kaara- Hope you have a safe and fun trip to nevada and scottsdale i love scottsdale i lived there for a short time with ex hubby and have an aunt and cousins there its just beautiful. Enjoy that spa!

Michelle- Are you back from your trip yet? I wasnt sure when you were returning.
Bedo- How are you and DD doing? Still keeping her/you in my prayers!!
Fixed Hamburger patties for dinner and asperagus with an aoli sauce- Even though it was organic and suppose to be slime free just couldnt help thinking about it. It kind of ruins the dinner a little bit for me.

Debbie: Thanks for the clam chowder recipe.
I've been having trouble accessing the discussion threads too. Not sure how I finally got here tonight, but it wasn't from my bookmarked site.
Easter dinner was sushi. Yum.

that chowder recipe is very like mine.. that cake looks fit for a king, and Deb the pic of your cousin made me cry. what a blow to the family.
me, i went back to bed at 8 AM yesterday and slept till 1, took another nap around 4. Some one made me a casserole, my piano student is not coming today.. I'll take another day off. might hire a day laborer to help me finish the planting.

Apple- I hope that after some extra sleeping maybe you will start feeling better, that is my hope and i pray for you every day! Maybe somewhere hidin in that casserole is lobster. lol!0 -
Apple: You're doing exactly what you need to do...rest! Easter was probably a little too much for you with all those people. I know I was tired and I didn't have nearly that many.
Sending you prayers and positive healing energy!

Apple when your body tells you to rest you should rest, no guilt allowed. I still nap every once in awhile....just because I can. Maybe when this weather gets back to being warm we will perk up.
I have the Easter bloats from too much ham....arrrg drank about 10 glasses of water to flush my system but then I was just up to pee all night long. My mom did a great job with making the ham and sent lots home with me. She is finally feeling "like a new woman" her words, and is back to driving and going to cardiac rehab, and back to eating, she lost sooo much weight and had to buy new clothes.
Today I walked about 4 mi with my sis...felt good..finally got the doc to say it was ok. I am certainly not getting any thinner sitting here every day.
Tonight is chef salad with garlic bread, was thinking spaghetti because it is so cold out but changed my mind.
Debbie what exactly is aoli sauce? We did burgers last night also and I sauteed some onions and mushrooms to go on top with swiss cheese...I like to eat mine with no bun.
Kaara Enjoy your vacation...I love Arizona...Sedona.

Carrie- you made me giggle on the 10 glasses of water and getting up to pee:) So glad to hear your mom is feeling like a new woman! It must be wonderful to see.
Apple- I agree, no guilt allowed. I don't know how you keep up the pace that you do. I am not going through any of the things that you are and I take a nap almost everyday! Hope you are feeling well.
Bedo- thinking of you
Michelle- we haven't heard from you which means you are having fun, yay!
Dinner was quick and boring- cheeseburgers. I too did the mushroom and onion with swiss. It was good the kids ate happily which was the main goal in my book for tonight.

Carrie- So glad your mom is feeling better! Wow, 4 miles, good for you!
Laurie- If the kids are happy then mom is happy lol! Its not just happy wife is a happy life but when the kids are happy mom is happy so it makes everyone happy!! Ok, im rambling.

Carrie- Im sorry i was just about to go make dinner when i remembered you asked about Aioli sauce. I usually make my own but i bought this at a gourmet store i think stoneybrook is the brand and very good a little tarter than mine. But what it is, is a sauce is you didnt mind the raw eggs. is egg yolk, lemon juice, garlic, dill or made with mayonaise. evoo, garlic, lemon juice, i make this one with mayoniaise for my artichoke hearts i put lots of garlic powder in it, for the egg yolk one i use it on veggies and meat, almost like a bernaise or hollendaise sauce.

Hi everyone! Just got home about 30 minutes ago, so I'm just checking in for now. I'll post more tomorrow. We had a good time and had an uneventful drive home.

i do take a nap of sorts daily.. but get up at 5 to do the company business (computer stuff.. glad I can still do it..) run a kid to school, do a little grocery shopping - clean, house and garden vigorously till 12, wind down and nap from 1 to 3. suits me fine.
except i have so many things to plant .. and no one does it right except for me. eek. Our 2.4 acre property was 'abandoned' for 8 years.. ( it will be 2 years, this August) and needs a lot of tender loving care. up to me to plant the flowering bushes and such. knockout roses are so fantastic. The six I planted last year are so vigorous and perfect.
This year i am planting lilacs, (2 to go) 100 summer bulbs, 3 hibiscus, a mock orange, 2 blue berry bushes..100 onions (all yet to do). I just need a strong helper. my kids are ok sometimes if they are ever free. We have deer so I am not even planting a vegetable garden but may do tomatoes in buckets on my deck.. at least I'll try. Our winter was so mild, all the spices came back.. perfect and already nicely vigorous. my asparagus bed and rhubarb survived he drought. YAY! I am actually earning a bit of money now.. and can pay someone. My husband will NOT follow directions.. he uses every minute to save money.. and one cannot save money in planting.
maybe some pics soon.. it's really a cool place. altho my husband put up a big SHED, as big as Kemper arena in the back (I could kill him). He is still doing drainage issue landscaping so I am somewhat hindered in what I can plant.
We have about 7 gorgeous Catalpas, 20 walnuts that form a bit of a windbreak, a big, flat back field.. maybe I'll do sunflowers because I definitely don't want to mow. I don't think I should .. it's too bumpy for someone with brainmets.

Holy Moley Apple! I hope you hire someone! That is SO much work for anyone to try and tackle. Is there a local college near by that you could post a flier for help? Then you can delegate how you want things done and pick the smaller projects you feel like doing? I had to smile at your nap time:) That is my nap time too! I do it out of habit I think....I started napping when DS#1 was 1 1/2 and I was pregnant with DS#2. Then I kept napping because I was up with a baby once DS#2 was born and chasing a toddler all day. Then I was diagnosed with BC when DS#2 was 4 months old, BMX, so I kept napping. Now I think I nap because I like it and am used to it. I am going to be screwed in a year or so when no one but me wants to nap
