Good morning- I got up and went to aqua zumba today and then soaked in the hot tub and it felt good. I have not been to this class in the past month and sometimes go play music on sat morning, but really needed this today. One of the ladies in the class made these cool little rubber bracelets with different colors and just gave them to us gals in the class. How nice was that? Generosity of spirit. Mine is green and black and will wear it to class every time. It serves no purpose, just pretty. I love neat surprises like that!

I think I am going to do some personal training to get back into my weight/strength training. It has really fallen off this year and is important for me to keep up with so my bones don't deteriorate on the AIs (still worried they are but won't do next bone density test until end of the year per my MO). There is a trainer there who works with seniors and those rehabing from stuff, and thinking she will be the right person to work with me. I feel like I need someone who is used to working with people who have had major health issues (like cancer) and she might be able to help me around some of the limitations I have with the joint stiffness, etc on the AIs. I put in a request to meet with her.

When I went back to the gym last year after I was recovered enough from my surgeries, they only had one female trainer there and she was a bodybuilder (LOL!) I did not like my training enough with her to want to do more, but she got me started. I want someone I can go back to periodically to keep me honest about things. My sister just started with a gym too, as well as a personal trainer and is trying to get more fit and loose weight and she got me thinking about doing it too.

Sounds like a lot of us are hanging out at home this weekend. A lot of people here go away for the summer holiday weekends, either up north to camp, or other areas out west. The gym was dead for a saturday morning as were a few stores.

Yep, I'm hanging out at home, too, Jazzy, just doing housework (including laundry) and trying to catch up on other things.

Enerva, I think we're all so happy that you're happy now.  :-)  I hope you're back to feeling 100% better (and pain-free) soon.

BB - LOL.  So then I'm not the only person who falls behind on laundry?  I don't know how many times I've looked in my dresser drawer and found no underwear... lol... only to have to wash and dry something very quickly.  lol

Milky - Are you still on a road trip?  I hope you and the kids are having fun.

    Piper - I got your message.  :-)

For anyone else out there ---- Feel free to jump back into the conversation any time!

Hi ladies- taking a break from the house re-assemble. Making good progress in my living room and wanted to show you one wall I re-designed. Some new things and some existing things. I am taking the opportunity to make my space less cluttered and more enjoyable.

I found the panel to the left at one of the discount stores and just LOVE it. It is a forest scene and has little red hearts. The picture on the wall came from Pier 1 years ago, how cool does it match with the panel. The new panel was only $35 dollars and looks so nice in that corner. The little red trunk came from Kohls recently and using that to put my stereo on. I am getting rid of an older wicker trunk it was sitting on.

Going to work on the other side of the LR next and also working on putting a few final things back into the other rooms.

I wish I could have you all over for a party.

Enerva- this one for you. I think I told you I went to Venezuela many years ago on a vacation with a couple friends. Back in 1989, and the three of us went to Caracas for a few days and then Margarita Island for the rest of our time.

I bought this mask on Margarita Island, and to this day, it is one of my favorite things I have ever gotten from a trip. The gentleman who sold it to me told me all about how he made it and the mask was made from the mold of a face of one of his relatives. I painted my nicho near the front door the same color as my accent wall in the kitchen, and put the mask here today. The mask has been in this spot for awhile, and love it with the new hot pink behind it.

Wondering if you ever saw these types of masks when you lived there? I got one a few years back that was similar to it in Costa Rica but nothing as beautiful as this.

It's funny how we all have something in common with each other.  Most of what I held onto are keepsakes from when my children were little and souvenirs from travels in my younger days.  I was in Vzla very briefly around the same time as Jazzy, and the interesting things I picked up there are still right here with me.  As for college, I never finished all four years, stopping just a few courses shy of a bachelors.  Recently I called the university and found out that most of those credits wouldn't count now.

Milky - Your trip sounds like it was magical -- good for the soul.  :-)

I hope E is getting some much-needed rest.

wow, I did stay in bed most of the day, I love the mask Jazz

I have to admit I am having a hard time with pain with the surgery I think the Ps had to do lots of pockets repair specially in the rad breast, I clean the incisions and they look much better blood stopped. I hope I heal well and that the thick scars won't form.

Piper yes I hate how I was not given any instructions or even the follow up appointment. Tuesday I will call to find out when do I got take my stitch out.

I am now watching season 2 of this show. Not bad at all very addictive lol

It's almost 1 am I ll try to sleep now

    Good night

Good morning ladies- waking up to a beautiful morning here and getting my day going.

Enerva- I am sorry you are hurting from the surgery. You can feel so good coming out of a procedure, because of the anesthesia, but when it wears off, it is hard. I am glad you are resting and finding interesting things to watch on TV. Are you able to eat anything?

Life- as I have been going through my house to re-organize after the painting and flooring projects, I have rediscovered so many things I love from times gone by. Yesterday, I spent time organizing about 20 years worth of CDS and was playing some music I love that I have not listened to in awhile. Very cool that you and I were both in VZ years ago at the same time. And now we have a VZ friend here too!

BB- I hope you are doing okay today. You were asking about people who were out there trying to date and Bdavis did pop in to say hi to us while you were away. Her summer love came and is gone, but we were just very glad to hear from her. Who knows, maybe she will read this and pop in again.

I am off to the Jemez Springs and Giggling Hot Springs with one of my BFFs. A bit of soaking, lunch, little shopping and on home by late afternoon. I am ready to take a break from this house.

Wishing everyone a good day and will check in tonight. Love you all!

Hi ladies- had a good time at the hot springs today. This is where we were today. I have been sore and my left ankle has been hurting me (I think it is tendonitis), and it seemed to help. Had a good visit with my friend and going to her house tomorrow for a late afternoon BBQ for Labor Day.

Enerva- so sorry you are hurting. Your surgery was wed so you are four days out now. Hopefully the pain will diminish but if it does not, you need to call the doctor and be sure they don't think anything else is going on (like infection). I know it is hard to be down in bed. I don't do well with bed rest either.

Are you watching anything good on TV? You mentioned one series you were getting addicted to?

Tomorrow is September. Hard to believe.

yes,  jazz tmw it's September lol unreal, well yes I am watching my pain, hopefully it will get better it seams to be around the incisions and the centre but not fever and no redness all very clean so I think it's just the pockets work that was done internal. Should improve within a few more days.  Yes watching shows lol really good.

Hope you are all having a good night it's 1 am now I will turn off the phone now.

    Good night

Good morning ladies- hope everyone slept well. I slept like a rock after those hot springs yesterday.

Enerva- I am glad you see no signs of infection. Let us know how you are doing today?

BB- you asked about my music. I play a total of four instruments, although I don't tend to keep up with all of them sometimes. My best instrument (played it the longest and play it the best) is the flute. Been playing since I was nine. I picked up the sax after I moved out to NM, something I always wanted to play and found a great little jazz community here and took lessons. I play the alto and soprano sax. My favorite instrument is the soprano, but it is not an easy instrument to play.

I also play the violin. I have been playing that since high school and was classically trained and played through high school, college and grad school in their orchestras. I also have played in three community orchestras including one here in ABQ when I first moved here. I tried doing some salsa on the violin which is fun, but also hard!

I have never really played in a jazz group here, although I get asked quite often to. It requires a lot of time and usually pays nothing. Many people I know that do have bands either have many groups and play gigs day and night or have FT jobs, and have bands on the side or do it when they are retired. I was part of a salsa group here back in 2011 for a special event with a 10 person group. One of the most fun things I ever did! I am trying to get back into playing more again this year and will go again next saturday to jam!

Everything you ever wanted to know about Jazzy's music, but was afraid to ask! Music is my first love.

BB- I also wanted to say I am glad that you are spending time with your mom this weekend. How lucky you are to still have her and that she is of support to you right now. It is important to spend time with those who care about us and can be positive with us. This illness will make you go to the dark side every chance it gets.

I hope you have some nice time together this weekend.

Jazzy - I've always loved music, too, but never had that kind of talent.  That is really great that you have so much musical talent.

E - I hope you rest well tonight.

    Goodnight, all.  :-)

i am feeling improvement cuz the swelling went down a lot and now the mayor pain is more on the left breast incisions, I clean everything today and at least it's very dry and clean I can say it looks perfect and I think once the stitching is off it will heal good.  Now the pain is sharp so when not taking the pain killer it really kills me lol tomorrow I will call since I read on google that removable stitching should be taken off 7 to 10 days after surgery, I really want them remove so I can apply vio oil and other stuff tonprevent the ugly scars from forming. I just don't understand why was not given an appointment yet. Other than the pain I am getting better. Stomach is good or at least 70% back to normal. I forgot today but tmw when I take the tape off I will take pictures so you see how nice incisions are now. The guy did a great job I am very happy I requested removable stitching. I am sure once the tread is off my skin it will clear up nicely :) that other wish ps told me she was not able to do that for me and the way she sticht me in the past two surgery created a big kiloide scars which were ugly painful always red and sore. So I figure it was the disolvable tread that somehow my body tends to reject and once it's off my skin will manage to heal well. Fingers crossed it's been 5 days and it already looks great lol

i finally spoke to the Ps secretary and she told me that the Dr.is out of town again. So the early they can see me is September 09, so imagine 14 days to get my stitch out. Doesn't that sounds crazy is like this ps is always out of town lol now I worry having the sticht for so many days lol piper is it OK 14 days?

Enerva- I guess since you did not get any post discharge instructions, it is hard to know if those stitches need to come out sooner or not? BB is right in that others can do that, but many surgeons like to see their patients to make sure things are looking okay. My stitches in my head that are coming out today had to be in two weeks, but with other surgeries, they would take them out anywhere from a week to 10 days later. Just really hard to know without info on the way out what to expect?

I know it may be very hard to keep them in another week, but you definately don't want them out too soon either! Watch for signs of itching, that is always a good sign of healing too.

Jazzy's advice is solid. And some will keep stitches in for 2 weeks. Depends. Just keep them clean and dry. Just mild soap, water and pat dry. I actually used saline and patted my incisions dry. We use saline in the hospital. It cleans without drying the skin out.

Hi ladies- back from the derm office, plus a few errands after. Stitches are out of my scalp from the recent basal cell spot removal a few weeks ago. The nurse who removed them said everything looked very good, and to come back in 2 months to see the derm to make sure things are healing. Then again in 6 months, then I will see her yearly after that. I am glad to have them out (and know E that you will be glad for yours to come out next week). I was ready after a week of them for them to be out, but was patient and made sure I kept things clean and let them do there thing.

Piper- lets talk about food! Yesterday, my friend made a delicious greek childen (chix breasts marinated in greek dressing), and her sister made this interesting pea salad with peas, lima beans, green beans and water chesnuts. I brought a caprese salad (tomatoes, mozz, basal drizzled with balsamic, and they also got some portobello mushrooms and stuffed them with pepper, onion and cheese. Everything was SO yummy! Oh and roasted corn on the cob, but I passed on that as it was just too much food for me (I don't eat that much anymore).

BB- I think a trip to New Orleans would do you a world of good. Spending time with your niece and family there. Such a cool city. Go down to Bourbon Street and check out some jazz!
