No news Debbie, and I hope I don't hear until Monday, unless it's good news. My scan happened around 12:30 (by the time they injected the glucose and I sat for an hour).  Then when I got in there, I had a coughing fit...LOL!  No reason, don't have a cold but I got a tickle that couldn't be ignored.  The tech got me some water, we waited a couple minutes and she finished the test.  I have the CD and I looked at it on my PC, but I can't see anything obvious.  Sorry your dad isn't coming for the weekend.  Freeze what you can and enjoy the fact that you've got plenty of food for a few days.

Debbie, sorry about your dad cancelling on you.  Seems mighty inconsiderate to me.

I had a good day.  Played golf with two women friends and afterwards went to Macaroni Grill for lunch.  Had a panini sandwich with tomato, fresh mozzarella and pesto.  It was delicious.  Came with a small caesar salad.  I ate half of the sandwich.  But the calorie count was still probably too high.

For dinner we had seared catfish fillets, chopped salad with napa cabbage, tomato, cucumber, salad olives and onion (for dh).  We also had some tiny immature carrots that I blanched in salted water and sauted in EVOO and a bit of butter.

Michelle, I'm expecting good news on Monday.  Your Paris trip sounds delightful.

Laurie, hope you had a good day.

Wishing everyone a good Friday night.

We just got home a few minutes ago, went out for margaritas and dinner after the Honors Reception Ceremony.  So, it turns out that she was tops in her major!  She didn't even know, because she's been working since December when she finished her degree.  I think she may have missed some of the "buzz" around graduation.  So she was absolutely clueless that she had the highest GPA! The professor in the picture is the chair of the Accounting College and he was terrific! Graduation is tomorrow at 11, I'm so excited and so proud!!!

Carole - we had a couple of Macaroni Grills near us in the Kansas City area and we liked to go there once in a while.

    Michelle,

From someone who went back to school at 40, having the highest GPA in your major is such an honor!!! Congrats to DD!!! Enjoy this weekend!!

Well crap Debbie.. That sucks!! I know it doesn't help with the disappointment of a canceled visit but maybe you can freeze some of the food... If I lived closer, I would gladly fome over and help you out by eating some of that yummy sounding food!

How very wonderful, Michelle. Congratulations in a big way! Have a great day tomorrow! I'm so happy for you and your daughter. Savor it!

Debbie, I am so sorry about your disappointment re: your Dad's cancelled visit. Would you have some "spontaneous" friends who could come to enjoy the non-freezable foods with you, so all that hard work is not wasted? I am so impressed with the effort you put into this. Do see if you can make a Plan B to raise your spirits a bit. You are a good daughter!

    Laurie, I suspect you are back in the groove already with the boys. I think of you when I am with my little preschool next door neighbor boys and their mom. Action galore! I hope you can take it a little bit easy. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}

I wonder if the mods knew they would shake the world with their site modifications?! ;)

Got in from work very late and was not in the mood for our usual Friday pizza, so had deli night....roast beef and swiss sandwiches with arugula and horseradish mayo on sour dough bread, with lentil/kale soup that was delicious the 6th day!

Michelle- What a wonderful surprize for your DD and i would be so proud too! She is a georgous girl, just like her mommy! ;-)))

Carol- I love macaroni grill, they have one in Hawaii, we ate there all the time, love there deep fried macaroni, fatning but ohhh so good!

Seaside- You went back to school at 40? I'm so impressed! I was going to freeze the food but my dads wife said they may come tomorrow ( i doubt it) but will wait until the morning and if they havnt called i will freeze it so next trip they make here i won't have much cooking to do. Any one know if the banana muffins will freeze well? I might just have to eat them if not!

Lacey- Aw, thanks! I try to be, i love my dad and want him to be happy! My friends either are out of town for mothers day or having family visits for the week-end.  I agree, things sure have slowed down here since the new face of BCO! Too bad!

Hey Seaside, she looks pretty young for 40...LOL!  That's because she's 31 and still getting carded every time she orders an adult beverage  Kiss  My two boys are over 40, this one is our "baby."  But still, quite an honor.  There were a couple of graduates from the online/continuing education school who were definitely over 40 who took top honors in their majors.  No doubt, adults typically don't waste their education dollars!

Lacey - no doubt the mods are going nuts.  I do think some posters have made awful comments.  If you don't like something, offer some constructive suggestions.  I would like the Active Topics to be in table style.  Otherwise, I don't think the format is that bad.

Michelle:  I know you are very proud of your daughter..what an honor!

Debbie:  I know how you feel about your dad cancelling out on you...that happened to us one Thanksgiving.  We stayed in NC because all the kids thought it would be nice to have dinner there with the cooler weather and all, so I planned, bought food, etc. and in the end they all had reasons why they couldn't make it:(  I was so upset that I gave the food to a shelter and BF and I went out that day.  Never again!  Now I make dinner in Florida where they are close by.

Carole:  Sounds like you are sticking to your diet.  I watched 20/20 last evening and the last segment was one on how the wealthy diet...they still have their champagne and wine and chocolate...just not very much.  It stressed not to have any carbs with dinner...ever, and no fruit in the morning because it spikes your blood sugar.  Twice a week your are allowed to eat anything you want in moderation.  Now if you want to go to the spa and do the plan, it costs $5,600 for the week!  Of course, that includes meals, massages..the works.  It better!

Heloo everyone,  really had some catching up to do here.

Laurie  So sorry you are having these issues!!  Hope everything gets resolved soon.  I would love to spend some time learning some relaxing and calming techniques for when I get anxious. Never had an issue till BC.

Debbie Sorry your Dad had to cancel, but like Michelle said...now your cooking is done for awhile, you can have a nicely stocked freezer.

Michelle Congrats on your daughter grad. My sons graduation was soo much fun...a great 3 days spent with him and my daughter.  I made sure I told both of my kids just how proud I was of them....and happy that they are now officially adults and off the parent payroll!! My son also got hired full time as an engineer at the company he was interning at.....and although I am glad he has a job, kinda sad as it is in Ohio.

In Ohio we went to the famous Swensons that was featured on "The Chew" where they bring the food to your car.  the burgers and fries are amazing!! It tasted like they put sugar in the meat...it had a sweetness to it. the kids actually run to your car and back, we timed him and although we did not get served in under 8 min as they advertised, it was more like 12min.  they weather was so awesome that everyplace we ate, we sat outside. We had drinks on a deck that overlooked the Akron Aeos baseball field and watched a game for free. Lots of good eating...now back to reality.

    Happy Mothers Day to all!

    Lol... Michelle,

The went back to school at age 40 person was me after I got layed off from the computer industry... Your DD certainly doesn't look 40! And you're right. When you take on that challenge later in life you're not messing around... You give it your all!!

Michelle- Wow!!!!  Congrats on your daughters success!!  You must be spilling over with pride.

Debbie- I am sorry your dad cancelled on you.  It is frustrating when you put so much work and thought into things and get disappointed.  I hope you enjoy the weekend anyway.

Carrie sounds like you had a great time, so happy for you.

I am trying to get back in the swing of things, I still don't feel great.  The more I think about what the ER Dr said on my release the angrier I get.  He never even brought up the PVC's and made it sound like I was wrought with anxiety and that was my only issue.  Of course I was so out of sorts at the moment I didn't make heads or tails of it and now I can't put my 2 cents in.  Grrr.

We are headed to a birthday party down the street for a neighbors child for noon time.  Both of my boys look like hell, I think it is allergies.  I called the mom and suggested we skip it and she was dissapointed and really wants us there cold/allergies whatever so we are going.

Enjoy the day everyone and sorry if I missed anyone!

Lacey- Oh that would of upset me especially on Thanksgiving. I bet the shelter really appreciated that though!

Carrie- I saw the segment too on the swensons place it looked like yummy food. Sounds like a great time you had wish my DH liked to do picnics and just sit and eat out in the sun like that, he dosnt even like camping, his idea of camping is in a motorhome. Glad you checked in. Happy Mothers day to you too!

Laurie- I know how frustrating that is when you are so upset that you didn't get to ask the right questions, its happened to me too. I really get uspset when the Dr's cant figure something out so they make things up as they go along or act like its in your head. Of course you would have anxiety over what you are going through but they need to know that this is real and not somthing to take lightly. Thats why i dont care for ER docs they are not thural enough. I hope you start feeling like your old self again soon and they fiqure this out. Glad you are not letting it slow you down though. (((((Hugsss))))))

Happy Mother's Day to everyone.  And I hope those who have immediate health issues are feeling better.  I don't live live in the same state with my only son, and he's working, but he sent a great card.

I'm flying to Oklahoma in the morning to sit with a friend who is dying of Parkinson's Disease.  Hospice says 1 week to 1 month.  From what I'm hearing, I'm not sure he'll even know me, but I think his son's will appreciate the break to be with their own Mother.

Good lasagna dinner tonight at a friends.  Salad, garlic bread, red wine.  Now I just have to pack my stuff so I can get into the bed.

    Debbie, No T- giv problems here....yet. :)

Hope your weekend is turning out okay.

Michelle, is this lovely scholar the DD whose kids you babysit? I'm even more impressed with that academic accomplishment if she is also raising kids. Either way, what an honor!

I'm really happy that you had beautiful weather for a wonderful day....

Laurie, sorry you had such a lousy experience with the ER doc...in my opinion it is not acceptable to tell a patient with your medical history and current new symptoms that it is "just" anxiety and send you on your way. It's kind of a chicken and egg situation.....of course you'd have anxiety!!! We never have the presence of mind to give our own relevant input when docs are pontificating.....and ER docs can be the most dismissive. Do you feel like that has to be the last (ugly) word? Can you touch base with the doc you mentioned you have a good connection with? Good luck....and I hope you enjoy your day tomorrow.

Looking forward to a lovely luncheon with Southie son tomorrow at the Navy Yard Bistro in Charlestown.

Happy Mother's Day to all who nurture!

Minustwo- Im very sorry about your friend. Have a safe flight.

Lacey- At first i wasnt sure what you meant, then realized it was Kaara who told the story about her Thanks-giving fiasco. LOL! Enjoy your day with your son.

I talked to my dad today and he sounded so sick, i felt so bad i doubted him. He apologised and said he would make it up to me, of course i told him that i didnt go to any trouble at all and the food wont be wasted (which it won't) and at least i wont have to cook for awhile. lol! I felt so bad i cried when i hung up the phone.

Happy Mothers day to everyone and sorry for those who lost there mom like me and will be missing there moms! Hugs to all!

Wow, its like a ghost town here now!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!  I'm not cooking today...yea!  We'll be having a late brunch at a local seafood restaurant that has an awesome buffet.  I can never eat enough to warrant the price but DS#3 says he will make up for that...lol!

Good morning ladies....I woke up planning to text DS2 that we'd need to cancel our luncheon plans because DH

(TV alert "Sunday Morning" is doing an interesting piece on "breasts")

awoke in the middle of the night miserable with a bad sore throat and cold symptoms (which I've had for over a week now).....but wait, two tylenol and he's ready to go anywhere he can get a good meal. Go figure.....can't keep that guy down when food is involved!

    Lovely card Deb!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!  We will be having a "make up day" because yesterday after graduation, the graduate fell in the street while walking to the reception a block from the arena, and fractured her kneecap!!!  Yikes, luckily it was a clean break - no surgery required.  But we took her to the ER and they gave her a big brace and good drugs.  And we will bring her back to our house so I can help her out for a few days.  She has a dog and a wonderful roommate, but we can't leave everything to him.

Gotta run, will explain more later.

OMG Michelle   Well...I guess you got a surprise Mother's Day gift, but thats a pretty sly way to get your daughter home with you LOL Thank Goodness she didnt fall on the way in! This is gonna make a good story to tell her children, even though she isnt thinking that way now.  Hope she has good drugs for the pain and heals quickly.

Laurie  did they discharge you with any referrals? or just tell you to follow- up with your cardiolgist?  the ER docs are  trained only to treat the immediate (or presenting) problem and then refer the patient out for other issues. Unfortunately its all about getting you in and out (ie. money)

Debbie  [[[hugs]]]  do something special for yourself today!!

My daughter sent me a card with 2 twenties in it and said "these 20's will help your garden grow"  She knows how I like to garden, so I am off to see my mom and get some flowers for the garden.

May get the grill going tonight with some steaks and grilled veges, ig it doesnt rain.

Oh no Michelle!!  I hope she is ok and I agree with Carrie, at least it was on the way out and not on the way in!  I am sure you still managed to have a great day though.

Carrie- The ER pretty much sent me on my merry way.  Told me to follow up with my primary this week.  Yesterday and today I was having severe anxiety, about what God only knows.  So I went in to see the nurse on call and she prescribed me some adivan.  Only 2.5 mg which I then cut in half.  It helped quite a bit but didn't make me feel drugged.  I LOVED the nurse practitioner I saw today, she actually listened, understood and cared.

I have to make this quick but just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mothers Day!  Here is a quote I found which I loved.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.  ~Washington Irving

Omg Michelle.... So sorry about the unexpected detour! It will make for a good story down the road but I'm sure she's not seeing it that way just yet.... Thank goodness she has you to help her through!

Oh my goodness Michelle, well you have something to look forward too.

After a lot of driving from Chelmsford to Portsmouth NH then down route 1A to Seabrook stopping here and there we got back on route 1 and traveled up to York, ME.  Had a nice Lobsta Roll here.

Deborye, a lobsta roll!  Lucky you!

DH and I cooked Mother's Day dinner and took it to my mother's house.  We had 8  adults and 2 children.  Ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, devilled eggs, baked beans and green salad.  It was a nice day.  My mother enjoyed her dinner and her presents and most of all enjoyed the visiting.

Michelle, what an unfortunate end to a graduation!  Bad luck for your daughter.

    Laurie, hang in there.

Tomorrow I go for an Echo test.  Stress test on Tues.  Apptment with cardio dr. on Thurs.  New BP med isn't working any better than the old med.  BP high in the morning and then moderates during the day.  Hope we can resolve this situation before the last week in June, when DH and I are planning to depart for the summer, towing our big 5th wheel camper.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and to all us daughters!

Happy mother's day to all! I just caught up on everything. Wow, Larie, you have been through the wringer lately. Hugs.

Congrats on the graduations Carrie and Michelle! Sorry aboutthemishap after. Wow hope everything willbe fine for your trip toParis.

Michelle, are you still waiting for results? I have been thinking of you. I really think it's just a fluke. I hate these tests that scare us to death. Will be sending you good thoughts and wishes.

Carol, hope you get the BP meds straightened out soon. It must be so frustrating.

Had a great day. We had my in laws over for brunch, my mil, her so, my bil, his wife and their eight and six year old and their new puppy. Lots of fun and excitement. My DD was wonderful with her little cousins. They really love it when she plays with them. She made me a mother's daycard,so cute! She's 14 and in8th grade. I think this is my last home made card. Idon't know why they don't end school inMay. She has three trips inschoolthis week and two concerts. Graduation is on June 11.

Had lox and bagels, scrambled eggs, frittata and home made ice cream for brunch. Yum! Had some tuna fish just now for a snack, still was pretty full from brunch. Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

This picture was taken after graduation, and after she fell.  She had pretty much blown it off until we got to the restaurant and she sat for a while.  When she went to get up to leave, she couldn't straighten her knee and by the time we got her out the door, we knew we had to take her to Urgent Care.  Luckily, there was no wait and they took care of her fairly quickly.  I posted a few more pictures on Facebook for anyone who's interested.   Afterwards, we went back to her apartment and drank Prosecco! She stayed away from the hard drugs until much later. I spent the day with her today, and will go there tomorrow. She can work from home so we'll pick up her laptop from work. And I'll be able to take her to any doctor appts...she needs to call the ortho and her PCP.

I think I should hear the results of the PET tomorrow. I'm hanging onto the false positive thoughts, so I'm doing OK.

Deb - I had a lobstah roll for dinner, also, just not from Maine. DH grabbed dinner from a retaurant near DD's apartment.

Carole - good luck with your cardio tests this week. Yes, you sure want to be stabilized so you can head off with the RV...I am a little jealous. But our time will come!

    I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! And oh, I think that's a big picture...lol!

Husband and I went to a local Middle Eastern hole-in-the-wall restaurant that we love tonight.  We split an order of hummus with pita, and I had a falafel sandwich with yellow lentil soup.  It was delicious!
