Dense breasts here too. Although since I'm menopausal now the one I have left isn't so dense you know. Add to that the estrogen blocking tamoxifen I suppose. I'm of the mindset too that until I'm told something I need to worry about, I'll leave it until then.

Ali, glad that's all it is. Christina, glad something helped. Much love.

Just wanted to say hi everyone. Happy to hear about the good or at least non evil test results. Everyone here and those that have never heard 'it's cancer' could die tomorrow for many reasons. We are forgive me, but lucky to have the cold water splash to the face that reminds us we didn't get a guarantee that we'll grow old. My nephew died on his 21st birthday this year. My family that rallied around my treatment was blindsided by a freak second in time that took his life. I wanna enjoy every day I have if its one or if it's 20,000. Susan, you are an amazing person and there's plenty left to do in this world. Thank you all for being here, I think of you often.

Faithhopenluv - thank you for reminding us. We have much to be thankful for.

What's everyone so busy with this week!?!
At school I had my comprehensive assessment today. It was the fastest four and a half hours of my life. I wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote. I find out on April 10 if I passed. It has to be passed in order to graduate. If you don't pass, you get a chance to take it again in late April. If you don't pass it then, you get one more chance, but not until October. If you don't pass then they kick you out of the program! I think I did okay enough to pass but I am going to be on pins and needles until then.

Christina , I haVe my fingers crossed for you. Much love

Yes. Good luck, Christina.

Good Luck Christina. But I don't think you are just relying on luck. We look forward to hearing that you passed! And yes, what is everyone so busy with? The link has been quieter...

Christina, i know you will do well so chill out with a glass of something. I've been out and about and spending time with family. My daughter has had a better week with the depression. Fingers crossed no more cutting only those three days. I'm pissed the hospital haven't given her the treatment she needs. We are still waiting for her to be seen by a doctor, we only get to see a nurse. Do you have to be bleeding blood before you get to see a doctor. We still have to wait weeks but we do get to see the nurse most weeks.

Christine
If you studied well, I'm sure you'll get the passing mark on April 10. I just know you're going to pass!
Ali
I hope your daughter get the help she needs soon. Does it have to be a referral at the hospital? Are you not allowed to have your GP refer you to a specialist?
Firstcall
It was really quite around here wasn't it. For me I've been working alot, actually too busy but my boss hired a part timer which will take some of the pressure off. I'm loving it though. Now that the long weekend in here I'll be packing and getting organized for my move. So looking forward to the future!!
We had a celebration for my Mom's 85th at her residence last week. She did well for about an hour which was great. Below is a pic of most of my family. Not all could come but a good showing. Yes I'm the one in the hat LOL! Not that I'm embarrased about having short hair, but in trying to grow it, its such a mess right now.

Hey everybody,
I've been trying to pick up more work to stockpile $$$ as DH continues the job hunt, and am finding myself swamped with assignments--yay me!
Easter was very nice--went to a friend's house, after going up to VT to ski for a couple days prior. Very relaxing!
Now back in Swampville, but our first daffodils are in bloom, the red-winged blackbirds are back, and there is a freaking BALD EAGLE swooping about the pond, which is so, so, cool.
Firstcall, are you still running the Boston Marathon? Same offer as last year holds...

Hi everyone!
Its been months since I've been here. It sure took a long time to read everyones posts, and I was a bit on the edge of my seat with everyone's situations, but I'm so glad that everyone is doing well. I've been busy working at a new job and trying to get back to normalcy. At times I feel like the big " C " rears its ugly head. My tumor markers were slightly elevated two months ago. (they were never below the norm). So my onc wanted me to have a colonoscopy, endoscopy, sonagram of ovaries and Pet Scan. Geez how nerve wracking! Thank god everything was negative. I saw my onc last week and my markers went down a bit. She said some people just run high markers, and that she is not crazy on the tumor marker test. She feels its not a good screening tool and just gets patients stressed. She said we are one of the few countries that uses tumor marker testing. So my next step is a visit to Vinnies Tattoo Parlor. Anyone go to him?

Dipad. So glad you are OK. Tumor markers are reliable in some, not reliable in others. They are reliable in me.
I haven't been to Vinny but am in DC. If you want, when you come down this way, let me know and I can meet you. :-)
My purty, scar covering tattoo is going to be with an artist here in DC and I have to wait a while so the skin can more fully heal.0 -
My onc said DONT GO TO A TATTOO ARTIST, but my feeling is if nipple tattoing is their expertise than they must be good. I've heard nothing but good things so far about Little Vinnies. I called them today. The fee to do both breasts is $600. If you go on his web site he has pictures before and after. My health insurance changed and the plastic surgeon doesnt take my new insurance. He charges $1,000 and I doubt he does nipple tattooing all day. I'm hoping to go in the next month, yes Grit girl that would be great to meet up.

My onc said a tattoo is fine. Just find a tattoo artist who follows good sanitation practice. Dipad, just let me know when. :-)

hello all! hope everyone had a happy Easter as well. dipad I am so glad your tests came out negative. I absolutely hate the stress of taking tests and waiting for results.
Hildy I love birds and I get a thrill when I see a bald eagle, too. We have redwing blackbirds pretty well year round but they only show up at my house when it snows. They seem to travel with grackles and brownheaded cowbirds, they swarm my birdfeeders and all my little birds disappear. Usually within a day or two of the snow stopping, they leave and my little birds come back.

Dipad, there are a lot of women who have gone to Vinnie. I think I saw a lot if them on the TE trouble board when they finally got their exchanges. at least, I think it was that board. I am glad your tests are ok. Christina, I am glad you had a great Easter. Grit girl. I want to see the pics you want done, fun! Hildy, wow, daffodils? We still have snow Here. It's melting finally. Tomorrow it might go up over 50 degrees. Yay! Maybe ee will have daffodils in a couple weeks to. Come on spring! LOL to all, much love!

Dipad, there's a whole thread in the reconstruction forum, I think, about going to see Vinnie. I definitely plan to do so, but I think he's currently booking in August for Baltimore location. I have to email and set something up, too, so Gritgirl is going to get a stream of nip-related visits.

Sounds good to me. If you need a place to stay, I'd be happy to host. I live in DC and have dogs, just to let you know. :-)

I may not be posting for a bit. My DFIL just passed this morning. He had been going downhill since my DMIL passed in Dec. He was 90 and passed quietly in his sleep. Much love.

My condolences Mnflwr.
Prayers for you and yours as you grieve, but also as you celebrate his life with your memories.
