Mags, it is my pleasure . Good to hear that the morphine is helping. You can make your own morphiprofen by adding ibuprofen, yeah? Loopy I hate that the bad apples make it difficult for those who need their pain meds. You hitchhiked across the country? Wow! There is no way a person can safely do that now.

Lori, if you have a place in mind and want to spend more time there, it is best to fly. I remember Lucy from Australia if we are talking about the same person. She was here on IT for a short period.

Ok going to try to post some pics since I have pretty good wifi on this public bus in Denmark.

Kathy, not rude at all, we have lot's to catch up on. Stephen and Jamie are doing well. They will be here tomorrow for brunch. New restaurant, so it should be fun. They get to see the house in disaster mode. Getting money conscious. Not sure what that's about? I like it, but need to find out whether it's a grown-up responsible thing or is there a problem.

Your Grands sound so cute. I didn't get my act together to Skype with my niece & nephew. They are past the age now.

We have Falcon's and Hawks in the area too. They certainly mess with the bird population. I had to stop feeding along time ago b/c of squirrels and the predator birds.

I want to use the old bathroom garden tub as a fountain pool with a pergola above it to encourage some wildlife, but we will see :)

Sometimes with real estate having to do fix-up can save a bundle of money. Cosmetic stuff is relatively cheap. It's the big ticket items that can wreck the budget. Stephen got a whole home warranty at purchase time. He has used it many times in 3 years. Originally when they came out 30 years ago they were very difficult and iffy. NOW I would recommend to anyone getting a new house it's a great thing to do. The warranty market has become very competitive, but not sure how they are rated. Consumer Report probably has an analysis, but I let my subscription go. The local libraries usually have the series.

I called Steve, he has changed companies from the first one as their price was going up. He has Choice Home Warranty now. Steve says google will pull about a dozen or so companies and there is one company that does quality and cost comparison.

Glad to see you here :)

Loverly, thanks for being concerned about my peeing LOL. I do go pee before, but alas the kidney keeps producing. It's when the cold air when hits, and being locked in the tub. I'll work with it, to figure something out Haha. But I'm loving my rocketship. I was talking on the phone with Shep when I was last in it. I couldn't run the jets or air bubblers and hear. So, I ran the lights. Very nice. I take it back that they are superfluous. Very soothing. red, green, yellow, dark blue, and light blue.

Still enjoying all your pictures. Glad you are having so much fun. :):):) The Hermitage is beautiful. The palaces and Cathedrals too.

Mommy and Wenchi I'll think of you cleaning today. :)

Mags, whew you have been through the grinder, sorry, Hope you can get some quality time with your seminarian. He's such a good story teller. Bummer.

Quick gallop through between bouts of accounting homework: thank you for posting all the pictures, Loverly!

(Accounting's turning out to be a time sink and a half--about all l've had time to do is cut my hair short enough that it doesn't get fluffles.)

Welcome, Tappermom!! Glad you are enjoying the pictures. Always glad to share my blessings.

Queenie, I take my hat off to you for going back to school to study accounting. Regarding the hair: just wash, mousse, and voila....stylish hair. Wish I could do the same. People would mistaken me for a dude with my hair short.

  • queenmomcat
    queenmomcat Member Posts: 2,020

I've gotten "Sir....um, ma'm..." a few times with my hair this short. (If I minded all that much, I'd grow it out.) But yeah, ease of grooming is one of the main reasons I do keep it this short--just run my hand over my head and I'm done.

The accounting class I'm taking is actually part of a business/business administration associate's degree program at the local community college; I'm in the school's new "computer applications" track of the business degree. Thankfully, this one class is all I'll have to take of accounting!

    Keep posting pictures....

    Also hoping Sassy's OK?

Sassy, Chit and then leave? Praying all is well!

QMC, I get that second look a lot too. I still have "chemo hair" it's long enough to not think chemo but so short for ppl to think why would she cut her hair so short? I've told my hubby several times I'm tempted to shave it again, it was so much easier to take care of! Now it just sticks up all the time! My hair was messy looking when it was long and now it's messy looking when it's short!

Wenchie: hopefully, your hair will find a happy medium. Until then, fluffles it is. Alas. But I'll take bemoaning hair problems to the alternative.

Wenchie, hair will continue to improve. Promise. I remember that stage. Got compliment on it from stranger who thought I was just ultra stylish with such a short cut. (Poor thing she was mortified when I explained that it wasn't a fashion statement). Of course it was all grey too, the grey stuff grows back first, I hated it. Trust me it WILL get lovelier. XXX

I'm just popping in to say hello!

It's hard for me to keep up with this board sometimes, guess I won't hold myself to that expectation and just stop in when I can.

Excellent pictures, makes me want to travel...when they can teleport us😂 My husband on the other hand has been there, done that with the old regime. He has tried to convince me to go on a river boat cruise to no avail.

You look great Wenchie! Nice tan going on, love the hair coming back, I remember those days you're rockin' it!

    Hope this finds you well!

Stupid neighbors across the street were up to their usual antics. Had to call the cops again yesterday as they were having a party and playing their music so loud it was practically drowning out my tv. We were recently told by the cop who is assigned as our Community Resource Officer at a neighborhood meeting it doesn't matter what time of day it is, if there is excessive noise, to call the cops. So I did and when we were talking to the cops over the phone, they were able to hear the loud music. Don't know if they came but I am sending the message that I am through being nice

Morning Owlies. Chit was related to aftermath of a dog fall. Haven't had one in quite awhile. Obviously, I wouldn't have fallen if I was paying attention. Boo-boos , but nothing serious.

Stephen and Jamie were here for brunch on Sunday. Nice.

Tile is drying, but it will take quite awhile to see final outcome. It seems they will all dry to the same color range. Hoping. Of course, one tile short for the floor.

Sassy: phew. Glad to see it was "only" a fall that produced boo-boos.

    Again, Hello Everyone,

I was just in the midst of typing a post and the page blinked, then poof the whole post was gone. Argh! Now lets see if I can remember what I had typed before.

Loverly - As many have already said, gorgeous pics. Please keep sharing as you are able. It is almost like we are there with you without all the packing and Wi-fi struggles. ;0)

MammaRay - Sorry you're struggling so.

M0mmy0f2 - I have some neighbors (approx. 8) who spend a significant amount of time at the smoking area in my complex and because they are who they are, they also spend that time gossiping, creating drama, lying, etc. There are 100 apartments and the actions of theses 8 individuals can make living here quite frustrating.

Sas - Ouch! a doggie spill. So glad you came out of it with only minor boo boo's. Kirby is 15 lbs now and pretty strong when he gets into a chase after those ferocious SQUIRRELS! ;0) He has nearly pulled me over on my face a few times. Ahh, to be so young and full of energy.

Wenchie - I think you look wonderful with your short fluffled hair. Enjoy it and how easy it is to style. As Queenie said, a little mousse and off you go! It is summer, so much cooler too. Life it too short to worry about what other people will think. As long as you're comfortable, pooh pooh to anyone who doesn't get it!

Last week I had done some pruning of some small branches and apparently injured a tendon below my left thumb. Excruciating, couldn't pick up even a cup of coffee or pull a paper towel out of a dispenser. Thankfully I was able to get into the doctor for a cortisone injection today. Appt. was at 8:30 a.m., so I had to get up at 4:15 a.m. and my ride to Portland came at 5:20 a.m. Once in Portland I then took a city bus to the docs office. Thankfully it was 25 degrees cooler than over the weekend. This last weekend was sooooo hot (Sat. 100 & Sun. 98 degrees) YUCK! Once I got home, I'd planned on taking a nap, but ended up having to go speak with my landlord about an issue. Once I returned home I did finally get that nap and slept over 3 hours. Still tired though.

I am going to the movies tomorrow with a friend, 2 of her sons and a couple of her grandkids. We're seeing "Transformers - The Last Knight" Looks good. Also looking forward to seeing "Despicable Me 3" next week.

Regarding Kirby, I've decided to postpone his neutering until he is a year old. I want to wait to allow the growth plates in his bones to finish closing, thereby allowing his skeletal system to be stronger and more fully developed. Because of the heat this last weekend, I'd only take Kirby out for 15-20 min. and when he came back in he'd and plop belly down on the tile floor. Thank goodness for A/C. Once he was cooled down, he kept bugging me to play with him. Here he is with his rope trying to get me to throw it for him.

    image

Also, with his new shoes. He's not thrilled with them.

    image

And sleeping on the couch with his Wubbie (stuffed Koala). His favorite toy.

This little guy is such a joy!

Catching up, didn't do a look back

Sorry didn't mean to scare everyone. Promise I won't do that again. Hopefully not another dog fall either.

Wenchie you look lovely and trendy. Your skin is luscious :) Everyone's right about the mousse. I'd forgot how much fun it was.

MammaRay, steroids at the worst. Exhausted and flying at the same time. Sorry about the new brain mets. I know Loverly keeps in contact. Hugs

Queenie thanks, I 've always said the person that invents the bubble that activates in a fall will be worth millions. They have some padded devices, but not like a flexible soft bubble would be. It just would have to not cause one to bounce. Hahaha funny image. Yay for only on accounting course. I think my worst course was calculus. Perhaps, if I put some study into it, it may have been easier. Oddly, when I was teaching the paramedics I used math and statistics all the time.

Myra girl, so glad to see you. River cruise here in the USA? How are things going? Update? My Stephen got married, finally. Lovely gal.

Junie, Squirrels, they could do us in when the dogs decide to go. Not to many around here anymore. I think it's the hawks they've chased every thing away. I asked my Slug-A-Bug guy about worms. particularly, round worms. He said the area needed to be sprayed for fleas. That the worm can be carried in the urine and feces. I didn't ask about tapeworms.

    Kirby is a sweetheart.

LOverly, you should be nearing the end of your journey . Left on the 12th and gone two weeks?

    Waving to everyone.

Eeyore are you ready to come up for air yet?

    Sensi?
