Rocket ship is wonderful. Lesson today make sure all necessary things are assembled before the soak. New identified feature regarding the inline heater. If it drops below set point the jets turn on to bring it back up to temperature.
Tile is another thing. The granite once backed with "butter and thin set" became a different color. The tiler has 30 years experience. The store manager has an equal amount. Conclusion is that we chose to put duraroc as a backing. Duraroc doesn't absorb moisture. The granite does. May take a long time for it to dry out. Like along time. No idea how long. It may not dry evenly.
Lesson: buy something simpler than granite. I didn't mean to buy granite. Truth be told had I know it was granite, I would have walked away. I was going for a tile that wouldn't show flecs of mastic. Donnie's an HVAC guy that come home at times covered with stuff. Anything that is buggy type he's trained to wash out side, then strip in the garage, then throw the stuff in the washer right away with hot water and bleach.
But he occasional has mastic flecs on the previous tile. Made me crazy. Ya know what you can't see, won't make you crazy.
Problem now is 25 boxes of 5 tiles each at 12.95$ per tile.............will it cure the same way.. Chit.......

Lover, I'm living vicariously through you. Your on a fantastic trip. How did DD do in her first year? Is she narrowing down her major? I had a work study student change her major four times ny her junior year and was still wavering when she had to declare it for the last time. Yup, she changed it. Luckily, she was getting her core courses out of the way.

She and her mate have taken over my large clay pots. They are two of the neighborhood ferals that have adopted me. They come looking for food and being a softy I feed them. Kathy so happy to see you. Tomatoes and cats. Cat- tomato. In Florida, feral cats are valued. They take care of the rats. There is a committed feral cat caretakers that see to it they are spayed. But eventually they will have to leave some unsprayed. Not sure if that group gets that. Rats are prolific. etc.
Trivial pursuit : The reason the plague occurred in Europe centuries ago, occurred b/c of the killing of cats. Cats being seen as evil.That allowed for the rats to proliferate . The fleas on the rats carried the plague. An example of messing with the ecosystem.

Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is I got the posts in and my friend and I had a delightful time just running errands and chatting and a quick lunch which we shared: split the fries and I drank the shake. Bad news, then the Novocain started to wear off and the pain is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I have spent the afternoon and evening in bed with ice packs, viscous lidocaine, morphine, ice chips, all to no avail. 60 mg of morphine so far hasn't made a dent. That's on top of my regular hydrocodone + ibuprofen. Who would have thought that drilling holes in your jawbone would result in pain? Duh. On top of that, I have to wait two more months for the bone to regrow around the posts before they attach the plate. Ugh.
More drama then, at pharmacy. I get this prescription filled there every 30 days. 120 hydrocodone + ibuprofen, which is not the usual compound. (Acetaminophen is what it usually is compounded with, but does nothing for me.) After a few months of having to wait for them to order it, I had a chat with the pharmacist. He assured me he would start making sure they had it for me. Guess what. They didn't have it. If I had come an hour earlier they could have ordered it and had it in tomorrow but it was too late. So it will be Monday. They are not allowed to do a partial fill any more. (Why?) I have enough through Sunday night. I'm having extra pain because of the posts. I will be hitting the morphine, dilaudid, Valium and whatever else I can dig up. Would like to be able to do some stuff with our friend, who is staying the weekend, and who knows when we'll see again. We were planning to take a ride out old Route 66 to the museum.

Ah Sas, feral cats will do that to you every time! LOL DC has a TNR (trap, neuter, release) program. There are people in the neighborhoods who have the traps. Left ear is clipped so if its caught again it is released. DC wants to try and do away with the ferals because they kill the birds but a neighbor, who also feeds, and I have noticed a decline in mice as well as rats. We have opossums on the block as well. Have also seen a raccoon but that was several years ago. There are a couple of wooded areas within walking distance from me that have deer and they have been seen in the 'hood'. A peregrine falcon has a nest at The Basilica that is next to where I worked. A magnificent bird, if I've ever seen one. One day when a bunch of us were outside for lunch, a mockingbird was swooping it as it was on the ground. Next thing we knew, it flew to a low branch of a tree. It had a squirrel in its talons. What a sight! One day when DS was here getting his masters, he was on the porch and heard a commotion. The falcon had swooped down and got a bird that was in the yard. A number of years ago, a coyote was spotted on Capitol Hill.
Family in Japan is doing well. I was on FaceTime with them several weeks ago. The grandchildren had a toy flier that was in English, I'm thinking from the air base DS works on, and were showing me some toys they wanted. They asked if I would get them for Christmas and were adamant that they should be for Christmas. The way they said it was so cute. Sent DGD a toy for her birthday and she asked if I could get her some more pieces to go with it. Glad they aren't bashful. Thank goodness for Skype and FaceTime. They have never been bashful around us and come running up to us when they come out of Customs/Immigration.
The newlyweds are doing well. Have been looking at houses. Were thinking hard about one that was close to their work and next door to a coworker they're lose friends with. I played devil's advocate as it was going as a private sale. The seller's were not going to make it move in ready. Told DD that the sellers wouldn't have to pay a realtor's fee so were saving a BIG chunk of change so the least they could do was put on a fresh coat of paint and a few other things that needed to be done. They decided against buying. The sellers ended up selling to family at a much lower cost since it wasn't moving. They weren't budging on lowering the cost when DD and DSIL were interested.

Ugh! Can't seem to download anymore pictures on cruise purchased wi-fi. Not a cheap service. Can't text either. Anyway, I am so happy to hear from you Kath. Good to hear that kids and grandkids are doing well. How are you doing? Oh finally, the picture loaded (after at least 20 minutes of trying). I gave up. Then, out of the blue it loaded. That's for you Feline.

Kath, DD still has not decided on what to major, but is really interested in psychology and leaning toward PT. She had to quit swimming because of shoulder injury. She really misses swimming and competing. Had been swimming since she was four. It had helped her to stay focus and concentrate in school. She actually did better academically when she swam. Probably has ADD for a long time. It was tough for her during the second semester as she had no outlet to burn the excess energy. Thank God she somehow managed to keep her GPA above the requirements for scholarship despite the difficulty with staying focus. It was during the second semester that she asked for Ritalin/Adderal. X-ray of shoulder didn't show anything, which I expected. Will ask for MRI when we get back from our vacation. Phone is acting weird. I may lose my post if I don't hit submit now

Found the courage to ride the subway in St Petersburg. It was just in April this year when they had a terrorist attack. Fifteen people died including the perp.
Call me foolish. I had to see the not only deepest subway in the world, but also built below the Neva River. It also serve as shelter in case they have a nuclear attack. Amazing technology. As you enter the station, you have to go through the metal detector. 
The longest escalator I have ever ridden. It would be a pain to walk upward if it was broken. Agh the other picture of the subway doesn't stick.

Junie, we were in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday and visited the Royal Palace. It was not as extravagant as the ones in St Petersburg, but the palace has a room for everything. A breakfast room, a writing room, a banquet room, a salon room, a guard room , and rooms for every thing. DD got so annoyed near the end and she said the same thing as you did....they could have used the money to help the poor people or educate the children. Wish the internet is faster so I can post more pictures. The Hermitage is MASSIVE. It was like having a giant buffet and not able to taste everything they had there. Our tour lady said that if we spend a minute at each painting, it would take us seven years to go through everything. I was not fed
So many interesting paintings. I wanted to learn more about the stories behind some of these paintings. Celia, if you plan to visit the Hermitage, do research ahead of what you would like to see and avoid going on the days the cruise ships dock. It was crazy crowded.

Mags, could you call around to see which pharmacy carries the Vicoprofen in stock? Too much trouble for a pharmacy to partial filled a schedule II drug....a lot of documentations and follow up with prescribing doc ( I am assuming the same for your state).
Ms. Sas, would it help if you go pee first before using the tub?

Hermitage museum...just to give you a general idea of how busy the place was. I actually was in awe with the Savior on the Spilled Blood and Issac Cathedral. Enjoyed the two churches much better than the Hermitage or Winter Palace. The artworks in the cathedrals were unbelievable. Too bad I am having a difficult time posting pictures.
It takes me 30 minutes to upload the pictures. I need to wait until we can find a McDonald or Starbucks in Denmark. Ha!

The Savior on the Spilled Blood Cathedral. It was built on top of the area where Alexander the II was assasinated. Took them 24 years to build and only a short time for the German to strip down and destroy part of the church during WWII. They were going to blow up the church, but decided that it was a good place for storage. The Russian actually found one of the bomb left behind in one of the dome (per our tour guide). Glad the German changed their mind.
Inside the Savior Cathedral. Each wall or dome tells a story from the Bible. If you are not careful, you will get neck pain after you are done touring the inside. What you see are not paintings, but mosaic arts. At close up look you can see the tiny broken tiles.

It's going to be a rainy day so I'm just laying around until the mood hits me to get up and clean the house. Just when I got our pool balanced it rains and throws it off again. When it rains it pours.

Lover, we've been thinking of taking a cruise. Hubby doesn't want to spend days at sea and not get a chance to visit the places we dock if we only get a few hours to visit. How many days do you get to visit all the different places on average?

Lori- with our 12-day cruise we have three days at sea and the rest are different destinations. The longest was two days in St. Petersburg, Russia and shortest was 6 hours in Tallinn, Estonia. So far we have been able to see most of the highlights of each destination. Of course we wish we had more time to wander around. Do your research so you won't waste time and money. Cruises charge ridiculous price for excursions. We ended up using a reputable private tour company in St. Petersburg which was much less expensive ($265 vs. $399 per person) than what the cruise wanted to charge us. Russian governments doesn't allow foreigners to enter their country without a visa. More economical to go with a tour group in this case. One of the risks of using a private tour companies is there is a chance that you would miss getting back to the ship on time if they are not organized. Where would you like to go?

Loverly, first of all thanks for letting us travel vicariously with you. I always loved to travel, crossed the Pacific when I was 4, on a passenger liner, 1955, and back in 1957. In the 60s I hitchhiked over much of the southern and midwestern states, and up the west coast as far as Oregon. When I went to Europe with my niece in 2009, I took about 700 digital pics. All I had was a pocket sized T-something and my iPhone (2 or 3) but they're good enough to elicit the memories.
About the vicoprofen; the problem currently is the so-called opioid crisis. The federal rules mandate that every patient who is prescribed an opioid is subject to rigorous monitoring. A patient who goes to multiple pharmacies can be tagged as pharmacy-shopping and eventually refused service. I don't want to take a chance with that. I've gotten some prescriptions filled at the cancer clinic's pharmacy, others at the hospital pharmacy.i don't want spread out too much. Sassy knows what I'm talking about.
The mouth pain - I just have to stay ahead of it, like everything else. The morphine helps.

Lover, I was looking into taking a cruise to Australia to visit our Lucy. I think we'll stick to our original plan to fly. This way we'll get to see the places we chose and not places we have no real interest in seeing. My hubby is a control freak lol
