Hello All, What a different look on the site! It logged on for me automatically tho. We'll get use to it, I guess.

Chrissy and 3jays glad things are getting better.

Kathy, glad you had a good trip and your young friend is doing so well.

I was exhausted after my getaway with my DD and slept most of Sunday. Monday was MH day and grocery shopping and stuff. Today was back to PCP. I still have cough and wheeze :( He has prescribed a more powerful inhaler and will refer me to a Pulmonary Specialist up at Mass Gen. Then I did some shopping with DD, she will be here for 2 more weeks. My DS will come home from school tomorrow, so I will have a full house for Mother's Day. Somehow I feel more complete when my family is all together.

Today is my 1/2 birthday and I celebrated by taking my first Arimdex. I figured I'd be able to remember the date. I was sick of the pills just sitting on my bathroom counter and me putting it off until my lungs felt better.

I also went to my first ever acupuncture appt. I'm willing to try anything to feel better. So now I can't tell if I'm feeling a little weird because of the new inhaler, the acupuncture, or the pill. LOL

Hope things are going well for everyone. ((((hugs))))

maca:  How do we define our anniversaries...from the time we were dx or from the time we had surgery?  If it is from the time I was dx, then I've had a 1/2 anniversary as well, and so far so good.  I seem to be doing ok on the tamoxifen...just some hot flashes now and then.

I'm sorry to hear you still have your cough and wheezing.  I don't remember...did you have that before you started your radiation treatments?

I took DD to the dentist yesterday to have her tooth pulled.  She is so fearful that she has to be put out completely, but it went well.  They ended up taking out two teeth while she was under which means one less trauma we'll be going through in the future:)

Today is visiting day with my DGD...unless it storms here like it did yesterday.  I don't like driving that far in bad weather...my eyes have difficulty seeing in bad rainstorms.

Chrissy...glad you're mending well, and 3jays...glad your hand is doing better...nothing worse than losing use of your hand.

    Have a great day everyone!

Kaara, I was talking about my real birthday, which is in Nov so therefore my 1/2 birthday is in May. But it interestingly enough coincides with my cancerversary. I count it from dx which was Dec 2nd. Even tho most of the techs seemed to already know just from the mammos. so I have been living this journey since Nov, too. My first mammo was in Oct and they called me back, but I was going to CO to spend my birthday with my DD, so then when I got back we went right into dx and biopsy etc......

So while I was in CO I had a hard time breathing, which I attributed to the high altitude. And then after my surgery I caught a cold which settled in my chest. Then the rads just made everything worse. The wheezing started during the rads. Which came first the chicken or the egg. Some of the tests the dr ordered say rad induced asthma. We are hoping it will resolve.

I have hot flashes, my emotions are all over the place, and I have aches and pains without taking any meds. So I don't see what a difference Arimidex will make. I am keeping an open mind.

I'm glad your DD got thru the dentist ordeal. I lived in FL for a while and know how it can rain down there. Just torrents, so be careful driving.

are we adjusting to the new look at BCO yet?

    chrissyb Member Posts: 11,438

Barbe you probably did......lol.......they are metalic dark purle with light purle swirls on the arms!...........very retro.  I'll see if I can still post a pic on this new format.

Yippee it still works!  The color on the arms is a little more light purple but the flash has leeched the color somewhat.  I'm loving them and get heaps of comments about them being a little 'out there' ......lol

Oh my, web sites change. I am usually slow to adjust but am improving and find that this change isn't all that difficult to deal with.

    I am not going anywhere.

cHRISSYb- THE NEMESIS OF BLOOD CLOTS ARE LONG CAR RIDES AND AIRPLANES RIDES, LOVEY UNTIL TOTAL HEALED USE IT AS AN EXCUSE TO STAY AT DEAR DAUGHTERS. --------STILL WITHOUT GLASSES. SQUINTING GIVES ME A HEADACHE. INCISION HEALED JUST BEING OVERLY CAUTIOUS.

mADE MY FIRST BLOOPER NOT JUST MISSPELLING. OM OMG THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT BEAR AND I TYPED REARS. SHOULD BE FUN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH THAT ONE LOL'S l&h'S SHEILA

SAS, I DID A BIT OF A GIGGLE OVER YOUR BLOOPER......LOL......I'M SURE IT WILL GATHER SOME COMMENTS.  YES I KNOW THAT SITTING STILL FOR LONG JOURNEYS IS THE NEMESIS FOR CLOTS SO I'M MAKING SURE THAT I DON'T DO TOO MANY.  TODAYS LEVEL WAS 2.00 SO I AM FINALLY GETTING THERE.....YAY!!!!  DOC RECOMMENDS THAT I STAY ON THE AMOUNT I'M ON AND TEST AGAIN ON MONDAY.  HOPEFULLY THE LEVEL WILL STABILISE.

3jays, I'm not going anywhere either as I would miss everyone far too much.  We will get used to the new format and when all the gliches are ironed out I'm sure it will be just fine.  It's just hard to accept change sometimes and even though I knew the changes were coming it still gave me a bit of a shock as it's almost like a whole new site rather than the one I know and love.

Nancy I sure hope you get some answers about your wheezing as that really doesn't sound too good at all.  I'm sure your emotions will settle some what as time goes on but should Arimidex cause you too many hassles remember that there are other AI's out there and you can change to find one that suits you better.

Just lit the fire as tonight it is going to be cold.......brrrrrr!  I guess that's what comes when winter is around the corner.

    Love n hugs all!  Chrissy

Chrissy:  I'm glad you're feeling better.  You say winter is coming...what is actually the best time to visit Australia/New Zealand?  BF and I are trying to plan a trip next year..probably a cruise and were just wondering.

The new format is a little cumberson, but I'll adjust.  I wouldn't let something like that drive me away from such good company:)

This morning the site moved to my favourites so quickly as to completely surprise me (not that hard before coffee #1 is done).

The font size is fine and I've removed those annoying articles. The first one was about obesity which kind of put me off even looking at the rest of them. Otherwise the changes seem to be OK.

I have to admit this site works so much better on my phone! When I was doing rads I dragged my laptop with me and now I am in dr waiting room and using my phone. I know that was one of the things they were trying to achieve with the site changes.

Well, I am rethinking my idea that having both kids home at the same time would be a good thing. LOL They are so different and my son does not handle transition or change well. Today is a new day. He'll get use to the changes.

As will we, I appreciate and need you guys too much to ever leave this site.

    Good Morning.

SAS glad you can see again. We caught the feelings behind your posts if not every word.

Chrissy it is funny to read about your winter coming when we are excited about our spring and summer on the way. We just came through some rainy days which has made the grass grow and the plants look so healthy.

I am having some trouble sleeping lately, but waking early means I have some quiet time before my kids get up. I truly love them, but they bring activity and energy to the house that hasn't been here for a while. My son has had anger and anxiety since he got home from Iraq a few years ago and I have to remember that he has changed. Now he has to come to grips with my changes. He said to me yesterday so what do you do all day just sit around? Since I am not working I think he meant. My whole perspective on a productive day has changed.

Life is so interesting. I just watched the elementary school bus pick up the kids from the neighborhood. It seems like just yesterday we were in the mad rush to get ready to catch that bus. Now we are in a whole different mindset. I am enjoying that time has slowed down for me. Life is very precious and every moment counts.

It is bright and sunny today. Hope ya'll enjoy your day!

i'm so glad you got the glasses back, sas.. here's a hint, i always click on the "B" in the beg of the post for bold.. that way I can read it, too..

Mac, its wonderful that you understand how it is for your son.. mine is not socially appropriate, but doesn't have PTSD as a reason.. well, his is not war related, but IS the result of my divorce.. over 20 years ago.. he never WAS the same, but thats' a way too long story.. I'm so grateful for the sons and fathers, that have fought for us: and so many of them came back with wounds you can't see. a long while ago, i was involved with viet nam soldiers returning, and therapy groups for them..

it really IS amazing how fast they grow big!!!

Happy mothers Day, to you all!!!!3jays

Hello all! Thanks for reminding me about Mother's Day. It's not Mother's Day here but now I'll remember to call my mother. She'll appreciate the call though she won't remember afterwards about it. She has Alzheimer's and it's just getting worse. I don't think she remembers who I am unless she's told. The only consolation I have is that she doesn't have pain from difficult situations that she would otherwise - she's not aware of my Stage IV dx, not does she remember (though she was told) that her sister passed away recently. The thing with Alzheimer's is that the person who has it doesn't suffer but the people who love her do.

So....... had a breast MRI last week. I've never had trouble with MRIs before but this time wasn't so easy. We had a very rainly winter this year (thank G-d, the drought before that we had was terrible) and as a result things are BLOOMING! BLOSSOMING! GROWING! Yep, all the things I'm allergic to and that set off my asthma. So there I was lying on my stomach, remaining breast through the cute hole designed for it and the rest of my chest lying on that table with my lungs compressed. WOWSER that was uncomfortable. I was having difficulty with my breathing towards the end. I just hope the results are good. I'm having a prophy mx and TE placement and BS said if mammo, U/S and MRI are clear then we won't do a SNB. Got the results for the mammo & U/S, which were fine so I hope the MRI is the same. I already have mild LE on the other side so I hope to avoid bilateral. Pre-op is Thurs 24th and I'll get the surgery date soon after that so I figure probably late June.

Happy Spring to all (except Chrissy - Happy Fall to you!).
