Hubby and I may be adding to our family soon. We are getting a kitten sibling for Princess and Jackson.

Dr. increased my beta-blocker. But I am still up at 4:30. Drink some water, tap on keys, and soon will be ready to go back to bed. I am also experiencing some pain from she-who-is-to-be cut off. I don't know if this is a heat or ice situation. Heat is generally more comforting to me, so I will try that.

i’m Here at 1am. Can’t sleep. I had my own “easy” breast csncer earlier this year. Early stage, lumpectomy and radiation and all is well. What is keeping me up is my mom is now in hospice care for stage IV BC. DiagNosed initially 11 years ago, almost 4 years since metastasis. 4 months ago she was golfing and now we are losing her. She is declining rapidly-81 so she had a wonderful life. This is the hardest thing i’ve Ever faced. These boards were so helpful during my treatment I came looking for more comfort from those who understand best..

metoo2018- I'm so sorry about your mom. It must be incredibly distressing for you on so many levels.

I can only offer this: We are all here for you. To offer love and support as your sisters in this disease. We hope that your mother isn't in pain, and that you know you love one another. We'll offer what we can to assist with love, but we are not trained professionals and with cancer having touched so much of your life in so many ways, someone highly trained and skilled may be able to help you through this extremely upsetting part of your life. Do you have a good therapist, who offers EMDR or other trauma/PTSD therapies? Or would you like help finding one that is right for you? I don't know what I'd do w/o mine. She's been my teacher in how to help myself. It's been a positive life-changer amidst so much negative.

My mom had a bone cancer, so I can't relate 100%- let's say 98%, but I don't know if I could make it through if this were me. You're incredibly strong just to be able to share with us.

I hope someone has more to offer that is directly similar to your situation that might be able to walk you through it. But I'm here for you if you just need an ear.

    Metoo Heart

As well as here there is a special forum for people with stage 4 and loved ones with stage 4, perhaps you have already found it, I hope you can find some sources to give you extra love and strength in this very difficult time.

MeToo: I offer you my own direct and personal support, just for starters. Post here, or in other forums--the wonderfully supportive people will help you, I know. That said, I second JWoo's suggestion of looking into PTSD support. It wasn't until I befriended a particularly twitchy veteran that I even understood what this meant...

Mommy: she'll grow into her collar eventually, but that chair is clearly hers.

More like the chair is Princess's and the rest of the world is allowed to use it when Her Highness isn't in the chair!

The collar we got her is one for a kitten, and adjustable as she grows. Her Daddy picked out her tag, Mommy chose the collar.

Mommy, come over to the cats thread. You can post lots of photos there and we'll love them all.

I'm a very proud mommy today. Thought that we were going to have to get a second litter box for Grace to use by herself, but this morning when I put her in the litter box, she proved me wrong! We found out she isn't quite ready to eat straight dry food yet, so her Daddy went and got a few cans of the wet food for her. We mix a little moist food in with the dry and she eats until she has had enough.

On the front with Jackson and Princess accepting Grace, that situation is getting better. Jackson really pays no attention to Grace unless she comes close to him and then she is the one that gets feisty. Princess is still growling and hissing a little but that is getting better too. Last night we had to put Grace in her crate as hubby and I didn't get much sleep the night before with her moving around a lot. She fussed for a short time but after giving her a small toy to cuddle with and not long after that she was quiet. Princess even came up into the room and went to the crate once and gave a growl and a couple of hisses before she jumped up on the bed and laid down on my legs. Hubby woke up once during the night to check on Grace. She was asleep and Princess was still in the room but sleeping on my dresser. When Grace woke up just before we got up, we snuggled her under the blankets with us and Princess jumped back on to the bed and curled up on my hip and slept despite a couple more growls and a hiss at Grace.

Looks like they will work it out OK. Post us a picture of them curled up together in a week.

I certainly hope they will make that kind of progress. Still working with Jackson on accepting her too. We still have a little work on that to do, but it looks promising. All three were sleeping in the living room this morning while I was doing laundry and a small load of dishes.

Such a cute little kitty :)

Meetoo, I am certainly not an expert, but we are all good at listening. It feels good just to write it down and know someone is listening.

So I just got out of hospital again. I must say I am not liking these visits.

Cellulitis, blood clots, cancer in brachial area, so I had to quit my job cause I can hardly use my right Arm now. And the cancer just wanted to meet my liver....but I don't remember the invitation. So that's where I am at.

Starting a new treatment tomorrow. Fingers crossed

No that doesn't sound like fun at all. I hope the new treatment kicks it's butt.

    Thanks Susan!

From the way things were going yesterday with the three of them, it looks like everything will be fine. The girls were playing yesterday without a fuss. Jackson has fully adjusted already.

Susan: definitely fingers crossed. My PTSD sends its sympathies.

Day two of peaceful play between the girls in the house today. BIG change from just a couple of days ago!

Susan - Praying that new treatment will work for you. Stupid liver had no business inviting cancer in.

Mommy - Grace is absolutely adorable! But she does look a bit feisty! So glad they are all adjusting and I'm sure they will soon be chasing each other all over your house. Enjoy them and post some pictures on cats, cats, cats!

Well everything is fine with the kids.

We got our first snow of the season and was only supposed to get 3-6 inches but we got over 8 inches

Tramadol wore off. I don't want to lay in bed, breathing shallowly, while waiting for it to kick in. So I guess I'll roam on the 'net for a while. I did wash my hair and take a sponge bath last night.

  • wren44
    wren44 Member Posts: 7,928

Getting hair washed is just the best! My whole family got mad at me for warming up enough water to wash my hair on a camping trip. Green with envy.

I hope your meds kicked in quickly and you're not in too much pain now.
