This is second time up during the night with DD. She's getting worse, now has 103 temp. I just gave her meds and she's doing a neb. I'm thinking it's turned into bronchitis or pneumonia. Only 4 more hours and I call call and get her into Dr.

This probably sounds terrible, but we had such fun with head wraps and scarves in the 60 &70's .....miss them, they were so creative depending on what you were wearing.

Tulip, The info I have to go on is that the DD gas a preexisting condition, that now you are dealing with an exacerbation, You know the child, You have lived it for years. You know when to activate EMS and when to wait for the morning call to the doc. SO, sorry, with each event you have to do so many evaluations of what you see.. Kiddo allergies , seriously suck

Well missed the temp, What did you do?

wild ahhhh, hope you can get something to make your daughter feel better. Scary with temps. Body working hard to kill that virus. Hang in there

Sensi, hope you are feeling ok about the hair loss. It's is real tough for so many. I actually am an odd duck. Kinda enjoyed it. Got a lot more help from people cause there was a visible sign. Kinda enjoyed that time. Also I like looking for the rainbows :).

    Have a blessed day all

Wildtulip- concerned to hear about DD's worsening condition and that temp is high. I hope you are at the doctor this morning and getting her the help she needs. Keep us posted.

I have an appointment for my DD, but not till late this afternoon. She's ok for now.. Stinks we couldn't get in and get meds started sooner, but she's not at the point of needing ER. If we couldn't get in to a Dr today, I'd be taking her to urgent care. Sas, she was a 1 lb baby and had a trach until age 2, so I am used to this respiratory stuff. It started as a cold/cough with low grade fever at beginning of week, and I know with a sudden fever spike late yesterday that it's an indicator of a secondary infection. We have a pulse oxcimeter (measures oxygen level), and her levels have dropped throughout the week, but she's not at the point of needing O2. Thankfully I have what I need to monitor her!

Sensi, I went through chemo last year, and it is a different experience for everyone. I think loosing the head hair was harder on my kids and others then it was for me. I also used a lot of scarves, and knit hats..more comfortable.

Sending everyone good thoughts and hugs!

WildT, awww the poor child. Please do keep us updated when you get a chance. In the meantime, sending up prayers for you and DD.

    Sensi, nice shaped head.

Sensi, You can also have fun with scarves. A member here had a red bandana with dreads. Be sure to wear a sun hat outdoors. Head sunburns hurt.

hello ladiacs! I just got back from a walk around the park. I only did 3 laps because some people I know were walking laps in the opposite direction and I didn't have anything to say after the first 2 passes. Am I socially stunted? Wait, don't answer that!

Hello to those of you that I don't know. (Don't believe everything they might say about me.)

Hello to those of you that I do know! Sassy, susan, wren and Holei Molei. (And Chevy?)

Sensi- my sister got this really fun cap with hair on it when she went through chemo. She would wear her wig to work every day when she did work, but got the baseball cap with the hair to wear when she was out and about. I was with her when she was getting these things and found it and she really ended up loving that during her chemo time.

This one is a lot like what she got. Not cheap though.

My DD has Pneumonia and we already have first dose of antibiotics in her, so she should be doing lots better by tomorrow at this time. We had so many plans this week, and all had to be cancelled except Dr appointments. At least she should be good to go for the start of school on Monday.

Sas, I printed off that article about Melatonin and I'm going to bring to my MO next time I have an appointment.

    Hi Phyllis!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Wildtulip- I am glad you found out what was going on. Hope the anti-B's can kick it good. Rest for the daughter and maybe the mother too!

May your DD be feeling better soon and on to the new school year next week as planned.

Was waiting for you to check in. I was concerned it would be pneumonia. It's good that you have the equipment to monitor DD. It would be nice if you could be cloned. Then, you could take a break on this lovely beach. image

Sorry, you just have to settle with yourimagination.

    Susan, are you better?

Hi Phyllis, I am not sure if I could believe you either. Going against the flow.....hmmmm.

    Here is Mitzy waiting: image

Problem is...... no one is upstairs :(

Jazzy, Rest..yes..that would be great. DD will be going to her dad's tomorrow night, barring any complications, so planning to sleep then if not before!

Loverly, how did you know that a beach is exactly what I want?! Seriously, ever since dx I've been wanting to run away to a tropical island. I'm not typically a lay around in the sun kind of person, but oh how those pictures are calling to me!!! A hammock in the shade would be perfect. Poor Mitzy!! Change is hard on her too. Beautiful home!!

Loverly, I agree. I cannot even imagine my house looking that neat. Think living with a pack rat might be the problem?

I try to keep my apartment clean, but the fact it is only one bedroom, my sewing and fabric collection are very in your face. Very disconcerting, but "it is what it is!"

WildT, thanks. How is DD doing? Is she taking probiotics? If yes, don't forget to space it out at least 2 hours apart. How is DS' tonsil?

Jazzy, you are welcome to come over anytime :)

    Susan, better??

Ms. Wren, I live with a pack rat too. We learned to compromise although he could get rid s bit more. Mother is also a pack rat. I would get anxiety attack whenever I visit my parents. DH likes to pack at least a month before he leaves for his mission trip. It looks like we have a garage sale in our master bath and bedroom Shocked

JunieB, it's ok as long as it works for you. How are you doing?

    Where is that naughty ShepK?

Just got back from 8 mile hike. I met several neat people, one of whom was a 74 year old lady originally from Austria. Migrated here when she was 19. Crossed the ocean to a new world just like me. I love talking to older folks as they have so much wisdom to share. Here is are pics iof Donner Lake. So sad that it was so hazy with smoke from the fire in Southern California we had last week.

wildtulip, hope for onward and upward tomorrow.

Liver, yep Susan is feeling better. Yeah. Dog is going back to blah tomorrow. He is impossible. He , and my mom, disconnect from me all the time. Lived my whole life this way . Sometimes it would be for a couple years. There have perfected the silent treatment. I have never done that to anyone....until today. I told him I thank God I finally gave the strength to be done with him for ever. Told him to pick up the dog and I am through. Said a lot of things, Dan proofread before I hit send. I will call elder abuse Monday. He can deal with them. I have a lot to say to the elder hotline, hope they have the day free

Who wants to see kitten pictures? Friend of mine is fostering a family of four, three boys and one girl. The boys are rough and tumble and the girl holds her own.

Loverly, Beautiful pics! DD is getting better, finally. No fever since yesterday and cough is improving. The ENT my DS was supposed to see Thurs had to go into surgery, so appointment is rescheduled for next Wed afternoon. (I can't believe you remembered!) When the office called I said," look another provider told me an asymmetrical enlarged tonsil can indicate cancer, and I just went through cancer treatment, so I need to at least talk to someone now." The triage nurse came on the phone and said she has never known of a case of an enlarged tonsil to be cancer. She also told me she would have a NP call me, but I never got the call and that's when DD got worse, so I didn't pursue.

    Hugs to everyone!

FF and I had an evening out - I ate a McDonald's grilled chicken sandwich in the truck while he ran into Wal-Mark then we went grocery shopping! Halfway through the shopping the McDonald's "food" started a revolt in my tummy and we had to hurry up and check out n' leave. Did not get sick (yet) but my guts are in agony. brewing mint tea now ☕ Ahhhh, life in the fast lane....

Susan ~ PROUD of you for taking a stand. You are a loving, caring and giving person. You have gone way beyond what most people would have done. Your brother and mother made their life choices years ago. Jazzy is so wise...... what she posted about decluttering not only applies to objects, but to people too. If something doesn't give you joy, let it go 🌷

thanks sheps....it so sad that life has to get so messy. I strangely feel ok. I told him I am to exhausted and my health is more important so I am done. He sent a long mean text back about me not being a Christian . He is an atheist , no judging here, I don't do that, but all the times I got the silent treatment I always was there when they both decided to talk again. I think, I know, my brother misunderstood. I am exhausted from a whole life of this. The proverbial straw happened. He is looking at the last year, or maybe just these two weeks with the dog. I didn't justify him with an answer. I said I was done, and I didn't say it lightly. I doesn't make I dif if he doesn't understand. I know how hard I have tried, now it's time for my family. That's all I have the energy for. I am I good with that

So sorry, Susan. Can't change people. You did your best to honor your mom. God knows your heart. I really don't understand mean people. I think their goal in life is to make others feel miserable. I agree about letting go of toxic people or else you become bitter yourself. We want Susan to continue to be sweet :)

Oh ShepK, I hope whatever found its way in your grilled chicken sandwich hurry up and exit your system. Stomach cramping is no fun especially the one that makes you feel like you are giving birth. Sometimes warm compress or applying Icy Hot on the tummy helps. I regret calling you naughty now.

WildT, that's not nice of them to make you wait another week or possibly longer for an answer. It is good to hear the antibiotic is working.

Jazzy, I am more of a dog person, but those kittens are adorable.

    Eyes are getting heavy. Nit

sheps, sorry I missed about your tummy. I like to weigh myself after a good purging. Then I pretend that's my real weight. Now don't anyone out there burst my bubble...lol. Got in trouble with daughter when I wasn't drinking during our 5 k. Again, I sweat a lot . Weight looks great after that too. Now I am sure I am gonna get caring advice over that one, or be yelled it. Be gentle now.....I promise to drink from now on...no fingers crossed Loopy

    Sweet sweet dreams everyone

Ps. Went to a wedding today at a racetrack. I have never gambled and I'm not starting now. But love to see the horses. A cousin used his money and placed a bet for me. He had to leave so I had the ticket. I won $168 dollars. How about that !!! Kinda cool. Shopping spree it is. Fun fun fu

Loverly ~ Mint tea seems to soothing the uckies. I am usually very selective about what I eat. Oh well.... You can still call me naughty; it's one of my favorite things to be 😇

Such pretty pictures of your hike. 8 miles? That is an awful lot of walking! How long did it take? Was Mitzy with you? Uh-oh.... I just googled Donner Lake. That park is a memorial to THE Donner party! Ewwww.....I am too superstitious, no way José would I go anywhere near there! Hope you brought plenty of snacks with you..........

Is Mitzy still waiting for both of her girls to come downstairs? (sniff) It's so hard on the critters when we change things on them. She'll need some extra play sessions!

I loved seeing the extended view of your living room. Now I am even more determined that my sofa and love-seat need to be moved into the corner under the windows. Ohhh and the piano! Do any of you play? I can play 3 songs - sometimes. And not completely. Please share pics of your hubby's messiness so we will not be so envious of your pristine home. I would be delighted to have the garage sale look. FF prefers the Gasoline Alley motif. Tools and vehicle parts everywhere. Hunting gear too.....

Hoping DH does not have his stuff all out because he is going on another mission trip soon😟

Susan ~ OMD.....I do the same thing! No matter how horribly ill I am from whatever "end", I ALWAYS get on the scale! LOL Gotta look for that sliver lining you know 😜

A wedding at the race track sounds fun! And winning money - woo-hoo! I don't like to lose and I'm cautious about money; I'm not a gambler either. I do love horses. Watching them run must have been something! Such power and grace. I used to work with a girl that had horses. She and her best friend were single moms. The friend had horses too. They bought a big piece of land in the country and each built a little house in the middle of it. The property was fenced all around and had a big barn. The horses had free run of the "yard". She could sit in her living room and look out the windows to see the kids, horses and dogs all playing together. There was a big window in the kitchen they would open up so the horses could stick their heads in to visit while the were eating! I thought that was soo cool 🐴

    Still catching up............

JunieB ~ Other peoples's stuff is clutter. Stuff that is yours that you like is nice - your sewing and fabric is "comfort decor" 🌻 How has your thumb been since the injection? FF had an injection in May (?) for a trigger thumb. He had been in terrible pain for quite some time before. His thumb has been pain free ever since being treated. Hoping you have long term relief! Doesn't it make you wonder though why we can't get shots like that for our hips and spine? I would be sooo happy If I could carry around a bunch of pre-filled lidocaine syringes - nothing else, just the numb stuff! I've been keeping all my possible parts crossed in hopes of your hip finally being compliant by staying put and not hurting. Has the fit of the brace gotten better since you re-adjusted it?

HiHo ~ How are you feeling after the kyphoplastys? I had one vertebra done last May. I was sore for several weeks after from my spine shifting back to where it was supposed to be. I was very happy to have the pressure taken off the affected nerves! I have to have 2 vertebrae done sometime soon (I hope). Sending prayers for your comfort, healing and semi-normalcy to return (((hugs))) And there absolutely is a Heaven.......didn't you see those fuzzy baby kitty pics Jazzy posted? There is a hell too. It is Vermont. I have been there and it is awful. 🍁👹🍁

Jazzy ~ Those baby kitties are adorable! Love those eyes! They look like baby Rag Dolls. Look at the size of those paws - they are going to be big!

Sassy ~ Been chasing my pain management windmill and have come up with some interesting stuff. Will post it later......need to sleep. Still waiting to hear about the Star Trek - was it good?

Sensi ~ You have the most expressive eyes.....I wish I could reach through the screen and hold your hands while telling you something silly to make you laugh. 💜 Hope your mouth is doing better and that the meds clear all the uckies out quick. How was your trip with DS? I'm an "only" and always though it would be so fun to have a sister. Nice that you two are close and got to take off together!

WildT ~ Gosh what a week......prayers for all to be healthy and enjoy this last weekend before school starts.

Here's a real place at the beach.....DS and I had yummy hamburgers and fries there at the beginning of the summer. I'll go and hold our table and we can all hang out and relax............

    Sweet dreams to all 🌝
