Love the polka dots, Michelle! Sending good thoughts your way for tomorrow...

We had a lovely meal and walk around the Navy Yard area of Charlestown....really quaint....even the Tedeschi's store had a lovely small black sign with gold lettering in the same style as the historic buildings....funny to see that.

Will post a picture tomorrow when I get on my computer.

Oh my gosh Michelle, the knee cap has got to be painful. hope she heals quickly with no pain. Your dress looks very cute! good luck tomorrow!

Laurie- I feel so bad for you that you have to go through this, i have an aunt and a very good friend that have anxiety attacks and it really can be debilitating. Don't know if thats really whats going on with you, but hope they find out soon so you can feel better.

Carol- Have you tried changing your meds? I know my DH had to change his twice before it made a difference.

Sorry for those i missed, im so tired and am going to bed

Debbie, I'm on a new med prescribed by the cardio dr.  It's not any more effective than the old med.  I'm thinking about going off the arimidex for a week just to see if it's the culprit.  SEs are elevated BP and cholesterol (among a long list of other SEs).  Since starting Arimidex, I've gone on cholesterol med.  I also am finding it impossible to lose 12 extra lbs. gained since starting Arimidex 2 plus years ago.

Michelle, hoping for good news from you.

I'm off to walk.  Then the Echo apptment at 9:20.

I'm using a new laptop with the latest Windows program and everything looks fine on this new format, except I have a wide gray margin on the left-hand side.  Other than that, I'm getting used to the new look.

Carole  Where are you departing to?  Good to get that all straightened out before you go...dont want any problems on the road.  When they changed my BP meds, I found that it took some time to start working.  How do you feel?  I can feel when mine gets elevated.

Michelle beautiful pic and love the dress, Your hair has gotten so long. I should change my avatar as my hair is now down to the bottom of my neck.

Did pork chops on the grill....no steaks at BJs, all sold out.  but found a carribean mango sauce to go on them and they were delicious...my DH ate 2! After seeing my mom yesterday we went boating, just me and my DH ( which is unusual, as we usually have a crowd) and he brought a sub from subway for our lunch. Its the best I am gonna get from him as a cook LOL  but it was just so darn relaxing, just the two of us!

Michelle:  Love your hair!  So sorry about your DD...hope she is feeling better by now.  That is a great photo.  We took some as well at Mother's Day brunch, but don't know how to post.

Carole:  It's good that you're going through the heart workup...if that shows nothing, then it is probably the Arimidex and there are others you can switch to.  Not worth risking the good health you have.

Laurie:  Hope your PVC's are becoming more manageable.  Did they give you a beta blocker to calm them down?  That should help some.

Deb:  That lobsta roll sounds good.  We tried one when we were in Maine last year.

Carole - that grey margin on the left will soon be filled with advertising and other "stuff". I am not crazy about some of the layouts, but the posting/reading format works for me.

No word yet. I called my mo this morning so she knows I am waiting for her call. The longer it goes the more I am worried. Can't help thinking that her nursex would have called by now if everything was ok...

Michelle:  Sending prayers that all will be well with your scans!  It would seem to me that if there was anything wrong they would call right away, but because all is ok it isn't a big priority (for them).

Michelle- I agree with Kaara, usually no news is good news. although I am getting anxious where we haven't heard from you.

Where I never made it grocery shopping last week I am trying to scrounge up something for dinner.  We are going to have grilled chicken wraps with whats left of the veggies.  Boys will have the grilled chicken with some pasta.

Kaara- BTW, since I started taking the probiotics the PVC;s have been much better.  Now I go days without them and just have episodes.  Now I'll have to call you Dr Kaara :)

    Michelle..... Hope all is ok!

I had a nice day yesterday. Got up and made a nice breakfast. Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, hash browns, cut up fresh fruit, had cantalope, strawberries, bananas, apples, (a little semichocolate cream cheese for the fruit) banana blueberry nut muffins and OJ. Was very good. Then we drove an hour to get DH shoes he needed for work, then met friends and had a nice lunch. then went to a couple wine tasting places so fun but only sipped didnt want to overindulge. Then we all went to a casino (not DH's) got home really late but had a great time.

I dont mind the empty grey box to the left, rather have that then the soon to come ad's!

Hi everyone!  Just checking in because I know you are all waiting...and unfortunately, we shall continue to wait.  I was sure I'd hear today, called the doctor's office at 8:30 this morning to make my point that I would be suffering scanxiety until I got news.  Still no call, and I'm not expecting one this late, so we shall continue the vigil.

I was busy all day with my daughter.  She lives about 35 minutes away, I was at her place just before 9 this morning.  I took her to work and we were there for a couple hours, then we tried to pick up a copy of her xrays but the facility's duplicator wasn't working.  So we went to lunch, then went to the main hospital and got the CD with the xrays.  She had an appointment with an orthopedist surgeon at 3, so we drove from Mancester to Nashua for that, then I took her home, got her settled, walked her dog and played with him for a few minutes.  Then I drove home.  Phew, what a busy day!!!

Debbie - your day yesterday sounds delightful!

Laurie - glad you are feeling better...thanks, Dr. Kaara!

Not sure what we're doing for dinner.  I told DH that since I'm a stress "non-eater" I'd be happy with popcorn.  I'm sure that won't work for him, though.  If we hadn't eaten pizza on Saturday, I'm sure that would be his go-to dinner.  He's stressing worse than me... I got a call from my mom's doctor to schedule an appointment.  Both my mom's doctor and my MO have last names that begin with W.  When mom's doctor's nurse called, she asked for me and he asked the nurse if it was good news or not so good news.  She told him she had to talk to me directly to schedule an appointment, so he gave her my cell phone number and he immediately went into panic mode.  When I was talking to the nurse about my mom, she mentioned that my DH was very upset about my mom, so I explained that we were waiting for PET scan results for me.  So she said I'd better call him right away.  Poor thing, he had assumed the worst!  Then he said, "oh yea, she did say Ward, not Walsh!"  Good thing I called him, he might have had a heart attack before I got home!

    Michelle,

Sometimes no news is just that, no news, and nothing more ominous than that... As I just experienced with my mammo/US where I got called back in to the US room because the radiologist wanted more US images of one area and came down and did it himself....

They usually are very good about calling within a couple of days so when a week went by and no call my mind did wander to the dark side but, turns out my BS has to sign off on the reports before calls are made and she was out for a couple days... They were just behind...

Thinking of you and sending you peaceful thoughts!

PS... Pretty pic of you and the girls! So sorry about DDs accident but sounds like she's in good hands now!

Oh michelle your poor husband, what he must of been going through!! Dang it when they make you wait like that!!!

  • LuvRVing
    LuvRVing Member Posts: 2,409

I know, Debbie, the wait is so hard!  I did have a thought that my MO might have requested my Dana Farber RO to review the scan.  Who knows if he's even in the country at the moment.  I will be patient.

Michelle  It's sooo hard to be patient!  Good for you...keeping busy....but what are the rest of us supposed to do?

I worked so hard in the yard today, we will do leftovers for dinner.

Debbie that sounds like an amazing breakfast.  We (meaning me) just made scrambled eggs and toast, my Dh was asking "what, no meat?"  This is part of the reason I dont lose weight...ha ha gotta blame someone.

    Laurie,

Glad that you are doing better!

    Debbie,

I want to come to your house for breakfast!!! Everything you make always sounds so good!! I saw that chocolate cream cheese at the store.... That could be dangerous to have around! Sounds like you had a good weekend despite the change in plans! How is Chuck feeling?

  • Lacey12
    Lacey12 Member Posts: 2,895

Seaside, that is so true....no news is just that....no news....unfortunately one needs to be totally "left brained" to feel that since the right side of our brain is too busy reading every anxious possibility into the no news yet wait time.

Michelle, You've been in my thoughts all day.....I even broke my own no phone rule at work to at least check out your post.... How awful for your poor DH to have that miscommunication at such a critical time. Yikes! This is a crazy time for you guys. Hope you can get some relief via good news tomorrow.

Michelle- Carries right, what are we suppose to do? Well, i will tell you let us do the worrying and you sit back and relax lol! I wish we could take all they worrying for you!!!

Carrie-My DH is the same way he wants his meat! If i make pasta he does not seem to miss it as much though.

Seaside- Warning- Do not buy the flavored cream cheese they are sinful!!! LOL! funny you should mention it while im reading your post im eating some popcorn with a little bowl of white choc and semi sweet choc cream cheese. I was sitting here thinking while eating it, hmmm wonder if the white chocolate cream cheese would be on my macaroni salad, honest i was! As silly as it might sound i might take a table spoon of macraroni salad and a dab of the white one and mix just to satisfy my curiousity. LOL! I wanted the dark chocolate one but they did not have any, i will not buy it if i see it now, too too many calories and hard to resist.- Chuck is doing ok, he still has a lot of the same SE he had but starting to get a little used to it. Thanks for asking ;-))

Debbies, your breakfast is making me hungry. It has all the stuff I admit that I really miss sometimes. Growing up in Denmark, I do love potatoes, for example.

Laurie:  That's good news about the PVC's getting better.  I tell you, that prilosec is bad stuff.  I think mine started while I was self medicating on it for stomach issues.  Just keep taking the probiotic as it will help to straighten out your stomach problems and restore good bacteria to the system.  Also try cutting back a little on sugar and white carbs.  Mine are almost nonexistant since I did that.

Michelle:  How annoying that you didn't get a call back, if only to tell you that they do not have anything to tell you because the results are not in.  I would be on the phone first thing today bugging them until I got an answer.  It isn't fair to keep you waiting this way.

Today I go for my first diagnostic mammo since my surgery, so I'll be playing the waiting game as well.  I'm not so worried because I had a thermography that was clear about a month ago.  It will be a test to see how well the thermography works.  In the future I'll be alternating the two.

  • LuvRVing
    LuvRVing Member Posts: 2,409

Kaara - good luck with the thermography today.  It's always nice to have a test that isn't going to cause you any stress!

When I call my MO's office, I now get an answering service (regardless of the time of day) who takes all your information and states that you'll get a call back within four hours.  I think only doctors now get through immediately.  I called yesterday at 8:30 a.m.  So they blew that one.  With my last PET, I had the results in less than 24 hours, so that is why I was so sure I'd get a call yesterday if not sooner.  I'll be calling again at 8:30.

Last night I had half of a Chipotle bowl (white rice, black beans, tomato salsa, corn salsa, lettuce, and guac) that was leftover in my fridge from Saturday.

Tonight I will have a vegan "bacon" burger and I'll bake some frozen French fries to go with it. Wish I could find some vegan Swiss "cheese" to make a mushroom melt burger, but oh well.

My dear sisters - I know you are all waiting to hear from me.  I did get the news...it's bad news all the way around.  I have mets to both lungs, some additional nodes (both axilla, supraclavicular and mediastinal), and quite likely in the liver.

I don't have to tell you what we are going through right now.  I will be back to you all later.  I do have an appointment with Dr. Wendy Chen at Dana Farber in Boston on Friday afternoon.  At least they are not wasting any time, neither is this cancer.  It is extremely aggressive.  I am more than a little scared.  But I plan to throw the book at it.
