Yeah, I cleaned today for the first time in a while. Now I'm paying for it with a painful boob. Oh well, it felt good to do something! I have a couple of blisters on my snakeskin boob, but my skin seems to be less red, and the skin underneath the peeled areas looks almost normal! Hope everyone is ready for the weekend, I know I am! My 18 year old daughter is coming home from Oshkosh tomorrow for her spring break. I can't wait!:)

Fuzzy, thinking of you.
I had to get another magnesium IV today. *sigh* 6 months PFC! Double *sigh* LOL
To all, much love.0 -
Just wanted to let everyone know that surgery went good. It was an all day event. Had to be at the hospital at 6am, they put the wire in at 7am, and did the surgery at 1pm. That made for a really long day! I was pretty sore, and exhausted on wed, so I spent almost all day in bed:). Now I get to play the waiting game once again. I should know results by monday or tuesday, so fingers crossed. Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes, and I give them all back to you! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

notready4this, thanks for checking in, glad it went well. We'll wait with you for results.
SwgeeWi, yay for a bit of normalcy! Hope you heal fast & enjoy spring break with DD.
Monica, sorry for another magnesium IV, hope it does its job. ((hugs))
I only know pi to four digits (3.1415) so am looking forward to March 14, 2015.

Fuzz, thinking of you.
Everyone can be jealous, I went to a fish fry tonight. Oh, wait, this is the Wisconsin board. Probably EVERYONE did! LOL much love!0 -
Moon,
I was so Wisconsin last night that I had fish AND an old fashioned.
Lynn0 -
Let's see, BRANDY old fashioned? I think we are the only state that likes those. LOL
0 -
Korbel brandy, nonetheless, to make it 100% Wisconsin!

Lynn, I was going to guess that it was a brandy old-fashioned sweet. :-)
Monica, this is for us middle-aged ladies & anyone else having memory issues.

Because this is the WI thread, just substitute "Lambeau Field" for "Soldier Field".
Nice & sunny today but still only 20 so I'll wait for this afternoon's 30's to walk.

Hello!
I am laughing at the Brandy Old Fashioned comments. My parents always drank those when I was growing up, and I like them. The little sugar cube with the bitters... the whole little ritual. Haha!
Sorry for butting in... I was born/raised in Kenosha, but now I'm in Illinois, so I will keep quiet!
Good luck ladies and take care.
Laurie

Laurie,
Anyone who drinks brandy old fashioned its okay, even if she is in that other state now.
I stopped drinking due to fibro meds, but since THE diagnosis, I've had an of or two. Funny you mention your parents because that's why I'm drinking them. My dad used to give me the cherries from his so it is sort of a comfort drink now. My dad passed away at 49 of pancreatic cancer in 1985, so I have thought a lot of him as I was dx when I was just about out of age 49.
If you're ever back here, we will go to the Old Fashioned on the capital square in Madison.

hi Laurie, our neighbors from IL, and ex-pats from WI, are always welcome here!
Lynn, I'm not from WI so my parents didn't drink BOF's but I loved getting the cherries from the bottom of their whiskey sours.

My mom is originally from southern Mississippi, so the OF's in our house were made with Southern Comfort.
Funny story about my dad that DS just asked me about a few minutes ago. Dad came from very meager beginnings in Croatia at age 10 through Ellis Island. He never had much, but got into UW Madison to study engineering. He had a job working as a server at a sorority and one day tasted a marishino cherry. Such a delicacy he had never tried! He proceded to eat so many that he got sick and never ate another one in his life.
So one SCOF with cherries and one w/o!

Ha ha, you guys crack me up! I'm originally from Ohio, so I ate the cherries from my parent's Manhattans. My great aunt drank old fashioneds and I couldn't imagine why they put something called "bitters" in their drinks! I didn't have any green beer today, but I did just finish a glass of wine. But we're all Irish today, right?

oh, oh, oh I have an Irish Joke for today~
So this Irish guy walks out of a bar....
Hey, it could happen.

When we lived in VA, my husband asked for a Southern Comfort old Fashioned sweet. They had no clue. So he ended up with a whiskey sour with a spoon of sugar, gag! LOL

Good morning ladies. Sounds like you all had a good weekend! Thanks for all that you guys have informed me on things. I got my Dx yesterday, and it is NOT cancer!!! I have LCIS, did a little reading on it, after my Dr. told me I could google it, and I'll take it! I will see my bs on Thurs, to go over all path and such, and then she will be setting me up at the high risk clinic in Madison? Not sure where that is, or what going to a high risk Dr will be like. She also mentioned that they might put me on Tamoxifen...wow that drug sure has a lot of side effects. Anyways thought I would check in, and give my thanks. You ladies sure did help in the last week. I am off to do a little more research on this, so I can have all my questions ready, (I am never prepared, and I always wish I would have asked the Dr. this or that) so this time I am going to try to be ready! Thanks again!

Not,
Are you going to the Carbone Center in Madison?
I'm glad it's not cancer, and it sounds like you're on the right path!

Hi Notready! I'm so happy you don't have cancer!! You must be so relieved!! Now they can keep a good eye on you so nothing else pops up. I start my Tamoxifen tonight. If you do start, there's a thread for that here, also. I picked up a tip about taking it at night, and some people split it in half or fourths to get their body used to it to reduce SE's. Good luck! If you want to meet sometime when you're in Madison, let me know! Sheila:)

Great News, notready! It's great that you can take some time and some deep breaths and not feel like you have to rush into any decisions.

Librarylynn, not sure exactly where I will be going. Is that the high risk clinic for UW?, if so then I am sure that is where my BS plans on sending me. I should find all that out tomorrow when I see her for my path results, and check up from surgery.
SwgeeWI...hope all is well when you start the new medicine. Let me know how it goes. I know my bs said that they will probably want me to take that, however I am not sure I will right away. I am so unsure of the side effects. I guess I will wait until I talk to the high risk Dr. but some of the se seem a bit scary.
zogo...I have finally had a good night sleep since all of this has started. (wich was in late Oct, early Nov) the bs mentioned they might have me do a mri, until I reminded her that I just had one, and that is how they found the mass to begin with. So she said there is no imidate rush for another check.
Kind of curious as to how often I will be checked etc...from what I have read it seems like every 6 months is the standard? Anyone have any idea if thats correct? I guess I will find out soon enough. I am REALLY glad I went to UW, and was able to get a better diagnosis. Hope you all have a great week!

hi all, haven't been here since Sun. Mon & Tue are DH's nights off so I'm usually not here then.
zogo, what's Irish and sits on your lawn? patio furniture (Paddy O'Furniture) <groan>
notready4this, so glad to hear you do not have invasive BC. Your doc will probably talk to you about reducing your future risk with diet, exercise, and meds. I saw my onc every three months for a year and now it's every six months. Won't go to yearly until I hit the 5-year mark. BTW, I've been on tamox since July 2010 and it's not that bad. Hot flashes and nighttime foot & leg cramps are the most annoying SE's.
Sheila, I once took a shot of bitters while up in Door County. Apparently it's a tradition from Prohibition. There's quite a bit of alcohol in bitters, which was classified as a medicine, so they drank it. Blech!
Monica, how's the new Eve Dallas?
Gina, it's been too doggone cold for me to drop off that info sheet but one of these days I will. You've got the web addresses which is the most valuable info anyway.
Happy Spring (??) everyone. ((fuzzy & family))

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news but fuzzy's mom passed away earlier this week.
Just thought I'd let you know, please send her some love and maybe say a prayer.

Not ready, I'm glad you got some good news. Badger, the Eve Dallas book was real good. No super villian, just a good mystery with those lovely fun parts. LOL.
You all know we live in WI. So you will understand when I tell you I went out to get the mail today without a coat! What a beautiful day!
Made another of those freezer meals, chicken fajita, it was good.
Much love to all.0 -
