Only popping in to say w quick "hey"

Miss Blue - So, so sorry. You should make some nice chocolate Exlax muffins to thank the nice team that liked to almost kill you. Maybe JunieB would have recipe to share? She is a gifted baker 😃

Love your artwork! Wish I could plop down in the pretty blue and white wildflowers :)

Mags ~ Always thinking of you and rejoicing in your success. My BC heroine! So sorry for your difficulties now. Prayers to you and your family for well being 🙏

Sassy - still on ground. Loverly is right, I was sleeping! Won a battle with MO Monday. Going for biopsy today /Wednesday.

Sweet Ray-Ray - Did you post the Sassy song then hide it? Oh so naughty!

Mari is back! (speaking of naughty) We've been behaving too well over here. No wonder Mari's been MIA..... We have been boring! I did post a nice bossy bunny video though.....

I have something going on in my defective bresst. MO had wanted to stop Xeloda and radiate. I think it's an infection leftover from the Mastitis in April. Xeloda is kicking cancer arse...... no hip pain for the first time in 6 years! If there is cancer found from the test, I believe it will be a new primary, not a progression. That is what Sas thinks too. 3 different opinions - one of us will be right 😶

Also have a (hopefully last) Gamma Knife procedure this morning. Leaving home at 3 a. m. for 5:30 a.m. check in. 3rd time is the charm, right?

Need Loverly's little sheriff with me to make sure they get ALL the buggers this time!

Will pop back later if I can.....

Love you all my Sisters 💟

Shep - the muffins area tempting - great idea.

Leave home at 3 and 2 1/2 hr drive ? Ugh. I would just sleep through it. Or scream. Hope all went very well.

Double posting this --- on SteamRoom too.

Tomorrow night I have to have a babysitter. My DH's DNephew's wife will stay w me while they (DH and DN) go to the funeral of their friend. I was going to go but the cold air, cannot breathe in it, and so tired I can barely walk. So they offered. And DH said yes, and so she is coming w roast beef for us and their son who will rake the front yard and move the heavy chair off the deck to sunporch. I am very grateful for this offer. Though I am more one to stay home alone just fine. But never thought at age 60 I would have a babysitter so to speak.

Anyway, I will try to behave like a good girl.

Blue, you behave and don't give your babysitter a hard time. Eat your peas. If you are a good girl you can stay up a half hour after your bedtime :)

All, please, continue to pray for Mags family, the situation is very serious.

    https://www.rednewssite.com/2017/10/26/heres-list-places-leftists-plan-riots-november-4th/

Antifa is the biggest threat to the USA in known history. They are violent. They believe that they have the right to riot, destroy , and kill. This isn't going to be good. They believe they are rightful. They don't get that they are the danger.

I didn't think anywhere near me was on the list, but Merritt Island , Florida is 20 minutes away. If you don't understand how violent they can be pull up Berkley and Milo last spring.

Morning all, I've been on the phone with Mags. She sends her love and thanks you all for your prayers. She asked me to post the particulars.

The emergency has been related to her DH David. He had a critical bleed and organ system failure. This started last Monday. He was placed on a ventilator in an induced coma.

He's opened his eyes yesterday and can squeeze hands. He can shake his head yes and no.

His numbers have improved. He's not out of the woods yet, but as of wed it looked pretty bleak. So the improvement of the last two days is joyfully received.

Mags has a houseful of family and close friends that have come to help. They are taking turns at the hospital to reduced her stress. They are taking very good care of both of them. DH ICU team is excellent.

She has a strong Faith based community that they have been very active in for many years.

Many prayers are being lifted up. Please, still continue to pray for them.

Several times she said to tell you thanks and that she sends her love :)

May her DH continue to improve and be home soon! What a hard hit.

Teka - the grey hive on the bottom looks just like the one we had hanging in our vaulted ceiling at an old barn we owned, it used to be a barn and was deconstructed and built into a home. Cool hive. Here's the walls. The critter is a flying squirrel that came down the fireplace one night. I got it to go out an open window.

Marijen - thank you for the links to the immunotherapy information.

Well for the sake of my babysitter, I tried not to die.

What a horrible thing. When nephew and niece and their teen son arrived, I soon got diarrhea. Coughed endlessly. We still got to talk a lot but not easy. When she told me her dr rxed the tesslon perls at 200 mg a dose 3x a day..... well...... I thought like a big stupid that I would take an extra pill and it would work on the cough. Five min later I was woozy and sicker. She got me wet paper towels and I went in bathroom and violently puked up everything from 2 hrs before, just rice and ground beef and it wasn't even digested a little. But that was a good thing because the Perls will numb your nerves and thus also the throat and tongue and mouth which it did for me but only a little numb since there was so much food mixed in. So I could still breathe and swallow. But almost called an ambulance from toilet seat if only I had had a phone. Always take one w me wherever I go in house but since they were there I let down my guard. So I puked so violently my muscles still ache. But I felt better. Then Hubby and nephew got home from funeral. Everyone ate except me. Then the water pill 40 mg I took at 4 took effect at 8 or 9 pm. Why? oh why?! So I was exhausted and now still running to bathroom every ten minutes and think I made 25 trips before I finally fell asleep at 4 am.

Good side. My niece is such a giver, she is just born that way. All day before they came she baked a ham and roast and carrots. Made mashed potatoes w grave and corn and broccoli. She made 2 loaves of bread and a huge tray of cinnamon rolls from scratch. And she made Hubby 24 deviled egg halves. Plus they brought 2 quarts of pure apple butter from the family tradition apple butter stir they carry on for his dad's side of the family. We had a meal after the funeral for the 5 of us, sans me who could not eat. And they left every bit of the massive food they brought in just for us. Now Hubby will have a break in cooking, just heating for a while. They picked up our huge bag of special birdseed at a town over there we seldom get to. And her son, my great nephew got all the locust tree pods out of the front yard, about 5,000 of them. And raked those leaves out. And moved the recliner from deck to sunporch. Then he emptied most of the garden pots on the deck onto the front of deck ground for my cosmos bed next spring.

These two and their two sons are such a treasure. When I feel alone I do know if I needed, they would be there even before asked. But I forget that. Need to remember.

Rough night, bed at 4 finally tough tried 2x before that. Up at 11ish.

Have Downton Abbey Season 5 disc 1 to watch tonight.

Anyone doing anything special this weekend?

  • Loveroflife
    Loveroflife Member Posts: 4,243

Nah. Not really. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Spasm on my left side. So no badminton today for me.

    Just for laughs....

loverly, Those verses from today would be very nice now. I so thought they were soothing.. they helped. we need help now

  • Loveroflife
    Loveroflife Member Posts: 4,243

I am glad you find it soothing as you have also suffered with your own loss, Ms. Sas. We all need help. I do believe that we are only here temporary, journeying through this broken world. Cross path with wonderful and not so wonderful people along the way. We are the thread in a tapestry of life. Here is the verse:

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

But while we are still here we are called to love which is not always easy because of pride and selfishness. Ugh this wretched soul of mine.

Ok, truely I have NOT deserted you all. I've been busy with medical appts., grocery shopping (in prep for dinner one night & the 12 doz. cupcakes I am baking on Monday 10/30), volunteering, etc. my caboose is cooked by the time I get home and have nothing left to get on the computer to make even a quick zoom by. Also with all that activity my hips and legs have been very painful as well. Yesterday (Saturday) I did some house cleaning, 6 loads of laundry, a little ironing, etc. and made it to bed by 3 a.m., so today I spent as pretty much a lump on a log. However I did spens a couple hours looking for a pumpkin cheesecake cupcake recipe, but was having no luck until it occurred to me to google "pumpkin cheesecake cupcake w/ salted caramel topping" recipe and BINGO there it was. YAY! I am ready for bed, but didn't want one more day go by without at least popping in for a short visit.

Bluebird - I am so sorry to read of your horrible experience with the liver bx. Your description made me cringe for you. Regarding the movie I saw week before last, it was titled "Same Kind of Different as Me" and it was incredible. Needed kleenex because it was so sad, inspiring & uplifting at the same time. We'll be going Thursday to see the new Kevin Sorbo movie "Let There Be Light". It looks like it'll be good too.

Smaarty - Loved the pic you posted on Warm and Fuzzy about giving the red squirrels some slack because they drive slowly. Evie is growing into a beautiful little lady. Amazing how quick time flies.

Shep - So glad to see you posting again and that your hips are feeling so much better.

MammaRay - Keeping you in prayer too.

M0mmy - Yay! for you on how the Thanksgiving dinner deal worked out. I hope you're doing okay and can enjoy a peaceful holiday with your DH and critters.

Kathindc - My mother has always been a very bitter and controlling woman who has always made me feel like I was such a disappointment. We have spent many years not speaking because I just couldn't take her constant anger and dissapproval. We tried year before last to find a way to have an adult interaction, but alas she just can't resist the urge to disparage me and pretty much everyone else, so I finally had to let it go. She is 82 now and has replaced me with a woman who is apparently more to her liking as a daughter type. I do pray that somehow she will be able to see the damage her bitterness has caused before it's too late.

Loverly - Your niece is growing like crazy too. That sandwich looked really good and you can't blame her for trying to take a bite. Such a cutie patootie. That Karaoke video was funny. I watched it on FB.

Sassy - Keeping Mags & DH in prayer too!

Okay, I know I am forgetting some. Please chalk it up to sleepiness. I am waving to all and wishing you a peaceful and restful good night.
