It's above 80 here today. Dug out some shorts from my clothing crates in my attic. Tomorrow is supposed to be just as warm. Hung my laundry on the line since it's warm.
My nephew is coming down with my parents when they come for a visit on Sunday. Can't wait to see his face as he opens his birthday gif

I forget Teka. I knew I forget someone. Hello, Teka.
I hate it when we have family feud. Thank you Susan for showing your grace. Boundaries are important for one's sanity. You know we love you.
I can't believe I am the only one up talking to me, myself, and I.

Hey Ya'll!
Gosh but I have been missing everyone! I'm still catching up on reading; my vision is still kinda wonky. Still having fatigue, dizziness, headaches, balance issues and some traces of the infection. Docs are pleased with my progress and say I just need to be patient. Ha!
I still have the home health care team coming to the house. The PT lady looooves Marti and makes her come out end exercise too ! Poor Marti got bit by a Copperhead Snake last week. She is is on antibiotics and is doing just fine.

Dearest Susan and Sassy,
I hate to see you two in a disagreement. Like I said above, I am waaay behind on things. Susan, your opinions and advice I have always highly respected. You put much thought and research into all you do. Your decision are not made lightly. Whatever this situation is now, the decision was yours to make and we all should respect that. Sassy, your are a passionate woman - especially about those you love and care about. You shared your concerns with Susan. I'm sure she has taken them into consideration. She is also surrounded by loving, attentive family who will notice if things don't seem "right"
And that is yet another reason why IT is so special. We fight 'cuz we love each other too much! (now knock it off!)

Another 80 degree day on tap for today! Gotta get the ice I made yesterday out of the trays and refill them. I like to keep a good supply on hand to give to the "kids" in their water dishes!

M0mmy, my chocolate lab Abbey loved ice cubes too! I still miss the sound of her crunching ice cubes even 5 years after I helped her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She developed bone cancer and from time of diagnosis to time to let her go was 6 short weeks. It happened so fast! 😥
We've got storms coming through for the rest of the weekend. If nothing else I'll have lots of rain water for my garden when all is said and done.
Hugs to All 🤗🤗

Susie I was frightened for you, the symptoms seemed to be progressing in a very bad way. I'll try not to be so pushy and scary.
Hi Shep glad you were able to post.
Wenchi thanks for all the teaching. Have you ever seen the hydroponic gardening done with old 2 litter bottles. tied up on a fence. It's right up your skills. Cheap to do. The example I saw was as fascinating as your straw garden. The guy that did it, was doing it to show how large amounts of produce could be produced in a very small space with a minimal use of resources. Seems the water from one watered the next. It was all herbs and salad makings.
found it. Hhahahaha, he's written a book too. He has a bunch of video's
Apparently, it's become an industry.

Lori, Princess just lets her ice melt in the water but with Jackson, he never even lets it start to melt. He gives the ice a minute or so before he goes and snatches it from the water bowl and carries it into the living room and crunches away.

Sassy, I haven't heard of the 2 liter bottle gardening. It sounds like something I'd try! We have a hydrophonic business on my way to my PCPs office. It's open to the public and you can buy all kinds of things. It's called Worm Works and Hydrophonic Gardens as you can start your own worm farm to help fertilize your gardens. I've never stopped by but I want to every time I see the place. One of these days! I'm off to check out the bottle gardening process. I've got lots of fence to hang bottles on.

Wenchi, a new project. I so appreciate new projects. But seriously, have an aversion to dirt. I'm sure it from the old operating room days. I wasn't averse to regular things until that time. It started shortly after I got there. Learning all about clean, clean contaminated, dirty contaminated, and hazardous contaminated.
One day early on, I heard these words "There's a fly in the hall". People in a crescendo down the halls repeated it. Slamming doors everywhere. I said to my nurse trainer "Why is everyone getting excited about a fly?" She turned and pointed at a sterile field. Oh. If a fly landed on it everything was considered contaminated. Everything had to be changed. A lesson and a change of thought process. I became part of any future group of fly yellers.
Once a nurse was going to get a fly, she stood on a rolling table. The table rolled. She ended up in a full leg cast. That became legend. Always used in teaching newbies.
I so enjoy your proper description of the straw bale farming. How is it not subject to random bunnie or rat invasions? Here in Florida rats are more of a problem than bunnies. That's why we love our feral cats. I know my unlces that had farms always fed the feral cats. I was young then. They were known as barn cats versus feral.
Why is straw a better medium for your farming that hay?

Spent several hours with a lady that helped pick out three doors. She was very kind and funny.

A wise friend once told me make sure you question yourmotives. If it is not pure, don't do it.
" Because the human heart is very deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9), we can easily fool ourselves about our own selfish motives."

Sometimes in life we make mistakes............saying sorry, may not make the mistake any less hurtful....., but it's an attempt to make things right and normal.

The reason I use straw bales instead of hay is that straw is a by product. Almost all of the seeds from the oat, wheat etc has been removed so very little grass to grow within the bale. I do have grass growing on the sides which just makes thebales look neater. Hay on the other hand has all of the grass seeds imbedded within the bale, so you'll get an abundance of grass growing all over the bale. So straw no seeds hay tons of seeds.

We all make mistakes and we hope that the people we wrong show us grace with our sincere apology. Not sure who said this: "The best apology is changed behavior." All we can hope for is restored relationship after we make every effort to change ourselves. That reminds me. I need to call DD to apologize to her for being overly protective when she was here during spring break. I didn't give her a chance to grow and be independent because of my great fear of her driving on the freeways. She wanted to take her sister to the mall which is about 25-30 minutes drive away. Traffic there on Saturday is terrible. I offered to take both kids which she didn't protest. She also wanted to go see her friends at a nearby University (35-40 minutes drive) afterwards. The thought of her driving to another city gives me great anxiety. I get big knots in my stomach. Sooo to relieve my anxiety I offered to drive her to see her friends which she didn't mind either. The whole time I was trying to justify my action/ behavior silently. I let my fear contrme. It is a disservice to your children when you don't allow them to do things for themselves because of your fear. Yup, we all make mistakes and will continue to make them. I just hope we learn from them.

Wenchie not to make you crazy, but how does the extraction occur? Not sure if this applies, but Dad used to say when a seed was certified, it meant that the seeds in a field all where supposed to be the same thing. One memory in a ride along, was a corn stock in the middle of _____________not sure what Dad called it. He recognized it. But there was one lone stalk of corn. When I asked him about it. He said that was considered a weed in certified ___stock
It was a lesson. Love Lessons. Anywhooses. Then I asked him what a weed meant. He said "Anything that that is out of place of the expected". I have applied that to many thoughts over the years LOL.
Application to Florida, MY whole yard is Bermuda and Johnson grass. Here they are considered weeds. But really they are Florida natives. Very Hardy. Very drought resistant, Very bug resistant. In a drought like we have now they brown out. With rain they perk up. No attention. Neighbor has Augustine and a watering system by well. But many use the municipal system to water the hungry Augustine grass.. I see it as a waste of resources. But we haven't come to terrible water problems like California

Loverly, What words you have shared...............all so true. Letting go. We try to teach them lessons... then pray.
They have no clue the worry of a parent that occurs on the minute that they were born. The minute of seeing/ hearing your own child, so changes your life. it's a rare moment. Until each of our own kids experience that moment, they won't get anything about us as parents. I may be cruel . but some of my first words to DS Stephen with his first child will be " You will now understand worry". Of course, joy, love, all positive adjectives. But in the background always is worry. Never knew that till the day Stephen was born.

Hey Owlettes, spent some time on the phone with Sassy, she had to do most of the talking because I had no teeth. I'm really unhappy about the whole surgery and all, they didn't install the posts to "snap on" the dentures, and they obviously didn't use my pictures when they made the dentures, because they look nothing like my old teeth. And I'm obviously in denial, because when I went to the kitchen to make my coffee, I popped a couple of pieces of bread in the toaster. What was I thinking? I tried gumming it, but that wasn't working, so I put my teeth in but the lowers are so loose they stick to the toast instead of letting go. I even went back and put glue on the bottoms but they are just really loose. There's all kinds of places where they rub still, I guess I must still have some swelling. Here's a pic of my new smile:
Aren't I cute? That's what I feel like I look like. And talking still isn't easy. They said to practice talking in a mirror!
On the bright side, my tongue isn't giving me fits any more.
