Come to P-burgh. Small town feel in a big city.......

    No one goes away disappointed.

Jazz, as much as I have had a recent fascination with Washington, I actually looked at Oregon for nursing jobs. Call me Crazy!

One of my coworkers is out there now and I am even more convinced I need to explore that area. I even looked at rentals and condos for sale.

We used to have street cars in my town. They have been replaced by a light rail system in the south of the city.

I have never been out west past Chicago.

I have always wanted to take a cross country tour of the USA......probably why I would also like to delay Europe. Exploring the USA was higher on my list

The moment flows by like molten sapphire
     Deep Blue silences
     No Earth below
     No Sky above
     The rustling branches and leaves
Saying that only you are here
     Only me
     My breath
     My heartbeat
     Such Depth like this
     Such Loneliness like this
     And me only me
     I now believe I exist.

Bb I had really great time on road trip with my mom n kids I really wanted to go on mountains where I can listen only my heart beat and peace

    good morning!!!

Milky thanks for sharing, how beautiful and I love the idea of the mountain trip too.

My friend is writing her exam now, I worry for her, this is her second attempt and if she fail I am not sure she will pay for the course again. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to get up and try again after we fall but bc has provided me with that lesson that no matter how many times I fall I must get up and keep trying till I get where I want to be.

MILKY let's go on a Usa trip as soon as we can and meet the girls lol

Have an amazing Saturday ladies ;)

Good morning ladies- going to get out for a short bike ride before I go play some music this morning. But wanted to check and wish you all a good day.

Milky- those pictures are gorgeous. Did you write that poem? It is beautiful. It sounds like that trip did you good in so many ways. A road trip is always good for lifting up the soul, along with being out in the beauty of nature. You take some very pretty photos.

Piper- A number of people I know from here have moved up Oregon in the past 10 years. Portland is a very progressive city and the streetcar I posted is from that area. They look cool and fun to ride, and there are some other beautiful places there too. I always thought if I did not want to stay in NM long term (I really love it here, but there are some serious economic and social issues here that are getting worse and of concern to me), that Portland would be a place I would explore. I love the west!

I have spent time all over PA in the past because my fathers family was from PA and know Pittsburgh, Philly and more. I love the east coast but hate all the snow there. I am spoiled by the weather after living in the sunny southwest!

Will you look into the skydiving soon?

Hello all, I'm new to this thread but have been on this site for awhile. Mostly in the surgery and treatment threads.

    Beautiful pictures. Nice conversations.

If it's the USA you wish to see and there is a group of you, RVing may be the way to go. You rent an RV based on the number of people /sleeping areas. They you pick the areas you wish to explore and get an RV map that tell you where you can make camp. Most camps have Bus service to the areas /city near by. Gas is a bit expensive, but you save a lot on food and hotels. There are several RV caravans that travel together yearly, sort of like a tour.

A little about me, divorced w 3 kids. 10,13,21. I worked full time until I was DX, then have not worked much due to treatments and surgeries. I am getting near the end on TX only 12 more herceptins to go, and maybe 2 more recon surgeries to go (taking it slow) I have had too many issues with infections and skin not healing, but thank God all is going well now.

I do have a person in my life now for about 2 years. I met him a year before I was dx and we were friends, he stuck around and became more.

Have a great weekend, It is currently thundering very loudly and pouring in Miami.

Viv....wow! great info about the RV-ing. My BFF from college and I were to travel cross country after we graduated. Delayed that trip and now very disappointed we did.

So glad you stopped in and hope you stay a while. And how wonderful for you to have found someone special to stick by you through a budding to friendship to something deeper. :)

While you are here, care to add to the bucket list?

I love seeing what others desire and long to do. No matter how big or small.

E-your enthusiastic spirit these days is quite infectious.

So to answer you Jazz, I did take a quick peek into skydiving. I do not know if I can do it. as yet. Then I think....what is the worse that could happen.......WELLLLLLLLLLL....shoot!

OK...2 peeps I work with did it. Maybe I should ask them if they would do it with me.

It is around 11am. My garage sale is going on. Apparently not many in our neighborhood are participating. So I have been told by people who have stopped by. I have had several nice ones to chat with. Now it has been dead for the last 30min. I have only made @ $20. I had so much more traffic the last time. I have a wax burner making the garage smell nice (everyone has remarked how nice it smells). Cinnamon-ish

It was supposed to rain. Therefore, I did not pull a lot of stuff out into the driveway. Could be why the traffic is here and there too.

OK, 2 peeps stopped in. One very preggos.....prob looking for baby stuff. HAHAHA, I sold all of that soooo long ago.

    Next on the wish list.......

    ........................................

Ah! to go to the Gorge in the state of Washington, for a weekend with DMB.

And go on a Jazz cruise with David Koz........

    Goood Morning!

Sounds like you are all doing well and about to begin weekends...still not up for that yet.

So I finally scheduled a beauty appt for last Thursday. No beauty since June. Beauty facial (complete with waxing) was awesome! However, the awesome feeling was quickly gone when I stepped off curb and fell in between cars.....I could not get my body up...luckily someone came out and helped...so here I recline with bruised and scrapped knees and bruised right rib!

Piper - thank you for looking at my boobs! I took your advice and emailed them to PS. He thinks the redness on left one might be from bacitracin. So I will now try vasoline. I really do not believe that but I will follow instructions until appt.

BB- I will PM to you too for your expert advice.

Bucket list item one: travel to Italy and France and sightsee via boat along the coasts.

wow, you ladies stay up real late.....i can't function after 10:30 lol

mn....i love the bucket list idea. i am going to athens in april (hope that will all pan out)...have a good friend there so will meet with her and have her show me around town. i do want to go to vegas someday and chicago. if i have to i'll do it alone. life is too short to wait for someone to travel. the other day my friend came over, and we talked about furniture and i realized i was putting my life (buying nice pieces of furniture) on hold until i got married. how foolish i was.

    Bucket Lists......

    From the Air...

I have fallen I went skydiving when I was younger, I piggybacked 3 times and soloed once.

    Into the Ocean...

I have dived and on my last one I met a shark face to face, while lobstering in the Florida Keys.

    Onto Land.....

Is where I think I want my adventures to be.....I would love to travel and not only see the US but the world.

If I were to hit the lottery, I'd take my kids out of school and home school them for a least a year while we traveled from place to place. No hurries....exploring a country until decided to move on. Ship,Plane,Train or Bus ...doesn't matter.   I would definitely get an RV and criss cross the US. You ladies would be welcome to join from your respective states or you could fly in and skydive down and we'd catch you.

Seriously once I can work full time again and get a handle on all of the expenses, I'll start saving for a trip. But my bucket list includes more time withmy  kids going to places even locally, like going to zoo again, to museums, art openings, plays, musicals....exposing them to as much as I can. If there is an event with free tickets or reduced tickets all the way in the back row....I get them and we go.

    Thank you ladies,

    Vivian

wow, so I got up then went to the post office :) sent a top to one of our bc sisters in Miami if the tops fits she will be my model in Miami lol so she will do a great promotion for my top at a warm weather place yahoooo. Ok I also stopped at winners and found 2 sport bras which I think will be perfect. I am back now going to figure out lunch and then off to bed.  Some sharp pain still in my incisions but all looking dry and nice.

VIVIAN I AM IN!!! RV trip sounds amazing, I hope we keep in touch so I can come meet you. Me too I will start working full time and will start saving for that trip.

I am so happy we are having new girls here, soon this tread will be as busy as the insomnia tread ha ha ha

Found a few cools things at the dollar store. I went there to buy the envelope to send my parcel ;)

I want to Kayak on the waterways Milky posted.

Wait, I read it, but who fell between cars?

Shoot. That is not only a BB move but a PIper epic moment too!

Is it weird I cried when I saw some tributes about Joan Rivers????

I am getting my period so I cry at everything. .....yep that's it.

OK I am about $40 profit from house crap sold.

I am really miffed about the water and soda I bought for the sale. In the past that is what always sold first.

I have been voted best smelling garage by guys and girls alike. The ginger wax is quite nice. Even the men are liking it. ;)

Another weird moment. A young couple bought 2 chairs of mine and I was jealous of them. They were so cute and were so in tune with each other. They sat in the chairs to try them out and I told them they had to stay there for a while to encourage others to visit. Young, cute and at ease with each other. Had I been smarter about my choices when I was younger....I missed out because I was rather immature. So I ended up in a less than worthy relationship. Grew some and realized I was with the wrong person.......and with child.....and a wedding to cancel

    hindsight......grand

Who else has something for the list????

Hey VIV! I home schooled for 3 years..I wanted to do travel nursing, but thought my ex would fight me on leaving the state.........he left instead, after I bought a home to have place for my son and I to feel settled.........

I was the thrifty mom in town. I found so many free and reduced things to do. I once had my son in local summer camps for free one entire summer. Our local museums, aviary and zoo offer discounts or free days periodically.

We used to bike along the river several times a week. My mother was amazed at all of the things I would do with my son. Our greatest love ended up being going to concerts together. Free and otherwise. We do share our love of music for sure. Once, when my son was young, a coworker gave us tix to 'Brigadoon' and I won tix to a 'Beatlemania Tribute' at the theater. He and I enjoyed it so much! My son was also in several drama productions through his school before Homeschooling and in our local church. What a natural stage presence and actor.....

    I miss those days.......

Missed posts as I was writing.

    E-I am the Dollar Store!!!!!

BB-too funny. I hate being cold and do not mind sweating. I am def in the wrong climate.

It is 145pm ish. people are passing me up. I should place items in my driveway. Yet, I am not feeling it. I have a few items out there and my car is in my neighbors drive way. Doors are open, UGH. I am planted in my chair and cannot move. I just want to nap. Rain is now starting to look imminent. I had a crazy stop. Would not stop talking. His conversation became a little concerning and twisted.I received an audible text from my cousin. Sent a text to my neighbor "HELP" She responded right away and came over. He eventually left, but now I am feelign unsettled from his presence.

I am going to close up soon. Was not worth the effort......Live and learn

    so glad she was home

Imagining I am in the air, cruising at low altitude until Vivs camper pulls up to capture me or several of us......

    Sandpiper,

I'd create a sandpit for you all to land in. Much safer and softer landing. I think the idea of a group of of in an RV for a few weeks of exploring would be a blast.

I tried a garage sale once. I think I sold $100. Mostly Baby Items, nothing else. But I wanted the stuff out so I posted on Freecycle. It's a site where if you have something to give away or are looking for something you post there. By that evening my driveway was clean. I use it everytime I want to get rid of something usable.

After the crazy man incident, I decided I was done. I headed out to my back deck to have soup and a hard earned beer. ;)

A neighbor who I barely know, calls out to me. I have no idea who is speaking and suddenly realize it is the guy from 3 doors down........

I swear, I am never showing my face in this neighborhood again. I also had the weird schnauzer walking lady stop in with her F-ing dog to case my garage and it's contents. I literally scowled at her for bringing her dog in and being nebby. Fortunately a few people were there to keep me from becoming a PMS-ing BITCH! I don't like her AT ALL!

Tomorrow is the Steeler season opener against the Cleveland Brownies. I am fortunate enough to have been invited by my cousin. They are calling for cooler temps and no rain. Since the rain came late today/barely at this point. I hope tomorrows forecast isn't what we missed today.

TY to all for putting up with me during my garage sale, I surely needed the company.

So glad you stopped back June.......and Viv and Lisa.....

    ;)
